I was able to find blank note cards in my wedding color at Target. They happened to be on clearance so I purchased several packs of the cards. I was also able to find DIY ‘save the date’ embossing at Michael’s Arts and Crafts in the Martha Stewart section, they were also on clearance so I was able to make my own Save the Dates for about $.65 each. While Save the Dates are nice, it’s not really important to spend a lot of money on this part of the wedding budget, a simple note card will limited information will due.
Found the cutest flower girl dresses at Target for $15! Can't beat that!
We got "do-it-yourself" invitations from Target.com, printed by Garner Studios. We loved the antique pattern on the cardstock, and getting to design them ourselves! This option was more fun and far cheaper than going to a local printer.
I highly recommend Target. Not only for purchases for your wedding, but for the wedding registry. It's easy to pick out the items you wish for, and easy for the guests to either buy online or print at the store.
I bought my save-the-dates at target. I was only sending out a few so I didn't want to spend a lot of money on them.
My DIY Target brand invitations had vellum overlays which were supposed to be printable. They only printed on my old-school printer and you had to manually feed it which got quite tedious after the 99th one. Instructions were somewhat misleading. I wouldn’t recommend them for the amount of work that had to go into them and the extra supplies needed in the end. It would be better to have them done for you and avoid the stress.
I know this sounds crazy, but I was so amazed by the dresses offered on Target’s website. I got all four of my bridesmaid’s dress for $150 total. The great part is that they looked like they came from David’s Bridal. The ladies loved them and thought that they were gorgeous. My maid of honor is getting married in a month and I bought another dress from Target.com for her wedding. I even bought my rehearsal dinner dress for $10. You can find coupon codes for $5 off $50 and save even more. My bridesmaids didn’t have to stress about how to afford to be in my wedding. The color was perfect and went so well with the Tuxedo’s. I had one of my bridesmaids make a simple shawl to go with the dress. I received so many compliments on how wonderful everything looked. They also have bridal gowns as well. They are also highly reviewed. Target.com is defiantly for a bride on a budget who wants to also have a classy looking wedding.
We headed to Target for all our favor needs, which was more at the suggestion of my mother and bride of honor than what Renan and I wanted. They had seen some party favors at the Fair, and had decided that they could DIY for less by buying the stuff at Target. Target, like Wal-Mart or Michaels, has a whole section of wedding DIY stuff, like decals for the car and silk rose pedals and small champagne glasses that you can fill with chocolates. Everything was cute and fine, I just can’t get over how expensive this can be when it’s all totaled up. We even bought a plastic runner for me to walk on, but on the wedding day we used none of those things, just because we went with the natural beauty of the outdoors. There was the lake and the sunset, everything was beautiful on its on. The little champagne glasses filled with chocolates were cute on the tables, and I was grateful that my mother and cousins made them because I just couldn’t see myself doing that. If I really wanted little favors, I would have bought them pre-made rather than make them myself.
I learned early on that if you buy things that are specifically for weddings or are from a wedding vendor they’ll be more expensive just because they know you’re getting married! Where possible I’d buy the same items from a regular vendor. It saved me lots of money.
The last place you would think to look for a dress but they have nice dresses for a casual wedding. We purchased online, but the gowns were even prettier in person.
Why spend hundreds or thousands of dollars for invitations that your guests may not keep? Target has a good selection of do it yourself invitations and it was an easy process.
I thought it was hilarious when my bridesmaids said they found the perfect dresses at Target. We were wedding dress shopping almost a year before the date of my wedding date, which was also prom season. Target had an amazing collection of pretty prom dresses, and also some really lovely evening dresses. I thought the dresses were pretty, so we bought them as backup dresses. We also found the cutest flower girl dresses. We ended up using the Alexander McQueen dresses, which was the Target mark, as the dresses for the wedding. The bridesmaids looked beautiful, and they got lots of compliments on the dresses. Some people even thought that the Alexander McQueen was a really famous and expensive brand!
