ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC CAKE!

For our wedding, my husband and I chose their branch design cake. It was a three-tier chocolate cake with vanilla french buttercream. The cake included three layers of fillings in each tier, so we chose: coconut mousse, vanilla custard and again coconut mousse.

The cake looked gorgeous, and tasted amazing. All our guests were saying it was the BEST wedding cake they ever had. I agree, but I am also biased...!

There were a few glitches in the process - the most significant being they forgot my cake topper. We ordered a 6" single white sugar magnolia for the top of the cake. When my caterer was setting up, she informed me the cake topper box was empty, so we ended up using leftover roses from my florist. Unfortunate, but not the end of the world. I attribute this mistake to new personnel - our original consultant was Eliza who left in early Sept. Elizabeth took over but did not work out, so Eliza came back for the rest of Sept, and then Jacquie took over. Also, I sent Jacquie an email about the topper the day after the wedding. She responded immediately apologizing for their error, and they refunded my credit card the very next business day.

The cake look and tasted amazing! If I had to go back and do it all over again, I would definitely still use Swedish Bakery, even with them forgetting my topper!

My fiance and I found Swedish Bakery through some friends. I contacted Eliza, the wedding cake consultant, via telephone and left her a message explaining our predicament: our wedding was less than two months away, and our wedding cake plans at another bakery fell through. Eliza contacted me within 24 hours and kindly and enthusiastically offered to meet with us within the next few days.

When we arrived, she quickly tended to us, greeting and welcoming us. We went to an office in the back, where she offered some beverages and started the cake consultation. We went through what we envisioned for our cake (design), wedding colors, number of guests, and other important wedding day info. She walked us through the cake tasting process in three steps: cake dough flavor, frosting flavor, and filling flavor. She was very thorough and informative with each step, and she gave us some time alone to taste each "layer" and make some decisions. She came back after we tasted each "layer" and really listened to our thoughts; she offered us some feedback, but she never once shot us down or pressured us to do anything her way. We really appreciated this because none of the other bakeries walked us through each step to give us information and tips on the flavors and such. She made the entire process very fun, too.

Towards the end of the consultation, she gave us some time to make some decisions. We decided that Swedish Bakery was a good fit, not simply because we were so close to our wedding date, but because the taste was great, the price was right, and the customer service was superb. Eliza walked us through the paperwork and boxed up the leftover cakes for us. She also gave us extra time to think about the final details of our cake and let us email her after the weekend. She walked us out and even made sure that we were taken care of promptly at the bakery since we were going to buy some stuff to take home with us.

The actual wedding cake was FANTASTIC, and our family and bridal party LOVED it. Thank you, Eliza! :)

BEST TASTING WEDDING CAKE EVER. Top/Bottom layers were fudge cake with chocolate and raspberry mouse. Middle layer was Vanilla cake with lemon and custard. Eliza was so wonderful to work with. It was easy and the tasting....the tasting will leave you in sugar shock and they even give you MILK!!!!! For the price, it was awesome and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an awesome tasting and looking wedding cake!!!

It was wonderful to work with Eliza at the Swedish Bakery. She was very patient with all my questions and always answered them in a timely manner. We chose the Swedish bakery because we were looking specifically for a bakery that could incorporate marzipan; we knew immediately at the tasting that we would get our cake from there. The cake was delicious and it looked beautiful! It was a little more expensive than we had wanted, but it was well worth it. The left over cake tastes just as good as it did on the day of the wedding!

We loved working with The Swedish Bakery and Eliza. She is very accommodating and will help you get what you want for your day. We decided to not have a traditional wedding cake and instead had marzipan frog cupcakes. They were one of the stars of the wedding. Eliza even puts a veil on the bride frog and tux on the groom frog. The taste and value at Swedish Bakery are hard to come by! We are so happy to have used them for our wedding dessert.

This bakery is extremely professional, and really works with your budget, and ideas. I cant wait to eat the top tier on my anniversary! They were on time setting up, and contacted the Park District way in advance. They have recently switched their events coordinator, but the service and taste are still up to par.

We ordered 8" circular cakes (not a single tiered cake) from Swedish bakery, in Andersonville. The cakes tasted great. They had a staff change in between our tasting & wedding. We'd changed our order a bunch of times so they must have gotten confused & gave us more cake than we ordered… bonus for us :)

We went with cupcakes instead of a traditional wedding cake. The bakery took care of the delivery without the slightest problem, which took a lot of stress off everybody.

We had our cake and pastries from here. WOW!! I don't eat cake - ever - and I ate this cake for a week after the wedding because it was sooooooooooo good. What the cakes lack in "modern flair", they completely make up for in taste.

Their cakes are out of this world. Definitely expensive, but honestly we didn't find any cake vendors that weren't expensive. This was so worth it to us, that we actually had friends pick up our cake and drive it the two hours to our wedding!
