Susie Cakes

My fiancé and I were in newport beach to meet with potential vendors for our wedding. One cancelled and I was hoping to squeeze in another tasting/wedding cake consultation at the last minute. I emailed the Newport Beach Susie Cakes and YAY she responded back. A+ for responsiveness! I was asked to send in the picture(s) of what we wanted for a cake so they could provide quotes. After I did that, I was told to call and we we were able to discuss everything, she said I could come in for a tasting (which I was happy for since it was last minute) but I can the horrible news....the cake we wanted included a draped sash from from bottom tier to top and this place does not do fondant and the sash can't be made with buttercream. We wanted a rhinestone band around the base of each tier and I was told that I would have to do that myself because they won't and also the flowers on top of the cake and at the sash corners had to be put on by our florist because they are an old fashioned bakery and don't do sugar flowers. Upon hearing all those no's, I thanked her for trying to help us out last minute but declined coming in. I think the customer service was fine, the girl was polite and helpful, but availability for service is limited. I guess it just depends on what you want for your big day.

Contact Kim at Susie Cakes for a special tasting! She is professional, fun and outgoing! Susie has THE BEST cake I have ever eaten. The cake is all made from scratch. No fondant or artificial ingredients. This is all natural, pure deliciousness! I promise! The red velvet is yummy, but my favorite was their coconut chocolate and the mint chocolate. Strawberry and vanilla was yummy too! Their pricing is VERY reasonable and they do a beautiful job on your cake!

The people at Susie's Cakes were fantastic. They were eager to help us make our wishes come true for our special day. They were very helpful and willing to do whatever needed to be done to help make our desserts work. We ordered the mini dessert bar, and adding mini cupcakes and had a wedding cake just for the bride and groom. Everything tasted perfect and was exactly as we had hoped for. Our guests got a wonderful assortment of desserts to choose from and we received several compliments regarding the dessert bar.

The gal in charge of wedding cakes was very nice and helpful. So enjoyed the great samples of the fillings and cupcakes! Best prices for wedding cakes I found!
We also supplemented ours with a Costco sheet cake just in case we needed extra. Worked out well.

Okay, first of all.. Susie Cakes baked goods are DELICIOUS. Oh my goodness, their buttercream frosting is to die for. Second, they are so kind and helpful. I got a 2 tiered cake for my wedding, and it was so tasty and beautiful! I also had a vintage-themed wedding and did an old-fashion pie bar with pies from Susie Cakes. Typically they do personal mini pies for weddings, but I wanted big pies. They also usually do only 2 pie flavors a month. After meeting with the manager, however, they totally accommodated my needs and let me choose 4 flavors of pies that they made specifically for my wedding. I ended up ordering 16 pies and nearly all of them were eaten. My guests are still talking about the pie, and my aunt said she wants to fly to California just to have their cake again! Super helpful, super nice, and scrumptious goodies!

Not only was our cake to die for it was beautiful too! We did three tiers and the top & bottom were red velvet and the second tier was lemon. It was so delicious! I have been to so many wedding where the cake looked great but tasted like a paper plate. Susie Cakes is wonderful, pleasant and their cakes are so tasty!

Best bakery cake you will ever have!!! The red velvet is outstanding. We served 170 people and the cost was so reasonable with delivery. Our guests were going crazy for the cakes. We had 6 different round cakes, chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting, lemon, marble, white cake with strawberry frosting, tropical coconut & red velvet. There's a few different locations in California, but we went to the shop in Newport Beach.

AMAZING! Susie Cakes was my favorite vendor! The red velvet sold my fiance. We had so many compliments on our cake. I highly recommend Susie Cake. Wedding, birthday, or just a special treat this place is awesome!
