I will admit I was a little apprehensive with Space City because Jason was booked for our night and we were going to be using Steve (and there weren't many reviews on Steve) and then right before our wedding Steve has a family emergency and we get a differently DJ instead (who had no reviews!).

I'm happy to say Mike did a great job. He always checked in with us to ensure we were on point and on task. Everyone complimented us on how on schedule and efficient our wedding was. Mike stayed out in the hot sun for our ceremony to the point where he actually had to shower in order to stay professional (and changed and showered so quickly, we didn't even notice he was away). He handled our game day decision changes to the program with ease and didn't even blink when it came to the ethnic names in our bridal party. Our guests had an amazing time at the dancing portion of our wedding and it was over all wonderful.

I'd also like to thank Jason. He came out at all hours to talk to us and at various location. He gave us a discount on our lighting because of the last minute change of our DJ and he was very professional during all meetings. It eased my apprehension knowing that Jason hired our DJ since his professionalism would run into his crew.

We loved having DJ Jason Garcia from Space City Entertainment at our wedding! Right off, we got a really good vibe from Jason when we booked an appointment with him over the phone. We met him at his office twice, first so we could get to know him and vice versa, second time to go over specifics of the reception and song choices. On the day of the wedding, Jason was punctual and responsive to the crowd. He really took into account everything we had talked to him about. He was a great emcee -- not too intrusive so that he was talking all the time, but he always spoke up when we needed to get things moving. DJ Jason Garcia did an outstanding job at our wedding ceremony and reception. He arrived early and acted in a professional manner. He had a wonderful attitude throughout the wedding. The music was exactly what we wanted and more! He followed our playlist exactly and was perfectly on cue. Additionally, he took the time to discover the genres of music we wanted and the types of music we didn't want. He is thorough in his efforts to create the perfect personalized playlist for the occasion. The communication was wonderful and he made sure there was a song choice for each event (such as the garter toss and bouquet toss). I wasn't disappointed at all, in fact he went above and beyond our expectations. I will definitely use Space City Entertainment for future events and highly recommend its services.

Jason was amazing!!! We are self proclaimed "Yelp-ers", we research, rate, and review everything. After attending two different Bridal Extravaganzas and not feeling a connection or finding what we wanted from our DJ, we looked up local DJ's through google and found Space City Entertainment. After reading their reviews and ratings, we agreed to call them and meet with them. From the moment we met Jason and his team they were nothing but professional. We instantly felt a connection with Jason, he treated us like friends- not just clients. We ended up signing a contract with them the same night.
Since our wedding, we have had numerous people tell us that our wedding was the best wedding they have ever been to (including their own!). I believe Jason was a huge part of why. He kept everyone dancing and having a blast for 6 hours straight. Being that we come from different backgrounds we wanted a WIDE variety of music to keep our croud of 250 people entertained- Jason made it happen. We also took advantage of some of the lighting options- AMAZING! The uplighting really just made the visual appeal of the reception come together.
Needless to say, we would proudly recommend (and actually already have) Jason and Space City Entertainment to anyone looking for a DJ.

Jason was a great DJ! The dance floor was never empty and he did a wonderful job at making both the younger and older crowds happy. We had given him a list of songs that we liked, not necessarily had to have played and he did a good job at getting a feel for our taste. There were a few songs that I wasn't a huge fan of, but after a certain point in the night, no one really notices! He is also really good at taking cues about cutting a song shorter (so your first dance isn't that full 4 and half minutes!). I was very happy and everyone had a great time!

Space City Entertainment really did a wonderful job. The guests all loved the dinner and dancing music the DJ selected. I received compliments all night. It all was a lot of fun and ran smoothly because of the DJ, Steve. These guys definitely know what they are doing!

Jason was the DJ for my wedding and did an absolute amazing job. He played exactly the type of music we wanted, and he played to the crowd, he definitely read them and played what he knew they would enjoy. He was the MC and did a great job announcing what was going on and he made sure everything was in order and amazing. We got so many compliments on him. He did a great job.

I have so many great things to say about Space City Entertainment! I chose this company because I attended a wedding that Steven DJ'ed at and was really impressed with how he "made" the wedding due to his excellent ability to judge the crowd and continue playing what was keeping people dancing. Although the wedding I went to was English only, I needed a bilingual DJ since my fiance's family is Spanish speaking. Luckily Steven speaks Spanish very well! When meeting with him prior to the wedding, he was very helpful in making suggestions of what songs to use and how to organize the reception to keep things running smoothly. The reception went great and he took control of making the announcements and keeping us on schedule. Everyone had a blast!

