If you are looking for a small intimate place to have your wedding, St. Augustine's Church in rural Nova Scotia is what you are looking for. Located in a Monastery that is currently occupied by nuns the church has recently been redone with beautiful stained glass windows and gorgeous paintings on the walls. It is a small chruch perfect for a a wedding with a small number of guests. There is a river and fields near by that would be a perfect backdrop for pictures after the ceremony. There is no fee for using the church but it is suggested that you make a donation to the church because that is how the nuns, priest and the other workers are able to stay there, the donations of people in the community.

St. Augustine's Church will give you a beautiful wedding for your money. It is quite pricey for a church, but you get what you pay for and they do have a beautiful church. They are not as flexible as some churches are. For example, you can't have flower petals tossed in the isle (even with a runner down). They have odd rules for photographers. We were able to complete our rehearsal on time thanks to Dottie. She will run things. Our priest was not available for rehearsal, but the day of the wedding went by so smoothly. I'm extremely happy with getting married at St. Augustine's.
