Studio Q Photography

My husband and I cannot say enough about studioQ. We both are not photogenic. But they were able to make us look like movie stars. I even heard a passerby say out loud, "I wonder if they are movie stars." I decided to write this review because when comparing our wedding photos (by Kathy freundel from Maryland) to my engagement photos by Studio Q, we LOVE our engagement photos so much better. Not that our wedding photos were bad. It's just the quality of photography is excellent with studioQ. In all the scenarios, the photographer was able to adjust his camera to the various light settings and also the style of photography was fresh and creative. There is not a picture we didn't love. They gave us two settings (union station and Santa Monica pier) but we shot at over 5 different areas in union station, at least 4 places in the pier and 5 places on the beach. They were all artistically well done. We paid 600 dollars for three hours but the photographer had so much fun with us that he spent more than 3 hours. We tipped him well. My husband saw the wedding photos of two of his cousins and they did a fabulous job. I cannot recommend them enough. Their website does not do them justice. I wasn't impressed by the photos on their website (unless it has changed since i last saw it in September 2010). But All my friends LOVE our engagement photos.

Our favorite wedding vendor has been our photographer- Yuno Cho! He was recommended by many of our friends who have had weddings in the past few years. He was wonderful to work with, along with his assistant Brian. We did our engagement session with him a couple months before our event and were really glad we did so in order to get to know him and feel comfortable. We spent all day with him and he was tireless, always ready with a smile. He also made a nice collage of the photos for our wedding. We just had our wedding a couple weeks ago so we haven't gotten our wedding pictures yet but we're already satisfied and sure that they'll turn out great.

Fantastic fantastic fantastic! My husband and I cannot say enough about the quality of photos and professionalism we received from Studio Q, specifically from Jai and Paul (our lead photographer). I found this studio at the Bridal Expo at the LA Convention Center, and I was immediately impressed with how friendly Jai was and how helpful she was in answering my many questions. When I looked into their wedding packages, I knew I had found my photographers because they offered the best prices around and the most items in the package. We did our engagement session in Santa Barbara (my hometown), and Paul was very willing to drive up there without charging us anything extra. They actually studied at the Brooks Institute in SB, so they know all of the great places to shoot up there. We spent a few hours shooting at the Mission, beach, and a train depot, and Paul was so patient with us as we got comfortable posing for the camera.On the day of the wedding, Paul had some great ideas, but he also listened to my suggestions which I appreciated. The photos turned out better than I expected, and countless people who have seen them told me they should be in a bridal magazine because they are that good. I am so glad I went with my gut and chose Studio Q over some of the bigger name studios I had researched!

They are great! I found them through my friend,and I feel so lucky. I love every pictures they did,and you know the difference when you print out.
I like to give many stars for them.

Finding a good photographer was key! I wanted someone whose pictures would look like they belonged in a magazine and my husband wanted someone who took great photojournalistic shots. We found that and more at Studio Q. They have several packages and several photographers so you are bound to find someone that fits your style. We chose to have an engagement session as well and that was fun too! We displayed those at the reception and got lots of compliments. We love our wedding pictures and picking our favorites is going to be difficult!

Jai Shim, the director, helped us to plan and customize a package which was within our budget and included everything we wanted. She, and our photographers, Paul and Jin, were kind and professional. They always gave us their full attention. Jai graciously provided when we wanted to adjust our package or reschedule shooting dates and locations. They always had a positive attitude that left no question that they value our concerns and desires. We felt as though we were their sole customers!
They made us feel at home whenever we stopped in their office. We loved going in to look through their many photo albums, for their aesthetic value as well to study the different styles and approaches. In the office, and over the phone, they worked closely with us to advise us on pictures to choose for our album, and listened to our preferences for the layout of the pictures too!
In addition to their great service, their real quality lies where it should, in their photography. The pictures were classic and candid, timeless and emotional, up-close and narrative, in all the right times and places. The colors are rich and vivid, the focus alluring, and the content deep and provocative. Just see for yourself on their website, www.mystudioq.com , or in the photo albums on display in their office. My wife and I agree, “beautiful” describes it.
Their talent is broad enough that they can adjust their style to meet your taste. If you don’t know your style yet, they can help you figure it out.
The thing that we like most about our photos is that they tell a complete story of our wedding, from the minute details that we would not have noticed or appreciated, to the guests themselves. Every time we look at our pictures, we are so thankful to remember the support and affection of all our guests, and to feel again the love and commitment on our wedding day.
Out of appreciation for their consistent service and warmth, we even brought pastries into their office on several occasions. Paul and Gene’s friendliness and humor helped us to feel natural and comfortable in front of the camera, and Jai was so kind, patient and accommodating. It was a tremendous help to have a photography studio that genuinely cared.

In summary, we highly highly recommend Studio Q. If we had to do it all over again, we would choose Studio Q, no other options needed, no energy wasted.

Nothing but good things to say about this vendor. Their price is reasonable and I was very happy with how our photos turned out. The photographer made us feel very comfortable and capture our style very well. Whole heartedly recommend this vendor!

We found Studio Q by accident. So far our experience has been wonderful. Studio Q is very accomodating and our photographer for our engagement shoot was great to work with. The pictures turned out beautiful. We booked a package which also includes the photoshoot for the wedding day. We can highly recommend them.

We got introduced to Studio Q thru a friend and i think it was a great choice. The photographer that we had for our engagement session was wonderful. He knew exactly what we were looking for and was willing to work with our needs. We used the same photographer for our wedding. It seemed like the photographer knew what he was doing because our photos came out great. The staff at the studio were wonderful and very kind. they were again willing to work with our needs when customizing our package and our final wedding album with btw took only about 3 months.
Overall I highly recommend this studio.

the pictures were okay.

I found them through the Los Angeles Bridal Expo. They were not pushy and had a great set-up. Two other girlfriends were getting married so we were trying to find a great deal if we all went with the same vendor. Studio Q appreciated the business was very cooperative. For our engagement session i wanted to go to Catalina Island and that was not a norm for them but they did it anyways. Again they were easy to work with and we had a great time working with our photographer. Pictures where great.For the wedding we had the same photographer (which was great) and he was so patient. I knew that he was going to capture my wedding at its best. In the end the pictures turned out beautifully. It made me want to do it all over again to capture more moments.My girlfriends loved their pictures too..One thing is that they can get very busy and may have very limited space. You are flexible they can be too. The price is very reasonable and they really do work with your budget. I will go back for family photos and definately recommend

Jai was very attentive and we felt like she really knew us personally after meeting us only a few times. The photographer and his assistance was very professional and the pictures were beautiful. We would highly recommend them.

This is a Korean American photographer that a friend of mine recommended me. I chose them because I liked their casual style and also because they were the least expensive and provided the most amount of pictures, photo setting, albums. I paid about $3,000 for 1 black and white album, 1 color album, 1 album from the wedding day, a large framed engagement photo that I used at wedding ceremony, 2 parent albums, lots of prints (can't remember how many but alot), plus 60 thank you cards. To get all the pictures they do an engagement photo session, a studio session, and a garden session, plus all the pictures on the wedding day. It's alot and to be honest we were so tired of it all we did our garden session after the wedding. But overall, we were very happy with the results.The only negative is that on the day of the wedding they were not very proactive in helping to get everyone together for a family shot. The 2 guys that they sent were not fluent in English and no one at our wedding spoke Korean so maybe it was a language barrier.

One of our albums came out badly, but they were willing to fix the mistake. And because we had to wait for the new album to be made, they through in a free frame for one of our large portraits.