Jason was the DJ for our wedding in Houston on 9/10/11. He did a terrific job getting the party started and kept it going until the last dance Jason accepted our play list for the dinner music and made sure that every song we wanted was played. We were told of Space City Entertainment by another DJ who was booked the day of our wedding. Jason and his Team did an incredible job! Jason kept the young and old on the dance floor the entire night. In addition to his great music, Jason supplied us with great ideas for our wedding. When searching for a DJ, Jonny and his company responded immediately to our request and was the only DJ to come to us for our first meeting. He arrived dresses very professionally and had wonderful examples for us to view including lighting options, photobooth, and more. Space City Entertainment provided us with pin lighting, up lighting, a bogo, a photo booth, ceremony music, cocktail hour music and the perfect playlist for our reception. My wedding was on April 30th 2011 at Las Velas in Houston, TX. Johnny Black was the DJ and also provided the lighting for our wedding. We originally booked another DJ for our wedding earlier on in our wedding planning. As it got closer to our wedding date we began to have issues with the original DJ we had chosen. With some quick research I was able to find Johnny with Space City Entertainment. From our first meeting with Johnny he made my husband and I feel very comfortable and confident that he would provide us with excellent DJ services. Johnny was very honest and advised us against adding thing on to our DJ package that we would not need. Johnny was very profession and maintained contact with us up until the day of our wedding. On our wedding day Johnny made sure to get the party going by playing music that everyone was comfortable dancing to. Johnny was not only able to get the young people on the dance floor but also most of the older guest such as our grandparents, aunts and uncles. I even was able to witness my mother dance; which I have never seen in all of my 28 years on this earth. I mean any DJ that is able to get my mother to shake her nerves, loosen up and get on the dance floor deserves nothing less than a 5 star rating. So thank you Johnny and Space City Entertainment for giving my husband and I lasting memories and contributing to our dream wedding. We had Space City Entertainment provide DJ services for our recent wedding at Ashton Gardens. Throughout the entire experience, Jonny Black has demonstrated to be one of the most professional individuals i have ever met. His experience in the business, his friendly demeanor, and his tireless efforts to satisfy the customer's needs is nothing shy of outstanding! During our reception, the music selection and atmosphere was exactly what we had been hoping for. I would highly recommend Space City Entertainment to any of my friends. Choosing a DJ was one of my top priorities while planning our wedding. I did not want anyone that was cheesy, appeared unprofessional or unable to smoothly lead my guests through the timeline of the night. I had read countless horror stories about how DJs ruined receptions. So, it was important to find someone that was able to mix music, keep the events of the reception on time and create a party atmosphere. I found all of these things in Space City!

Before I even began seriously looking into DJs, two of my booked vendors (cake and linens) separately recommended Jason and Space City. After the second mention of Jason, I called him and set-up an appointment. Not only did he spend 30 minutes on the phone with me, but he even agreed to have our meeting at my house and bring a speaker (so he could prove to my dad that music would fill the entire reception room). Jason was so professional, friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly reflected a passion for what he does. I really enjoyed listening to HIM get excited about our night. We booked Space City that night – no hesitations.

Jason had our final meeting at our house as well. It was during that time that he displayed another ‘extra’ Space City offers – caring about their clients. I had found out that my reception coordinator had left our venue. I was very concerned about the reception running smoothly as I did not know the new person in charge. Jason repeatedly reassured me that it was his job to run the night and create the party. I felt 100% better after our meeting because he was right – a DJ will make or break a reception.

Our reception was wonderful. Space City provided beautiful uplights that filled the reception with a really romantic glow. The music genres that my parents really wanted to hear were played and then transitioned into the music my husband and I wanted. Jason kept all the reception events on time and created a great party. Jason even came to say ‘hi’ while we were eating and I felt comforted even by chatting for a couple minutes!

I would highly recommend Space City to any bride looking to have a really fun reception. There are not a lot of vendors out there that truly care about their clients or what they do, but Space City does.

