Studio Caroline Theoret

I found Caroline by mistake. I walked by her studio in Atwater and loved the feel of the place. She was not there but her assistant showed me pictures of her work and I booked a trial soon after. I also booked at Annie Young for a trial. The quality of the makeup, the technique used and the experience was incredible. Caroline is gifted for sure. I have very dark bags under my eyes and have had acne for over 13 years...I was amazed at how flawless my makeup was ~ natural on the face and I wanted a soft smokey eye. All I can say is WOW! Annie Young was thick and you could see all my pimples under their thick foundation. The price is the same as Annie Young and other makeup artists of her status. I was given names of makeup artists half the price but my makeup has never looked this good. My wedding was this past Sunday and I got a sneak peak of some of my wedding pcitures that look spectacular! MAkeup and hair is so important!!!!!! DOnt make a mistake ~ do a trial and book her, you wont be dissapointed. Naomi

I just got married few weeks ago and I am so thankful that Caroline took care of me. It was a nightmare because few days before my wedding I got dumped by my makeup artist. I cald the Studio Caroline Theoret and her assistant was very nice and she has found a solution right away for me. I did not have time anymore to do a trial, but she convince me to go with Caroline because she was available for me. My wedding day was wonderful and I am so thankful to them because it was last minute. Futur brides don't wait and reserve your makeup artist from a professionnal studio that way you will not have any last minute surprise!

I recently got married and I just came back from my honey moon. I have used Caroline Theoret studio service and I was more than happy. Caroline was not available, so she has refer me one of her senior makeup artist and also a junior artist for my bridemaid. They were trained by her so I was not worried at all. I did my trial with Laurence and she is adorable. The day of my wedding the makeup artist as arrived with the junior artist and Laurence was also supervising the junior to make sure the girls were happy! Caroline as a wonderful team and I suggest the studio to every brides.

Caroline s'est très occupée de moi et pour ma coiffure c'est son coiffeur Ivan. Je suis très satisfaite de mon maquillage, car il a tenue toute la journée. Caroline et son coiffeur sont revenu en fin de journée pour changer mon maquillage et coiffure pour la soirée. Je me sentais comme un star! Je conseille cet endroit à toutes les futures mariées!

I was very disappointed with the entire experience. I had an uneasy feeling from the beginning as she comes across very strong and forceful. After showing up 30 minutes late, my trial ended up costing me almost double the initial cost $200 and I feared that the same would happen on my wedding day therefore I cancelled and went with someone else. although the makeup did look great maybe a little heavy on the face I did not want to end up paying $500 on my wedding day. (I also read the reviews on this site which help me to make my decision). She continued to call me even though I told her assistant I was going elsewhere. The day before my wedding, she called my during the afternoon and then again at 9:30 pm. I did not know why she was calling me but I feared it was only to agitate me the night before my wedding. In the end, I feel I made the right decision. I found someone at a fraction of the cost, who was extremely friendly and easygoing and did a wonderful job!

For the futur brides and grooms 2012, I strongly recommand Caroline Theoret Studio. She has a solid backgroud in wedding makeup and photography. When a came to do my trial at her studio she took almost 2 hours with me to create THE LOOK a really wanted. I also took a trial with Jonathan one of her hair dresser. He is fantastic! For the wedding day we were 8 of us taking care of the event and everything went perfectly! I recommand Caroline and her team!

My experience with the studio Croline theoret was amazing!
the organization of the schedule was perfectly planned,everything went like it was supose too. Its Caroline who did my makeup trial 3 weeks before, she did an incredible job,she really took the time with me even if i'm really picky, and she is really funny! I also bought my lipstick and gloss there, I loved it cause I didn't have to go anywhere else to try to find the right color. She did airbrush makeup cause I want it to stay longer and it did really stay fresh and long all day!
On the day of my wedding everything went perfect! the makeup artist were there in time for my bridemaid and for me. Its was the most beautiful day of my life, thank you caroline for helping me making that day unforgetable!

