The brides family didn't want to spring for a band so we had to go with a DJ. these guys look and sound great. They quoted a little low, lets hope this is not an old bait and switch. we will see when we sign the contract later in the week.

We hired DJ PAT to play music for our ceremony and reception. HE WAS AMAZING! I was a bit scared at first looking for DJ because they are pretty pricy and I wanted to feel comfortable about the money we spent. Pat was very reasonable and I also felt that we got MORE than our monies worth. He coordinated the whole wedding party and reception for us. He was always friendly and on top of everything before and during my day. Pat loves his job and I can tell. He always had time to talk to us when we needed advise and also gave us some great ideas to keep a good flow to the wedding. I have a couple girlfriends getting married in 09 and they too will be going with DJ Pat.

Dj Pat did such a wonderful job at my wedding! We hed lots of compliments on how much fun the music was. Even though on his website you can choose a custom play list, we wanted him to just do his thing and he did just that. He really kept the party going all night and it was amazing. I even heard than my grandmother was dancing while I was outside, and I am so sorry that I missed it!Our coordinator even said how helpful he was during the set up and clean up of the room. That right there says that’s someone that cares. We highly recommend him!

DJ Pat was so awesome! He selected great music for oue special day and everyone had a blast dancing at the reception. When we were planning for the wedding he was very helpful in aiding us to choose songs. He even let my dad pick the father daughter dance and kept it a secret which made my dad very happy. He let the bridesmaids and I know when we had to walk down the aisle. He kept things running smooth without large time gaps even if i wandered off and was easily distracted. He even instructed us on how to cut the cake. He worked with the photographer as well. We were VERY pleased! If you're looking for a DJ--stop right here...DJ Pat is second to none! DJ Pat is incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and very easy to work with. He took great care of us at our wedding and worked really well with our wedding coordinator and other vendors. He made fantastic suggestions for music selection during the cocktail and dinner hours, as well as for the father-daughter and mother-son dances. Everyone commented on our "DJ with the awesome voice" and how he helped to keep our reception full of energy. He kept the reception moving--our guests said everything was perfect!It turns out that we (the bride and groom) had surprises for each other, which required covert work with DJ Pat prior to the big day. The Groom decided to sing a song for the Bride (he needed a microphone + connection to his guitar) and the Bride danced hula for the Groom. DJ Pat helped us both with the arrangements and last minute changes...we wouldn't have been able to pull it off without the help of DJ Pat and our wedding coordinator. We also added the photo booth to our package--one of THE best decisions we made! Our guests LOVE LOVE LOVED it...they had so much fun! We had fun jumping into the photo booth too! We especially love the photo scrap book that was created us for with with the photos and notes from our guests. We've opened it every night since. DJ Pat also promised us all of the photos on CD--we can't wait to see the rest of them!We highly recommend DJ Pat to anyone looking for an awesome DJ!

OMG!!! We got so lucky finding Pat (Sound Prodigy). He saved the day because our other DJ was unable to drive to San Diego for our wedding. Pat was wonderful from start to finish. He took time to meet me near my home to go over the details of the big day.Little did I know how many details go into the music at your wedding. He made me feel great from start to finish. The personalization he did for our wedding was AMAZING...every song had a wonderful emotion attached to it.We will definitely use Pat again :)

DJ Pat did an amazing job, planning a wedding is stressful enough and pat helped so much by presenting different styles of music and different versions of the songs, my husband and I had different thoughts and ideas as far as music and pat did everything to mesh both styles together!! And it all worked out amazing there isn't anything different I could ask for, we even had a conga line through the venue and then when my amazing bridesmaids and friends wanted to put me on the dance floor and serenade me pat made it happen. He was awesome with timing and he made sure all of my "happy" groomsmen and bridesmaids kept their speeches nice and short ;) we def thank you for that!!! Also pat collaborated with my father to do something special before our father daughter dance and that meant the world to my dad! If I could have rated sound prodigy a 10 out of 5 I would have and I definently recommend his services !!!

These guys were great! My initial contact was with DJ Pat, and since he was booked for our date we used Patrick who was also great. They were great with helping coordinate the wedding, and Pat was key in helping us pick music, which we were totally stumped on. I appreciated the multiple meetings we had prior to the event. Ask about the centerpiece giveaway, your guests will love it.

An awesome DJ combined with an awesome same-day coordinator and you got DJ Pat! He's so experienced and he's such a fun guy too! He definitely gave us some pointers as to how to stick with our strict budget and worked closely with our vendors to run our special day. We didn't have to worry about anything that day because he took on a lot of the behind-the-scenes burdens. His website was very helpful, which included not only songs you can request (from a huge library, btw) but also a timeline page to help plan the wedding! This also helped him stay on the same page as us. Definitely would recommend him!