Jonny Black came through for us right when we needed him most! After having some drama with some other djs we were ready to find the right fit and we did! He was a great listener and did EXACTLY what we asked! Not only did he do great with the music but he was also a great MC! But as far as the music goes...he kept everyone on the dance floor during the entire time and did a wide variety of types of music per our request. We had every age from 2 yr old to grandmother on that dance floor and many of our guests raved about our DJ! Many brides do not want to deal with vendor drama getting ready for YOUR BIG DAY! Jonny was absolutely incredible! After searching through all the other dj services in Houston, we met with Jonny and never had a single worry - he made the whole process so easy and always remained in contact with us. My hubby felt good about the choice too, which was so important to me! When we met them, Jonny and the guys were dressed professionally, could pick up on exactly what we wanted, and were enthusiastic the entire way through the process! The weekend of the wedding, they actually had been hired for so many weddings they had to call in some help from Signature EvenTx for our wedding - Reggie and Michael were absolutely amazing! Everyone was telling us all night how great they were and how smoothly everything went. They would check in with us when something else was supposed to happen (ie, cake, dances, bouquet/garter toss) but other than that, it was just smooth, effortless, and I didn't have a single worry - plus they played all of our songs and read the audience so well! We used Space City Ent. for our wedding 3/6/11. Working with Jonny was wonderful...I couldn't have picked a better DJ. He was professional from the start, very detail oriented, conscientious about all aspects of his field, reliable, punctual and dependable! My soon-to-be husband was the anal one and Jonny patiently listened to what we wanted and he accommodated to our needs. At our wedding, Jonny kept the music rockin' and quickly adjusted to fit the crowd's response. He was very easy to work with. I highly recommend him for any celebration.

Jonny was great, I was looking for a bilingual dj with latin music, he was excellent and very professional. He also mixed our first dance, my husband I practiced it before the wedding.

Jonny was very accomodating in this whole process.. Out of all of my vendors, I liked him the most. He sets the standard for making the client happy versus having the client accomodate to the vendor.. We had made a playlist for the entire evening for Jonny to play and he made sure to do as we had wanted which made everything more special and even when things were a little off timing, he was great at keeping you on task. He is very much recommended

Jonny and Jason were awesome. We booked him about three months before the event and they were incredibly helpful. Again, this was a vendor that we did not meet until the day of the wedding. We coordinated everything via phone and email which I know is a challenge for a busy vendor like Space City Entertainment. Also, he is an incredible person. Our DJ budget got cut due to some family circumstances and he was more than willing to accommodate and let us know what he could do for us within our financial guidelines. Many of the other DJ’s I contacted and told my budget were a bit rude and were unwilling to edit their pre-designed packages to entertain my needs.


Not only was the DJ a nice person, which I learned is a rare quality with wedding vendors, but he was a REMARKABLE DJ. We had a bit of a weird playlist during our cocktail hour and during dinner, but he was happy to include our personal tastes into the playlist. He understood that we wanted a bit more of a rock angle and totally went with it perfectly. Secondly, he was able to lace in all the songs that we had specifically asked to hear. Third, he made the reception go so smoothly by announcing when events were going to happen, getting people on the dance floor, even making a joke here and there. He really made the reception go smoothly by understanding the flow of a wedding and the events that were to follow each other. Johnny also did a great job transitioning songs from one to another. After the wedding Chris said “I always thought DJing was kind of an easy job, but now that I have seen him do it right way and how they have to know the music, transitions, and beats I can see that it takes a lot of skill”. If that isn’t a testament to somebody’s knowledge and skill, I don’t know what is.


He also got everybody on the dance floor in a circle around us for our final formal dance which was the perfect way to end the night. He was even awesome enough to remind everybody to grab sparklers before they left the reception. Honestly, Space City Entertainment and Jonny and Jason are probably the reason the reception was able to go so smoothly and the reason that our guests had so much fun.

We found Space City Entertainment after commitments from other DJ's fell through. It was the best thing that could have happened to us. Space City Entertainment rocked the house! The music was perfect and all the guests kept commenting that they were torn between eating their meals and hitting the dance floor. Jonny and Jason were very professional and responsive to our wishes. He provided some of our favorite songs and lots of enthusiasm. It was a perfect ending to a PERFECT day!

If we could rate Space City Entertainment on a much higher scale, we definitely would! Unfortunately, the highest overall rating allowed on here is a 5.0 but we received 1st rate service all around. Jonny and Jason did such an amazing job throughout the whole process of planning. I shared our vision of what we wanted and the end result was beyond our expectations! From the first meeting, he was able to get an idea of the atmosphere we wanted to create for our guests and even shared some of his own ideas to make it even better. There were many times we changed our minds on the wedding ceremony song and other certain meaningful songs being played and he was always so accommodating and patient. Any time I called, they were available. The "party" (reception) as I like to refer to it, was AMAZING. My entire family was on the dance floor the whole night and even my husband's family (who doesn't dance often) was out there enjoying themselves. If there was one thing I could have changed about that night - it would have been paying for an extra hour of dance time!! We had a blast and the DJ was definitely one of the BEST choices we made. Outside of providing music, he also provided lighting which made the site even more intimate. You will NOT go wrong hiring this company for your BIG day. Thanks for everything!! :)

If only we could give 10 stars! If you're a bride looking for DJ services, BOOK SPACE CITY ENTERTAINMENT. The co-owner of Space City, was absolutely fabulous at our reception -- definitely one of our top 3 vendors. Jonny and Jason were professional as they come. He dresses impeccably and was always punctual. He took copious notes at all of our consultations and offered invaluable input. His turn-around on emails was unmatched. Bottom line: we booked him immediately after our first meeting and did not even bother interviewing our other DJ possibilities.

