Spring Haven Mansion

We booked our daughter's reception at Springhaven (site unseen) after searching web sites for months! After my initial call to Cara, I was sure that this was the perfect place. Cara and Kevin guided us every step of the way and ended up being like part of our family. The venue was breathtaking and everyone in attendance was overwhelmed by the beautiful surroundings. Cara and Kevin were there throughout the entire reception - from start to finish, making sure everything was perfect. I haven't seen the pictures yet, but Kevin worked the entire event and I have no doubt our special memories will be captured. I highly recommend Springhaven to anyone looking for a special place for your special day!

Our daughter was married on 10/10/10 at Spring Haven. This venue is so beautiful. There is no need to spend lots of money and time on adding to the look – it is all there for you! They gave us suggestions on vendors, but allowed us to make the decision on who we selected. There were no hidden fees, charges or agendas! Everything they said they would do they did. We booked Spring Have a year in advance so during the long planning process as questions came up I found email worked well for communicating. Once the day finally arrived we learned Kevin and Cara truly go above and beyond to make sure your day is perfect. They were visible at all time either working with the vendors, parking cars, assisting guest, snapping photos, or checking in with us to make sure all was good. I would highly recommend Spring Haven for your special day! Ours was perfect!

Spring Haven was a beautiful place for our event. We had an excellent experience with the owners Kevin and Cara who went above and beyond to make sure our day went off without a hitch. They answered any and all questions I had and did everything they could to make our day special. We went with one of the packages on the website and everything went very smoothly. Our guests all really enjoyed themselves. Spring Haven is such a beautiful place and we would highly recommend it!

The minute we set foot on Spring Haven we knew it was the perfect place for us. We loved the beautiful landscape as well as the convenience of having our ceremony and reception in the same location. One of our favorite parts was that there was beautiful green space for the younger guests to run around and not be bored! Kevin and Cara Hogan are extremely friendly and warm souls, and they were such a delight to work with! They were flexible and caring, and we really felt welcomed at Spring Haven. They really know what they are doing, and we never felt overwhelmed or left in the dark!

SpringHaven Mansion is so beautiful that it required very little for me to decorate thus making everything a little bit easier. The owners are very obliging and knowledgable people. They already had some of the items that I otherwise would have had to rent and bring on the property. They helped with coordinating valet for me and just made the whole process so enjoyable!

The venue was amazing. They were very responsive to any changes we wanted to make, and were extremely friendly and comforting during a time of stress!!

Movable Feast Inc - Catering has been catering at Spring Haven Mansion for 3 years. Spring Haven is a very hospitable location that presents a fabulous back drop for a story book wedding. The manicured lawns takes you back in time when the mansion was in it's full glory. Due to Spring Haven's mature greenery, the mansion is secluded from any city noise and is very easy to access from main street Hendersonville. My crew loves working at the mansion because of it's location and the work environment is very friendly to vendors.

The catering facilites both indoors and outside lend themselves to allowing the caterer to present a fabulous food event for weddings up to about 200 guests. The catering kitchen has adequate prep countertop as well as a stove and refrigerator. The large covered screen porch area is excellent for banquet food tables. The lower screened areas is perfect for the bride's and the groom's cake as well as an efficent beverage station.

The new stone patio (which is usually tented)and walk area keeps the flow of traffic running smoothly for all guests. The catering staff can easily bus the tables during the events and be off property at the allotted time.

Spring Haven has been very accommodating to many catering special requests such as providing a prep area and tables when having an event that uses glass and china.

We highly recommend this location to brides that want to have a memorable wedding!

We LOVED the location---the look was beautiful, looked even better in our photos! The owners were a little difficult to communicate with at times---but in the end it all turned out beautifully!

My mom and I found this place by accident and it was absolutely beautiful. Cara and Kevin, the owners were so nice and helpful. The property was amazing and the backdrop was just perfect. They allow you to have whatever vendors you want which is really great. One other thing I should mention is that it is about 20 min from downtown Nashville but it's worth the drive and 10 X cheaper than anything in Nashville!!
My only complaint was that the photographs that were taken by Kevin weren't the best and there were a bunch that I wanted that didn't get. So I guess if you are going to rent here I'd definitly recommend it but maybe try and get your own photographer.

