Sweet Bakery Baltimore

The one requirement we had for our wedding cake was that it taste great, and Sweet Bakery has the best wedding cake around! We had two flavor combinations in our cake, and both were tasty (the lemon cake with vanilla cream mousse was the winner). Plus the frosting was the best I think I've ever tasted. We brought in a picture of a cake we liked for the design, and they almost matched it perfectly. The only issue was that in the picture there were small dots cascading delicately down the sides, which were fondant dots. We asked them to use buttercream, since fondant is so hard you could easily break a tooth on it! They did, except the dots were much larger, so they weren't very delicate, and they were also on the tops of the cakes. Not a big deal, and one probably only we noticed since it was not exactly what we envisioned, and they should have alerted us it would be different (e.g. the dots would have to be significantly larger). They also don't offer a 1-year anniversary cake as part of the package, which other wedding cake vendors do. Bottom line, the cake tasted fabulous, and many of our guests asked where it was from so they could order one!

I had contacted Sweet Bakery regarding a grooms cake for our rehearsal dinner. I had initially contacted them about the cake about 2 years ago and despite changes to our wedding plans and them relocating, they still had all the original information I provided them at our initial meeting. The grooms cake came out perfectly, which was my fiances green rock crawler made to look like it was climbing up a mountain with both of us in it. Everybody was so impressed with the look of the cake but also raved about how great it tasted The staff was always pleasant to speak with on the phone and they were very helpful with coordinating all the details. I even received a phone call a few days before the rehearsal to ensure that our hair color was still the same as it appeared in a picture I provdied them at our initial meeting. Talk about attention to detail! I am so happy with the final product and know that if I ever need a specialty cake againI will not hestitate to return to Sweet Bakery. Thanks so much!

Sweet Bakery was great! We had our wedding at Overhills Mansion, and Sweet Bakery had worked with them many times before. The tasting was fun, and the process went very smoothly. We wanted to have a yellow cake with chocolate icing, with fun and whimsical decorations. Unlike other bakeries we had tried, the staff was not pretentious and was more than wiling to work with us. They were friendly and down-to-earth.

Sweet Bakery went above and beyond our expectations, and the cake was absolutely delish! We got TONS of compliments on it. I'd definitely recommend them.

This was an absolutely delicious cake! The design was unique but decorations were a little off from what we discussed but not a lot. They used color swatches to match our icing to the wedding color and were easy to work with.

My now husband and I had different cake tasting and we both agreed that Sweets had the tastiest cake. We booked with them immediately and had their designer sketch a simple and elegant cake. In between the time we booked and our wedding day, our designer left. So I had to go back to Sweets and go over our cake order with their baker again. They were very nice to accommodate me and meet with me, which I really appreciated. Our cake was not the best decorated cake out there... I thought the icing was quite sloppy. But it was the most delicious cake ever. We had many compliments about our cake (rum and spice flavors). One guest even stopped me in the middle of the dance floor to rave about the cake!

Ever since I was a little girl, I have stated that my wedding cake would not be the traditional vanilla icing and would instead be my favorite chocolate icing. Well, Sweet bakery turned my childhood wish into a reality with an amazing almond cake with chocolate mousse filing and chocolate butter-cream icing. It was delicious. The whole experience with Sweet was amazing. The cake was a part of my package with the hotel and so I just e-mailed them several months before the wedding for a tasting. We went there and were surprised to be able to try so many different kinds of cake/icing variations and to have someone from Sweet guide us the whole way with the design and such. I also brought my cake-topper to Sweet and they kept it for the several months to include on the wedding. The cake delivery on the actual wedding day went on without a hitch and I really did not have to worry about my cake after that tasting appointment. Because the cake was so good, my husband and I actually ate our leftovers after the wedding and thus will go back to Sweet on our 1 year anniversary for a piece of the same cake. We received many compliments on our cake choice and how delicious it was.

I love this bakery! They were so fantastic in helping us plan our wedding cake. Even though they were in the process of moving, they took the time to meet with us for a cake tasting, draw up a sketch, email it to me and ask about design questions. They were even willing to deliver the cake to our venue, despite it being out-of-delivery-range for their new location (where they would be on the wedding day). I'm glad I contacted them before the move so we were able to use them for our wedding! The cake tasting AMAZING and it looked fantastic as well. I would highly recommend them for your cake needs. SB was recommended by my caterer/venue. I got a cake and wedding boxed labeled cake as wedding favors. Tracy's design was very much to my liking. There was a little issue with responsiveness but it turns out there was a mix up in the midst of staff change. In any event, once I talked to Tracy, I was at ease. I didn't really know what I wanted, I basically looked to her for suggestions and she brought it. Her drawings and the real thing was on point. Overall I was very pleased.