Space City provides the highest quality of DJ services, far superior to its competitors. We received more comments about "how awesome that DJ was" from our guests than any other vendor. The DJ provided us with a detailed itinerary for our big day, and he perfectly coordinated the reception. We gave him free reign with the dance music selection and couldn't have been more thankful. With all the responsibilities and potential for something to go wrong on the biggest day of my life, one thing I was confident in was the Jonny and Jason of SPACE CITY ENTERTAINMENT. I never even heard them play prior to the wedding day, but their air of professionalism and charm sold me from the point of our first conversation. Additionally, he had a reputation that was out-of-this-world fantastic! It was risk living in California, and trusting that he’d deliver the day of my Houston Wedding. He is knowledgeable in his craft. He understands the meaning of family, the expectation of a good time, and the class and elegance of a wedding. He was able to please my youngest guest to the oldest. I have never attended a wedding where the dance floor was jammed packed the entire night. I love watching the video and knowing that it was my wedding that brought so much joy, dancing, and funk; but, the credit goes to our DJ. He engaged the crowd and kept the night flowing without interruption. Space City Entertainment will be the best investment you make for your wedding. They have knowledge of local venues and vendors to compliment your desires. Everyone still compliments me on my selection of such a wonderful D.J. Family members have even called to get his contact information for their upcoming events. I wish I lived locally because Jason is the kind of guy you’d want to promote and call for any occasion. Honestly, the DJ made my wedding a true success. He’s better than any wedding planner, coordinator, or vendor you can purchase. If you do nothing else right, you can rest assure that he is a great choice and will take your occasion to heights you've never even imagined. He is personable, pays attention to detail, will tailor your wedding to your style and desire. The night was so spectacular and if I had to do it all over, I’d choose Jonny and Jason every time!

Jason Garcia was our DJ for are wedding on 10/23/10 and he did a fantastic job. He was so professional and we didn't have to ask him for direction once. First and foremost, these guys are absolute professionals. They take their time to ensure you exactly the atmosphere you want for your big day. From the moment we met our DJ Jason, any anxiety we had about our DJ went out the window.

Besides that, these guys know music (of all genres) and definitely keep the crowd involved. He was less of a DJ and more of a coordinator in keeping the evening flowing from one ceremony/activity to another.

Jonny Black and Steve Monte made our wedding ceremony, pre-reception and reception a total success! We combined multiple cultures from Louisiana, Panama, Trinidad, Brazil, and The States and everything flowed well. Space City Entertainment provided audio/sound services during the ceremony and up-lighting as well.

DJ Monte wore a nice suit and matched our wedding colors with his fuschia/magenta colored tie. Our service was both in Spanish and English and DJ Monte was able to deliver in both languages and work seamlessly with our Master of Ceremonies. Overall, we found the company to be professional from start to finsh (pre-consultation to delivery at the event).

Jason Garcia is the best in the business! He took time to meet with my (now) husband and I to find out what our idea of a good DJ is and what type of party we'd like at the reception. I must say, first impressions truly are lasting...the first time we met Jason, he was dressed to impress and very willing to answer the (many) questions we prepared. Music is very important to both of us, so the DJ service was crucial. We immediately hit it off! He has experience in the industry, but he's still young and current with music. He's a good guy and just a pleasure to work with!
Since our wedding (3/24), we've had nothing but compliments on what a great party it was. Everyone had a blast! No doubt, that has A LOT to do with Jason and the music. At one point, I stepped off the dance floor just to see it from afar, in the middle of the reception...the packed dance floor was bobbing up and down together in unison and every face was smiling and laughing. It was an amazing feeling.
Jason also did some wonderful lighting in the reception ballroom. The uplighting was placed strategically around the room with beautiful colors...it gave tremendous ambiance to the room and went perfectly with the decor. And the spot-lighting on the cakes was perfect!