Spring Haven Mansion is a beautiful venue. Kevin and Cara Hogan were very easy to work with and we were completely satisfied with them...until we got back from our honeymoon. That's when we realized how unprofessional they were. Kevin Hogan was our photographer and his services were included in our package, which saved us a ton of money! But, they had a hard time keeping all of their responsibilities organized and many tasks were forgotten about which lead to them being late. Kevin told me I was be able to view all of my wedding photos on a website they go through a week after my wedding. Three weeks later...half of them were on there. Another week later, the rest were on the website. There were also issues with returning e-mails: If I sent an e-mail and Cara did not know the answer, she would leave the e-mail then forget to ever respond.
The mansion and the scenery were absolutely amazing. Our ceremony was absolutely breathtaking. Our wedding photos were absolutely gorgeous. The entire visuals of our wedding was a dream come true. This location was perfect in every way...except for the people running it.

Spring Haven was a nightmare to deal with during the planning process, however when the day of the wedding arrived they were wonderful.

The Good: Went over and above in order to ensure we could have an outdoor ceremony. It rained all day up until about an hour before the ceremony and Kevin was outside with dryers, rags, and anything else he could find to dry off trees, chairs, and the aisle. Cara was very helpful making sure I got to the aisle without getting my dress wet by holding up my dress and helping me walk around any puddles. The venue itself is very beautiful.


The Bad: They were extremely misleading about what they did provide and what they did not. When we first met with them they repeated over and over that there were no hidden charges and they took care of everything. They were explicitly asked about providing linens (we even had a checklist, so we had this in writing) and they said they did provide them. After the contract was signed they informed us they do not supply linens and we would be responsible for moving chairs from the ceremony to the reception. They actually suggested that we ask our guests to move their chairs from the ceremony to the reception!

We would not consider a venue that could not accommodate our 7 piece blues band, it was the single most important part of our reception and was booked prior to the venue. At the time of signing the contract this was fine with the venue. Afterwards they repeatedly told us they would shut down the band of they were too loud and continually asked us to downgrade to a jazz trio. I have no doubt that they would have shut down the band if we hadn’t had a Hendersonville City Council member in attendance. The bridal suite is minuscule, and I thought it was ridiculous that they required an extra $75 to unlock a door which expanded it to a reasonable size. The inside of the mansion is off limits to guests, had I known this prior to booking we would have passed. Our guests had to use a bathroom added to the back of the house and accessed via an exterior door.

We live out of town and arranged for an on-site meeting, as I had not seen the venue (my husband booked it after visiting in person without me). There was nobody at the venue when we arrived, and no way to get ahold of them. Later they called us back and rearranged for us to come out a few hours later, but implied that it was my fault for not calling to confirm. Kevin is a know it all, and loves to avoid wedding related questions by talking about himself or the house, he especially loved to name drop. He made a racially insensitive remark to my florist also.

We were only allowed a 7 hour block of time, and I wish I had pressed to purchase additional hours (they brushed me off when I brought it up, but I should have been more insistent). This included all setup and teardown time, and in order to have a 4 hour reception (they tried to make me think this was uncommon and talk me out of it, but I had the band for 4 hours and we were dead set) we had to cut back on setup time. Everyone had about 2 hours to setup, and barely 1 hour to breakdown and get off the property. Because of the rain earlier in the day this caused absolute chaos, I didn’t have time to see anything prior to the ceremony, several details were not setup properly, and it was sheer madness trying to get everything broken down in time. My biggest regret about my wedding is not going with a venue who would allow us to start setting up earlier. I worked so hard on so many details that weren’t set up correctly, or were left out all together because of the rush.

Spring Haven Mansion is a beautiful historic home. The perfect setting for an outdoor wedding. Kevin and Kara are helpful and fun to work with. Their knowledge of the history of the home is facinating. You will want to be sure to have Kevin give you a guided tour! I highly recommend this venue.

Springhaven Mansion is one of Nashville's best historic homes for weddings. It's located in Hendersonville near the lake and has a rich history. The owners are a husband and wife team that work along with their staff to help you have a truly special wedding ceremony and reception. It is one of my favorite places to go in Nashville for a wedding. -Ralph Griggs
