SUE GALLO DESIGNS

From the beginning Sue was great to work with, with emails and extra appointments she was responsive and attentive. I did note a couple of things I had asked for she failed to write down but I thought she knows what she's doing so I didn't worry. She came highly recommended from the Ancaster Old Mill so my worries were set a side. I had also retained her for the centre pieces at the shower. Which turned out beautiful.

But at my wedding, regardless that no one noticed that in fact what I planned was not provided is pointless for I will always remember. The day of my wedding I wasn't going to let anything damper my day. But I do have to say I have been left disappointed. I wanted to walk into my reception and see all that I have worked so hard to plan fall into place.
My bouquet and bridal party bouquets were excellent. Flowers for the mothers and father were great too. The decoration on the Arbor and two large vases were gorgeous. Candle seating plan, was well done. Two mantel decor was gorgeous as well. My main disappointment was the Head Table and Centre pieces. At the head table I was to have 4 (6x4) black vases(please note my wedding colours were black and pearl), one for each girl to place their bouquet and to later take home with their bouquets. Sue allegedly didn't check the boxes of vases prior to coming to Ancaster Mill to make sure they were correct. Instead I had three 8x4 white vases. A fourth clear vase with a black ribbon was dug up from somewhere by the Ancaster Staff to accommodate the fourth bouquet.
When I walked into the reception site there were two guest centre pieces on the head table. This I assume was Sue's fix for not having my black vases. Unfortunately I couldn't have centre pieces on the head table as I had made arrangements for certain guests at each table to take them home. I instructed the Ancaster Staff(day of) to arrange the centre pieces on the guest tables where they should be. After counting the centre pieces, there was one short. Again ....issue for the guests. The arrangement I had for the guests was to check under there side place for the little tag I had printed indicating they are the person to take the centre piece home as their gift. I could not announce this to my guests as there was a centre piece short. On top of this issue, I had specifically asked Sue, in our first meeting, if she was able to put PEARLS in my centre pieces. She told me it wasn't a problem to find the pearls. Instead the day of my wedding, she put white Styrofoam balls in the centre piece. For our first meeting I had made a sample(vase, with PEARLS and candles) to show her what I wanted the centre piece to look like. She told me it wasn't a problem as she had a supplier who she could get the pearls. I also don't believe the cost of the centre pieces was appropriate as I had to supply the centre piece vases and candles, she added the Styrofoam balls, water and three short cut roses.
If only she talked to me or my maid of honour the day of the wedding, we could of improvised or made a quick adjustment. The last thing she said to me when I asked her "will I see you at the wedding?" she told me "only if there was a problem". She never never came and talked to me
I am sorry things happened as they did, I will always remember I didn't get my black vases.

All i can say is BEAUTIFUL WORK! I loved all my flowers! She made my vision come true. She did an amazing work and really helps with making everything work together.

I'm so glad I used Sue as a florist. I went to her knowing very little (read: nothing) about flowers. She walked me through it all, took the time to email me photos of different types of flowers (before I'd even booked with her!), and was SO helpful when I met her in person for the first time. All the flowers turned out beautifully- from the bouquets to the ceremony pieces to the hall. She didn't miss a single detail. Thank you, Sue!

Sue was very helpful, and able to come up with beautiful ideas quickly. She was able to stay within my budget and still provide everything that I wanted.

I first met Sue Gallo approximately 10 years ago when her floral company, Sue Gallo Designs was a referral for my own wedding business. Patience is a virtue and thank God Sue has some. I must have changed my mind on a weekly basis about what I wanted to do and she helped me to decide and stick with a plan. After all that, everything turned out fantastic.
Everyone(including myself) was so impressed with how gorgeous it looked and lets face it, it's pretty hard to impress people after you've gone to 100 weddings or so. It's so nice to know that Sue is in the area and I didn't have to run to Toronto to get things done. I'm will be using Sue again for the next event.

