We found Steven Scott on the recommended vendor list for The Lighthouse. Our salesperson was Tammi – she was really cool and very easy to communicate with – we really felt she understood what we were looking for. We chose Gotham because we wanted a live band that had a strong male lead as well as a strong female lead. They also had a wide range of songs on their demo dvd that are songs that we like. We met with Dave (the bandleader) a few weeks before our wedding to iron out all the special music details. He was easy to work with and we felt he understood what we wanted as well.

On the day of we had the keyboardist & flute from the band play for our ceremony – they were excellent. The keyboard & sax played at the cocktail hour and were fabulous as well – so I hear as I really don’t remember this portion.

The full band played for the reception and were absolutely phenomenal! Dave played solo during the seated meal portion – stuff like “No Woman No Cry” & “Every Rose Has a Thorn” which was really great and much better than what I have heard previously. For dancing they played a great mix of different things – all of which were great songs.

Our only complaints were 1. They did not play the Springsteen set Erik had asked for (which is fine by me as I hate Bruce) 2. They did not play the last dance song we requested – NY State of Mind (but we think this may have been our fault as we may have not requested it 3. The mother/son dance was shorter than the father/daughter dance.

Overall we were thrilled with Gotham and felt they were a great choice and that they read the crowd well and had the dance floor packed all night.
