Sylvia's Flowers

Sylvia's Flowers provided the bouquets and boutonnieres for our wedding. Working with Rich was great. He had fantastic ideas for my flowers based on the details of our wedding and the season. My favorite suggestion was to have the mothers carry posies instead of wear a corsage. Our moms loved them! Alexa was so easy to communicate with. She was very responsive and on top of everything. The flowers were delivered to our hotel in a timely fashion and looked beautiful. They brought out the colors of our wedding and also the colors of fall. Sylvia's Flowers is one of the best out there!

Sylvia's Flowers was my first pick for my wedding and I'm so happy that I went with them. Rich was my florist and he was great! When I met with him, I could tell that he had a lot of experience and that I could trust him. My flowers were GORGEOUS and the shop was flexible when changes needed to be made. Communication was seamless when emailing Alexa. She was beyond wonderful. My family, husband and I were very pleased! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND them as they are professional and do a great job!

My first meeting with Rich, I knew he was the florist for us. He was fun & had a great sense of humor, truly a breeze to work with. I gave him some ideas & he ran with them, showing me examples of every flower & ribbon idea while I was there for my first meeting. He called to check-in with me the week of the wedding & the flowers were delivered on time the day of the event. They were beyond anything I had imagined in my head & when he said "You'll be thrilled" he wasn't kidding - The workmanship on the bouquets brought a tear to my eye, every petal was in perfect place & the colors were breathtaking. I would go back to this florist in a heartbeat, they were incredible. STRONGLY recommend!!!!

Initially I met with a few florists recommended by our venue, but Sylvia's beat them all by far. I consulted with Rich for my 10/08/11 wedding, and it was wonderful. I brought my "inspiration" pictures and he was off! He had awesome ideas. Some things I was unsure of on paper, but I trusted him completely.

In addition to bridal party flowers, Sylvia's provided a willow branch cake ring and black arch covered in willow branchs, lights, flowers and greenery. In our outdoor setting it looked AMAZING! Sylvia's prices were extremely reasonable, and Rich was very flexible and helped stay within my budget. The only minor blip we had was the flower girl baskets. The basket I was shown at consultation was not the same basket I received on my wedding day. The baskets were still cute, but not what I ordered.

When I saw the finished products, all the bouquets were amazing - especially mine! Everyone was asking who our florist was! I could not have been happier with how everything turned out!

I have been using Sylvias for my flowers since I was in high school and would need them for all of the school dances. They have always beenm very beautiful.

When I met with Rich for a consultation for our wedding, he was so genuine and caring i fell in love with him right away. For someone like me who has never thought of flowers for a wedding before and really had no concept of what I wanted, he was a dream. he had so many great ideas and was so helpful in keeping everything within our budget. He even called me the morning of the wedding and was so wonderful to work with. You would be crazy not to book them for your big day!

Rich, the floral designer, is extremely friendly, outgoing, passionate, and knowledgeable. He seems to love weddings and has an eye for knowing what will work without being a pushy sales person. He was considerate about our allergies to scents and to our budget. For example, he made us the perfect affordable throw bouquet and the shop went above and beyond when they prepared vases we provided when they received them a few weeks before the wedding, even going the extra mile by taking off the price stickers and filling them with marbles. We weren’t too picky about the specific flowers; we allowed Rich to choose flowers that had no scent, were reasonably priced, and matched our color scheme. They bouquets were beautiful! My bouquet was huge and required my husband’s help holding it during all of the photos. I did think that of all of the bouquets, my bouquet was the only one that had brown edges on some of the roses, but it didn’t show in pictures. I was probably the only one to notice. Our center pieces, three hydrangea each in their own vase, were as simple as can be and it worked out just perfectly. The hydrangea lasted for days as long as they were kept in water. At Rich’s suggestion because I didn’t want the men to wear pink or purple, the men received blue hyacinth boutonnieres. By the end of the night, none of their hyacinth were intact because the little blossoms fell off after hugging family and friends all night. Overall, Sylvia’s was a good choice because Rich is an artist and he’s willing to work with his customers to make them happy.

They did a great job. They had to make a fairly last minute change to the flowers, which wasn't a big deal at all. I thought all the centerpieces and bouquets turned out great. They were all very friendly and helpful in making decisions as I'm not exactly great with flowers/decorating.

