EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT!!! Everyone loved the food. Everyone loved the bar. Everyone loved the service. They even attended to me before the wedding with drinks so I would be less nervous! Loved them SOOO much!

When you book your event at the Millstone at Adams Pond, you must use Southern Way Catering.
If you book them for your wedding reception, make sure to schedule a tasting. We did that. We found out what we loved, didn't want and settled on a menu that all of our guests were sure to enjoy.
Kristy was great and attentive to allergy concerns and also made sure we had a plate (or several) to take with us post reception.
Your guests will love the food.
Just be warned, food prices add up, so do your homework before signing the...

Jesse Bullard with Southern Way Catering was amazing from planning to the day of service. He left us wanting for nothing. He catered to our every need the entire event from drinks during the photos to a private dinner in the groom's suit.

A little bit more expensive depending on what you want but they totally work with you on price and menu. Could not have been more pleased with the food and the amount of comments I got on it.

I had my wedding in Folly Beach and they were more than happy to cater in Charleston. I let them know my budget and they were spectacular at designing a menu that fit my event and my budget! Once we had everything decided I did not have to do a thing. They contacted the rental company and set up delivery and pick up times. They handled everything from start to finish! They were extremely patient with me when I was making crucial decisions. I never felt pushed or rushed! Excellent and extremely professional!

They catered a company event I attended in mid May 2011. Food was great. That being said, the reason I am giving them a below average score is because, for their price, they are on par food-wise with other price-comparable caterers (i.e. average quality for their price range), but their service was horrible, which knocked them down to "poor." They just didn't handle themselves well, and didn't do anything to diffuse the situation, which was a lot of frustrated party planners and patrons. The two women working the bar were slow, they made nasty faces and rolled their eyes when some of my coworkers made complicated or massive drinks orders (like shots all around, which apparently took up too much counter space and deserved an eye-roll). They also started closing our bar at 10:30 PM, when the party wasn't supposed to end until 12. Apparently, it takes them 1.5 hours to clean up, and when you sign a contract with them for 5 hours, you get 3.5 hours of service and 1.5 hours to stare longingly at the Bud and vodka as it's packed away into a cooler...They didn't do anything at all to placate us, like pack away the complicated stuff, but continue to serve the simple cocktails and leave the finger food out while they packed away the rest. Anyway, it's a lot of semantics and contract mumbo jumbo, but they were just plain nasty about it and treated a lot of us like children when we were being perfectly civil (the level of inebriation was certainly too low to be closing the open bar). Our party planners were also very specific in stating that we would be "partying" until midnight, so that would mean to most reasonable caterers that you plan to work until midnight, give a quote for 5 full hours of service and then maybe your standard 1.5 hours of clean up, and try to avoid any miscommunication. They did not clearly state this policy knowing we would be expecting a party (with food, drinks, and everything) until midnight. To the two women working the bar, you know who are you are: you should be polite and know how to smile, no matter how annoyed you are, if you work in the service industry, especially when your patrons are being perfectly civil. I wouldn't recommend them. Go with Capital City Catering instead...their brisket sandwiches and shrimp and grits are WAY better anyway, and they're just NICE people

Beautiful and wonderful! The food was delicious, the service was great. Kristy was so helpful with the planning and follow through of every aspect!

The food was gorgeous and delicious! It's expensive, but they're definitely flexible and willing to work with your budget. Kristy had lots of suggestions for us and cheaper alternatives when what we wanted was too much.. the final menu was perfect and all of our guests were full and happy!
PS - They even took a recipe I'd found online that wasn't on any of their menus and were able to make their own, much better version for my big day.. and it turned out to be quite a hit! Great caterer to work with!

From the minute we first met with them, to the time my new husband and I left the reception, everything was fantastic. The staff is very professional, extremely accommodating and had great ideas to help us arrange the venue well and help our guests enjoy the evening. Our reception was at Leaside, one of Southern Way's owned venues. I can even say that all the food was tasty, because they thought to pack us a complete picnic basket of food so we could try everything later that night!

Although expensive, all of our food was delicious. It was all beautifully presented and enjoyed by us and our guests. There is a lot of flexibility in the menu as well.

Excellent food, worth the money.

Everyone who got to eat at our wedding (not us, sadly) raved about the food and how good it was. I think it was expensive, but we got what we paid for as far as quality and service. I would highly recommend them to other brides.