A lot has been said about Pat's professionalism, but first and foremost he is a just a good human being. And when you are planning your wedding you want to surround yourself with good people who are actually happy for your special day. We got them about a week before our wedding because our DJ cancelled. Pat definitely helped us out and his pricing was more than fair. He even cut his family vacation short to meet with us. Pat was already booked for this weekend, but his partner Dennis was available. They threw in two subs for free since our wedding was held at the San Diego Botanic Gardens and the subs kept the party going on the dance floor. The DJ was great for the dance party and good at keeping a flow. We had a great party and wedding and great people to celebrate with us. The dance floor was packed pretty much all night with people both young and old. We had grandmother's teaching us dance moves from back in the day getting down. It was awesome. Pat was very thorough going over the details of the wedding. One or two minor details got lost in translation, but mainly due to the short notice given. We only gave them about 5 days time to prepare. However, the level of professionalism was top notch. Our wedding was so amazing and Sound Prodigy helped make it possible. Most importantly the sound was great and the service was top notch. And Pat even kept in touch with us to make sure after the wedding that everything went accordingly. I can't say enough about how big of a heart this guy has. He has such a passion for the art of DJ'ing and for people. Book Sound Prodigy and you won't be disappointed.

DJ Pat was phenomenal! I honestly owe him huge for all that he did and making my wedding flow so well. He was not just a DJ, he was a wedding coordinator, MC, and entertainer. DJ Pat was the DJ at my sisters wedding and we loved him so we hired him for my wedding as well. He does a great job keeping things moving along, plays great music with a variety for all guests to enjoy, is professional, helpful and patient. We couldn't have been happier.

DJ Pat did the ceremony music, reception music, and karaoke for our wedding last month, and we couldn't be happier! We spoke with him on the phone and met with him several times before the wedding and made quite a few changes, and he had no problem incorporating everything. Everything went exactly as planned, and everyone had a great time! The thing we liked the most about him is that he went above and beyond his DJ duties and almost acted as an "event producer" for the wedding and reception. Before he announced the toasts, he made sure the champagne was poured and spoke with the best man and maid of honor to make sure they were ready. Before the cake cutting, he walked us through what we were supposed to do. Before the father-daughter dance, he made sure my dad was ready and talked to us briefly about the logistics of getting my dad up to the dance floor. And as a DJ, he read the crowd very well and played just the right music to get everyone dancing. Overall, it was great to have all of his knowledge and experience on our side! Highly recommended!

Our wedding turned out great and DJ Pat helped everything run smoothly. He went above and beyond. The music was great and everyone was dancing all night. I have nothing but positive things to say about DJ Pat of Sound Prodigy. He was very patient with me, knew I was in a pinch (was planning a wedding in less than two months!) and was very accommodating.From the moment I met him, he was a perfect blend of professional and fun. I was kind of lost in my music selection, and he helped fine tune the style I wanted. The internet system for song requests on Sound Prodigy's site is really user-friendly, just a few minutes of poking around, and I could easily type in the information and requests. When I did have questions, he responded via email within a 48 hour time frame.On the event day, the music was great. My wedding was outdoors on a beach deck, so he and his crew were prepared for the situation (all we needed to provide was an umbrella to shade his equipment). Even my grandparents commented that the DJ had a perfect blend of modern and oldies music, and he did not behave like an intruding emcee. Overall experience from start to finish was just fantastic!

Dj Pat was awesome and very easygoing! He was very straightforward and gave his opinions when asked. My music was perfect from seating guests at ceremony. To dinner. Dancing. And everything in between and most were songs he choose for us. We just told him what type of music we wanted and he did the rest. Lighting was beautiful also.We also hired him for photobooth. Pictures came out awesome and was really fun for our guests. Worth every penny!

Pat was wonderful! I loved that you can request songs to be played as well as songs not to be played at the wedding. We had to postpone our wedding for 3 years and Pat was still excited to do our wedding. He was fun and upbeat, just what we wanted. He also provided us with some great uplighting for little cost, and I think it made a big difference to the ambience of the reception cite. I definitely recommend Pat as your event DJ.