Um. The cake tasted even better than it did at the tasting. Enough said. :) And it was absolutely beautiful (better than I imagined). They were totally flexible about letting us drop the cake topper at the hotel instead of the bakery. Great bakery. Responsive people. Very Flexible. And best of all, the price was right. I definitely recommend Sweet.

Sweet bakery provided our wedding with a beautiful, 4 tier, custom-designed wedding cake with 3 different flavors.
Working with Sweet, they were able to design me, down to the littlest detail, my dream wedding cake. We went through several different designs before settling on a final. The staff there are very professional, although I only gave 4 stars for responsiveness because it wasn't always easy to contact them. Granted, they were going through a move during the process, so that definitely could be most of it, but they only have one general email address to contact them. I think it would be better if the different designers/bakers, etc. had individual emails so contact would be a little more personalized. Every time I emailed them, I never knew who was reading it, so addressing them was always a little awkward.
The major thing I was disappointed in, and the reason I had to give 3 stars for Quality of Service, was the actual cake on the day of the wedding. The week before, I talked to Sweet about my design, as they were worried the custom base we had originally designed would make the tall cake unstable. I told them to take every creative liberty with the cake in order to make it stable. After all, I'm not a cake designer. They knew my colors, and overall look I wanted, so I trusted that any tweaks they might do would be cohesive.
When I walked into my venue an hour and a half before the ceremony started, I immediately noticed that the cake was leaning. I was also informed that unlike originally planned, we would not be able to wheel the cake out to the center of the dance floor for cutting as the cake might fall. I was fine with this, but disappointed that the cake was so obviously leaning.
Before the guests were even let in for the ceremony, the venue had to take off the top tier of the cake as it began to lean even more.
Overall, it honestly looked fine, and I wasn't upset by the whole thing, but it was more out of principle that I was disappointed in this. I explicitly gave them permission to make the cake stand and it didn't even make it to the ceremony. Especially when you pay so much for a custom cake (that looked completely beautiful by the way), the thing should at least stand up if they tell you it would. If the design was a concern, it should have been changed from the very beginning. My dad did contact Sweet after the wedding to tell them about the design flaw, and they were very quick to offer to amend the situation by assuring us any cake we wanted in the future would be taken care of. They were very professional about the whole thing, and despite the design flaw, I would recommend them.
One serious plus was that we chose buttercream over fondant, which I would absolutely recommend, because the cake tasted AMAZING. We even ate slices 2 days later and they were still so moist and delicious.

Overall, Sweet is a great bakery, and they do a great job with cakes. I chalk up the design flaw to a fluke that they handled professionally. The cake still looked beautiful and tasted amazing. I would still recommend them to anyone looking for a cake with a wonderful, personal touch.

Our cake was beautiful and delicious. We are already looking forward to our free first anniversary cake!

Everyone loved the cake Sweet made for us. They were forced to move several months before our wedding, but did not increase the delivery charge for the new distance. The consultation went really well, and when we changed our mind on the type of fondant flowers, they were completely on board - and even used my drawing of what we wanted the cake to look like on my contract. It was wonderful looking, and once cut - great tasting. We ordered enough for 75....and it was exactly what we ended up serving. The only regret was that the original contract had said for us to bring 1/2 inch ribbons, which looked a little small on the final cake - and I wished I had bought 1 1/2 inch ribbon instead. They were awesome and we would totally use them again!

The tasting was great. I gave them specific details (which were pretty simple and basic detail requests) and even a picture of what I wanted for the cake. When we saw the cake it was definitely different than the style we wanted. I was disappointed because I even gave them a picture and yet it didn't turn out the way I asked. I spent a lot of money and it is upsetting that they didn't execute it the way I requested them to do so. It still looked pretty but it wasn't the design I asked for. Cake tasted great but the style wasn't what we asked for.

They were also in the process of moving to another location so that didn't help as far as communication and trying to reach them. They never even informed me or notified me that they were moving. If I didn't research and find out on my own, I wouldn't have known where they moved the bakery!

I would not recommend them because for the money you spend they should listen to what you want especially when you give them an actual picture to follow for the style!

Compared to my other wedding vendors (regarding communication, execution, and listening to what we wanted for our special day, etc.) our bakery was at the bottom. I guess i expected more since a lot of my other vendors were so amazing and attentive to us.

