I knew from the beginning that I wanted a “day of” planner for my wedding. Everyone told me that it was the best money they spent in the whole wedding. Boy were they right! Carina from Tealight Weddings was AWESOME! I interviewed several day of planners before talking to Carina but unlike the other planners, I immediately clicked with her. Her experience and professionalism was obvious as soon as we started chatting and in one conversation, my just budding ideas for my wedding started to become more concrete. We did a walk through at the site and she took notes and asked questions about things I almost certainly would have forgotten or never even thought to ask. Throughout the planning process Carina was always there when I needed advice. I emailed her probably about 10 times in 9 months about details and ideas I had and how things were coming along. She always answered promptly and in detail – SO reassuring when you get close to the wedding and are dodging meltdowns every other day. On the day of the wedding, Carina was there through it all, working with vendors and even lacing up my dress when no one knew how! I can say with complete happiness that if anything went wrong at my wedding, I had no idea about it and that is why I sing Carina’s praises.

Carina was/is ~7 months pregnant but that didn't stop or slow her down from running the show. We knew instantly that we wanted her to be our coordinator because she just had this "will get it done" kind of attitude. She doesn't try to kiss up to you and pretend to be your bestest friend, but we liked that about her bc she's totally efficient and on top of things. We met with her several times throughout the whole planning process. We hired her for her day-of services, but it's really more like she helps you a few weeks beforehand. If anything went wrong that night, I wouldn't have known it. If there were any crises, nobody told me, which I was thankful for. Carina is great because she really takes charge (but in a kind and professional way), keeps you calm when you are stressed, and helps the day go by smoothly. I am so glad we found her and that she was our DOC!

Carina is an absolute pleasure to work with! She made sure our wedding day ran very smoothly. We hired her as our day of coordinator and were very happy with her services. She helped us with a very detailed day of schedule that ensured we were running on time. Not only did we run on time, we were done with hair and makeup early and started the ceremony exactly when we thought! Anyone who has been to a wedding knows how rare that is! She is calm, patient and resourceful. She's so nice and not fake at all. We interviewed many day of coordinators and she was clearly the best. She has fair prices and you will be very happy if you hire her!

Carina was amazing! We hired her for day-of coordination, but she was extremely helpful in the weeks leading up to our wedding. She is professional, extremely organized, and a genuinely good person. I remember how wonderful it felt to meet with her when we had our final catering meeting with our venue. She knew exactly what questions to ask the venue to make sure everything went well. She has a wonderful, mellow personality and it's so easy to get along with her. The day of the wedding could not have gone more smoothly and it was amazing just to know she was there to make sure it was that way. I would recommend Tealight to everyone planning a wedding.

We adore Carina! She helped us pick our wedding venue and was our DOC. Through the whole process, she was incredibly warm, fun, patient, and understanding, yet also a total professional who is meticulous to a tee and will be your advocate each step of the way.In terms of the venue search: We may not have chosen our venue (Adamson House) without Carina's help. We knew right away it was perfect for us, but its very complicated set of rules and vendor requirements was intimidating. Carina did research on the venue and gave us adviceon what to watch out for, so we were 100% comfortable making the decision to book there. Afterwards, she also gave us a few bits of valuable advice and excellent vendor recommendations (many of which we used, with fantastic results).In terms of the day-of coordination: During the final weeks, Carina was always available to us and there was never a question that she didn't answer promptly and comprehensively. During our venuewalk-through, she asked questions we wouldn't have thought of and made sure our interests were 100% protected (including having our back when there were errors in our rentals inventory and even a change in catering managers the week before the wedding). She ran our 35-person ceremony rehearsal smoothly and on time so everyone knew exactly what they were doing. On the day of the wedding, she made sure everything went seamlessly. Our guests felt at ease around her and our wedding party knew she was on top of everything. Because of Carina, even though I'm very OCD and overly meticulous by nature, I was able to completely let go of the details on the wedding day and the groom and I had a total blast the entire time.

