We were lucky enough to have George be the DJ for our wedding in Pleasanton. The meeting with George before the wedding was great, we went over every little detail of the wedding. We could not have asked for a better DJ, and we had so much fun at our reception (actually more fun than we had anticipated and we can thank our DJ for this). We highly recommend Sounds In Motion!!!

We had Glenn for our wedding and even though he wasn't the DJ that we were referred to he did an amazing job. Our party was such a blast. I seriously couldn't leave the dance floor to chat with my guests but everyone had a great time and the party was great until the end. Glenn also helped out a ton since our venue was slacking in organization. He definitely ran the show and made sure people were where they needed to be without making us feel pressured or rushed.

Let's start from the beginning...

Empire, California; 1995; Teel Middle School

I walk in to my school dance to find an older man (I was 12, he was in his early 20's) with big muscles, a backwards hat, and denim overalls blasting all of my favorite songs through the school's cafeteria. We learn the DJ's name is George and he and his brother have started their own company.

Modesto, California; 2010; Sounds in Motion Offices

Like all the other girls from my jr. high, we remember DJ George for turning school dances into the BEST parties of all time. He DJ'd every event for us until I graduated high school. We all knew DJ George had to be our wedding DJ. As I walk into his new office, I can tell he's come a long way since denim overalls and a minivan. He remembers the 12 year old version of me, and right away makes my fiance' feel part of the story while we talk about the past. He gets to work helping us layout the wedding, and schedules our follow up meeting.

We meet with George a second time, and get to work planning out all the music for the event. George knows every song I'm talking about, and is open to hear new music he's not familiar with. An hour later, my entire wedding timeline is set with music cues, and transitions.

Jason was our DJ for the wedding, and was awesome! He was professional, and made sure to know the key players at our reception (parents, maid of honor, best man, etc). He kept the flow, kept things moving, but never once did anyone realize we were rushing through things because Jason didn't let the urgency show at all. The night was perfect, and I can't imagine how it could have been done without Jason.

Sounds in Motion takes the time to make sure you get everything you want, and go above and beyond and make it a reality. It's Sounds in Motion or nothing at all for us from here on...

Sounds in Motion company, and more specifically DJ George and Simone were amazing to work with. We were not living in the area the time of the wedding and they were very flexible and accomodating to our needs, whether it be a phone appointment or squeezing us in in person. We wanted our wedding reception to just be a fun, relaxed party and that's exactly what we got. The dance floor was packed the entire night and everyone, young and old, enjoyed the variety of music. Our wedding reception was everything that we hoped for and DJ George made that happen for us.

Being newer to the area, I had no idea where to turn when starting to plan my wedding. My old roommate from college recommended DJ George and Sounds in Motion with flying colors and with her having been in like 20 wedding parties in the area over the past 2-3 years (literally), I trusted she had the first hand experience to give a recommendation. She definitely did not disappoint! DJ George was awesome from the moment I went to our initial consultation through our wedding night. He personalized every step of the way for us, and in the end we had unique ceremony music and a wedding reception that gets brought up at everyone ELSE's wedding we've been to since! (sometimes I feel bad, but hey.. they didnt book sounds in motion so it's not my fault we rocked it more with DJ George!)

It's been 6 months since our wedding and when we look back to that night, DJ George definitely helped us make a statement that night :) Young and old, all of our guests rave about our wedding and the energy the dance floor had. He kept the dance floor packed and even stayed over because the party did not want to end. On top of being so much fun, the relations between Sounds in Motion and my coordinators at Del Rio show how much this company is respected by all in the industry. My photographers were even excited to see who my DJ was. DJ George books up very early, I grabbed him over a year in advance as soon as my friend made it apparent i "had to book him". SINGLE-MOST BEST DECISION I MADE IN ALL OF MY WEDDING PLANNING! The DJ can definitely make or break a party, and with sounds in motion you can bet your party will be planned perfectly, the way you want it, and executed with Class, style and enthusiasm! I can't wait to attend my friend's wedding next fall (the one who gave me the recommendation) with none other than DJ GEORGE leading the party!