Sue provided us with the most amazing flowers that we could ever have hoped for. One of our bridesmaids commented, while looking at the flowers, that it was amazing how ever petal was perfect. Of all of the vendors I worked with in the planning of my wedding, Sue was the one I never needed to worry about. A true professional, Sue listened to what I wanted, and needed, and made it happen seamlessly, and within budget.

I contacted Sue to do my wedding flowers after personal recommendations from both of my sisters. Sue did a BEAUTIFUL trial for me of my CP’s and ceremony/reception décor.

Up until my wedding day, she was great. She answered all of my emails/phone calls promptly and I was really looking forward to seeing the finished product. Flowers were one of the elements I was most excited to see. I had put a countless amount of time and effort into all my floral details and I could hardly wait to see the finished product.
I have never been more disappointed in my entire life.


The actuals were terrible. They were thrown together and had a few (very sparse) petals thrown on the tables. The vases were practically empty of petals and there were no crystals in the vases as pictured. Also, please note there was disgusting green tacky product all over them. They were a complete embarrassment. As were the CP’s. I told my photographer I didn’t even want a picture of them as they were actually horrendous.

My bouquet was to have feathers in it. Although, the actual bouquet was what we agreed to (one of the only elements that was even close to correct), she forgot the feathers which I was a bit upset about. My MOH called the florist to ask her to come fix it (yes, the morning of the wedding) and when Sue came in, she stated “I didn’t know you wanted feathers…I know we talked about it but it wasn’t on the order”. Well, it was on my order which was a photocopy of her order not to mention the fact that it was Sue’s idea to have the Groom’s bout “match” the brides bouquet and his bout was so full of feathers, it looked like a bird.

I had added some head table décor to my order. I had specifically requested décor that was “rich and full” looking in petals with some candles. Sue had commented that she would do groupings of candles to emulate the trees but it would look very rich and full regardless. Awful (please see my Project Wedding review for pics to demonstrate this).

I think one of the kickers with dealing with Sue was the linens on the ceremony décor. We had originally agreed upon black coloured linens for the trees. A few days before the wedding, I had changed my mind to ivory, as our ceremony was taking place in a church and my mom was uncomfortable with such a dark colour for the church but we would still keep the black for the reception. Sue stated that the charge to change the linens for the ceremony was $25 per table (x 4) for a total of $100 plus tax – grand total of $113. I had questioned the charge and inquired why the cost was so high and Sue replied “we still need to clean and steam the linens”. Fine. When my fiancé (at the time) went to go drop off the cheque for the linens, Sue instructed him to make it out for $135, which he did. Still to this day, I have no idea what that additional $22 was for. When I saw the linens at the ceremony venue, they were COMPLETELY wrinkly. Clearly, not steamed, so I was VERY unclear about what the charge was for?? I emailed Sue inquiring and she never responded. In fact, to this day, she has not responded to my multiple emails and voicemails.

This is only a highlight of what went wrong with my florals. Literally, every single element of my florals was incorrect and very cheaply done.
Sue Gallo, in my opinion, is nothing more than a scam artist and does not deserve your business. You are better off getting a kid from a grocery store to do your florals. What a mistake I made hiring her. She was the ONLY vendor that I was disappointed with and what a disaster.

Do not hire her.

Sue Gallo is a very talented and professional Florist! I wouldn't hestitate to recommend her for anyone's wedding! She works with you to perfect every vision you have of your day and executes it to the fullest! She sets up everything herself the day of and removes everything following the event! She is also there, inconspicuously, to move arrangements from the ceremony to the reception area! Her business is great because it is so personal! Nothing gets lost in translation because she is the one you deal with throughout the planning stage and she is the one who is there the day of your event! She also went beyond simply the flowers for me and did my Favours table as well as carved pumpkins for our outdoor ambience! She is truely a unique talent!

Sue Gallo did a wonderful job with my flowers as well as the decor. The flowers were outstanding and people were wowed by her work. Sue was very easy to work with and I would recommend her to anyone.