I was very pleased with the services I received. Everyone at our wedding thought the DJ was very good and did a good job choosing the music. The MCing was also very good. The program didn't go exactly as planned, but Jason improvised quite well and none of our guests even noticed apparently. Overall good experience. Only issue we had was that we ordered some lighting, and the lighting wasn't as dramatic/obvious as we wanted. However I was told it was because the lighting in the venue was too high so it washed out the colored lighting we had, so it's not Space City's fault really. I took off 0.5 off for value/cost just because it was a bit over our budget, but overall he did a good job.

I co-coordinated my company's holiday party this year and Space City Entertainment was recommended to me. Contracted with them on the spot because of the great deal on cost and professionalism they provided. Closer to the party they had to send another DJ because they were short staffed but regardless their replacement represent Space City very well! All of the employees were impressed with the one the spot requests! We will definitely be using Space City Entertainment for our future events. Thanks for a great time Space City!

Everyone at the wedding loved the music. Jonny was great at getting the crowd going and everyone dance the whole night. The price is also very reasonable and I would recommend him strongly!

Space City Entertainment was the perfect choice for us and our wedding. Jason Garcia was recommended by our wedding planner, Samantha Darr at Soiree Bliss Events and I'm so glad we went with Jason! We were looking for something different and not a just-push-play-on-ipod kind of thing, and Jason delivered. He spins on real turn tables which is oh so cool, and was really receptive to music selections and overall feel. He did our lighting and gobo as well which was just beautiful. Space City is from Houston, and he traveled to Dallas for my wedding. He even came up beforehand to check out the space and talk with our reception coordinator. Very professional and very good at what he does. During the wedding he even made a point to come by and make sure he was playing the music we wanted. He was also very receptive to anyone asking for songs and played them right away. I took off a star for quality of service because the sound wasn't quite right. The reception venue (Union Station) is really tricky with sound and even though the sound was great on the dance floor, if your not on the floor the sound was muffled and speeches were somewhat difficult to understand/hear. Something that should've been checked before. Other than that, great job Jason!!!

Many of my guests complemented the music at our wedding. We also picked a few obscure songs to play, and Jonny played them without any problems.

Space City was great! They would have my full recommendation for any friend's weding or event. They worked with us on providing additional sound during the ceremony and were able to creatively display our monogram in a difficult setting. Our guests even commented on how good the dj was! My husband and I got married on Sept 3, 2011 and we had Jason as our DJ. A friend of ours that had recently been married in June recommended him and I am so glad we took her recommendation. Jason was super nice and great to work with. It took him a while to respond to emails, but that never got in the way of his ability to provide a great environment for our wedding. I gave him a list of songs my husband and I for sure wanted t be played and asked him to add songs as he saw fit. Our guests raved afterwards about how our wedding was the funnest they had ever been to, largely due to the DJ. He played a perfect mix of music and was never one of those annoying DJs that doesn't stop talking because they like to hear their voice. He was so fun and created a great envrionment for our perfect wedding reception. I highly recommend Jason with Space City Entertainment for any event.

Jason was amazing. We knew the moment we met him he would be perfect for our wedding (we cancelled our other appointments). He understood what we were looking for and really listened to what we wanted and didn't want at our wedding. We had a good mix of people attending the wedding and he successfully got everyone up and dancing all night long. I still get compliments on how great the wedding was and how much fun everyone had dancing. I heard one friend say "I just jumped up and down....I don't do that".

Jason was also great with our ceremony and provided the lavaliere mic and sound system outside for the ceremony and minister. He was there early to set up and made sure everything was doing the necessary job. He brought the playlist and needed songs on five devices just to make sure everything was there and ready to go. He was also a great MC and just kept the night moving as we wanted it to.

He was also great at adding in a monogrammed light GOBO the last week. That really made our photos pop.

I would hire Jason again and again. I'm hoping I can find a reason to need a DJ again soon just so we can dance like that again!!! So much fun!

Jason DJ'ed our wedding at The Magnolia Hotel and did an amazing job. He really knew how to read the crowd and kept the dancefloor full all night! All I had to tell him were the "special songs" we wanted and he picked everything else. We had a country/classic rock/80s dance kinda thing going and it was perfect. I did put a 4 for the value because there were definitely less expensive DJs out there but Jason was worth it. At first I was sceptical because Space City only had good reviews so I was worried they were fake or something but they were right on!! Jason did a fabulous job and I would definitely recommend him to any bride/groom.

Our dj, Steve, was THE BEST!!!! We had an eclectic group of guests which required different music to played and he got it all done. We were running late and he was able to make all of our transitions go so smoothly.

Great service. Definitely kept the party going all night long. Really knows how to feel the crowd and keep everyone on the dance floor. Unfortunately some of the equipment failed during the ceremony (microphones). DJ untucked his shirt and undid his tie during the reception.