Our cake was provided by Sweet, through our contract at the Westin. We were very happy with the bakery and they made everything very simple. We scheduled a tasting where they show you a menu of flavor options and have you pick out your favorites. Then they whip those up and will make any other samples you would like while you are doing the tasting. We had a three tier round butter cream cake with each tier having a different flavor. Our cake design was simple white icing with a pink and yellow sugar flower cascade. The flower colors were a bit brighter than we had requested but it was still very beautiful and tasted great!

We used Sweet for our wedding cupcakes. They were all delicious! Jamie was very helpful in picking out a design and flavors. I would highly recommend Sweet!

Our wedding cake was the best I've tasted at any wedding. I know it was my wedding and I might be a little biased, but everyone couldnt stop talking about how moist and delicious it was. It was excellent!

Warning, the prices are high but the cake is worth it! Also, be on time for your appointment. They make them back to back and if you are late... they try to send your samples home with you!

The cake, which is typically the most enjoyable part of the wedding planning experience, was our only hiccup. That's where Sweet came in! We had a cake all set through our site; however, we had a few issues with the baker and decided to opt out and look for a different option. During our process we found that many of the bakers around town were not as professional as we would have liked them to be, until, that is, we found Sweet! We worked with Jamie, who was an absolute pleasure (and very professional and responsive). After looking through their work, we opted for cupcakes and a cutting cake for us. We ended up with four different flavor cupcakes (one which they had never done as a cupcake, but didn't hesitate to do for us) and they were a huge hit at the wedding (and delicious when we were able to taste them the next day)!! Not only was this a fun part of the wedding, but the display that was set up was far beyond our expectations and was absolutely beautiful. Sweet was able to pull off beautiful and fun - exactly what we were looking for!!! I would highly recommend working with Sweet and Jamie and can't wait for our anniversary cake.

It was hard to decide which flavors to have in the tiers of our cake. We picked butter cake with keylime icing, chocolate cakse with creamcheese icing, and yellow cake with chocolate buttercream icing and coconut icing. It was delicious!!!! I had never thought to have keylime in the icing, but it was so light and refreshing, my favorite. The cake arrived on time and was even prettier than I though it would be. The wedding cake coordinator helped us design a beautiful winter wonderland wedding cake. Although the price is more than a few of the other cakes I tasted, it was the most delicious and worth every penny!!!

Sweet was the cake "included" in our wedding package at the Baltimore Marriott at Camden Yards.

I only saw the owner Chris in passing walking into and out of his store. I never really dealt with him in this process.

The tasting was excellent. The other reviewers described the process so well. You pick what you want to try, in what combinations you want, and they whip it up for you. Very fun and very good.

We were very excited when our cake designer was inspired by the unique elements for our wedding, namely the handblown glass centerpieces Tim McFadden created, and told us she could mirror the look in fondant along the bottom of our cake. It was just going to cost us more...so we paid it right there and then.

Then as planning progressed, a couple of months before our wedding, one of our friends wanted to make a cake topper for us and asked me to get the cake dimensions. When I got the dimensions I was disapointed. We thought it would be taller. We discussed increasing the height of the cake and agreed on an option and a price over the phone.

When I called a month or so before the wedding because I hadn't recieved a bill for the extra height (we'd paid on the spot for the other extra costs so i wasn't too worried) I was orginally told no the price they quoted me on the phone was wrong. I was sad but at this point we'd paid off all the other vendors and were just looking at the large looming chunk left for the main event. We didn't want to mess with a hundred here and a hundred there mentality so we said no to the height and the extra, extra costs. Then they emailed me and said they would honor the phone quote and did I still want to do it. We did so we paid the lower extra, extra cost.

I stopped by to pay for the height increase and to drop off my topper and they were very flexible about when I could do that.

On the big day everything else about the wedding was fantastic. The cake however was the wrong color. The fondant we'd paid extra for was baby blue rather than dark purple and black like they had drawn it in our consulation. The cake was very tasty, and I assume taller although I did not measure it, and the correct flavors were on the inside but instead of going with our look we had an "IT'S A BOY" cake.

On my honeymoon I emailed Sweet to let them know about the cake and sent them a picture of what it looked like. They replied and told me a bunch of stuff about what had gone wrong including the fact that the intial designer we met with had been off and didn't actually worked on our cake...blah blah blah...they then offered me a store credit for the amount of the fondant work and said sorry.

