Reviews for Southern California Weddings - Rev. Bruce Danzara
Rev. Danzara is an officiating machine. He schedules weddings extremely close together, which was the case for us. Our wedding started about 15 minutes late, due to a road closure (many guest were late arriving). We weren't worried since our ceremony was barely 10 minutes long (i.e SUPER SHORT!) But, Rev. Danzara decided that he was in too big of a hurry to perform our full ceremony. So, without asking us, he cut a huge chunk out of our ceremony, simply skipping over our favorite part. Our ceremony was stunningly short, and we walked back up the aisle confused and pissed. We figured he had somehow skipped over everything by accident, but he told us that he shortened it because he was in a hurry. No apology from him. I spent the post ceremony photos fuming with anger. We should have known he was a bad choice from the start, since we could never get ahold of him and he never returned our calls or e-mails. I'm still angry.
We haven't been married yet, so this review is based on my experiences with him up till this point only (3 weeks till wedding).
He is very personable, and made us feel comfortable instantly. What was really nice is the option to CUSTOMIZE our ceremony with him. That, and the fact that for the rest of the ceremony, he has a script in place, where we get to choose what he will say for each area. I LIKE this. I have heard WAAAAAYY too many horror stories about some of the things that get said by the officiant during the ceremony; so it is nice to not have to worry about this.
He even told us a story about one wedding he performed, where the groom's ring was dropped and fell out of sight right as they were about to exchange rings. Rather than worry and stop and potentially ruin things in the middle of the ceremony, Bruce slipped off his own ring and handed that to the Bride to use instead. Then, after the ceremony, they were able to discreetly find the missing ring.
