Brides beware: This place is a BEAUTIFUL venue and your wedding will look fabulous, but beware of the staff and poor customer service. Craig and his staff make promises they don't keep and wind up causing stress on the family and bride.
Weigh your options when you decide to have your wedding here: beautiful wedding venue, but it's a headache to deal with the owners who lie and try to cheat their way out of promises and signed contracts.

We had the time of our lives at our wedding thanks to The Stonegate Mansion!!! We had high hopes that it would be amazing and it WAS BEYOND BELIEF, right down to the last dance alone under the ceiling drapes. Stonegate was the most beautiful venue and we loved all of the services that we received leading up to the wedding and into the reception. We loved that Craig and his team were able to coordinate with our caterers and customized a bar package to help accommodate our alcohol budget. The team at Stonegate really went out of their way to make us feel truly special and our friends and family were very impressed by how well planned and great the evening was.

We had our reception at Stonegate and I was completely blown away by how everything turned out! I had planned and planned each and every detail and it could not have turned out as gorgeous as it did without Craig and his wonderful team!!!! My bridesmaids, house party and mother had such a fun time getting ready in the GORGEOUS bridal suite. It was perfectly located upstairs with easy access to the reception area so we could peek to see the setup every now and then. We were greeted with champagne, water, sodas, and snacks! They checked on us throughout the day to make sure everything was great. They allowed hairdressers, make-up artists and lunch all to be brought in based on our desires. Our transportation vendor picked us up at Stonegate and took us to the church for the ceremony and brought us back for the reception.
When we arrived back to Stonegate following the ceremony, Craig and his team had setup a private dining table with beautiful centerpieces and all of our food for the evening. We were able to eat together and have some down time with a private waiter. After we ate our dinner privately, we were escorted to the great room where we were able to see our reception space before any of the guests. I was completely blown away by what Craig and his team were able to do. He arranged for an amazing lighting person to be there and took care of the lighting throughout the night (Which was amazing!!!!) The entire staff at Stonegate was so friendly, checking with us throughout the night and made our night run so smoothly.
I really liked that Craig had an events company because he was able to suggest linens, vases, china, chargers, etc. that coordinate with your wants. He is VERY good at what he does and has a lot of ideas on how to take your wedding to the next level! However, if you are very interested in something, he is open to creating that for you. We were grateful for all of the small details that were covered by Stonegate and the team...

We had our reception at Stonegate, and it turned out beautiful! Could not have been happier with the venue itself. It is a wonderful set up for a fun, above-average reception. They also have a gorgeous bridal suite upstairs that my bridesmaids and I were able to get ready in. It was such a fun day! Jessica, who we worked with through all the planning, was extremely helpful and sweet. However, she was not there on the wedding day, and the owner (Craig) seemed to have no idea about some of the things we had agreed on. We only saw Craig the day we toured the facility, and the day of the wedding.
I gave an average rating because they sure have a racket going on. The rental fee itself seems reasonable, but then they end up nickel and dimeing you for everything. You pay for every light, candle, knife, fork, napkin, even the dance floor is a fee. And it is all incredibly expensive in the end. They are also a rental company, so you HAVE to use their things if you book them. You even have to purchase your alcohol through them, and it is SO EXPENSIVE. A keg of domestic beer was almost $400, and the cheapest bottle of wine was I think $25?
Then, after spending a fortune, Craig is rude to your vendors and extremely inflexible. He was not nice to our photographer. It's his way or the highway. Also - we had to spend a pretty penny for the bartenders, and an 18% gratuity, and then the night of, the bartenders barely spoke any English and acted like they had no idea what was going on. And one of the "bartenders" that we paid for wasn't even serving drinks. So the line was backed up for a long time. And on top of all that, they had a tip jar out - which my mom was very upset about.
After the event, she wrote a long email to Craig about some different things, and he did not apologize. He just made excuses and wouldn't refund anything that my mom had pointed out because "he let us use such and such bowl and no charge," or "we set up this extra table at no cost." Blah blah.
You would think that as a customer, he would be more accommodating, but he is not.
So..with that said, it is a gorgeous place, and I was very happy with the reception itself, as were the guests. But the behind-the-scenes things are not so great. And it ends up being A LOT more expensive than you planned.