Caroline was a nightmare to work with. I booked Caroline to do mine and my maid of honor's make-up about a year before my wedding (my 3 other bridesmaids decided to go for a junior as they were not picky with there make-up and there was a huge price difference). When I went for my make-up trial 3 weeks before my wedding, Caroline informed me that she was double booked the day of my wedding and that I would now have to go with a senior for my make-up. She also informed me that the senior could do all 4 of my bridesmaid in my time spand.
I emailed Caroline 3 days later telling her that I had asked my bridesmaids and they would still prefer to go with the Junior. She never wrote me back. My wedding planner then tried calling her, emailing her and no response.
Caroline then decided to call me at 9:30pm the night before my wedding, leaving me a message, telling me that it was too late for her to call a junior for my wedding so only the senior would be coming to do the make-up the next day and I would need to pay the price of the senior.
I gave Caroline ample time to get a Junior and she chose to screw me over the day before my wedding. She is a scam artist and I would avoid her at all costs!

I definitely recommend this make up artist 100%. i've had nothing but bad experiences with other make up artist who supposedly have so many years of experience yet you come out looking terrible because they just don't know how to give a natural yet intense look through their make up application. Caroline Theoret is a true artist to say the least and will make you look like a million bucks. I admire her talent and would recommend her services in a heart beat!

For my wedding this past summer, I had to deal with so many professionals in different fields. They were nice, professional and really fun to deal with, but Caroline is a nightmare.

I had a bad feeling from the start (she is really loud and unprofessional), but I decided to continue with her because she seemed to be really good at what she does (make-up) and I tried one of the hairdressers there and I really liked him. But what a mistake, she decided not too long before the wedding not do my make-up and told me her student would do it, even tough I made sure her name was on my contract almost a year before the wedding. She told me she wasn't going to do my make-up because she had a much bigger wedding to do and she coudn't pass up that opportunity.

Even though, she was breaking the contract I accepted for her student to do my make-up, but before the wedding she tried to take the student and the hairdresser and put them on this bigger wedding (even tough I had trials with them and this particular hairdresser was the only reason I continued on in the first place). When I got upset and told her that it was very important for me to keep these two people, she left them (she had no choice, they were on the contract), she proceeded to tell me in a sarcastic tone that I was a bridezilla and a crazy/nervous bride in front of other clients. I was really mortified, but since it was the week before the wedding, I didn't say anything. She was also really upset when I told her that instead 4 people doing their makup, we'd be 3, and 6 for hair. She gave me this rant on the phone that I should force my all my bridesmaids to do make-up, that no-one can do make-up like her company and that since we'd be less for makeup, the hairdresser would come with an assistant and they would finish much earlier.

I was charged exorbitant prices, I had to pay this assitant as much as the hairdresser, once she charges the credit card, I tried to contact her to discuss the billing in over 3 weeks, she has never called back.

I've never had such an unprofessional experience in my life, my hair was really nice and her emplyees are not at fault, the student who did my make up was a sweetheart (she did a better job that when caroline herself), but she her clients only represent $ signs, she will not keep her word, she will find ways to charge you anywhere.

Caroline was RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL.
It was a nightmare dealing with her during my wedding process and especially on my big Day.

I do not hope for you, Future Brides, to experience the stress that I did with her.

I planned my wedding to every last detail and had to deal with many vendors. All which were very pleasant and professional....EXCEPT Studio Caroline Theoret!! From the beginning her prices were outrageous (and apparently they have since been RAISED) she was extremely unprofessional and gave me an uneasy feeling from the beginning. I originally had a hair and make-up trial with her 9 months prior to my wedding. I liked the hair but hated the make-up which was done by Caroline, after two hours the eyeshadow was running! I canceled my wedding booking with her immediately after but kept the hair which looking at it now should have cancelled it all to avoid dealing with her all together. She took it so personally, she proceeded to tell me she is the best in the industry and I would never find better. She is completely insane, 5 days before my wedding she called me to tell me instead of my hair (bride only) costing $300.00 it would now be $500.00!!! When I argued that the price was far too high, she told me that I was lower class and that her clientele is high class and happy to pay those prices, then she called me cheap! Which is mind blowing considering she is the owner of this business-so incredibly unprofessional!!

On the day of my wedding I was so nervous the hairdresser wouldn't show up, which is definitely not something you should have to worry about on your big day! She dropped the hairdresser off at my Mother's house, peeled away as soon as I opened the door and called him multiple times yelling at him even though we were right on schedule!

