Reviews for Sublime Salon
I used Jill, who owns Sublime Salon -- she was really sweet and did a fantastic job on my hair. I went to three different trials with other salons and was ultimately frustrated b/c no one would get the look right -- Jill got it on the first try! My hair was secure all night, through lots of dancing. She also did a great job on the moms and helped most of my bridesmaids. She was also nice enough to let the bridesmaids borrow her equipment to do their own hair. She came on location, which was also a great help (and more relaxing). I recommend Jill and I also highly recommend getting ready on location rather than trying to travel around to appointments on your wedding day!
Jill from Sublime did my hair the day of the wedding while Teri did my make up. They both did a fantastic job. I have to admit that I was a bit weary from the trial as my make up that day was a bit full on and my hair wasn't quite perfect but on the wedding day they really came through.
My make up was as natural looking as possible given the fact that I never really wear make up. I opted against fake lashes and too much fake brow and my make up still looked great in the photos.
As for my hair, it was long and wavy just like I wanted and stayed put all day and all night long. My mom asked if I had hair extensions in because it looked so much longer and healthy than normal (an insult for me but a compliment for Jill!).
The bridesmaids, flower girl, and my sister in law also had hair and make up done and they all looked great.
Another thing I liked about the place is that they are very down to earth and low key. They didn't gush over us because we were a wedding party but since we were the only people in the salon at that time we just kind of socialised and did our own thing which was nice.
I'd definitely recommend them to anyone. The rates are reasonable compared to some of the well known wedding stylists that will come to your hotel and I felt they did just as good of job.
Hair was a big issue for me. I have short hair and finding photos of styles was really hard. I didn’t really know what I wanted. I attempted to work with 2 other hair stylists but they kept telling me to grow my hair out for the wedding which I thought was lame. I like my short hair. It’s like they were telling me that if I didn’t have long hair I wouldn’t look like a bride.
I found Jill from Sublime Salon on Project Wedding and had a trial with her. The second I met her I knew that she understood what I wanted. The trial went great and the day of wedding even better. She did such a great job on not only me but 4 BM's and 2 Moms. Here pricing is great too. I did think her $200 travel fee was a little steep since I was in SF and she is located in SF but...oh, well. It turned out great and worth the $$ in the end.
I always get a great cut from Jill Quinn! She totally knows how to deal with Asian hair. So when it came time to choose a wedding salon, it was a no-brainer to me. Jill had to do my hair. Our “trial run” was near perfect. She kept saying that she only did an estimation of how it looked, but it was pretty good from what I could see. After I fished out all of the bobby pins, it STILL stayed in place. She also insisted that the veil went over the hairdo, and not under, like a “bridal mullet”. I love the fact that she was so honest and cared so much about how I would look on the big day.