Their handling of the whole process was just eh to me...
Who knows in the future if I get pregnant, maybe, just maybe, it'll be time to turn in that store credit...IT'S A BOY!!!

Sweet is a great bakery. When we went in there we had a picture of a cake we had seen that we wanted replicated and they did a great job working with us. Not only that, but the finished product was absolutely stunning and more amazing than what the picture was or what we had hoped for. They were very professional and did an outstanding job on our cake that tasted amazing.

Awesome, delicious and beautiful cake and cupcakes! We loved working with Sweet and would highly recommend them!

Sweet has the most amazing cakes! We used Sweet for both our wedding cake and the grooms’ cake. What I personally liked most was the tasting. When you come in they give you a menu and you can mix and match the flavors you want to try. They then go in the back and put together exactly what you want to try. Every other cake place I went to had premade slices and that’s all you could try; if you wanted to mix one flavor with another you had to pull the other pieces of cake apart and do it yourself. Not at Sweet! They mixed and matched about a million different flavors for us! My husband is a huge Ravens fan and a loves Reese’s. So, for the grooms cake they made the Raven’s logo and it was chocolate cake with a peanut butter buttercream filling and they even put a layer of real peanut better in there! It was amazingly good! The wedding cake was also exactly what I wanted.

Sweet is an awesome bakery. They are the only bakery we found that would provide a wedding "cake" made of cupcakes. They allowed us to choose several different flavors and each one of them was delicious!

Our guests raved about the quality and portion size of the cupcakes and enjoyed hunting for the flavors they liked. The massive "top tier" cupcake is a wonder. (It might not make it to our first anniversary!)

We would definitely use them again and highly recommend them to others.

The cake at Sweet is, hands-down, the best cake I have ever eaten in my entire life! My husband and I found Sweet at a bridal convention and were hooked after trying one sample. We ended up choosing two types of cake for our wedding (spice cake with cream cheese filling, and chocolate chip cake with cannoli filling), and were extremely pleased with the results! And the design on the cake was everything we wanted: simple and beautiful! We made some changes to the design we originally ordered, and they were happy to accommodate our requested changes. Sadly, on our wedding night, we didn't get to eat that much cake, but luckily Sweet gives you a free top tier on your one-year anniversary, and I cannot wait until next year to eat the whole thing!

We looked to Sweet when we thought of getting our wedding cake and even though we looked at one other bakery for a quote I was sold on Sweet as soon as we left, they were very detailed in explaining how they will build the cake to your liking, the colors we wanted, the design we wanted, and they had examples of everything which really made the process very easy and painless. I highly recommend Sweet.

We changed our minds several times when selecting our wedding cake. Each time Chris from Sweet. was very friendly, flexible, and would offer additional ideas based on what we wanted. More importantly, the cake was delicious! Our guests could not stop talking about it. I have recommended them to my other friends who are getting married.

We LOVED our cake. After we initially picked out our design at our tasting we had second thoughts and the bakery was more than happy to set up a second appointment for us to make changes. We showed them a few pictures of cakes we liked and then gave them total creative control. The cake was beautiful. So many of our guests commented on how pretty it was, and how great it tasted. My wedding was the 4th wedding I have seen/had a Sweet cake and they always do a great job!

We loved our wedding cakes from Sweet! That's right cakes. We had three separate wedding cakes and they all looked and tasted great. Working with Sweet was great right from the beginning. We met with them for a tasting and knew right away we had found out baker. Then they were willing to work/adjust/edit and design the three wedding cakes we wanted. We wanted out cakes to be very originally and ended up on designs that had a two-tier square cake as the center piece and two small round cakes to go on either side of the main cake. If we had any regrets about our wedding cakes, it would just be that we didn't get to spend more time with them on our wedding day. I was only able to grab a piece of the chocolate cake (heaven!) on our way out the door, but was assured by guests that all three cakes tasted delicious.

The wedding cake was absolutely gorgeous! It looked better than I imagined it would look. All my guests commented that the cake was delicious -- some of my guests asked for seconds! I definitely recommend Sweet - a bakery and cafe.

We did cupcakes for our wedding cake and Sweet was definitely accomodating and helpful. The tasting went fine and (I already knew what flavors I was thinking) and they were able to work it out. After the tasting is when I feel like they were a bit no responsive at first. When we dropped of the deposit and another time when we went to pick up the cupcake stand I felt like they didn't know who we were and what we wanted. But when I emailed them to see if I could change my order a little bit, they responded quickly and accommodated my request. And when the day came...absolutely no complaints! The cupcakes not only looked amazing, but tasted amazing!