I can not begin to express my appreciation and happiness with Sounds in Motion. Appreciation from start to finish, DJ George was flexible in meeting with me and my husband at times that worked best for us (sometimes 8pm to 11pm) everything we wanted and more was offered and suggested to us. We didn't need to look around for "extras" Sounds in Motion has it all. I wish I threw big parties, weddings, etc all of the time. DJ's can either make or break your event, in my case my wedding... I wouldn't dare go to anyone else. I have been to countless weddings DJ'd by them and there is never a dull moment. It is especially a treat when it's DJ George. The DJs really get the crowd moving and their variety of music is vast. They have it all. It was such a great experience working with George. When my father and I couldn't come up with a song for our father-daughter dance in Spanish, George came to the rescue and we couldn't have been happier with the song choice. Knowing we were working with George, we didn't worry about the flow of our wedding. They are the best!

I am not sure where I should even start with this review... I guess I'll go back to when I first learned about/experienced DJ George/SIM's professionalism, enthusiasm and amazing all around business... When I was in high school, a dance wasn't a dance without DJ George!! As part of the leadership crew at our high school, I know we did whatever it took to be able to have George as our dance DJ- including rescheduling dance dates if they conflicted with his schedule. I knew then that if and when I ever got married, I would never even consider having another company DJ my wedding. That time came and I got married last November. Sounds in Motion was one of the very first vendors I contacted- a year in advance. Being that George is as incredible as he is, he was already booked for my wedding date, such a bummer. :( I knew though that he would make sure and give us another DJ on the SIM team that would be amazing as well...
Every single detail involving wedding planning was made so much easier and less stressful because of Sounds in Motion. From the second we sat down for our first meeting to discuss details with DJ George, I was at complete ease. He makes his clients feel more like friends than "just another couple." Even though he is crazy busy, and incredibly booked up, we still felt like we were the only wedding that mattered to him- true professionalism in the wedding industry. He spends more than enough time with each couple making sure he has every last tiny detail about the wedding to make sure the day is flawless. He also worked wonderfully with our photographer - it makes it so nice to know everyone involved is on the same schedule.
We ended up with Jason as our wedding DJ. He was amazing- just another example of what a wonderful company Sounds in Motion is..
We hadn't met Jason until the day of our wedding, but just like George, he made us feel like we had been friends for years. He was perfect and he truly made our wedding the amazing experience that it was. From the time we arrived at the reception hall, until the last guest left the dance floor, Jason was all about US. He did everything a perfect DJ should.
Looking back at our entire wedding experience, we feel so blessed to have had Sounds in Motion be such a huge part of it...Wedding planning wasn't really my thing, it was pretty stressful. There are very few parts of the planning process that I can look back at and smile... Working with Sounds in Motion was definitely one of them. :)

I have worked with DJ George and Sounds in Motion for several years in the wedding industry, and also had him DJ my own wedding reception. From a professional stand point, he was the perfect MC for the wedding expo I organized. He energized the crowd during the fashion show, and kept the day's events on track.

We got so many comments on how great our DJ, George, was! EVERYBODY (our friends in their mid 20's and 60+ family) at the wedding had a BLAST and the dance floor was packed the entire night!

You don't just book him and then have him show up at your wedding...this is a full service DJ! He told us during the first meeting (we were checking our dj options still..) that he doesn't work with people if they don't want to come back to the studio and spend at least 3-4 hours planning the wedding with him. The studio is really nice and he has TONS of music to choose from. When you do return, he has a check list in 15 minute intervals of what should be going on during the wedding...literally planning everything.

During the meetings he wants to get to know you and that was awesome because during the wedding he was able to make comments about my bride and I like he knew us...and it just made the whole wedding more personal for everybody. He danced with my single aunt and all the bridesmaids were in love with him! He definitely knows how to get a party started!

Also, his fiance owns a tanning salon so if the bride or bridesmaids are looking for that, he can help.

Overall, it was WELL worth the money spent.

George was increadible. Not only did he meet with us on the same day we called him for a quote, but he met with us in an office! He was attentive to our needs and made sure that the music at our wedding wasn't just background noise to fill in the time between the ceremony and the cake cutting, but instead the music enhanced the entire wedding experience. I could not have asked for a better DJ. Sounds in Motion is a well-oiled machine and yet completely customer focused. They sat down with my now husband and I and went over every detail that we wanted for our wedding. We discussed the obvious topics, "What songs do you love, what songs do you hate?", but then they took it a step further. They asked about the formality of the event and what we would like them to wear. Overall, I was told over and over how smoothly the entire evening ran (thanks to George and team) and received countless compliments on the DJ. Many of my guests said they had never had so much fun. DJ George is the best Disk Jockey in town! I knew before I was even engaged that he would be at my wedding. He is very professional but also knows how to loosen up a crowd. He is able to read a crowd and know exactly what it needs when it needs it. Sounds In Motion is enthusiastic about working with people and most of all they LOVE what they do!