DJ Pat is a superstar! DJ Pat really made our wedding something special. We are still getting complements a month later. He was so fun, personable and yet professional. He really made sure we were on track with the whole wedding. He really is so much more then a DJ. He was also great during the whole planning process, getting a feel for our personalities and using that to help us pick the perfect songs. He also really did a great job with the reception music, and with zero direction from us. We had so much on our minds and didnt want to create any kind of playlist so we just told him to do his thing, and it was perfect. We added his lighting package to our wedding and i really do think is was the difference betweeen a plain white tent and a party! His prices are very competitive and it's an awesome value. It was a pleasure working with DJ Pat for our wedding. We interviewed several DJs before finally deciding on DJ Pat. At our first meeting, it was clear he was the right person for the job. He demonstrated how he could mix songs on the fly and he helped guide us with the time line for our wedding. Above all, DJ Pat is a true professional. Pat is a professional from beginning to end! From day one, when I emailed him my first inquiry, he responded within minutes after! He worked within our budget, gave us so much value for the money, and is honestly really easy to work with. What's great about Pat is that not only is he a DJ, he's also an emcee, and a good one at that! He has a great voice, and the way he delivers, he makes everything sound good. But he's not the cheesy type of DJ who's all about himself. He dresses all in black and wears a tie that coordinates with your wedding colors (which I thought was a nice touch). I love how he has everything online (eco-friendly), he sets up an account for you to plan your day, select your music, even preview it as well! I honestly can not say enough good things about Pat. We selected DJ Pat from our venue’s preferred vendor list. He was the first DJ we met in person, after speaking to several over the phone, and my husband and I knew right away that we wanted to book him for our wedding. DJ Pat was professional, friendly, flexible and very knowledgeable about his profession. He was willing to meet us in Orange County, twice, even though he is located in the San Diego area, where we had our wedding. Our wedding music, from the ceremony to the reception, was perfect! It was fun, creative, and well thought-out. DJ Pat was so easy to work with. His online event planner is awesome, and really helped us plan our wedding music easily. Choosing the music to play at your wedding is something that takes a lot of thought, and DJ Pat was beyond helpful when we were stuck on something or undecided about some of our choices. In almost every case, we went with DJ Pat’s suggestions, and we’re so happy that we did! So many of our guests commented on how much they loved the ceremony music, how great the music was at the reception, and how they loved the blue lighting in the room (provided by DJ Pat!). Pat told us at our first meeting that he would "make your wedding" and he definitely did!!!! From the planning process to the event itself, he did an amazing job! When our videographer told me at the last minute that he would not be providing the equipment we needed for the video he made, I went to Pat who offered to source the equipment for me and just add it to our bill. He knows customer service, he knows what his clients needs are and his experience in the wedding field allowed him to give us the advice we needed when we weren't sure what to do. He was also able to gage the musical interests of our guests and throughout the night played music that had literally everyone on the dance floor! My husband's aunt who doesn't event like attending events like this was out on the dance floor! We had about 20 kids at our wedding and all of them were dancing! It was a great time and I can't thank Pat enough for making our wedding a night to remember!!

My husband I just got married in May and sound prodigy was our DJ!! He did such an incredible job!!! I really researched many other DJ's in the san diego area and I found that he offered the best options. From the beginning, he was always very prompt in returning calls, also, we live in AZ and he was able to do everything throuhg emails and phonecalls, which was very helpful. I liked how he worked with the photographers and caterers on the wedding day so my husband or I didnt have to worry about what was happenening behind-the-scenes, we were able to just have a great time and listen and dance to great music. Not only did he help set the fun atmosphere of the wedding with his music choices, but also the lighting. You can immediatley tell that Sound Prodigy is truly experienced, knowledgable and passionate about what he does!!!

Sound Prodigy were attentive during planning and very professional during both the ceremony and the reception. I urge all brides and planners to figure out what it is that you want with regard to music, dancing, and wedding coordination, and be prepared during any and all meetings you have with all your vendors before the wedding. It is helpful to have a DJ such as Sound Prodigy to handle the day of coordination, and their up front planning went a long way towards a smooth and very successful wedding day. Even though we didn't hear as many songs as we wanted at our reception, our guests were having a blast and these guys knew what to play/and do, to keep the party moving. That was most important to us. Many people actually told us our wedding was the best they'd ever attended. Seriously!

Great DJ! Had the whole place up and dancing. The owner Pat is wonderful, unfortunately he did get sick on my wedding day and had to send a replacement, but they were great as well! Would have loved to see DJ Pat in action, but Dennis and his partner were also great.