Our wedding cake from SWEET was both amazing to look at and to taste! We had the almond flavored cake with chocolate mousse filling and it was TO DIE FOR (far and away better than any other cake we tasted)!! My only regret is that I didn't get to eat more than a few bites because I was so busy during the reception!

Our wedding was on July 24 2010. The people at Sweet were very helpful. When we arrived, they greeted us in a really friendly manner. They even offered us free drinks. The owner then talked to us about how we wanted our cake decorated. Then, on the spot, gave us tasting of different flavors of cakes with different fillings. Both at the tasting, and at our wedding, the cake was the best tasting cake ever! However, we did not feel that our wedding cake looked pretty. We had a three tier cake, but the piped icing did not look very nice.

Sweet made my grooms cake last week. The cake was wonderful! The design was exactly what we requested and it tasted great. The service was great, very accommodating, and the cake was a lot cheaper than other estimates I had received. I would recommend them in a heartbeat!!

Our wedding cake was incredible. I am a dessert person and can appreciate a good cake and this one wins the prize. Sweet has great ideas about what your cake should look like and they have a fantastic finished product. I was not hungry at my wedding and didn't eat much dinner, but I ate every drop of the cake, that's how good it was. Everyone at the wedding gave rave reviews of the cake and very little of it was wasted.

The cake was really good and many of our guests have commented on how much they liked it. When we went for our tasting, the staff was friendly and helpful. They didn't quite get the design I wanted, but it was still very pretty. One time, I stopped by the bakery to make a slight change to the order (just changing the type of cake from almond to choc chip) and some of the workers were a little distressed which surprised me.

We had cupcakes (with a cake on top) and it was perfect! Everyone loved the help yourself service - especially the kids! We had some folks who couldn't wait til we cut the cake before they were trying to sneak one :)

We were able to get exactly what we wanted from sweet.a bakery. Our cake was delicious! The only snag (which i was not aware of at the time) is that the delivery of our cake and cupcakes was late on our wedding day.

We went to a bridal show and sampled cakes from different bakeries. We loved the cake from Sweet, so I went with my fiance and mother for a tasting. We loved all the different cake, filling and icing flavors! We finally settled on different choices for each tier - vanilla cake with chocolate mousse filling, chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling, and lemon cake with european raspberry filling, all with vanilla buttercream icing. The gentleman that met with us during the tasting was very helpful and allowed us to taste whatever we wanted. He made helpful suggestions with decorating ideas. I decided to make a few minor changes to the design a couple weeks before the wedding, and the cake turned out exactly as I requested. I would have given Sweet a perfect score, except I had to call back a couple times to request my email verification of the changes. I also ordered my rehearsal dinner cake from Sweet, and requested my bridal party to order my shower cake from them also. All the cakes were beautiful, decorated exactly as requested, and tasted delicious. So many of my wedding guests said it was the best cake they'd ever had. I believe them - there wasn't any left! A lot of people told me they ate two or three pieces! Sweet makes a cake for your first year anniversary, so you don't have to freeze the top layer and hope it still tastes fresh. I highly recommend Sweet!

Yum yum yum! We had a two-tier cake that actually had two different flavors. We only got to try a bite of the almond-flavored cake with the apricot filling (woohoo, it's still yummy!) but the red velvet, which they also make by scratch and with real chocolate, was truly devoured... sniff, we didn't get to try it. But there's a cool twist to Sweet bakery: they don't expect you to save a part of your cake in a friggin freezer (wtf? you might find fish befriended it while you ignored you cake).

Sweet actually will bake you a cake to share on your one-year anniversary! Our cake was luscious, moist, buttery-good and had that mixture of tart with sweet that I love. We wanted a simple design, and they will take ribbon or whatever you want, to use it. And they also make sure to work with your wedding colors and tastes to make sure it's as simple as we wanted, or as gaudy as anyone might like them. We made our minds up at the tasting that they do at the store on Main Street in downtown Ellicott City. A neat location that both people should visit (don't go by yourself - take your significant there), and then have a nice romantic lunch or window shop.

I love cake. Finding a great cake in the Baltimore area took some time. In fact, I only found Sweet about a month before my wedding. I tried Sugarbakers and was not impressed. All of the cakes I tried had problems and the biggest was tasteless icing.

