Tanis did an amazing job doing day of coordination for my wedding!!! she went way above and beyond to make sure everything went smooth the day of my wedding and many weeks leading up to the day!!!
Not only did she keep everything on track she keep me together right before I went down the aisle ....otherwise I might have fell apart!!
I recommend Tanis to any bride who wants to have an amazing wedding!!

There is so much that I can say about the services that Tanis provided my husband and me. I was a desperate bride that came to her with a 6 month engagement. Needless to say I was very stressed out and faced so much negativity from other wedding planners because my date was so close. Tanis took away all of my worry when she reassured me immediately that my problem was not a problem at all. In that small period of time, she pulled together a wedding that will be talked about for years to come. The ideas & creativity that she displayed on our wedding day was fit for a queen. Tanis is very professional and very easy to get along with. We will always have a special place for Tanis in our hearts as she made our day well worth the wait.

Tanis was wonderful to work with. When we first met, I wanted to hire her for her affordability, and type A personality, and as the months went on (especially the last month), I realized how important those things became. She was extremely professional, easy to work with, and has amazing organizational skills...which is exactly what you need to have for this type of event! I never received 1 phone call on my wedding day, everything was handled by Tanis, and it turned out beautifully. I would recommend her services to anyone who is looking for great quality at an affordable price, and a much less stressful wedding planning experience.

With little notice Tanis was able to seamlessly coordinate and arrange the wedding of our dreams. Having a beach wedding is a gamble and Tanis was ready for anything! We ran into an issue with high tide and not enough beach. Before I knew there was a problem, she secured an even better location and was able to get us a beautiful pergola and wooden benches for our guests. I couldn't have asked for more! What I am most thankful for is the stress she took off my Mom's shoulders so she could actually relax and enjoy our wedding. Thank you for helping make our day so special!!

I've had the pleasure to work with Tanis on several occasions and every event has been spectacular!!! She takes care of every detail of the event, fulfilling the bride's every dream. One event that I'll always remember is when an approaching hurricane threatened the Lowcountry, and there was the possibility that the bride's venue would be inaccessible if the hurricane continued on its current path. Not willing to take a chance on the bride's venue, Tanis opened up her own home to host the ceremony and reception. This is dedication; not just to her job, but to the bride and groom.
Tanis is a great wedding planner and very easy to work with.
This lady will keep you calm, and help you with all of the little details of the most important day of your life. She also has many different size packages for any budget.

Tanis J Events, LLC, located in beautiful historic Charleston, South Carolina, provides full service wedding planning. We also offer candy buffets that are unique and customized for each couple in any color, theme or stye you can think of. Clients are charged a separate labor charge and candy charge allowing them more control over the pricing as well as complete control over which candy is included.
Tanis J Events has a small decor and wedding supply division, allowing brides to rent items instead of having to purchase wedding items they may never use again. We have a selection of cake cutters/servers and stands, toasting flutes, card boxes, candle holders, lanterns, pew markers, crystal chandeliers, frames for menus/signage/table numbers, and directional signs for weddings (ceremony, reception, cocktails, restrooms and parking)
All of our rates are customized to suit your needs whether you are having a small beach wedding for 50 or a formal church wedding for 300. We base our quotes on the total amount of work rather than a percentage of your budget and this is determined by our client questionnaire which potential clients may complete and send to us or we can complete together. At Tanis J Events we are trained and experienced professionals who take planning very seriously. We balance the creative aspects with the practical applications of contract negotiation, budget control, and vendor selection to ensure the best event possible. We are meticulous with the details and strive to keep everyone organized and relaxed throughout the entire process.
Do you have any special training?
Ms. Tanis Jackson, the owner, is a designated bridal consultant and is a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC). She also has a certificate in Event Marketing, Fundraising and Public Relations. Ms. Jackson has over a decade of event experience.
Is it expensive to hire a planner from you?
Tanis J Events has extremely flexible pricing to accommodate any type of budget from our "$99 Getting Started Package" to the "Ultimate Package." Our unique pricing structure is not based on a percentage of your budget, but rather on the amount of work involved. We take into account the location, number of guests, how many people are required to work at the event, number of vendors and the total amount of set up. All pricing quotes are customized for the client.
How involved will you be?
Very simply, we are as involved as you want us to be. Either prior to or during our introductory consultation we will ask you to complete a questionnaire which involves, budget, guest count, venue and vendor selection, the wedding party, and creative aspects such as flowers, decor, and setup. From there you decide what level of involvement you want and which areas you would like us to focus on and we will determine if this will require the Ultimate Package, a Full Service Package, a day-of package or something in-between.
Does a wedding planner save us money?
If you book a Full Service Package or the Ultimate Package which includes venue and vendor selections, we can save you money if you follow our recommendations. Planners often will receive discounts from vendors and at Tanis J Events we pass these savings onto you. We are also informed of the pricing of various vendors as well as who offers seasonal discounts and day of week discounts. The day-of package is a stress saver rather than a money saver because it does not involve venue or vendor selection.
If we hire a planner will they 'take over' our wedding?
At Tanis J Events we don't want to recreate the same wedding over and over again and we don't want to plan a wedding the couple is not happy with no matter how lovely it is. It is extremely important to us that our clients feel that their wedding really is their vision. We are just there to help them get from the visualization to the actualization, on time, on budget and with as little stress as possible.
How do you handle wedding day or event emergencies?
We believe that preparation is key. All of our Day-of, Full Service, and Ultimate wedding packages include preparation of the aisle order, floorplans, timelines, vendor contact list, and wedding party contact list as well as site visits to the ceremony and reception venues in advance. We review all your contracts to ensure nothing has been overlooked and contact your vendors a week prior to let them know that they should contact us directly on your big day. This allows us to amend problems without having to contact you, leaving you free to enjoy every minute. Last but not least we bring an emergency kit with us that includes tools for minor repairs, beauty products for last minute fix ups, and even a garter belt should you forget yours.