Sylvia's Flowers has a lovely exterior, but falls flat on the all important element of customer service.

I was initially very excited to work with them creating my floral arrangements, but on my return trips was never met at the door, greeted properly, and my name was never remembered by the designer who initially spent time with me.

It was very frustrating, but I had already given the shop my initial deposit, and always try to hope for the best in any situation.

On the day of my wedding, the flowers arrived and were absolutely NOT what I had asked for, paid for or envisioned.
I literally broke down in tears when I saw what was delivered.

I felt as though all of my research into arrangements, colors, styles and sizes of bouquets was completely ignored, and I would hate for any other bride to feel this way as well.

We were recommended to Sylvia’s Flowers by several co-workers, and with good reason; we loved them! We worked closely with Rich and he was very knowledgeable about different types of flowers. I brought in several photos of flowers and bouquets that I liked and his vision turned out even more beautiful than I could have even imagined. He even personalized the ivory ribbon on my bouquet with a crystal embellishment to match my wedding dress. This company is so flexible. We had purchased our own vases, stones, and floating candles for the centerpieces and they were able to use our items and adjust the price because we were able to provide everything except the actual flowers. They were early dropping off the flowers and the staff is so organized and professional. We would absolutely use Sylvia’s Flowers in the future!

Beautiful flowers and arrangements!

Sylvia's Flowers surpassed ALL of my floral expectations!!! For the bouquets that I got, I would have expected to pay much, much more. All I told Cindy was that I wanted bright, fall-colored flowers, lots different textures, and a somewhat loose bouquet, and she delivered the most amazing bouquets I could have asked for. The ceremony/reception flowers, bouttenieres, etc. were all beautiful, too! Everyone kept asking about the groomsmen's bouttenieres -- they were amazing. And, she was really open to my requests for the pomanders and copper wire on the bouquets and bouttenieres. All in all, amazing!!!

MOTB perspective: I loved Sylvia's Flowers! We had a relatively low flower budget and I was concerned that the flowers might look "skimpy." No need to worry! Sylvia's prepared beautiful, colorful bouquets, boutonnieres, and arrangements. The consultant was open to my daughter's suggestions and came through with gorgeous, textured, colorful fall flowers. The deliveries were accomplished without a hitch even though the church had us on a pretty tight schedule. Again-super job, Sylvia's!

Rich was a mastermind! Not only did he have great ideas, but he was able to show them off as well! He gave us good rates and unbelievable centerpieces! Thanks so much!!!

We were very happy with Sylvia's. They really got to know us and what we would like as far as arrangements are concerned. Rich did a great job! It was so much more than we expected.

Sylvia's flowers did an amazing job! Beth was my consultant and she was always good a listening what we wanted and put everything together so nice. They arrived nice and fresh and looking great. The only reason why I gave a lower review for the value of cost is not because Sylvia's is any more expensive then the other local places..just cause its crazy how expensive flowers are...over 200 dollars for a bouquet of mostly roses, but thats the reality of it..

We used Sylvia's flowers in Arlington Heights for the florist for our August wedding. We were so lucky to have been paired up with Beth because she was fantastic. We went in several times with different ideas and price ranges and, due to the economy, had to keep lowering our budget. They were so understanding and flexible and kept coming up with different ways to save money. The flowers were simply stunning and unique. We would definitely recommend Sylvia's- especially if you work with Beth!

My wedding flowers were perfect! They were absolutely beautiful and exactly what I wanted.

Our flowers were BEAUTIFUL. Everything was incorporated so well, they really enhanced the wedding party and brought everyone together. Everything from my bouquet, the bridesmaids, the flower girl baskets, the centerpieces, everything was fantastic! They are also wonderful to work with. I worked primarily with Cindy and Judy, both were incredibly knowledgeable and knew how to express what I wanted, and made it even better!

Even though I was not able to talk with her directly due to living out of state, she knew exactly what I wanted and everything was perfect and gorgeous! The price was also reasonable and she never pushed things that we did not want.

Sylvia's did a wonderful job with the flowers and centerpieces. Judy and Jean were great to work with, helped suggest colors and flower types, and stayed within the budget we had set out. They followed up a few weeks before the wedding and verified the info and I added a cake topper without a problem. They were so easy to work with and the flowers and centerpieces were beautiful!