Carina was literally a life saver. I don't think our wedding would have gone nearly so well if we hadn't had her there. She was highly organized, available when needed, and superb at dealing with crisis. On the day of our wedding we had two major issues that Carina handled gracefully and professionally.1) Our officiant was ill and sent a less then stellar replacement. He messed up our ceremony and Carina seamlessly managed to incorporate neglected parts of our ceremony into the beginning of the reception which went off without a hitch and created a memorable moment.2) Our cake was in a car accident on the way to the reception, and while luckily no one was injured the cake failed to make it to the event intact. Carina, managed to help us get several small replacement cakes and have the florist decorate them to resemble a dessert bar, which turned out very nicely under the circumstances. If we hadn't had her, and myself or my family would have needed to deal with this cake issue I can guarantee it would not have turned out so well.Throughout the ceremony and reception, everything remained on schedule and other little bumps along the way were handled easily. Carina was easily the best investment we made for our wedding. She proved to be indispensable!

Carina was fantastic! I was a disorganized, stressed-out bride the week of my wedding, and she was just incredible. She swooped in and tied up the loose ends I'd missed, she got people organized, she made sure everything and everyone was where they needed to be when they needed to be there, and she handled last-minute changes calmly and decisively. She made sure I had everything I needed and handled communications with vendors throughout the wedding, and she didn't come to me with any questions unless it was something important. On top of everything, when my maid of honor told me five minutes before the reception that she couldn't give a toast, Carina coached one of my bridesmaids as a last-minute replacement! Thanks to Carina, I actually had a few minutes to relax and enjoy the wedding I had worked so hard to plan over the last year. Thank you so much for everything!!

I am really disappointed that my ratings for Carina turned out this way. After reading all of her reviews, interviewing other DOCs, and our initial meetings I had such high hopes and expectations for her as our DOC on our wedding day. Although all of our conversations leading up to our wedding day appeared to be okay, the actual wedding day is what mattered most and it was a disappointment.I did contact Carina after the wedding with a list of issues and concerns I had to give her the opportunity to explain any misunderstandings, but the fact of the matter is that several things went wrong when they should not have and her professionalism in the eyes of my friends and family that dealt with her was very poor (which I did not find out about until the next day). Some of our vendors and friends were calling me the day of even though we provided her as a POC and I was told that it did not sit well with Carina because others heard her complain (which should not have happened)...Although she was definitely a Point of Contact for all my vendors that day (which is what any DOC would be) here is a list of issues/concerns:1) On the day of the wedding, Carina's demeanor was angry, irritable, annoyed, and frustrated which several of our friends and family witnessed and questioned. Even if she felt overwhelmed, they should not have observed it. We were upset and embarrassed this is what our friends and family observed. 2) Carina's concerns during our last meeting (such as the need for an assistant) were not shared with me, so when several things went wrong she brought up her concerns at that time. Not to mention, it was not until a week before our wedding that we found out about her new physical limitations (we wish we had known this much earlier). If she had been honest and communicated with me, some of the issues could have been avoided. Instead she just acted like everything was fine. For example she did not tell me she felt the DIY were too much to handle, we went over in detail the DIY centerpieces and what needed to be done at our last meeting and everything seemed fine but instead they were very poorly put together/sloppy and the flower stems were even upside down (I contacted her about this and she indicated she was not a florist, but I believe it was common sense especially since she's coordinated weddings with similar centerpieces).3) We had very expensive and beautiful orchids for the centerpieces but we were never asked whether or not we would like to keep them (we assumed no one throws away orchids/centerpieces). The next morning we found out all of them were thrown away even though they would have lasted another week or so.4) We created labels for the dessert table and candy station, but they were not put up and afterwards I contacted her and she could not remember what was done with them. They were not properly placed in any of the pictures during the reception (so they did not fly away), but they did show up in a stack in one picture that was taken before any of the guests arrived.5) During the wedding, there were some details that were not executed or that I realized were missing and I later found out that instead of giving me the option to accomplish the details I spent over a year planning, Carina just decided that they were minor and they did not need to be brought to our attention (i.e., missing candy from our candy station).We honestly would have overlooked all the issues/problems with the details, but when we found out from our friends and family that Carina's demeanor on the day of was not at all favorable we were very upset. We had our bridesmaids and another family friend help her out, but they indicated she mainly insisted that she was "fine."Carina did try to explain that several of the things she took care of were not in the scope of her responsibilities (although her reviews indicate she did similar things for other clients), but again this was never communicated to me when we discussed the final details and the spreadsheet she gave me almost a year earlier was pretty vague. The words set-up, assemble, finishing were used as three separate definitions in her explanation after the fact, but they really have a slight variation so increased communication would have really helped.We suggested that going forward she should ask the couples if they want to be bothered about certain things (i.e., execution of details, throw away flowers) because we were never asked, to communicate any concerns especially if it may cause problems on the day of the wedding, and to increase communication before the week of. And of course however angry, frustrated, irritable, etc. she may feel that it should not affect her interactions with any of the wedding guests.She does respond quickly when you contact her. However, we were not completely happy with her service. All of her other reviews were really good, so that is why we were so surprised with all the issues...