When I started hunting for a DJ service for my daughter's wedding, I had no idea where to turn, or whom to choose, so I started hunting online and came across the name "Sounds in Motion"-and boy, am I ever glad that I did! Right from the very first contact call, I could tell that George was an awesome and professional person, and after the whole family trooped into his office for an initial consult, we could see that our first impressions were correct. George was incredibly professional, knowledgeable and as an added bonus-hilariously funny. He explained what their company did clearly and showed us many different options of services from which to choose. After meeting with him, and seeing how much great customer service was such a priority for their company, it was really a no brainer to choose them, choosing anyone else would have been plain foolish. On our second visit, with future son-in-law in tow, we went through the wedding timeline and all that it entailed, George ever so patiently waiting for the bride and groom to finally make their song choices, even being gracious enough to change a couple after they got home and realized that they liked Song A better than Song B. I felt so bad about throwing that at him, but he took it all in stride and got it all worked out perfectly, always with a smile and a positive caring attitude.

On the day of our wedding, we got to meet our DJ Cody, and he came all spiffed up, even though he didn't have to-especially in that sweltering 95 degree heat! He was wonderful, always energizing the crowd, checking to make sure the guests were having fun, and always checking with us before each event to make sure we were all on the same page and where we needed to be at that time. When the bride became overcome with the heat during the cake cutting time, he quickly (and quite smoothly) directed everyone back to the dance floor and made sure there was no awkwardness and confusion. He got our there on the dance floor with us and did the cha cha slide and made sure to encourage everyone to get on out on the dance floor and have fun. As if that wasn't enough, at the end of a very loooooong night, and AFTER he had already packed up all his equipment, he came into where the bride and groom where gathering up their things and getting ready to leave, where he then proceeded to strum a ukulele and serenade them with a very sweet medley of songs, which brought the bride to tears-happy tears, of course! (DJ Cody, you have a really nice voice!)

I would HIGHLY recommend this company to everyone who is in need of a superior DJ service, you get waaaaay more than you pay for, that's for sure!

Sounds in Motion DJ from Modesto was a very professional and helpful service. They take the time to help you coordinate your wedding and give suggestions when you are not sure of what kind of music you may want for certain events (cake cutting, last song, etc.)

Dj George and Dj Jerry were absolutely wonderful at my wedding. They kept everyone dancing and involved the guest. They were very helpful in keeping the wedding reception stay on schedule. Their lighting fits every occasion. They make you feel like every song played has meaning to the couple. It's been ten years since they played at my wedding, and all I can say is they have gotten only bigger and better than ever!!!!!

They are GREAT! Cody was our DJ and he was fantastic! We had the challenge of dealing with Sounds in Motion from afar but it was wonderful for the most part. They did everything they could to accomidate us and do what they could to make it work.

The DJ we had the day of our wedding did not cut it for us at all! The owner George is great! I have seen him DJ and he was amazing. However, he was booked for our wedding day and was told his brother would take care of us. Well...we had a 2 hour meeting prior to wedding day to specifically choose all our music we wanted played during dinner and dancing time and let's just say that our DJ did NOT play any of what we asked! We were extremely disappointed!!! My fiance was furious. One, because we specifically asked that most of the talking be in Spanish as 99% of our guest were Mexican! Our DJ was talking only English...we had to ask him twice to please talk in Spanish mostly. And two, we specifically asked for certain artists and songs to be played during dinner and for the opening of the dance floor and we heard nothing that was on our list! On top of that, I (the Bride) specifically asked for a song that day 3 times! DJ told me he would play it and he NEVER did!!!! My bridesmaid even went to him and said, excuse me, the Bride is waiting to hear her song and he still NEVER played it! Talk about RUDE!!!! And....the amount of time that he played for what we paid him, not worth it at all!!! Needless to say, we won't be using them ever again!!!!
