Stuart Avenue Inn

We decided not to go into debt with our wedding and instead bank some serious quality time with family and close friends. After looking at several places in town (Kalamazoo) we landed at the Stuart Avenue Inn, on a half-hearted recommendation from a friend. The new Innkeepers purchased the Inn sometime in 2009 so we were a little worried about whether they were up to the task. However, we were so warmly received that we knew it was the place for us. The Innkeepers were so accommodating, and the house was just perfect for us – elegant enough for the ceremony, classy enough for the catered dinner, and comfortable and spacious enough to lounge in, and socialize. The next morning’s brunch was to-die-for delicious. We have absolutely no regrets, would not do a thing differently and really appreciate all that the innkeepers did to help make our time memorable and relaxing.

A few details of our wedding: It was in the late fall and inside. About 35 people total. The price included use of seven rooms in the house overnight so we could relax and not worry about our guests driving after a healthy evening of celebration. We had it catered by a local restaurant (perfectly fine with the innkeepers) and it was actually possible to talk to each other. We used the Inn's CD player so no live band (wouldn't have had room anyway).