Any couple who has Carina from Tealight Events as their coordinator has gained a priceless peace of mind. I naively had planned to coordinate my own wedding until my venue required that we hire a DOC. After reading rave reviews on Carina we scheduled a meeting. Five minutes into the conversation my fiance was sold – she was experienced and good natured with fair pricing for our modest budget. For the day of the wedding she was amazing to watch – she had confident command of the schedule without being overbearing and to my delight, my simi complicated centerpieces came off perfect in her care along with all the other details. The venue Catering Director, guests and wedding party alike had wonderful things to say about her as well. We can't image choosing anyone else, we can't wait for another excuse to work with her again!

My, then fiance, told me she found a wedding coordinator online and we would be meeting with her over the weekend. Sounded fair to me as I didn't have any high expectations. It's a wedding I thought, how hard could it be to plan a party with cake and flowers!?

Well when we met with Carina, she pretty much took us from start to finish of what to expect from her and the enemy – "family" LOL... All jokes aside, she gave us a realistic expectation of what to expect and assured us she would do everything in her power to make our wedding day go smoothly. Carina was professional and seemed to know her stuff. I was impressed!

Prior to meeting her I had no idea of all the things that went into making that day come together. I knew before our meeting was over that I had no interest in meeting with another coordinator. Carina was the one! I told my fiance, "I LIKE HER!" and if she was fine with it I felt no need to look any further.

Well 5 or 6 months later, we are at rehearsal and the wedding is just 3 days away. Carina walked the entire wedding party through the order of service and it was just flawless. Everyone liked Carina and we heard rave reviews of how she did a wonderful job. I knew she would do an awesome job but it means even more when your family and friends mention your coordinator after the wedding dust has cleared the air..

So Carina, thank you for helping our day be the "magical" day that it was! We love you!

We hired Carina as our day of coordinator and glad we did. I don't know how we could have done it without it. Planning a wedding is difficult enough but executing it? Nightmare. She was very calm which certainly helped this nervous bride.

48 hours later, my new wife and I are still glowing over our fantastic wedding event this past weekend. When we look back at the big day, one of the people who proved to be indispensable was our wedding day-of coordinator, Carina McLaughlin. From our very first meeting to the moment we turned out the lights at the wedding venue, Carina was there with us, guiding us through all the important steps. The combination of her charm and polished demeanor along with her deft handling of moving the event throughout the day was impeccable. Simply put, Carina is amazing, and I hope you all consider her for all she is worth.

Hiring Carina was the best decision we made. We loved planning our wedding, but as the big day got closer, we realized that we needed some help orchestrating all the little details. As soon as we met her, we knew that we wanted to work with her. It was really important to us to find someone that understood us and our vision. We clicked immediately! Carina was the key the making my wedding day run smoothly. She took charge, even put her foot down with my loud bridal party during the rehearsal, which I loved! She was so organized and gave me wonderful ideas. I was always able to vent my frustrations to her and she never made me feel like I was a bother. I gave her all of my decorations the night before the wedding. The day of she made my venue look more beautiful then I could have every imagined. Friendly, warm, professional, those are just a few of the words that describe this wonderful woman.