We hired Sound Prodigy for our wedding reception on April 10th, 2010 @ Tom Hams Lighthouse in San Diego. DJ Pat is a true pro, right from the beginning he made us feel comfortable and we could tell he knew what he was doing. He was flexible, took his time to work with us on our song list and impressed us with his extensive knowledge and experience of the entire wedding process. The man knows weddings! He worked smoothly with other vendors and helped the reception flow nicely. We knew we were in good hands from the start, and it was terrific to have him on our side. This was my first and only experience with hiring a DJ and I could not have been more pleased with Sound Prodigy's service. I initially chose them based on a personal recommendation, as well as the professional appearance of the website. This led me to believe their service would reflect the same quality. Pat Connolly met with me inperson prioir to the wedding and was most helpful, opening my eyeys to a number of decisions I hadn't realized were necessary. Sound Prodigy's fee was quite competitive and Pat went far beyond my expectations. He not only did a fantastic job adhering to our personal preferences with regard to choice of music, but acted as a coordinator throughout the evening. He worked with the photographer and other service providers to ensure everything went according to our plan. Though I have no other experience, I do not believe anyone could be more accomodating or professional in their services. the next time I am in need of a DJ, I will not waste my time in seeking any other. Pat was absolutely wonderful as a DJ and as the MC keeping the night moving and everyone having a good time. He was able to accommadate almost everything we asked for on our wedding night and everyone had a great time and the dance floor was always full. I would definitely recommend him and if I ever need a DJ I would hire him again. He spent a lot of time up front making sure we felt comfortable and that was priceless given some of our other vendor experiences and how important the DJ MC is to the success of the night.

By far this is the BEST DJ in San Diego! He was the dj for my wedding. He was there anytime I had questions or wanted to add or change anything. He has so many different types of music to chose from and the best lighting I have ever seen. He was at the reception early and even helped with cordinating the catering company and where they needed to set up. I would use him for any other events and have recommend him to others.

DJ Pat was referred to me by a friend in the hotel industry who said he was the best DJ she had ever worked with...and I would have to agree. DJ Pat put on a great show for our reception. He was very professional, very organized and did a great job helping to direct our day. He also provided the music for our ceremony that was held at the same site, he did an amazing job making sure all our needs were taken care of and helping with the timing of the ceremony. He interacted very well with the crowd at the reception and had the party going from the beginning until the end of the reception.

Take a deep breath and don't sweat the small stuff. All that matters is YOU and your hubby! Things WILL go wrong, or not as planned. It will be chaotic, stressful. But, all that matters is-you and your hubby. My wedding day was perfect! All the details don't matter. Its like you're on Cloud 9. Like time has stopped. It will make things easier, less stressful and more organized if you can find people you know to help or find help through friends/family. Everyone I used was someone that a friend or family member had used previously. Makes you feel a little more at ease. And-take LOTS of pictures! =]

Great to work with. Large selection of songs and even helped us pick our father/daughter & mother/son dance song. Helped put our timeline together and offered day of coordination with our other vendors. Also offered other packages with the DJ service including a photobooth and lighting. We opted for the photobooth and our guests loved it! Also a great website to help us stay organized.

We used Sound Prodigy for our DJ services at our wedding in Point Loma and DJ Pat was amazing. He knows how to keep the party and energy going. The dance mixes were consistent and smooth. As an MC his voice was clear and professional, and he kept everyone on schedule with the flow of events. Several people complimented our DJ and music choices. So overall Sound Prodigy was well worth it. The only small hiccup was trying to do business in person between Los Angeles and San Diego, since we live in L.A. and got married in San Diego. Sometimes meeting in person wasn't all that easy, but Sound Prodigy offers you a webpage where you can organize your playlist, event schedule, and even your special requests. If you're not set on doing everything face to face it's actually a pretty useful tool. Thanks DJ Pat for managing the soundtrack to our most special day!

Overall they provide very good service w/ the value for cost. Pat set up a meeting w/ me prior to wedding to go through the details. We had another guy to be our DJ as Pat was not available. We were happy w/ the service. Only that their e-mail responses were sometimes slow.

I would recommend Sound Prodigy to anyone looking for a DJ/MC. They were very professional in the whole process and also very helpful. When my wedding day came, they made my wedding everything I hoped it would be. Controlled the reception and played music that everyone was into. If you want someone that is flexible, will help you through song choices, and a great value for your money. Then I would contact Sound Prodigy.

we could have reviewed the website together (over the phone)? It would have been nice to be able to add the entire wedding itinary into the website and it seemed there were two places for songs so the first one I opened I didn't think our stuff was uploaded.

We had worked with Pat prior to our wedding. He was excellent at providing ideas/recommendations and helping us in the planning. We did not have a wedding coordinator or a site manager, so we really depended on the DJ to help organize everything. Patrick performed at the actual wedding and I couldn't ask for anything more. He kept us up to date with everything, gave us plenty of warning as far as what was coming up next. He was so professional and helpful for our day. I couldn't have asked for anything better from him

DJ Pat did an awesome job. He far surpassed our expectations. He did exceptionally well at reading out the crowd at our wedding, and playing music that all generations enjoyed. We would definitely recommend him to other couples.

