Sweet Creations Village Bakers
Sweet Creations is a place my family goes to monthly to get our birthday cakes and other celebration cakes. This was actually our first vendor since we knew that Sweet Creations would do our wedding cake! We love the cake and frosting.. yum!!
When we were supposed to meet with Sweet Creations the first time, the person we were supposed to talk to, didn't come in that day, so we showed up with a cancelled appoitment (someone should have called us). When we came the second time, everything went smoothly, and I ordered the cake of my dreams -- BEAUTIFUL cake!
Go with Sweet Creations, you won't regret it! Just make sure you always talk to the owner or his wife.
We picked a 3 tier champagne cake with rapserry filling and it was delicious. The fountain was the perfect shade of blue to match the wedding party.
I had no problems getting a hold of the baker for the tasting, however when I did call back to confirm the delivery time it was a bit of a challenge. There are younger staff working and it does not seem like it is the most organized.
Overall I would go with them again for any cakes I need in the future.
I wrapped our annivesary cake and I had some other left over that I wrapped and put in the fridge and when I cut myself a piece of the left overs 3 weeks later it was still as moist as the day of the wedding.
My now husband and I met with 13 different bakeries and ended up picking Sweet Creations in Slinger. I had found a picture of a wedding cake that was designed to match my wedding dress. None of the places we met with, including the Cake Lady and Simmas, could really tell me how the cake could be recreated. I met with Derick the owner, who I called my own cake boss, and he knew right away how to recreate my dream wedding cake. We did not have any cake left over from the wedding because it was so good.
The only thing I did not like about the bakery, was working with the owner's wife which was just on our intial visit. She is not the friendliest gal and likes to think she knows what she it talking about.
I would strongly suggest this bakery to any bride and groom...but just ask to meet with Derrick!
I wanted a white cake to match my cake topper. I had a consultation with the owner's wife who insisted we put red rose petals on the cake if we wanted it to look good. She insisted until we gave in to make her shut up. Otherwise the cake ended up beautiful (we never delivered the petals), tasted amazing, and was well worth the affordable price we paid for it. I was pleased.
The cake was fantastic in taste. However, it didn't look the way we thought it would. For example, we had a fall themed cake and we had agreed that there would be acorns (made of frosting), well the ones we saw pictures of were big and the ones on our cake were unrecognizable as acorns. Plus, they never called us to get our final numbers. I called them Thursday (my wedding was Saturday) to give them the numbers and the baker said he had already made our cake for 300 people. We only had 240 - that was disappointing. We ended up giving our cake away to patrons in the bar area by the end of thenight. Then, we ordered a lemon filling - some of the lemon filling was cream based and some was more of that clear 'authentic" lemon filling. I totally recommend them, but I would stay on top of them a little better.
The cake was amazing---in looks and taste!