When I found Sweet I was overjoyed. The cakes are moist and the icing is out of this world. If a great tasting cake is what you are looking for, look no further – I promise you. I was highly impressed with how great the cake looked too. I chose a simple design with cobalt blue ribbon and tiny dots of white icing all over, and it looked elegant. I ordered enough cake for about 95 people even though there were only about 73 guests. The cake was all eaten. Sweet gives you a complimentary cake on your first anniversary so no need to save the top tier. Even though Sweet is a bit of a hike from my home in D.C., I have found my go-to bakery.

We ordered our wedding cake through sweet bakery and when we saw the cake on our wedding day, it wasn't the same design we originally had discussed in our meeting. But the cake was beautiful and in all honesty, my husband and I didn't care, it still was out color palette and still had the topper we talked about and the same flavors we picked out. The cake was absoutely delicious, the best wedding cake i've ever tasted. I would probably recommend them to others because their cakes are wonderful, but i would say if you're picky, make sure you clarify exactly what design you want.

Sweet did our cake, it was awesome! We went in for the tasting and loved every morsel.

We had a traditional weddng cake done completely based on the the invitation theme. They were able to to copy it down to a tee.

We also did a custom grooms cake, with my now husbands car and a skate ramp. It was really cute.

Sweet did an awesome job! We ordered a Pantheon shaped cake that ended up exactly how we pictured. The staff at Sweet was excited by the challenge and listened to what we wanted. Other bakeries we looked at were not accomodating and wanted to make a much bigger cake at a much, much, larger price than was right for our small wedding. The cake was very detailed and helped to make our day special.

The cake was delicious and the decorations were just what we wanted. The only negative was we had ordered two different flavors, but only ended up getting one flavor. It was not a big deal though because it was the best cake ever. I have been to plenty of weddings where the cake was only ok. I was determined not to let that happen to us. We had beautiful cake that also tasted great. Sweet also does an anniversary cake so you do not have to save the cake top for a year! Overall, I think they did an excellent job on the cake. We got many compliments on both the flavor and appearance of the cake.

First and foremost, the cake was delicious! Everyone raved about it...and the design. I try to think out of the box and wanted a 'mad-hatter' cake. I was leary since I had seen really really bad ones, but decided to go with it. As soon as I stepped in the ballroom and caught a glipse of it, I was exstatic. It had the bright colors and fun design that we asked for....definitely stood out. The staff there was great to work with and full of ideas...and talent!

They also created our groom's cake. It was a, to scale, club sandwich - complete with edible sugar potato chips and pickle. My husband was thrilled - as that's his favorite food.

Sweet did a great job on the design of our cake, they did exactly what we asked for. It was also yummy too! We asked for the lemon cake with raspberry filling, and boy was it good! We didn't have any left over after the wedding, but that's okay, we're looking forward to our first anniversary and the free top tier :)

Our wedding cake was both beautiful and delicious. If only we had more time during the evening to really enjoy looking at the cake. It is beautiful in the pictures though. We selected a key lime cake and it was fabulous. It was moist and the icing was just sweet enough. The team at Sweet worked with us to design our dream cake and they delivered!

We only have one complaint about Sweet. They have ruined our enjoyment of anyone else's cake! ;-) Since our wedding we have been craving more cake, and every other cake we have tried just simply falls short of Sweet's. We highly recommend them! We wanted just buttercream icing even though it may not look as neat and polished as fondant, but we were willing to accept that for a really yummy-tasting cake. But with Sweet we didn't have to sacrifice appearance for taste, we got to have our cake and eat it too, literally! The cake was very smooth and professional looking, and the design detail was obviously done with great care. (And I used to decorate cakes, so I can be a pit picky in this arena.) We got chocolate with vanilla filling, and lemon with raspberry filling. The flavors were wonderfully balanced, and the frosting was yummy, not too heavy or too sweet. Our guests raved about both how it looked and how it tasted. It was our only dessert and we wanted people to be able to have both flavors if they wanted to, so we ordered more than 200 "servings" for 65 people (yes, 65), and we only had enough left over for 3 people to take a couple of slices of the lemon cake home. Granted, the restaurant sliced them larger than the usual wedding cake serving size, but I was still surprised how quickly it went! And don't believe anyone who tells you that people don't like chocolate cake, we went through all 100 servings and there wasn't even a crumb left over! We couldn't have been happier with our cake. Our only problem now is that waiting a year to get our anniversary tier will simply be too long! We'll have to find an excuse to get more cake from them soon just to satisfy our craving.

