My mother and I met with Jim, he's was personable, great we hired him. He had no personality, he mumbled into the mike. We were to do our first dance after we made our entrance, there was so much time that went by that we were just standing there. Awkward. Announced the mother/son dance with no music playing -- husband told him just play something. DOC asked him to come in earlier to set up for ceremony since it was in 2 different spots, he would but it would an extra $50 and he needed to be paid up front. I could on and on.... very disappointing.

Okay so I'm guilty. I read the reviews and went ahead anyway. He assured me these were rare cases and that he had 40+ years of experience. He seemed nice and professional both through email and over the phone. I figured for every complaint against him, he must have several successful events that weren't posted.
I actually hired him for an event I was throwing and not for a wedding, but that makes what I have to say very important. DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN! He will ruin your special day.
Set-up was supposed to begin at 3 with show starting at 8. After telling me he would get into the venue and check out the equipment before the show, he didn't. He didn't show up until 7. Guests were already arriving and it was a rush for him to get ready in time.
I provided the playlists for before, during intermission and after the event on a flash drive and numbered the tracks to make it brainless. He somehow kept repeating the same songs making us about an hour late starting our event as I waited for my performance song to queue.
The other performers brought music as well, and he failed to load them before they hit the stage so many had to wait for him to download to his computer...or for him to find them. The burlesque troupe performing even brought detailed instructions with tracks numbered as well. He got one of the 8 performances right.
Despite my request for a low-key event with a simple spotlight, he brought several layers of lighting and even set up giant poles in front of the stage blocking the view of some of the performers.
Despite the cocktail attired event, he showed up in see-through white dress shirt, shorts and black tennis shoes.
He also asked for the money as soon as he got there. Now I know why. He fled as soon as the event was over or I would have requested a refund.
Again, DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN. You want your day to be a special one. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Absolutely the most unprofessional Dj I have ever meet in my life! Not only did not he stop responding to my wedding planner days before my wedding. He was unprepared the day of. Almost every song requested was not played. The songs he was able to play only lasted a minute then he would cut them off and start another song. He was supposed to play only clean and appropriate (non cursing) verison of songs and when confronted about an inappropriate song that was being played he lashed out with RACIST and vulgar language about my family & friends attending my wedding! I ended up having to have him escorted out of the building right in the middle of my wedding reception.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DJ TO ANYONE!

Showed up 50 minutes late to a 1 hour rehearsal. Then told us he had to walk back across the park to get his equipment for our music. By the time he came back I had let the wedding party go home as it was about to rain and my venue was outside. They (wedding party) never got to hear the ceremony music until the moment they walked down the aisle!
On wedding day he had our ceremony music !!!!!!BLASTING!!!!! and he was told to turn it down but refused. There was a noise ordinance in the park we were at and he was told that we could get fined if the ceremony music was loud enough for other patrons to hear. ---He STILL wouldn't turn it down.
We paid extra for 2 sound systems to be set up (one at the ceremony site and one at the reception area) he only had one up at the ceremony site. When it came time for the reception he had to lug all of his equipment back to the reception area. By the time he got there we were half way done!
We had him do a mix for our fun dance and he didn't correct a couple of glitches I had pointed out in an email. When it came time to do our dance the mess ups were still in there and it ruined our dance,
He refused to listen to my wedding planner. I would send word through her that it was time to do this or that and he would just do his own thing. We paid for fog machines during the reception and he didn't bring them.
He works several jobs and seems very scatter-brained. I would recommend anyone to get a FULL TIME DJ. Not one that is doing this and 3 other jobs literally! I DO NOT RECOMMEND !!!!!!
