This is a true story - not joking - 24 hours before my daughter's wedding the photographer she had contracted with and sent a depost to was nowhere to be found.

Despite repeated emails and phone calls, the photographer did not respond. Finally, at 1:00 p.m the day before the wedding my daughter left a message "if you don't contact me by 5:00 p.m. today, I will assume that I must make alternate arrangements for photography for my wedding tomorrow". The person did not call back until 8:00 p.m. From 5:00 - 8:00 (in between rehearsal and rehearsal dinner activities) my daughter and I called and emailed everyone we could think of that could give us a lead to get someone at least to take a few professional shots. We weren't hopeful at all until my cousin called to say her friend's daughter was a professional photographer - a state away from us - Summer Stone Studios/CT -- the wedding/MA. I gave it a shot and called Summer to explain our situation. She was immediately responsive and took the worry right off our heads. She said "I'll meet you there - what time?" Summer was at the ceremony site when we arrived. She is a beautiful person and an accomplished professional. Her willingness also, to tailor a pre-set package, was so appreciated. Summer is a young professional woman who is well on her way to a very successful career. Why? Because she listens to people and she genuinely enjoys doing what she does.

If I could afford to sky write above the biggest bridal shows in New England I would write "Summer Stone Studios - Wedding Photographer Extraordinaire"

I would recommend Summer Stone Studios without reservation for any special event that you want to enjoy again and again and again.

Summer is a wonderful, wonderful photographer!! Her creativity and her ability to capture the moment is fantastic. She has captured memories that will last a lifetime and I would definitely recommend her to anyone needing special pictures that they will want to look at years later and remember "that moment". I am fortunate to have been mentored under the artistic talents of amazing photographers in our area. For over ten years I have made sure to stay up to date with the latest and most unique artistic approaches for wedding photography. I offer a range of services from high-end gallery shows for you and your family with YOUR portraits to even joining forces with design artists for a look you won't believe!

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?

I am comfortable shooting in most any environment. However, underwater lighting and shoots may prove to be my only downfall. :)

Is your media preference film or digital?

I went to school learning film photography, but I have been digital exclusive for years now.

How many photographers do you work with?

I always offer 2 photographers per event. Depending upon the your needs, you can have as many or as few photographers as you would like.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?

ALWAYS! I absolutely love weddings! Photographing the look of love, being surrounded by those expressing love, and those unable to contain love, are the reason I am drawn to wedding portraiture.

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?

Never. My commitment to you comes from the value and significance of the day. I want to take the time to get to know you and give you the photos you desire, and this means giving you my full attention on your day/weekend.

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?

I am fortunate to have a great staff of second-shooters, however, I have yet to miss a date that I've committed to working in over 10 years.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?

I shoot with a Nikon D200 with two D100 backups. I also have 4 lens and 3 strobes that never leave my side.

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?

Always! Best to be prepared for any unexpected moment!

Do you charge hourly or full day?

I have full service packages that are typically purchased, however, I refuse to limit a couple to set pricing and services. If paying by the hour is what you prefer, we can always work out an arrangement during your booking.

Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?

My shooting time is for up to 8 hours of wedding coverage. Any time over the 8 hours requires a $125/hr fee.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?

There's really no such thing as a "break" in shooting a wedding. The camera is always ready to fire.

Do you charge for travel?

I also provide Destination Wedding Packages which do in fact require travel expenses.

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?

Your wedding proofs will be available online for you and your friends/family within 30 days of your event. Your site information will be handed to you the day of the wedding.

In what format are the initial proofs offered?

All photos are offered for viewing online. Also, you have the option of purchasing the proof book.

How long can the client keep the proofs?

The proofs remain on your online viewing site for 1 year.

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?

The copyright belongs to you! That's one of the perks of booking with SSS. You can print and share all you wish!

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?

When you book your wedding date, you'll sign a contract with all our agreements. Also on this contract is a statement allowing Summer Stone Studios to use your photos for advertisement purposes.

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?

All the photo packages offered include a CD and/or DVD of images.

Will images be available for viewing online?

Absolutely! You and your guests (with your permission) will receive a card with your personal wedding photo viewing info. The photographs will be available up to 30 days after the event.

What kind of albums do you offer?

SSS offers the most luxurious and unique albums! All are personally designed by myself and my graphic designer. We offer traditional albums, as well as magazine style photo books.

When will the client get the final album?

The book ordering process begins after you select your determined number of photos. After selection, the book is arranged and sent to you via PDF for the final overview. Once the book is sent to printing, you should receive the product within 6 weeks.