If there is one word to describe Carina at Tealight Weddings it is Extraordinary. I hired Carina for my wedding March 20th, 2010. From the start Carina made me feel like a friend not a client. She is so easy to talk to and truly listens to all your concerns. She knows every in and out of planning this big day so well that you can never feel like you are throwing her a curve ball, or being a pain in her side. I called her early on with a small melt down and right away she was able to calm me down. She assured me that my problems are nothing new and to that I’m not alone. I only hired her for the day of service but she walked into that day as if she had planned it herself. From the first meeting to the final detail on my wedding day I never felt worried. Carina is a strong individual who puts her foot down when necessary with vendors and bridal party alike. (trust me some times your bridal party will need it). I had planned the decoration, which Carina helped the florist set up just the way I had envisioned. She also took my extra decoration and used it in areas I had never thought of. She is what every girl needs on her wedding day!

From the beginning of this process I fancied myself a "do-it-yourselfer" and never thought I'd need a wedding planner. Then I heard of this amazing thing called a DOC! After some research, both here and on other sites, I decided to reach out to a few different coordinators and ask about their services. Carina from Tealight got back to me so quickly, and I had even met with her before some of the other coordinators even responded to my initial emails!

We decided to hire Carina right after our first meeting, and she's already helped so much! She's gone above and beyond what we hired her for and is always so quick to reply to any email or phone call. So far she's been a pleasure to work with and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a little extra help!

Carina is AMAZING and very easy to work with! She relieved so much of the stress of wedding planning by staying on top of all our vendors, the bridal party and everything! She made sure that everyone knew their part at the rehearsal and on the day of the wedding. Basically she did everything we needed and so much more thanks again. Hiring Carina was by far the smartest choice we made in our wedding planning. She was a total pro and was prepared for all of the craziness that comes with planning and coordinating a wedding. Even with her day of planning service she made the vision for our wedding come together. Guests at our wedding loved her and people were even asking us for her contact information to help plan their own weddings. I don't know how to put it in words how glad I am that I hired Carina for my wedding DOC!!! I believe that she is the reason I was so calm and relaxed on my actual wedding day and I just could not have picked a better person to put all my plans together at the end like she did.

I took on a huge project when I decided to plan our wedding myself, while working full time. I made all the invitations, menues, programs, etc...you name it, I tried to do it myself. I had a lot of fun until about a month before I started to panic because I couldn't see how it was going to all come together. But as soon as I started having my meetings with Carina I just felt so comfortable that she would get it taken care of. Carina is professional, calm, responsible, totally efficient and able to multi task but still be caring and make sure that my husband and I were happy and doing ok the whole night. I have absolutely no complaints about her and the whole reception and ceremony looked just how I'd pictured it in my head. She took extreem care to place the items I had put so much effort into making on display and did not forget one detail. She even came over and sat with me for a few minutes at the end of the night while I took a breather from dancing. Also at our meetings she was so easy to talk to and she always seemed to have infinite time for me despite the fact that she has many other clients to deal with all at the same time! She is just awesome.

I met with other coordinators but I clicked with Carina instantly and she was someone I could see being friends with and someone I would want to have at my wedding. I recommended her to a close family friend that is getting married in a couple weeks. Her wedding will be much larger than mine with a lot more going on but she has also been happy with Carina and I'm sure that Carina will pull it all together just as beautifully.

Carina was absolutely amazing. I kept hearing from family and friends how great she was and how much work she was doing throughout the entire reception. In the month leading up to the wedding, she helped me come up with a timeline (I had NO clue what I was doing!!), put up with all of my disorganization, and helped me feel comfortable that everything was going to go smoothly on the big day.

On the day of, I forgot my garter (luckily, it's the only thing I was aware of that went wrong) - Carina had it under control. She made me a garter out of rubber band and lace (my very own MacGyver) and no one knew the difference.

If I had to do it all over again, I would definitely hire Carina. She is very sweet, easy to talk to, and helpful. My husband and I couldn't have survived w/out her.

Carina, Carina, Carina the most amazing, efficient, calm, organized coordinator to work with! I don't know what I would've done without her. I hired Carina for the day of coordinator for my wedding this past Sunday. She was on top of everything and made the day go smoothly with out any hiccups. She is very professional, sweet, doesn't waste time, and gets things done! Something you definitely need in a coordinator during this hectic and crazy day/time! I loved that she valued the DETAILS ( ~n ladies we know we spent a lot of time and effort on those things for the day) and made sure it was presented and worked out perfectly the way I envisioned it all. Communication throughout the last month was very effective and efficient. There wasn't a moment where I felt that she was lagging in her response, left hanging or uncomfortable. Above it all, she really did go beyond even her service agreement and helped me out ALOT. I would definitely recommend her for D.O.C. She was awesome!

