Sweet Adeline Bakeshop

Sweet Adeline made a really nice cake for my wedding and it was VERY delicious! The cost was much less than most other places I looked at, but the options for designs were limited. The owner Jennifer was very nice to work with, but I spoke to the manager there at one point and she was a little rude. Overall, I would recommend Sweet Adeline if you want a good tasting cake (especially the chocolate ganache which is what we had) for a decent price without all the frills.

Beautiful cake with flowers from the cake designer's backyard garden! It was exactly what we were hoping for. Their frosting is delicious...much tastier than the more expensive bakery we tried out first. Yum!!

Jennifer at Sweet Adeline was absolutely wonderful to work with for our wedding cake. She helped us choose the flavors and design, and her multi-tiered cake was not only absolutely delicious, but beautiful too! We brought Jennifer the flowers to match our bouquets and she utilized them as well as supplemented them with carefully selected flowers from her own garden when our flowers fell short for the job!

Sweet Adeline's price point and value was also better than anyone else we spoke with, and the cakes were so good that there was not even one piece left! Our guests loved the cake and were all asking where it came from during and after the wedding. Subsequently, we have gone back to Sweet Adeline for other special occasions, including the cake for my recent baby shower! Again the cake was devoured!

We decided to go with Sweet Adeline for our wedding cake as the price was MUCH more reasonable that some of the other bakeries we did tastings at. It was a great decision! We were much more concerned with how the cake tasted than the decoration, so we kept it very simple. We had white sponge cake with two flavor options (a lemon filling and a berry/cream filling). I love lemon and this flavor was very lemony. Yum! The guests who had the berry filling really enjoyed it too.

Even though we had a very simple design for our cake, I was very pleased with the way it turned out. I had provided a swatch of color for Jennifer to match, and it was spot on.

Overall, great, low-key service, tasty cake, and a VERY reasonable price. A good bet for brides in the Berkeley/Oakland area!
