Sylvia's came to the rescue for us. We were told 10 days before our wedding that the bakery we originally had to go with because they were part of a package deal for us could not do the flavor we wanted after they told us 9 months before that they could do it. Luckily one of our friends recommended Sylvia's Bakery and they were amazing. They turned a horrible experience with a bakery to an amazing experience with an even better bakery. The people that work there are friendly and have great customer service. The cake was amazing and we got so many compliments on the look and the taste. Sylvia's has forever customers in us. We cannot thank them enough or say enough great things about them

We would strongly recommend Sylvia's Bakery to any future bride/groom because not only were the staff so sweet and genuine, so was the cake!! We came in for a tasting and had so many sweets to sample, from some of the nicest people. We looked through books and ended up choosing a 3 tier square cake with ivory frosting, wrapped in green criss-crossed thin ribbon around the bottom portion of each layer. It looked so sharp!!! We chose a unique filling -- Bailey's Irish Cream -- in vanilla and chocolate cake (alternating layers) -- to go with our Irish wedding theme. We also received a sample cake (huge, seriously!) included in our price, which I surprised my fiancee with on our one-month-before-the-wedding date after dinner.
This is a smaller, family-owned shop with truly dedicated and genuine staff. We were referred by Taryn Wade of Bolingbrook Golf Club after TWO food-tastings, and were blown away by this cake tasting!

I am looking forward to eating my wedding cake in a few weeks. The cake we designed is GORGEOUS- 4 square tiers! They were wonderful with assisting in our designing but not forcing us into choosing a pre-made design. Price is affordable, and cake tasting was SOOO yummy!
