Susie's Cakes can't be beat for taste and value! We got a 3 tier to serve 100 frosted in delicious chocolate fudge frosting! No other baker we tried came close! Our issues came regarding their delivery (we used the Newport Beach location)... we had been given a delivery window of 2 hours and told that they did not set it up...our wedding coordinator found this quite mystifying as it was the first she'd heard of such a practice in almost 20 years in the industry!... ends up the cake didn't arrive until the ceremony was about to begin (beyond the two hour window) which, thankfully, was the only glitch of the day. It was as delicious as we had remembered, but we were definitely disappointed that their quality of service did not match up with their product's quality.

I used the Brentwood location and got a 3-tiered round cake with a sheet cake that fed about 100 people total.

My fiance' and I KNEW we wanted red velvet cake, and Susiecakes has consistently been one of our faves through the years. So it was a little strange that that I totally forgot about them as I was going around town checking out all of these bakeries that specialize more in wedding cakes (none of whom were impressive to me taste-wise), when I finally remembered... duh, I need to check Susiecakes to see if they do wedding cakes?!!

Julia is the manager I dealt with at the Brentwood location, and they did a great tasting - we were able to try all of the cakes and various icings in tiny spoons, so we could imagine all of the possible pairings.

All of the flavors were great, but again, we settled on red velvet for the top and bottom layers, a vanilla/white cake with their strawberry icing filling for the middle layer, and we also did a chocolate sheet cake in the back as a more budget-conscious way to have a groom's cake (he loves chocolate) and to also provide our guests with one more flavor. I worked with Julia during our one simple meeting to select which design best fit our theme, and it was perfect and exactly what I thought I was getting in-person.

The only con I have is re: their delivery. They use a delivery "service," and that service was only available for certain hours each day, so that caused some stress for me with a tight venue timeline on the day of. But my wedding coordinator was able to take the cake out of the box and set it up with our topper, no problems.

The absolute best thing about this cake? I've lost count with how many people have told us it is THE BEST wedding cake they have ever had, including from one friend who used to make cakes for a living. So moist, fresh, flavorful, and delicious! The hubby and I have enjoyed leftovers every day for over a week now, and it is still DIVINE! Long live...

The caterer for our wedding recommended SusieCakes, however our wedding was in Livermore. We tried several places and kept coming back to SusieCakes. It was worth every dime of the delivery fee and after a week I am still hearing how wonderful the cupcakes were and I agree wholeheartedly. Recommended: Red Velvet Cupcakes and Carrot Cake (best I ever had).

Picked out 9 gorgeous various cakes from Susie Cakes for my wedding, and so glad I did.

They were responsive, polite, professional, and arrived on time for my wedding. Coudldn't ask for more.

Only thing was they are pretty inflexible on customizing their normal cakes... ie can't put strawberries on, etc. But they had so many options for customizing your cake otherwise, it all worked out.

Cakes all tasted FRESH, fantastic, so flavorful.

SusieCakes was a dream to work with! We had a really negative experience when we first started looking for a cake vendor, so it was really nice to work with such a professional business.

From the beginning, the wedding specialist (Li) was wonderful, and arranged a fantastic cake tasting for us. She was really open to our ideas and gave us some great options for our day. We ended up with a small, 6-inch cake for cutting, and then lots of regular-size and mini cupcakes, as well as these adorable heart-shaped tarts and a mini dessert bar (with lemon bars, brownies, cookies, etc.!) The pricing was really reasonable, too, and even less than we had budgeted initially, so I was really pleased.

The cutting-cake turned out beautifully, exactly what I had wanted, as did everything else. The only weird thing was that we had been told that the flavor for the tarts was going to be peach, but afterward, everyone told me how great the APPLE tarts were! What? I didn't get to try anything until the next day (leftovers!) and there were no tarts left, so I have no idea!

Everyone loved the variety of dessert options and thought that they were all delicious and beautiful. Plus, Li was so helpful during the process, allowing me to make (many) changes to the original order. SusieCakes is wonderful and I'd recommend them...

Great cupcakes means great cakes!! Alanna always responded to you in a timely manner and was super helpful and accommodating!

The cake tasted delicious nothing but compliments from all our guests. The only reason i rated a 4 star on flexibility is because they were unable to do some of the designs on cakes due to the better tasting frosting. I am so happy that we chose to change the design a little to accommadate this great priced cakery.

We had the red velvet wedding cake (3 tiers) and it was very delicious. Many of our guests said it was one of the best wedding cakes they ever had.
Before you order your cake, make sure you schedule a free wedding cake tasting appt. They will let you try all kinds of flavors in their store at your appt. We got ours from the Newport Beach location. Delivery charges are expensive so we had someone help us pick it up.

This cake was absolutely delicious. We got the chocolate with coconut filling. Even the FROSTING was delicious! The price was also several hundred less than what other places were charging. They don't deliver on Sundays, and my wedding was on Sunday. For an additional $25, they opened the bakery just for us and had the cake delivered. We're glad we went with SusieCakes for our wedding cake. One problem was that they charged us for a monogram, but there was no monogram on the cake. But that's it.

Susie Cakes also does wedding cakes and this is who we chose for our wedding cake vendor. They make a delicious red velvet cake, as well as other flavors, and are very flexible as to your ideas for the design of the cake. They don't work with fondant or any artificial ingredients, so your cake tastes delicious and looks beautiful!
