St. Louis Ceremonies

Ruth was EXCELLENT. I had found her online when the pastor that was suppoused to marry us, bailed last minute. As soon as I met her she was on top of everything. Asked all the questions that even my husband and I hadnt thought about yet. She made us feel comfortable throughout the planning process. She emailed me copies of our Ceremony drafts and revised them ASAP. She was on time and very professional at our ceremony. I wouldnt of picked anyone else. Thanks again Ruth:)

My husband and I have attended several weddings where the ceremonies were simply awful (names being mispronounced, ceremonies that never end, guests being evangelized, etc.). We wanted to make sure we had a ceremony that was special to us, and enjoyable to our guests as well. Ruth provided us with the ceremony we hoped for. Her experience, light personality and professionalism make her one of the best officiants around! My husband and I (plus our parents) were delighted with how Ruth conducted our ceremony, the most important part of our special day.

Ruth was EXCELLENT! She met with us before we contracted her, and we both knew she was meant for us! She was genuinely interested in getting to know about us, what we envisioned for our unique interfaith ceremony, and was also a great resource for scripts/readings/etc. She worked with us to write an entire script and let us make additions/changes as we wanted, until it was perfect for us. Our ceremony was beautiful and we were both so glad to have Ruth conduct it!

Ruth Ellen was with us every step of the way as we planned, and changed (and changed again) our ceremony. She was incredibly flexible, with great suggestions.We knew immediately upon meeting her that we would be comfortable with Ruth as our officiant. She is professional, with just the right amount of fun. Our ceremony was perfect, as Ruth smoothly transitioned through each part. I highly recommend St. Louis Ceremonies! You will be delighted!

We found Ruth on Wedding Wire, and so we were hesitant until we met with her in-person. Immediately she asked a ton of questions to figure out what sort of couple we were and what sort of ceremony we envisioned. She allowed us time to think it over, but we ended up booking her on the spot. Following the meeting she sent us tons of sample vows, blessings, readings, etc. so that we could get some ideas of what we wanted in our ceremony. She also sent us a questionnaire to fill out separately so that she could get our own interpretations of each other and our relationship. She used our selections and the questionnaire to develop a truly personal ceremony and sent us the draft well in advance of the big day. She accepted our few changes, and sent us the finalized draft weeks before. And, little did I know, but she worked with my fiance to surprise me during the ceremony. We were married at the Zoo and my fiance bought a personalized brick at the ceremony site to mark the occasion. He contacted Ruth to incorporate this in the ceremony, and Ruth tied this into a unity ritual. I was completely surprised and impressed that she was able to develop such a history to tie this gift into the ceremony so well. She was the utmost professional, and we will happily refer her.

She did a great job with the ceremony and respected our desire for the ceremony to be non-religious. We were kept up to date with information on her writing of the ceremony. She was excellent at directing our rehearsal and made us feel that the ceremony would go smoothly. Various friends and family have commented on how much they loved the ceremony after the wedding.

Ruth was willing to learn the sign language to our vows and it gave our wedding a personal meaning! She is awesome!

I contacted Ruth to set up a meeting with her and my (now) wife, and when we sat down, Ruth was completely professional, prepared, and ready to accomodate. In that first meeting she not only showed us that she knew what she was doing, and how to put together that was completely tailored to what my wife and I wanted out of our ceremony. She assuaged any fears we had that there were specific parts of the ceremony that we couldn't customize, and really took the time to get to know us then so that we could, together, create our perfect ceremony. My wife and I didn't really have many specifics, and Ruth was brilliant in providing us with many examples or readings, songs, poems, prayers, and vows. I cannot stress enough how easy Ruth made it for us to put together a ceremony we would love. She was ready and open to anything.

When it came time for the rehearsal and ceremony, Ruth was even more prepared. Weeks in advance she had a draft of what the ceremony looked like, and we were able to quickly finalize things. Our wedding party had 16 total individuals, but Ruth had no trouble corralling us all, and helping us go through the ceremony step-by-step so that it would go off without a hitch the next day–and that it did. On the day of, she was there plenty early and ready to start. She ran through everything with us briefly once more, and then it was time. It was beautiful, and truly everything my wife and I could ever have hoped for. It was a perfect representation of our partnership, and the love and respect we had for not only each other, but each and every person present at the ceremony. Everyone we spoke to commented on how wonderful the ceremony it was, and we know it wasn't lip service. Ruth took the time and energy to really work with us, get to know us, and put together something that will be with us forever. All that to say, I cannot recommend Ruth Hasser enough to anyone looking for any kind of traditional or alternative ceremony.

My husband and I really enjoyed working with Ruth for our wedding ceremony. She was a huge help when putting together our ceremony, has a great energy and sense of humor, and a deep respect for the commitment couples are making. She loves what she does!

We really enjoyed working with Ruth. She was very professional and always quick to respond. She really listened to what we wanted, and the ceremony was wonderful. She even did a good job of making my husband more relaxed while he nervously waited for me to come down the aisle :)

Ruth was very great to work with especially when our main concern was getting the ceremony we wanted. All of our friends and family have commented how wonderful the service was and how it truly represented our love for each other, very personal. In addition my husband is deaf and she was more than able to work out a ceremony that he was easily able to participate in. This is what we wanted for our wedding and she had no problems accommodating. She is a great woman and is able to get a large group working right at rehearsal. I am so glad that we found her for our ceremony and recommend her to anyone who is looking to craft the ceremony they want for their special day.

Ruth made sure our ceremony was a success; we were both very pleased with her throughout the planning process, the rehearsal, and during the ceremony. She was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, calm, and very reassuring. I would recommend her to anyone.

