HISTORY:

Accomplished sailmaker Steve Sperry founded Sperry Tents in response to the classic American inspiration: necessity. To accommodate an expanding guest list for a family function, Steve first created a tent from sail cloth in the late 1970s. The whimsical project grew into a serious business with the collaboration of Steve's sons Tim and Matt providing labor as they learned the family trade. Today, Sperry Tents are made with the traditions and knowledge of hundreds of years of American sailmakers.

Do you have a showroom available for the client to come preview rental items?

We currently have an office in Fairfield County where we are happy to meet and show you samples of our tents, flooring and lighting options.

How far in advance do you suggest reserving rental items?

We suggest booking when you feel comfortable. Certain times of the year are busier for us than others and we only confirm a certain number of events per weekend to ensure each customer receives exemplary customer service. Your Event Planner will work with you and provide you with details on the best time to book depending on your weekend.

Can the order be modified close to the event date?

Your event can be modified anytime before the installation date or even the day of the event depending upon the modifications. Your Event Planner can work out these details with you.

What if I need to cancel my order?

Sperry Tents Greenwich requires a 50% non-refundable deposit of the total tent rental upon booking. However, depending upon your circumstance, we can always discuss cancellation costs.

What are your hours of delivery?

We deliver generally between the hours of 7am - 7pm, but we will always accommodate your or your venue's wishes for installation and break-down. Each installation is customized to your event timeline.

Do you have a minimum order size for delivery?

No tent order is too small or too large for Sperry. We are always available to customize your order to your special event.

When planning an outdoor wedding or event it is important to remember one thing in particular...IT IS YOUR DAY!!

Here are 3 characteristics to look for when you are outfitting your outdoor event:

1) Customer Service. You are doing much more than renting a tent and amenities for your event. You are contracting a service. You should receive highly professional, individualized service. From the initial phone call, the outfit you selected should be with you throughout the entire planning process.

2) Efficiency. There will be a lot of activity leading up to the event date. Planners, florists, caterers, photographers, and other event vendors will be sharing space with the selected tent company. Efficiency is extremely important. An ideal tent company will arrive on time, set up the tent and custom flooring and lighting quickly and efficiently, and leave the venue as clean or cleaner than before their arrival.

3) Quality. Your outdoor event should be unique and special. A tented event, dressed with elegant lighting and décor can create a refined outdoor ambiance. Beyond a high-quality tent, it is important to have premium lighting and flooring options. Flooring can convert an outdoor venue into an elegant ballroom dining setting. Creating a magical glow for an evening event, lighting can dress the tent’s interior with elegant ambiance and décor.
