Just finally got married and i had purchased my gown from Suky before they went out of business. I guess this review doesnt help much, but for what it is worth, my expierence was wonderful. My dress was amazing. I used Brenda for my alterations...she was amazing...she now does alterations out of All that Shimmers in Haddonfield NJ and Brides by Danielle in Philadelphia....

My first impression of Suky was a wonderful one. My salesperson Kye was great and really seemed to know her stuff. They treated me and my family great until they had our money it seemed like. In my gown process the switched locations and I believe owners, which may have been the change I noticed with the service as well. They are now in their original location outside of Villanova. It's a nice space but not nearly as pleasing as the one where I purchased. Their staff seemed to have decrease quite a bit as my consultant was no longer there or any other faces I recognized from before. My mother also got her alterations done there, but she purchased the dress elsewhere. They were quite expensive for alterations and didn't complete the job. On my wedding day we noticed basting stitches on my mom's gown with a thread that barely complimented her gown color. She was going to take them out thinking they just forgot to and started and realized that they actually hadn't sewn the zipper in at all it was infact just basted. They have a decent selection of gowns but a little bit of a snooty attitude after they have your business. I wouldn't waste my time there again, take your business elsewhere.

RUN AWAY FROM SUKY'S! I purchased a dress from Suky's that was close to $10,000 over a year ago. At the time of purchase they were sweet as pie! A few months later I questioned the arrival date of my dress because they said it would take 9months for it to come in & they were very nasty & acted like I was crazy. They said it was too early and I shouldn't worry myself, they would take care of it. Come to find out they ordered my dress late, which they still haven't accepted responsibility for and it is now 3weeks before my wedding and still I have NO GOWN!
They don't return my emails or calls! Even if I get my money back, it still will be impossible to replace the dress of your dreams with so little time! I don't live close by but will be driving up today to give them a piece of my mind!
IF YOU DON'T WANT TO END UP GOWNLESS & BE MISTREATED AFTER SPENDING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS THEN I SUGGEST YOU RUN AWAY FROM SUKY'S!!!!!!

The staff at Suky Occasions were absolutely horrible. The store is supposed to have great customer service so I took all of my bridesmaids there to look at dresses. When we first got there, they didn't bother to check us in until I tracked someone down even though there were 8 of us there and I made an appointment weeks in advance. Needless to say, we were off to a bad start. Then, the consultant, Anna, directed us to look around at dresses and just pick what we want, which seemed ok at first but it was totally overwhelming. Part of the reason why we went to a high-end service-oriented place was so that we could have some guidance. If we just wanted to look around on our own, we could have gone to David's bridal. THEN, when we finally found a few styles that we liked and wanted to know what colors they came in (reasonable enough question), Anna told us that she didn't know and we would have to look online later. Hm....that's what you're here for--to give us information and help us make decisions. Since the short dress supply was limited, we wanted to know if any of the long dresses came in shorts, which is really common so shouldn't have been a surprise question. Again, we were told to "just look online when you get home." It seemed like she couldn't be bothered to help us the whole time. THEN, the final straw came at the very end. I had booked a double appointment because I knew that there were a bunch of girls and that trying on a bunch of dresses would probably take longer than one hour, so I asked if they would allow us to book 2 hours, to which the answer was a emphatic yes. However, about 55 minutes in to the appointment, Anna informed us that they needed the room as soon as possible and we needed to leave right away. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. The service was horrible and we were treated like scum the entire time. Then, Anna had the audacity to tell us on our way out that we should call her if we wanted to order something. Please--I would NEVER order from her. DO NOT GO HERE! Even though the reputation on the main line is that Sukys is really nice, it was awful.

It's hard to rate Suky because you work with different people there depending on where you are in the process. If you're going to try on (and possibly buy) a dress, ask to work with Kai. She is wonderful and has a great sense of style. I also felt that she was always being honest with me. I've heard from other brides who've had a good experience with her as well. She's just very cool, very stylish, and not pushy at all. After I bought my dress--a gorgeous Ulla Maija sample--I went back with my sister to try it on for her, and we were helped by another saleswoman whose name I don't remember. She was awful. She was pushing me SO HARD to buy a veil that day, even telling me that the closer I got to my wedding, I'd be such a basketcase that I wouldn't be able to decide on a breakfast cereal much less a veil. Um, please don't tell me that I'm headed toward a breakdown--this is not what a bride needs to hear. The alterations were fine. I did feel like they were rushing me through them, and I'm not sure why as I always went when the store was empty. But the seamstresses' work was really nice. Except that the snaps they sewed onto my train and veil in order to make my veil lie flat didn't really work the day of. Regardless, I LOVED my dress. And now it'll be on sale at Sabrina Anne, so another bride can love it, too. :)

