Special Event Rentals
We rented all of our table linens, napkins and 2 30-inch cocktail tables (for our escort card display and cake display tables) from Special Event Rentals as they were the only vendors that carried black and white striped linens in our city.
Initially, there was hiccup with regards to the incorrect length of table linens special ordered due to the lack of attention from one staff member, but this was immediately rectified when the Rentals Supervisor, Janice, voluntarily took over my booking in an effort to put my mind at ease with respect to being reassured that the correct size of table linens would arrive in time for our wedding.
Janice was absolutely WONDERFUL in rectifying what could have become a negative vendor situation! Based on the helpfulness and attentiveness of all other staff members (with the exemption of the initial customer service representative), I would recommend Special Event Rentals in terms of the variety they offer, reasonable rentals rates and flexible pick-up and delivery terms!! :)
Great company for one-shop-stop necessities for a wedding! We were able to book a wedding day planner from here as well who was incredible with her advice, knowledge, and help on everything from what we may need, things we may have forgotten, and tips on what to do for a smooth day. The decorations turned out amazing and better than we could have imagined and it was such a relief to not have to worry about the putting up and taking down. The company was professional and a pleasure to work with, even offering to match prices from other places (although renting decorations is a tad expensive overall, we didn't find cheaper prices anywhere else). We also went there for our invitations and it was a great experience. The knowledgeable staff were very helpful and our invitations turned out lovely. Awesome company with great staff!
This review strictly pertains to the service I received from Kristina McNally at Special Event Rentals.
Kristina is an amazingly warm hearted, organized and passionate individual. She responded to my emails (some non panicked- some panicked) quickly and very informatively. She let me know she was taking care of us and made sure everything went perfectly.
She went above and beyond the call of duty and was truly an amazing person to have on our side. She is very talented and has great taste for decorating as well. I highly recommend her for any decorating advise and rental needs as well as for wedding planning services. She is very passionate about what she does and it shows!
The gals were awesome. Were very helpful dressing up the mock table. Everything was ready the morning before and looked beautiful.
The decor of my wedding was one of the main highlight for myself and my guests. Special Event Rentals special ordered linens that matched my request (bright orange) and the rest of the items were modern and well taken care of. The staff was professional and easy to work with. We were able to make changes as time passed and we all know this important to brides. I highly recommend this company to any couple planning a wedding or any event.
The tables and stools were exactly what we ordered, but their timing was less than perfect. The order came in a day early, which wasn't in our contract with our reception vendor, and they picked up the order TWO days late, which was DEFINITELY not in the contract. If we had known that, we could have picked up and dropped off ourselves, and got the job done correctly.
Couldn't have asked for a better vendor...I checked lots of places, and they were the best value...but just a hint - if you are planning to rent table cloths, check Dollorama first...
This vendor is fantastic. You can adjust your rental up to two days prior to your event, so when aunt Julie expresses interest in coming with her 8 children, but calls a week before saying she's sorry but can't make it - you're not going to spend more money than you HAVE to! They also have a large selection of everything you could want to rent for a wedding - from forks to chairs to the kind of keg tap you want. Its awesome. And not too pricey either. Unless you want to rent a tent. Then things get pricey real fast. For a tent to seat 40 people and a dance floor big enough for them, it'll cost you minimum a grand, plus tax, deposit, and damage waiver. They rent tents for any size party - probably would set up one for a thousand people - and charge you an arm and a leg. But if you have money to spare for your big event - go for it! Its gorgeous :)
Looking for just the right items for a wedding can be difficult and time consuming. Several times I wondered if renting certain items would be the right route to go.
I went to the website for Special Event Rentals on several occaisions, and found that renting items there was simply preposterous.
When I had particular difficulty finding a wedding arbour, I searched again, but the costs at SER were simply not reasonable.
I also found that the website was difficult to navigate, and sent me in loops. This was not helpful at all. The search engine on the site did not provide many matches. Many of their items showed in more than one category, so that I was looking at the same things on different pages.
Poorly organized, badly priced. Did not get my business.
The party rental section of the store is fantastic they were very helpful and explained everything we needed to know.
The wedding section of the store is a bit understaffed especially on a Saturday, the store is clean and the staff they do have are knowledgeable and helpful when you finally get to talk with them.