I told all our guests that we weren't interested in gifts, we would consider people taking the time off and making the trip up to the Wind Resort Beach club as the gift! Our mothers still encouraged us to register somewhere, especially for the guests that wanted to get us something for our new home together. We registered at Target, in their 'wedding club', and signed up for all the home appliances that we needed, wanted, or that ours were on the verge of dying. It worked out really well, because people could either go into the store or they could pick something from the registry online. We also got some Target gift cards, which are perfect for any new couple!
Each bridesmaids’ dress cost $50 ($49.99), which was perfect! The girlfriends who I had designated as bridesmaids had come shopping with me at Eva’s, and even though there were some dresses that were very inexpensive I couldn’t ask my bridesmaids to spend so much money on me. When grocery shopping at Target I noticed that they had really nice and trendy looking dresses. When I considered that my girlfriends would only need to wear the dress one night, I suggested that they just buy matching dresses from Target. They loved the idea! I think it helped that all of them were between a size 6-12, so they were able to find sizes that fit them well. One worry that we had was whether another guest would arrive in the same dress. We guessed that no one would think of buying their party dress from Target, and we were right! I even went recently and they have the cutest floor length dresses. I think it makes so much more sense to buy a dress that won’t break the bank. In the end, their hair and make-up cost more than the dress! Incredible.
All three of my wedding registries sync with the store and online so people can buy stuff in the store or online and you won’t end up with duplicates. Easy to use and comprehensive. They also give you bonuses (completion, coupons, rebates, etc).
We had a limited budget to work with, so when I saw our beautiful invitations at target one day (only went in for one item), I had to buy them right there on the spot! They were so beautiful and perfect!
I had a bit of a financial advantage walking into Target, mainly because I work for the company and get 10% off all my purchases. For this reason, I had spoken with Eva’s mom and told her that I wanted to help to decorate and cater for Eva’s wedding shower. I had in mind an Asian Theme, mainly because I confused wedding shower with baby shower, and thought that Eva was suppose to be sitting on the proverbial lily pad throughout the party. Regardless, we got these really great pink Chinese paper lanterns to hang from the ceiling, along with streamer and a sign that read “Bride to be”. We also picked up a great set of pink paper plates and wedding shower napkins. It was girly, but not tacky. The room looked great. I also got lots of Chinese appetizers, like spring rolls and sweet and sour chicken, along with lots of fresh fruits and a cheese platter. Eva’s mom and best friend picked out the bridal shower games and frilly invitation cards. We spent about $300 on the party, and I know that Eva loved it.
I got the invites at Target and had them printed at Staples. Both experiences were great. 50 invites all together cost $45.
Target has a great variety of favors!! You can buy things that dont cost very much and get a lot variety for your wedding.
Wonderful priced, wonderful materials...I really love the store, as always, but they have so much wedding accessories, amazing.
What doesn't Target have? We lucked out and found a wedding section on clearance in the dollar store area! So we ended up getting these cute ivory candles/candle holders 4 for a dollar....talk about a bargain! They were already wrapped and everything and all we had to do (we didn't have to but wanted to) was add tags to make them more personalized. We had to check at a few targets to get the amount we needed but it was awesome-definitely keep your eye on the bargain bins!!
I got the paper for my invitations at target. They have quite a selection of wedding related items. They even have wedding gowns online! I didn't get one because I really wanted to try it on but I would have bought it if they had them in the store.
The inviations turned out beautifully.
I got me a dress on Target.com. it was a very pretty dress and it was $130.
Highly recommended. I purchased tons of favors for my bridal party at Target. The prices were great and everyone loved the boxes I bought. They also had tons of items to put inside favors.
I wouldn't recommend this program for invitations. Target is a nice store, but it doesn't have what I needed.
Target had some fabulous options online! I really didn't expect that. Affordable dresses with great color options.