I loved my dress. It was perfect for me and fitted perfectly by Suky. The store is very pretty and they have a good selection of designer dresses. The sales person was a little pushy, but I have to give them some credit because my mom and I were able to negotiate down the price of my dress. The one thing I was really unhappy with was the quality of service. I always felt rushed - especially at my fittings. I made an appointment each time and made the hour drive for my fittings, so it was frustrating when they tried to rush me out in 5 minutes. I wanted a few minutes alone with my maid of honor to try on my accessories with my dress and make sure everything went well together and it seemed like they were just frustrated that I wouldn't take the dress off and get out. It wasn't even like there were any other customers in the store. With my final fitting she had me throw on the dress and take it off almost immediately. I didn't even really get a chance to look and make sure I liked the fit.

I bought my dream wedding gown (Reem Acra) at Suky Rosan. After wearing it once, the elaborate beading on the straps is missing a lot of the beadwork. Their solution to this problem is to tell me that I must have done something to the dress, that I could buy a kit for $150 and could have it repaired. Good customer service goes out the window after the event! They are not nice to deal with after the fact. Very disappointing.

My dress was the second dress I tried on at Suky. Kye was helping us on this day and was literally running through the store as she helped us trying to find shoes, flowers, hair clips, etc. Though some of the dresses can be expensive, they have a great selection of gowns and evening wear. I felt like I was the only one in the store and the service was excellent.

They never return phone calls, they don't communicate well with each other. I ordered my dress and veil in July 2007.3 weeks before the wedding may 2008, they present me with the wrong veil. Told me that it would be fixed and to come back in 2 weeks and it will be there. 1 week before the wedding, they bring me out the same veil. They wanted to adjust it since there was no time to re-order, what they wanted to do made no sence and it wasn't going to be like what I initially ordered. I took the veil and went to another Bridal store and was basically in tears (4 days before your wedding and no veil) they made me exactly what I wanted in a day! Thank You Bridal Sophisticate! If i would have known about them prior to ordering my dress from Suky I would have been there! The only plus that Suky has is the women in the alterations. They do a great job!

Suky was sort of what I dreamed the place I'd find my wedding drews would be. And then they managed to disappoint. When you go in, you get an assistant with excellent taste to help you find the perfect wedding dress for your budget. I was completely thrilled with that. But then when my dress came in, I felt a little bullied throughout the alterations procedure. One of the assistants asked me a month before my wedding if that was "enough time to lose that extra weight." And my seamstress totally ruined the look of my dress. Unfortunately, they don't even allow you to get alterations anywhere else. So my advice? Stay away from Suky. Overpriced service.

Suky is positively the best for wedding gowns. You just can't get better. They made me feel like a princess.Everyone I dealt with was wonderful and my gown was perfect. I also got my shoes and tiara there and I loved them also.

Alterations/Bridal Gown/Bridesmaid's Dresses:
The entire staff at Suky’s was devoted to me and my bridal party every single time we were in their store. The dress selection was unmatched and the tailoring was impeccable. My bridesmaids were so impressed and said they will shop here for their own wedding dresses when their day comes.

I was able to try on many gorgeous dresses and ended up falling in love with one that was for sale off the rack (that never happens!) Suky did an amazing job getting it cleaned and altered. I had a wonderful experience here!!

The lady that helped me find my dress rushed me and made me nervous. I got the dress I tried on anyway. The salesperson totally ordered me the wrong size dress and it was too sizes too small when it came in. My bust size was measured at a 35 1/2 which is a 10 and she ordered a 6. I had no idea what the sizes meant so I trusted her, big mistake. The alteration manager basically told me that I had gained weight. It was a month before my wedding and I was so upset about how I was treated. Please shop somewhere else....

my dress was gorgeous - it fit perfectly once i received it! the trouble was before - everytime i called suky - i often did not get a call back - my dress was extremly late and i was nervous that it would not come in - in time for my wedding- i called for status and no one called me back - i had to call numberous times before getting some sort of an answer - once they gave me a date- the date was pushed out a few times-- they said that the maker was waiting on a shipment of lace- i did call the manufactuer and they did confirm that Suky was telling the truth and that they did have my order and would be sending it to Suky soon - so i suppose it was a freak thing and not Suky- but not receiving return phone calls when you are a bride freaking out about a 4K dress that you might not receive in time for you wedding- its not good- it was nerve wracking- i swear i lost 10 lbs just because of Suky - so i guess i can thank them for that! On a positive note- alterations are flawless! the seamstress - is perfect! dress fit like a glove and they did it quick!