A Sweet Bakery worked with us to create a beautiful cake that stayed within our budget. It was delicious, and our guests enjoyed having a choice of three flavors of cake...one of which was chocolate chip cake! We are more than looking forward to eating our anniversary cake next year!

I love, Love Loved my cake. We could not leave the table because we had to finish our piece. Everyone enjoyed the cake at the wedding. I was so impressed with the bakery that my mom even got my bridal shower cake done their too. They made a three tier MAC cake that was the talk of the party. Their prices were resonable and the taste was superior!!!

We chose cupcakes for our wedding and Sweet did a fantastic job! We ordered six different cupcake flavors (150 cupcakes) with flower petal icing and even with only 108 guests, all of the cupcakes went! We thought they did a great job with our tasty wedding cake alternative!

I recommend Sweet bakery to all my friends that are getting married, or even those that just need a cake for any occasion. My husband and I wanted a very simple cake buffet, and sweet more than delivered. We brought in paint chips to match the colors of the icing, and there was a surprise waiting for us when we went to cut the cake! In addition to the smaller rounds, we also had a small ivory 2 tier cake, which we though would have one gumpaste flower and ribbon on the cake. Instead, there was a beautiful display of gumpaste frangipani on top and I sincerely wish Weddingwire would allow reviewers to attach photos. I smile every time I think about it.

Also, they provide you with a fresh first anniversary cake! Since our caterer did not cut the top tier (though we asked them to) we saved the top tier and tried it, along with our fresh cake for our anniversary. What a great way to celebrate!

Beautiful, delicious cake! The price was reasonable, on the lower end of what we had looked at, and the cake was fabulous. It couldn't have looked better and it tasted great too. We barely had any left! Sweet bakery was easy to work with, stuck to the contract/drawn up cake, and delivered on time. Wonderful!

AMAZING! Sweet was a very easy vendor to work with. We had gone to another popular bakery and the price was just too high. Sweet worked with our budget and the cake was beautiful. We asked the baker to copy the design on our wedding invitations...I can't believe how perfect the cake was. More importantly, the cake tasted great. My husband ate three pieces at the reception! We only had to go to Sweet once to talk about what we wanted. After that I just sent them a copy of the invitation and everything was perfect. Thank you so much!

Our wedding cake was gorgeous! The cake coordinator took the time to sit down with us, gather ideas, and make sure we would have exactly what we wanted. The cake tasted delicious too! Many of our guests on how they had never had such a great tasting wedding cake before!

The cake tastes great. We were looking for taste more than look, but Sweet Bakery can bring them both! The wedding cake was gorgeous and the flowers on my cake matched the flowers in my boquet! I actually went in there 8 days before my wedding and changed the whole design of my wedding cake (I was having a crisis). They didn't even mind and didn't charge me anything for it!

Sweet is a small bakery that really makes you feel comfortable and confident that your cake will be exactly how you want it.

My favorite part of the whole wedding was seeing our wedding cake!!! I had designed it with the bakery and wasn't sure how it would come out, but it was perfect. They worked great with me to design a very untraditional wedding cake with several different shapes, such as square, round hex, as the different tiers!! I was very impressed with their skills. The cake tiers were each different with polka dots, stripes, designs and they did it perfectly to what I had imagined. The cake favors were fanastic too. We loved the chocolate with raspberry!! I would defintely use them again for my cakes.

Our consultation was professional, yet laid back. The baker worked with us to make sure we got exactly what we wanted and boy did we! The attention to detail was awesome. We knew what we wanted but the baker helped us to made our cake really stand out by doing something as simple as tinting the icing ivory so our white swiss dots would really pop. It was simple, beautiful, fresh, awesome, and just absolutely AMAZING. I ate two pieces, one of them while out on the dance floor and I actually put my drink down to eat it! It was that good! Some guests told me they had one of each layer and went back for more! I would have eaten more myself had I not been whisked out for pictures ...

Not only did it taste good but it was the highlight of our reception. We received numerous comments on how simple and elegant it was. People loved the off-center design and, honestly, it ended up making the cake cutting that much easier, plus, we got a bigger piece to share!

If you are getting married within the radius of Sweet's delivery area, USE THEM. Seriously, best wedding cake ever.

They did a fabulous job with our cake! I took them a magazine picture of a cake that I wanted and they did a great job replicating it! They were even able to adjust it to accommodate our theme and colors. In addition, the cake tasted fabulous and we received many complements on it!

