We hired Terry for our August wedding in Menlo Park and he was fabulous! He was very professional, showed up on time, and the quality of his photos are amazing. Terry truly captured all of the details of our wedding from start to finish and certainly didn't miss a thing. He's exceptionally creative and a very talented photographer. His wife is also amazing and is sure to answers emails promptly. You can't go wrong hiring Terry for your wedding!

Terry Way was a fantastic photographer for our wedding. From the moment we met him back in January we knew that he was the right guy for the job. On wedding day he showed up right on time & got to work. I'm not sure what I expected but he made everything so easy & feel so natural. He never tried to pose us & that pleased us very much because its so important that our photos show the true love & feeling of the day. Terry is very go with the flow & got things done quick. It was important to us to be able to enjoy our guests during our cocktail hour & Terry managed to get all our family photos done in a snap so that we could mingle & be apart of every aspect of our wedding. He was so friendly with everyone & he took so many great candid shots through out the night I know we're going to have so many great memories documented. We asked him to stay an extra hour & he was pleased to do so. Terry was a real pleasure to work with.

Question: When a professional photographer gets married, who takes the photos at his wedding?!? That was exactly the dilemma we faced when my fiancé (the photographer) and I decided to get married. Terry has a rare talent of being able to capture the most exquisite and heartfelt of moments. Not only do we have beautiful and meaningful photo of ourselves, but also of our family and friends. Our wedding pictures are absolutely stunning and we have received countless compliments from all who have seen them. Working with Terry and his wife Vallarie is an absolute pleasure. Both are incredibly friendly, professional and helpful. Their clients not only receive a terrific product, but also exceptional customer service along the way. Furthermore, Terry was a blast to be with the day of the wedding.

Terry did a great job for our wedding. He and his wife Vallarie are very responsive by email and were in constant contact before the wedding.

He did a fantastic job at our rehearsal dinner on the beach in Carmel the night before the wedding. He also did a good job with portraits before the actual ceremony, which we also did at the beach. He also did a good job capturing the wedding and reception.

Terry makes you feel at ease, as he becomes part of the wedding environment. He catches beautifull and unexpected candids, exceptional staaged portraits and fun little moments the bride or groom may not have seen. Going through his pics was quite an adventure as there was about a 1000 to choose from. You MUST be comforatble with whom you choose to photograph you as emotions are amplified on camera, and discomfort, unhappiness and tension will show in your pictures.

We loved the album Terry put together for us! No hassling with proofs and orders whatsoever. His photo journalistic style was just what we were looking for!

Terry was a pleasure to work with. We live in Chicago but got married in Carmel this past summer, and Terry and his wife, Vallarie, were so accommodating to our needs Terry was so easy going and fun that taking pictures was a total joy and not a chore at all. We heart Terry Way. After casting about for a wedding photog, we found the referral here (thanks Lily Z!) and looked at his website and gave him a call. We met with a few photogs but he was our first choice. We both loved his photojournalistic style, my fiance was impressed with the technical aspects (i.e. able to take shots with backlighting -- some photogs back away cuz it can be tricky) But most of all -- he's fun to hang out with! He listened to all our (my!) questions, he has good ideas and he's hilarious. He really set us at ease, and we know he'll get along well with all out extended family -- which means he'll get great shots of them, not a bunch of stiff looking portraits. All our interactions to date have been great. (friendly, yet professional, etc) We're looking forward to getting the photos from our wedding.

So much fun, found him through a friend. I don't know if we just hit it off with him or if he connects with all of his clients this way, but for our engagement photo session- he took us down this sunny spot near the cliffs at sunset and took probably 500 photos of us in what seemed like 20 minutes.

We were both worried about having our photos taken, haven't really looked at that as a highlight of our day. But it ended up being a great way to start out our wedding planning. We realized all the wedding stuff should be this fun!

Having Terry Way as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day.

We loved his photos on the website and figured that if our wedding pics came out even half as amazing as the ones we saw on the website, we would be in heaven! We never got to meet Terry until the day of the wedding since we were not local to the Northern California area, so we talked with him on the phone. Just talking with him, you get a sense of him being very excited and enthusiastic about what he does, yet at the same time you can sense how chill he really is. Dealing with him and his wife before and after the event was nothing but pleasureable. They are so easy to work with.

He showed up on the day of the wedding and he captured so many great moments. He was really easy-going and managed to get so many awesome pics of almost everyone who came to the wedding. We really loved that he managed to involve all of our guests throughout the entire event. Even a few of my guests came up to me that day and the day after to tell me how amazing they thought Terry was.... he gets into every situation and gets the picture taken then gets back and lets things happen. Terry managed to fit himself into every moment during the day without making it very well known that he was actually there.

If you want the type of photographer to get everyone to pose exactly a certain way and you want to spend all day taking photos, Terry is not your guy-- Terry watches the day and gets all the great moments saved in his unique and almost magical way. One thing we really loved was that we don't feel posed in our photos-- they really are a representation of us!

Terry Way is one of those guys you can easily see yourself hanging out at a bonfire, sharing beers and telling great surf stories. It's the laid back Santa Cruz in him, I guess.

So when we were looking for a photographer, we wanted someone who was unintrusive, friendly, willing to put up with our special brand of comedy, and someone who would work with our list of must-take pictures. We found Terry through a friend who got married and used him, and we kept his card for the day when we would get married.

Terry's office is in Santa Cruz, so you'll have to travel to see him, and you'll also have to pay him to come up to the Bay. No worries, it's all worth it because like Sakura Films, I also had my pictures ready within a month of my wedding: negatives, cd-roms, and all the photos as well. Well worth the money spent on pictures.

You can expect him to blend in with your guests, take great photojournalistic pics, and make your wedding day really a comfortable one. Just give him the list and you're good to go. Easy to work with too! :-) No more bridezilla with him.

Terry is awesome to work with and his images are gorgeous. He is so relaxed and able to capture moments when you didn't even realize he was around. He understands how to direct people and keep it fun when capturing the right photos. He is one of our favorite photographers and would highly recommend him!

Terry and Val are a blast to work with. Never a dull moment when entrusting your wedding day photography with Terry. He's so easy-going and all about capturing the FUN of the wedding day. He even brought his own surfboards to one of my weddings on the beach just to add to the decor.
