We were extremely pleased with Kris Hunt. He was a last-minute replacement for our original piper who had another engagment he couln't miss. Kris was sent in his place and we couldn't be happier. He is a very professional and personable musician. People from around the area of the wedding ceremony venue were stopping on the street to hear him play. It was really beautiful and he chose a great playlist. He even fit in a polka for my (Polish) side of the family!

Kris did a beautiful job and everyone loved the bagpipes at our wedding. Very professional and extremely nice gentleman. He was wonderful to work with and I'm very glad he played at our wedding!

I will provide that special Celtic touch and atmosphere your event requires. I can also provide the best Highland Dancers in the country if your event requires entertainment that will be remembered forever. Drummers, or any combination of pipes and drums can also be arranged.
I cover the entire Southeast Michigan(and beyond) area. I guarantee availibility. That is; If I'm not available, I will provide another excellent piper from my band, the St. Andrew's Pipe Band of Detroit, to be there. So if I were to fall ill, or otherwise be unable to attend your event- you're still covered. Contracts are available but not required. Deposits only required when a contract is requested. What ceremony music arrangements can you provide?
Instrumental - Duo, Instrumental - Solo, Instrumental - Trio
What instruments does your group play?
Drums
What is your usual attire?
Traditional formal Highland attire. 2 different kilts (your preference): Rose(red) Clan tartan or Ancient Hunter(blue/green) Clan tartan.

How much time do you usually need for setup?
I usually arrive a half hour to an hour prior to play time, but typically 10 minutes to dress and 1 minute to tune up.
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
An additional travel fee may be charged for events outside Southeast Michigan.
Additional Advice
What do you usually charge for a wedding?
My fee typically starts at $200 for the ceremony only. Add $50 for the reception(providing it's immediately after the wedding and within normal driving distance). If it's a split(meaning the reception is more than 1.5 hours after the ceremony), that extra fee may go up.
At what points do you usually play?
Prelude: As guests arrive
Processional: Entrance of the wedding party
Recessional: Exit of the wedding party
Postlude: As guests depart
Reception Grand Entrance: Lead wedding party into reception
*These are just examples. Your event will require custom service and I am completely flexible in that regard.
Can you play as a surprise at the end of our ceremony?
Absolutely! This makes for an exciting and rousing exit that will resonate!
Will you play as a surprise for the bride?
Absolutely not! That's the one and only person I will not surprise. I also do not process down the aisle in front of a bride(the spotlight should be on her only).
What tunes do you play?
I have a large repertoire and would be happy to discuss tune selection and provide samples over the phone.
Can you play Irish tunes?
Yes! "Minstrel Boy" and "Wearin' o' the Green" are two of my favorites.
What sets me apart from most of the other pipers is my musicianship. I've been playing since I was 12 years under some of the best instruction in the world. I had a very successful solo piping competition career, and I continue playing competitions with an established competing band(St. Andrew's Pipe Band of Detroit). You want a piper for your event that can be counted on as being the best technically as well as musically. Ask your piper if he or she has competition experience. You want a piper with Grade 3 or better(Grades 2, 1, and Open are better to best in that order) experience.