Stonegate was an absolutely perfect venue for our daughter's wedding reception. The staff were knowledgeable, helpful, flexible with changes in plans, and accomodating to all of our requests (including keeping some things a surprise for the bride). The only challenge we had was that I did not have a written estimate of what the final costs were going to be (including all of the changes and additions), so I had no real idea as to the final cost until I saw the last invoice. In terms of the event itself, they outdid themselves!

I received so many wonderful comments about my wedding venue! Everything looked amazing, the service was great, and we all had a wonderful time!

Stonegate did a fantastic job and provided everything and more that they said they would.
When planning your event they do it top notch, so let them be the experts, take their advice Do Not try to re-invent the wheel or let relatives or friends try and influence your decision.
This is a first class facility so do it up as such and don't cheap out.
Jessica, Michelle & Craig were very accomodating and will make your dreams come true if you simply let them do their job!
Good luck & God Bless

I had my wedding at Stonegate on October 22, 2011. The venue itself is beautiful and my ceremony and reception were wonderful. It is very pricey because the owner of the venue also owns a rental company and requires that you rent everything through them. I could have easily went somewhere else and rented everything for much cheaper and had a much larger selection. I settled on a charger that I didn't like because there wasn't one that fit what I was looking for. The service here is not what it should be especially since I easily spent over 10,000. The first person I worked with was Lauren. She was fast and responsive during the whole booking process so I also booked her as my day of cordinator. However, once our deposit was down she would take weeks to respond to emails if she responded at all. She ended up leaving the company before my wedding. I found this out when I called to speak to her and was told by another employee she was no longer there. I have no idea how long it would have taken them to call me and let me know she wasn't there and wouldn't be coridnating my wedding. Craig, the owner, did introduce me to another coridnator who worked out much better. He was also better at responding to emails/calls.
The day of the wedding Craig and his wife were both there and very good about answering any questions. I found out after my wedding though that Craig and my DJ got into an argument about equipment being left in a room. My DJ was pulled away from my reception for a good amount of time to remove it and load it into his trailer. I wish someone would have come to me and asked if I cared it was there. I would have much rather had my DJ in the reception. I also paid extra to have the Stonegate staff serve my food and cut my cake and they failed to cut the cake when the were supposed to. A good 15 minutes after my husband and I had cut the cake and done 3 parent dances my cordinator had to go find them and ask them to cut and serve the cake.
My biggest issue though is that I have been married for a little over 5 months now and still have not been told what amount from my damage deposit I will be receiving back. I started calling two weeks after my wedding and have been told several times that Craig is busy and will get back to me. I feel VERY uncomfortable that there have now been several weddings since mine and they still cannot tell me what, if any, damage was done during my wedding.
This is a beautiful venue but I would not recommend this venue to anyone who wants good customer service.

STONEGATE WAS AN INCREDIBLE VENUE FOR MY DAUGHTER'S WEDDING RECEPTION. THE MANSION WAS TURNED INTO A MAGICAL PLACE. THE OWNER CRAIG AND HIS WIFE MICHELLE WENT OVER AND BEYOND MY EXPECTATIOBS IB MAKING SURE WE HAD THE PERFECT LINES FOR THE TABLE, WHICH REQUIRED HIM TO HAVE THEM SHIPPED LAST MINUTE. JESICA, MY COORDINATOR WAS SO PATIENT WITH ANY AND ALL CHANGES THAT I CONTINUED TO MAKE. JESSICA WAS ALSO VERY HELPFUL IN MAKING SUGGESTIONS AND GIVING ME IDEAS. I HAVE THREE MORE DAUGHTER'S TO MARRY AND I WOULD USE STONEGATE AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!!!!

My daughter just had her reception here and we were very pleased. We (the wedding consultant, my daughter, and myself) met with Lauren in the beginning, who gave us some great ideas to start with. Then about eight months later she left and we began working with Craig. He was able to give us some fresh ideas and they turned out beautifully. We used the library room for a children's area, bringing in games and colors. The other room next door was a perfect place for the men to wait before heading to the wedding site and a place for the wedding party to catch their breath before being introduced at the reception.
The venue itself is beautiful. Very large and lots of windows. We used the bridal suite before the wedding and it was wonderful. A fridge full of complimentary drinks, plenty of room with lots of mirror space, and an Ipod docking station so the girls could just chill out. Obviously, a lot of thought had gone into this room.
And, yes, you rent the facility and then pay for the linens, tableware, etc. But it is all spelled out in the contract so you know exactly what the charges are beforehand. The staff was great, moving quietly and unobtrusively, and everything was just beautiful. Couldn't be happier with the decision.