Very helpful with selecting a dress, however, once the sale was made, all post-sale service provision was laughable. The dress wasnt packed properly, appointments for future dress fittings were lost, and additional accessories purchased were not ordered. Making a new appointment for a fitting and ensuring the additional items were finally ordered required an excess of 15 phone calls to Suky. Phone calls were never returned by staff. Staff were evasive and defensive with customer inquiries, employing a customer care approach reminiscent of a toll free computer complaints service line. The fitting itself was fine, although a bit hurried, and therefore not really worth the in-store cost and the scheduling hassle. While the dresses themselves are certainly beautiful, I would recommend Suky for window-shopping only.

Every little girl’s dream wedding comes true at Suky. The staff is so attentive and the gowns are exquisite.

I am sorry to hear Suky Rosan closed recently. Having lived in the Philadelphia area for around ten years, I used to pass the store during college, dreaming about purchasing my wedding gown there. Well, in 2006, when I got engaged and went to look for my dream gown, my experience was less than spectacular. They ordered the completely wrong color for my bridesmaids dresses and weren't even apologetic. The look on the woman's face was so insincere I will never forget it. She didn't even care. She just casually said, "Oh... well...there isn't much we can do about it so close to your date." How dare she say something like that! I don't care WHAT you have to do to get the right color, YOU JUST GET IT DONE. They also altered my Vera Wang dress too short, and the bodice was too long for my petite 5'2'' under 105 lb frame! They got it all wrong!! How could such a high end store not alter my dress correctly?? It didn't fit properly at all! It just felt so awkward to wear and way, way, way too much material. They overpoofed the dress. I was swimming in this dress! When I was trying on my dress a couple weeks before my wedding, I felt completely brushed off in the store, as if everyone was just too busy to help me. I felt so alone in that dressing room...like I couldn't talk to anyone about my reservations with the dress during my final fitting. The staff was not helpful in selecting a wedding dress. They didn't listen to what I wanted even though I showed them pictures. In fact, I didn't even feel beautiful on my wedding day! Who would think that could possibly happen with a Vera Wang gown? Well somehow it did! I guess that's why they are NO LONGER IN BUSINESS.It seems fitting considering the awful experience I had purchasing a dress and having to walk down an aisle feeling less than how I wanted to feel on my wedding day. I had the WRONG wedding dress, the WRONG bridesmaids dresses and ironically, it turned out I had the WRONG guy too!!! I ended up getting a divorce only a year after getting married. What is this?? The curse of Suky Rosan??? I have donated my $6,000 Vera Wang wedding gown to charity because I want my GOOD KARMA back. Get rid of this evilness and I am so glad to hear that this store has since closed and out of everyone's lives for good!!!!

I absolutely loved the selection at Suky. The staff gave great service and I attended one of their Vera Wang Bridal Events which was fun to do during the planning stages. I was assigned a bridal specialist and an alteration woman and it was nice to walk in and see the same people everytime.

They made trying on wedding gowns a lot of fun by letting you look through the dresses yourself and not limiting you to one style of dress. They also have a wonderful large space and lots of large mirrors so that you can see yourself from every angle. My only complaint is that they did not believe me that i drop weight when i get excited or nervous so they made me order my dress a size larger and then when i had to go through fittings it needed massive alterations (4 inches needed to be removed from the dress) and in the end it still didn't fit perfectly.

I loved shopping for my wedding gown here. My bridal consultant was fabulous. Unfortunately she left before my dress was in and I was kind of left hanging by the other people there. In the end though my alteration help was fabulous. I hired her to be at our wedding day to make sure my dress was just right, and she went above and beyond her call of duty. Overall I was happy with the place but I was upset when my bridal consultant left.

Skye was wonderful as a salesperson - very attentive. Most of the other salespeople were pushy and obnoxious. They do not have as good as a selection as they did before Suky changed management.