I have later found out from West Island wedding planners and through clients at the spa I go to regularly that they have all had horrible experiences with her, she shows up late, is completely crazy, very unprofessional and raises her prices at the last minute often without any notice!!

Future Brides, you deserve to be treated like princesses and the months leading up to your wedding should be stress free. Trust me, stay away from Studio Caroline Theoret. She was the only issue I had regarding my entire wedding experience!!!!! I have never, ever been treated so poorly in my LIFE!!!

I reserved with Caroline Theoret more than a year in advance for my wedding makeup. Two weeks before my Day, Caroline called me to change my schedule because she wants to sqeeze another bride appointment in the same morning. I had to argue with her and tell her that she cannot change a bride's schedule 2 weeks before her Day, especially when she is booked MORE THAN A YEAR in advance.

That morning, she arrived late. She didn't want to start with the bride because she was not "warm-up". Then she took 2 hours to do my two bridesmaids. At 20 minutes BEFORE leaving to church, she hasn't start my makeup (THE BRIDE!) and my sister's. I ended up having my makeup partially finished with no false eyelashes, and my sister hated her make up!

All I can say is she is so UNPROFESSIONAL and GREEDY.

Later, she send me a receipt of 700$ charged on my credit card for her "professional" services!!!

The reason i am sharing this experience is to prevent you from having the same nightmare as I did on my Special Day.

I was recommended Caroline by a good friend. 3 words: Fun, flawless and long lasting. I had the whole experience at her studio for my trials and at home for the wedding! On my wedding day she help lift the stress I was having for the day.

I hired Caroline for me, my mom and sister and a Jr makeup artist for my bridesmaids. Hair was done with their hairdresser. It was great the came to the house with all their equipment so no stress to run to the hair dresser. They were also able to accomodate last minute add in for my aunts and cousins!

A little pricey but well worth it as i have amazing wedding pictures and the makeup stay for 18hrs even though i have oily skin! Highly recommended the air brush!

4 days before my wedding, I was told that Caroline could no longer come for my makeup. On wedding day, rates that was charged was not the rates previously agreed. I am pressing charges against this vendor for the extra money that we paid on our wedding day. I would never deal with her studio again. Very unprofessional and rude.

CAROLINE THEORET may be in high demand, but if she does NOT RESPECT her contract and act UNPROFESSIONAL, people will stop hiring her. Wedding is an important and unique occasion for a bride. She is GREEDY and DISAPPOINT people on their special occasion.

She made me cry on my wedding day.

I booked with Caroline 1 year before my wedding. One month before the wedding, I did my makeup trial with her. She took notes of how I wanted my makeup and the colors that we chose. Everything was signed and confirmed with her, the time she should arrive and the makeup I wanted.

The night before my wedding, she called me to inform me that she was double booked with a bigger wedding, so she will no longer be available for mine. She will send her Junior student to do my makeup for my wedding. I got so mad and stressed out. I told her that her name is on the contract, so she better be available otherwise I will sue her.

That morning, she arrived late and wasn't happy. She "forgot" her notes so she didn't remember how I wanted my makeup that was previously agreed on the trial day.

I ended up having a makeup that I did not like at all, and since I was late for the ceremony (because of her!), there was no time to redo the makeup.

Right after the ceremony, my makeup did not stay on even though I had the air brush done. On my pictures, my skin looked very sweaty and oily.

I was so disappointed of her service and attitude that I cried.

Two weeks later, she charged on my credit card an EXORBITANT amount for her "professional" services.

Wow! you ladies seem like "bridezillas"! Are you sure you are talking about the same makeup artist? I was referred to Caroline 4 years ago. I hired her for my wedding and she did an amazing job. She was (and still is) in very high demand so I could not get her at the exact time I wanted but she was at my house with 1 assistant on time. She did my makeup and together with her assistant, they did my wedding party & mother (7 girls). The makeup was flawless and from me alone, she received about 10 referrals. You CAN NOT find a better makeup artist! Since, I have hired her when I have weddings to attend and I also took a private makeup course with her. She is professional, fun, extremely experienced & taught me amazing techniques. It is unfortunate that you had a bad experience as mine was amazing (and all my friends who used her also had the same experiences). There must be a confusion.
