Stella's Bakery

Stella's Bakery is by far the best the best wedding cake in the area! I received friendly personal service from Stella herself, and was able to create a unique wedding cake specific to my wedding style. We had to pick up our cake from the bakery as delivery was not an option - but that allowed us to keep our timeline on track.

Stella's cakes are exceptional - beautiful and delicious. Her mousse cake is the way to go. No one else's cake can compare. Stella is easy to work with and reasonable priced.

Stella was wonderful to work with. She helped pick out just the right cake for our wedding. The cake was so moist, delicious, and beautiful. We received a lot of compliments from our guests.

We have enjoyed baked items from Stellas Bakery located in Rockville for several years. They maintain an excellent level of quality and are always friendly and helpful. It was an easy decision to have them provide the cake and they did not let us down. Their white and dark chocolate mousse cake was superb and wowed our guests. The best part, a large piece left to take home and enjoy for a few more days.

Stella was fabulous. We ordered a sheet cake of her classic Black and White Cholocate Mousse cake and it was fabulous. We didn't want to spend tons of money on a tiered wedding cake and so decided to use Stella and Whole Foods for sheet cakes (we had to get the second one from Whole Foods because, sadly, Stella doesn't do carrot cake). Stella's cake was not only delicious, but it was beautiful. We did not miss having a traditional cake in the least.

Stella was very professional and met with my mom and I twice to taste cakes and show us pictures of past events that she had baked for. She delivered the cake and gave us very detailed instructions on how long we could safely leave the cake out for.

I would definitely use Stella again (for any event) and can't wait for our first year anniversary to go back and order a slice to celebrate! (There was none left to freeze after the wedding!)

Stella made us a beautiful 4 tier wedding cake on a European cake stand. The cake was simple and elegant, she put marzipan on the sides, white chocolate on top, and some marzipan roses on top as well. The cake itself was delicious; we went with the dark and white chocolate mousse. Stella was very careful to deliver the cake at exactly the right time so that the cake did not melt or fall apart in any way. I am really looking forward to using my $20 gift certificate to buy another cake for our anniversary!\r\n

We got a sheet cake for our wedding. It was absolutely delicious and was beautifully decorated - lots of positive responses from guests. The cost was $185 which saved us a lot of money compared to other wedding cake options. We also got some tarts and assorted desserts for a dessert buffet. I have only the highest praise for the quality of the desserts. The quality of the service was more mixed. We were planning the wedding long distance so I had to place the order and make arrangements over the phone. They were kind of brusque and in a hurry to get off the phone - even when they were the ones who had called me back. Their store is very busy but still it was frustrating. They also won't deliver sheet cakes (only tiered cakes) so we had to pick it up, but it was totally worth it for the price and quality of the cake. Overall I would still order from Stella's if I had it to do over again - don't expect the most gracious service, but you can expect really fantastic cake.

For $400, we got a 4 tier chocolate/vanilla mousse cake on a european stand. Not included in that price was the hassle of having to EVERYTHING in person with the owner. Hard to do when you live in Long Island and the bakery is located in Maryland and won't do appointments on the weekend. Harder to do when you are only allowed to work w/ the owner, and not allowed to leave messages w/ staff, or conduct business (simple things like order confirmations) over the phone or have your parents in the area go to represent you. Harder still when the owner loses details she wrote down on scraps of paper.

The cake was absolutely delicious. The process was a bit too hard for me to work with remotely. She did arrive on time with a beautiful cake.

Stella herself worked with me, and was wonderful. The tasting and the cake itself are so delicious! And such a great price for the amazing creation! She suggests strongly that you use her gift certificate for a free cake on your 1 year wedding anniversary as she doesn't guarantee the quality of her cake frozen for a year.The only drawback is that she is so busy, that you have to go way in advance, and pray that she is not going to Greece for a vacation the month of your wedding. I go there all the time!