Everyone at our wedding loved DJ Pats lighting and we loved having him be able to coordinate the timeline of when things were supposed to be happening. The only complain that we received from people is that he wasn't accommodating others requests throughout the night. But other than that we loved him and would use him again!

Okay I really like DJ Pat, he is nice, professional, organized, and accommodating (meetings and phone calls). However, I think he should work on being a BETTER DJ and less focus on being a day of event planner or whatever he was doing on my wedding day. Within the first 30 - 40 mins before dinner was served he repeated a song which me and MOH noticed right away because it was "Lean On Me" really??? My husband and I like old school R&B and make it a point to have him focus on that for the dinner part of the night but really...Lean On Me at a wedding come on! We requested so many other R&B classics by Al Green, Otis Redding, Sam Cook, etc... that we didn't hear. So there is no excuse for repeating a song like that, psssss! Additionally, his transitions from one song to the next was atrocious at times! I mean really bad! This was my only fear when we booked him too because I knew we liked old school and classic R&B, Rock, and Hip-hop. We're in our late 20's/earlier 30's and not really into the club/dance music that you hear nowadays, 1 or 2 songs but that's about it. Anyway, for the most part he played the music genre we like and a majority of the songs requested. But there was a point in the night when he was playing some hip-hop and dance music and no one, I mean no one was dancing, the floor was empty! The younger folks where outside on the deck and the older folks (aunts and uncles) sat down 'cause that's not their style of music. I had to ask him to take it off and play some old school/classic jams! As a DJ he should of noticed that on one was on the dance floor for the last 3 songs! His reply "okay, but I was just playing that kind of music" ---- Duh and people were dancing and now they are not! We had some people say he was good and they really like the music he played blah blah blah. But I feel like he was okay. A super nice guy just not the right DJ style for us. In the end I wish I would have followed my gut instead of being impressed with his personality and organizational skills.

I am sorry to say that I wads not happy with the services at Sound Prodigy. DJ Pat was very good and helpful in our consultations, he was patient and took the time to go through many different options for music at our October wedding. Un fortunately the same quality of service did not transfer to the day of. DJ Pat was there for the ceremony but had to call in a replacement for the reception. No one informed me of this so I was a little surprised to see someone I did not know or was comfortable with for the reception. The replacement was nice but some of the announcements I went over with with Pat were never made. Many people told me later that they never knew when the cake was being cut and missed it. I also hired Sound Prodigy to do a photo booth. I was told there would be different color paper and pens for people to use. The only paper provided was black with a silver pen. Some of my guest thought the person working the booth was a little rude and short with them, she seemed like she didnt want to be there. The book still came out nice but on my wedding day I wanted things to go as previously planned and discussed. That was why I hired him. So im sure DJ Pat does do a good job (he was recommended to me) and maybe I caught him on a off day but for a wedding you dont want to take a chance with a vendor that might have their off day on your wedding. If you hire him for photo booth get the details in a contract! He emailed me a week later to say sorry for leaving and I wrote him back with my concerns but I have not gotten a response...

The one and only song that we put on our "DO NOT PLAY" list was played. It wasn't the biggest of deals and our guests enjoyed it. But I personally detest that song and did not want it played. And the fact that it was played just showed the disregard that we felt from DJ Pat. Songs that we had on our "must play" list were not played, even when guests went up and requested them. DJ Pat ensured that so long as a song was easy enough to find, say on iTunes, it was no problem. So it was quite a disappointment when our guests told us they went up to request songs that were on our must play list, and DJ Pat said that he didn't know the song. During our wedding reception, I even went up to him to confirm that he received our play list, and in a snarky tone he said, "Um, yeah." So why didn't play our requested songs? My other frustration with DJ Pat was that it was quite difficult to get a hold of him at times. I often had to send repeat emails or call several times to follow up on things. That's the last thing a stressed out bride needs! My only guess is that we somehow weren't a priority since we only needed DJ Pat for music. He also emcees and coordinates the day's events as part of his services, but we already had our own friends acting as emcees and we had our own coordinator working on everything. I will say that DJ Pat was kind, courteous, and genuine during our meetings leading up to the actual wedding. We were referred to him by a vendor that he highly regards, so he was kind enough to throw in some discounts and gave us the photo booth at a huge discount, and for that we are very thankful. But when we look back at the actual wedding reception and think of how many let downs there were, well, let's just say the negatives outweigh the positives. I don't think we will be recommending DJ Pat to anyone based on our experience.

DJ Pat was AWESOME! We couldn't have made a better choice.