Carina has been nothing but SUPER NICE to us! Having her as our wedding coordinator made everything go smoothly. If we had any questions or asked for suggestions on vendors for the wedding, she was always willing to help. Weeks before the BIG DAY, she made sure everything was perfectly scheduled every second that day. She made a time-line for us and even made extra copies for whoever she thought needed one...BIG PLUS! Carina was very easy to work with! LOVE HER! Whoever is looking for a wedding planner...She is definitely the one! THANKS A BUNCH Carina! You ARE THE BEST!

I wholeheartedly recommend Carina as a day-of-coordinator. I knew I wanted to hire Carina as a day-of coordinator within a few mintues of speaking to her on the phone. I could tell that Carina was detail-oriented but not too much of a control freak (like coordinators I'd dealt with at friends' weddings), and I knew our personalities would mesh well. I was very worried about the day-of details because I had planned the entire wedding from the east coast, but Carina ensured that my big day ran smoothly. There is no way I would have been able to pull off my wedding without help from a coordinator, and Carina has got to be one of the best around!

Carina was our "day of" coordinator. Here's the short review: she was excellent and I HIGHLY recommend her. Now a little more detail: we had met with a couple other prospective coordinators, and it took us five minutes to realize we wanted to hire Carina. It was a mixture of feeling how she would be at the organization and her personality. We wanted someone we would want to have at our wedding. Suffice it to say we felt entirely taken care of, prepped, and left alone in the ways we needed to be left alone. I, who was holding most of the details for the wedding, was able to let go of all the details and entrust them to her. And she dealt with things gracefully and efficiently.

We are grateful for Carina's major contribution to what turned out to be a magical day.

I also just hired Carina for my May wedding. She's awesome! I was having trouble finding a reasonably priced ceremony and reception location in LA, and she had some GREAT suggestions. Based on one of her recommendations, I booked a beautiful and affordable site just a few days after our first meeting! YAY! She always responds promptly and is very organized and knowledgeable. She's really making this whole planning process seem a lot less overwhelming. I can tell from our conversations that she'll make the actual wedding day a snap for me. Can't wait for the big day! **UPDATE**
We just got back from our honeymoon and I wanted to give props to Carina for an AMAZING WEDDING! She handled everything brilliantly! I was able to pass everything off to her so that I didn't have to stress or think about any details on the day of the wedding. The day was an absolute breeze thanks to her and I've gotten feedback from everyone that worked with her confirming that. She took care of all my vendors, the bridal party, my guests, everything! I'm so glad I hired her! Definitely check her out! SHE IS SO WORTH IT!!!

She was absolutely professional and unflappable, even when my flowers were over an hour late and missing items - she made sure that everything was accounted for, and that the missing item was delivered to the church in time for the ceremony. She was there from early in the morning to the very end of the night, to see that everything ran smoothly...down to making sure that the Father of the Bride had a drink in his hand when he was bombarded by guests and well wishers during the cocktail hour. She truly went above and beyond, and perfectly executed all the months of planning leading up to the big day. I couldn't recommend her enough!

YOU SERIOUSLY HAVE TO HIRE CARINA. Even if you're a super duper event planning pro - you absolutely cannot be responsible for event flo the day of -- and beyond that -- even if you do events for a living, weddings are different. You need her expertise ... and her personality! We felt like we were with a friend from day one. She's super chill yet detailed (a rare combination.) I did EXTENSIVE research on day of coordinators, and all the rest were either: a fortune, super young and inexperienced, or chatty Kathys and too overbearing and opinionated, which is a nightmare. There's already too many cooks in the kitchen. Carina is perfect. The day went swimmingly and she's a great troubleshooter.

Carina is an efficient wedding planner who takes her job and its significance to heart. Not only did she keep things on schedule, but she sewed a button on that had come loose from the back of my couture dress. And, she did all of this while appearing to make it effortless. I highly recommend her.