We worked with Chris at Sweet to design our wedding cake and it was perfect! Although I didn't necessarily pick anything too difficult, the cake was exactly what I envisioned and it was delicious!!! The price was very reasonable and they do a great tasting with you to choose your flavor. The process was very easy and we had no problems whatsoever. They even provide us with a free anniversary cake on our first anniversary! We'll be looking forward to that for sure! Chris was very responsive and answered all of my questions via email in a timely manner, which is great for a person like me who is busy at work and doesn't have much time for phone calls. I was even lucky enough to get a preview of my cake before the wedding since my matron of honor ordered my bridal shower cake from them as well. They did a wonderful job on that cake too! I would highly recommend Sweet for a delicious and beautiful wedding cake!

The cake was beautiful and delicious, however I felt a little mislead by the size of the cake. I thought it would be bigger and was disappointed. They showed me a sample there, but I feel like my cake didn't meet that expectation. Delicious cakes though - I would recommend getting exact dimensions for your cake.

though the wedding cake tasting great, i was disappointed with the design. the look was not at all what i invisioned or what i thought i described to the chef.

We had gone to another bakery first which was highly recommended....I'm glad we chose Sweet! When we had our tasting at Sweet we felt comfortable and the baker was very down to earth. I love their price options too! With most bakeries you have a base price and then it goes up from there depending on what you want; it can wind up to cost quite a bit more than you planned. With Sweet, there are only two choices. (you must check out their website) At first we thought we wouldn't be able to get the look we wanted within the two options, but we really did! Sweet has found a way to make buying a wedding cake easy and relaxing! They listened to our ideas (which weren't many) and we came up with the perfect cake! Our guest raved about the cake too. Their cake is so moist and their choices are great! We highly recommend Sweet to anyone for any occasion. We're going to go back on our one year anniversary to get another cake done! (we opted out of the anniversary tier though they do have that)

I provided this bakery with a unique original design. And they were able to copy it almost exactly. The cake looked beautiful and caught everyone's eye. I also had them make up a new recipe for a favorite flavor of my husband's. The cake was delicious too!

We didn't want a traditional white cake and Tracy designed a cake just to our liking. The cake delivered varied quite a bit from her sketch, but it looked nice and tasted great.

We got so many complements on our cake! Not only did it look wonderful, it was delicious! I rated them just a bit lower on responsiveness only because they were slow to respond to email. I have been getting cakes from this bakery my whole life, though, and the quality far outweighs the email inconvenience. My recommendation would be to call them rather than emailing - they return calls very promptly.

We loved our cake and had a very pleasant experience with the staff at Sweet (formerly known as Fisher’s Bakery). We had almond pound cake with raspberry filling. The cake was a simple design – very smooth buttercream, and a blooming branch of dogwood flowers going up the three round layers. We ordered a cake for 150 (4 tiers) and got a sheet cake for 45 to fill in the gaps of our 175 person reception. We were able to take home the top tier and even got a gift certificate for a free cake on our one year anniversary. They did an excellent job, it tasted great. The guests really loved the design – if you could only see how many people took pictures of it with the table cameras…it was a little crazy!

The cake was designed/decorated just like all the photographs that i gave Chris Sikora (owner). The grooms cake was a golf course...looked too good to eat!

The flavor was amazing. Butter almond with ammaretto & red velvet with creamcheese icing...to die for!

Chris is a heavenly baker because my cake was so YUMMY! It looked perfect and it tasted better. The bakery at Fisher's does many other things as well and I would recommend you go there if you need a great cake or some yummy artisan breads for any occasion. Our tasting was awesome and Chris was very laid back. He gave us enough support to make a decision, but he let US make it. We went with four completely different layers and flavors and he didn't even bat an eyelash. All four were great too! We didn't freeze our top layer because we ended up eating the rest of it that night in our hotel suite :)

I LOVE this bakery! They have been around forever, they even did my mom's wedding cake 24 years ago. The service is great and the cakes are awesome! They are a little expensive but it is worth every penny. I highly recommend Fisher's Bakery!

We highly recommend this cake company for your wedding day. We have probably been to almost 40 weddings or so in the last few years and have tasted a lot of cake! Many times you taste test wedding cake and it's delicious because it's only made in small amounts for sampling. With this company, you get exactly what you taste! The cake was decorated exactly how it was pictured in one of their cake books, and looked like a dream! We decided to eat our top when we arrived home from our honeymoon thinking that it would not freeze for a year and it was still delicious a week later. I cannot say enough good things about them! For our one year anniversary, my husband went back to them and they recreated the top to our wedding cake, including the design!