Ruth was a wonderful wedding officiant. We chose to have our wedding at a B & B in Hannibal as it was a central location for family and friends. The B & B had a wedding package that included a minister, who turned out to have a fundamentalist perspective. As we have lived in many places and learned about many faiths, this was not going to work for us. So with less than a month left until the big day I emailed four officiants Sunday afternoon. The next morning I got a call from Ruth. She had gotten several requests but called me because she likes to serve rural areas that don't have non-traditional officiants. We made an appointment to visit by phone after we had a chance to review files Ruth would send.

Ruth sent files so we were able to design our wedding and select our blessings, readings, prayers, marriage and ring vows. My mother passed away five years ago and I felt her loss acutely at this time. Ruth suggested remembrances during the ceremony for her and my husband's parents . Our ceremony was truly a reflection of who we are and what we wanted to share with our families and friends. People were genuinely touched. Ruth had such a warm and wonderful way of addressing us and everyone gathered. Ruth introduced herself to many of our guests; it was evident that she could make everyone feel at home.

Ruth came upstairs to see me very shortly before the ceremony. She sat down and asked how I was doing. She seemed prepared to hear anything from me. I really appreciated having a quiet moment to simply relax and reflect on how I was feeling as I was preparing for this big event that I was basically in charge of. This quiet pause in the middle of everything was so welcome, and I didn't even know I needed it!

From the moment we met up with Ruth we both knew she was the right person to officiate our ceremony. She listened to what was important to us and guided us through the process from day 1. There was never a time where I felt I couldn’t reach out to her and ask questions or tweak things regarding our ceremony. Her responses were always quick and helpful too. She brought a professional, fun and also caring tone to our ceremony.

We had plenty of our guests, after it was finished mention that it was the most original & unique non-traditional wedding that they’ve been a part of, I loved hearing that & it’s a testament to how well Ruth does what she does.

We LOVED working with Ruth. She is so open, responsive, and helpful - she truly helped us to tailor a ceremony that was PERFECT for us... and did not put any undue pressures or requirements on us (a challenge we had when searching for the right officiant) We HIGHLY recommend her!

Ruth did an excellent job of helping us decide how we wanted our service. She offered samples to choose from and offered lots of suggestions about choices to be made. She was very professional and even helped when we had a crisis the week of the wedding.

We were looking for an officiant that would be responsive to our needs and vision for our ceremony. Though Ruth adapts and caters to each individual couple, we were looking for a non-religious, semi-traditional ceremony. Another aspect that was important to us was the officiant should be respectful of all couples - regardless of their sexuality. Though we are male and female, we have many friends that are not afforded the same luxury of marrying that a man and a woman currently have in many parts of the country. We were pleased to learn that Ruth performs civil ceremonies of all kinds, as well as ceremonies for other milestones. Anything we can do to support others who do this is important to us.

Additionally, we both have PhDs and I (the bride) did not change my name. We needed someone who was willing to introduce us in a particular way, instead of, "Mr. and Mrs. ____."

Beyond these points, though, Ruth was outstanding. She was informed, responsive, and quick to answer questions and concerns. On the actual wedding day, I viewed her as a calming presence before the ceremony. She was actually the last person I saw before I walked down the aisle, as she was reviewing her notes in the bridal suite. During the ceremony, it was clear she had rehearsed and gone over all the points that were important to us to emphasize. We were able to completely customize the entire ceremony - ring vows, vows, the way everyone proceeded down the aisle, etc. She was very flexible and willing to go with whatever we came up with. She also provided a lot of helpful information in terms of previous vows and wedding styles others had used.

One of the most touching and memorable pieces, though, was something that happened during our very first meeting. We had not retained her services yet, and we were just going over the particulars of what we wanted during the ceremony. I had just recently lost a close family member of mine, and I was still very tender. She inquired whether or not we wanted to honor loved ones during the ceremony, and I of course got to thinking about my family member, and just burst into tears, right there in the Panera Bread Co. we were meeting at. I had only known Ruth for 30 minutes, but she was just so comforting and KIND. I felt this immense warmth from her - I felt that she cared very much for me. She did not pressure me to stop crying, just sat with us patiently as I explained my recent situation. She shared some kind words with me as I wiped my tears, and I knew after that moment that we had found a perfect fit.

I cannot express how much Ruth meant to us during our entire wedding process. She was just phenomenal.

I was very happy that we picked Ruth as our officiant. She was very personable and made the process of planning a ceremony so simple. Our families also mentioned how impressed they were by her. We couldn't have been happier with our ceremony.

Ruth was great! When we met her, we were at ease with her personality and way of doing things. She gave us assistance and advice but let us choose how we wanted to design our own wedding ceremony. My wife and I came from different religious backgrounds, so designing our own ceremony made things much less complicated. Ruth performed our marriage ceremony in November. She was very easy & fun to work with. We met with her in person to interview her and then worked with her via email communication to complete a couples questionnaire. She had numerous weddings at the same time so she was a little delayed in getting us our first draft but she kept us updated as to her progress.

We edited the first draft and were satisfied with it. She came to our rehearsal and we worked through any last questions. She was prompt and professional and we had no fears that there would be any mishaps.

The wedding day went without a hitch and she performed a fun and llovely ceremony. She took care of all of the license details for us so that we wouldn't have to worry about it.

Ruth Ellen Hasser was an amazing officiant and we consider ourselves so lucky to have had her as a part of our wedding day! From our first meeting with her we knew she would be the perfect fit, as she was warm and funny and clearly invested in helping us to achieve the exact kind of ceremony we envisioned. My husband and I wanted to write our own vows and Ruth helped us complete what initially felt like a very difficult endeavor.