I had my wedding at Stonegate Mansion on April 16, 2011. After several emails and phone calls asking for my deposit to be refunded, I finally got an email today (June 8, 2011) saying that a portion of the deposit would be refunded to my credit card (still waiting to see if that actually happens). Besides legitimate items that were deducted from the deposit, there was also a charge for a set of cake servers that I expressly said I did not want because my cousin brought me engraved cake servers with our names. Stonegate Mansion tells me that they went against my express wishes and set out additional cake servers even though I did not see any (besides the ones my cousin brought), and now the phantom cake servers are missing, so I'm getting charged. Also, I was charged for a bridal suite that was not completed in time for my wedding. When I asked for a refund of the charge for the bridal suite (because no refund or any other compensation was offered), I was told I would be given a partial credit because they let me use their office space to dress up. To be clear, the partial credit was not a cash refund. The bridal suite was $250 and they gave me a $100 credit that went toward 2 broken chairs, and some broken/missing water glasses. Please future brides, save your money (and also save yourself the stress) and get a venue elsewhere. There are too many little charges for things that should be included in the overall rental fee, for example, there's a charge for the dance floor - I mean seriously who charges for a dance floor separate from the rental fee??? Their response time was also not the greatest, and I found myself having to call or email several times before getting a response. The other downside about this venue is that they are also a rental company so they require you to get most of your rentals from them such as linens, drapes, lighting, etc. It's a racket, and if I could do it over, I would not have had my wedding here.
UPDATE: After I posted the review above, I received a lengthy email explaining the issues that led to my being dissatisfied, and I was also refunded the charge for the cake servers, which made me feel better. Apparently, Lauren (the contact person I dealt with) was on her way out shortly after my wedding, and by the time I wrote my review, she was no longer with them, and I happened to fall through the cracks, which I guess could happen to any business. The email also explained that the office space they let me use to dress up is usually not offered as a bridal suite, and they had to un-set their display tables, put in some furnishings and refreshments to create a bridal suite for me. I appreciate the explanation, and it is for this reason I am updating my review.

We got married at the Stonegate on New Years Eve. Our wedding ended up being amazing, and so beautiful. The venue itself is spectacular, one of a kind!
The service on the other hand...terrible. they caused a huge stress on us during the planning. they were NOT flexible AT ALL with anything. At first we thought we would be saving money going to the Stonegate, but once we sat down and went over the fine print..it was frustrating. You HAVE to purchase almost everything through them..which ended up costing us extra money. The owner, Craig was extremely difficult to work with throughout the planning as well as the day of (thankfully i didnt know any of this was going on until after the wedding)
our florist, DJ, and caterers were pushed to the edge with all of Craigs rules.
he would not let my florist store my reception flowers anywhere!! so she had to get creative and place them at my alter during the ceremony (which is NOT what i wanted)
He would not let our DJ bring in his own lights that he was going to bring at no cost to us...we were forced to pay extra for each uplighting that we had in the room.
My husband had beer mugs made for his groomsmen with their names on them...at one point Craig took them away from them after they filled them up with beer (that stonegate provided for us)....i still dont understand that...but we got the mugs back.
overall, my wedding ended up amazing. it was beautiful, unique and everyone had a blast..
however...if i had to do it again, i would not want to work with them in planning anything!!

After booking and signing the contract, Stonegate went under a change of management. It was because of this that was the root of most of our issues. The reception turned out spectacular and more beautiful than I imagined, also the new management followed through with all promises. But, we had multiple problems up until the week before the wedding. I would only recommend this vendor if you have an open checkbook, otherwise they place you at the bottom of their to-do list until it is crunch time.

As soon as we saw Stonegate Mansion, we knew that was the place to hold our wedding reception. It is so unique and beautiful. Dayna was so wonderful to work with. She had great ideas and was helpful throughout the planning process. The mansion was beautiful the night of our reception; the layout was ideal for our 200+ guests. The staff was great and made sure that everything ran smoothly. If there were problems with anything, I didn't know. I would definitely recommend this venue as a reception site.
Stonegate Mansion is a beautiful, seclusive location in Fort Worth. It not only can accompany any size of group, but you can be very creative with all their individual spaces. I recommend this estate for your wedding rehearsals and receptions, especially in the Spring and Fall. The patios and fire place are amazing!
