The Acanthus is the best wedding venue ever! The price great, the service great! The owners Angie and Jim really do a great job of planning ahead for everything; If i ever needed anything they were there for me from the very start. The day of the wedding everything went smooth as glass, they sure know what they are doing. If you want a beautiful wedding venue then the Acanthus us perfect for any bride!!

We loved having our wedding at The Acanthus! The gorgeous house, lake and pavilion made for the perfect setting. Jim and Angie were great as well. They really care about your big day and make you feel like family. They readily communicated with us and the vendors throughout the planning process and made sure we had everything we needed on the day of. Between them and the wedding director, I didn't have to do a thing on my wedding day!

The Acanthus as a ceremony and reception venue could not have been any more perfect than it was!! It was the absolute most PERFECT day and it was all thanks to Jim and Angie at the Acanthus. They were so helpful and made us feel like family. Thank you so much Jim and Angie. I highly recommend this venue to any couple for their wedding.

The Acanthus was the perfect venue for our wedding. Jim and Angie accomodated our every need. Other venues I looked at did not allow the bridal party to get ready onsite and the Acanthus did. They have the perfect set up for the bride and bridal party to get ready downstairs and the groom and groomsman upstairs without crossing paths. The Venue gives the perfect blend of nature and Southern Hospitality at its finest!

Jim and Angie went out of their way to make our wedding and reception perfect. They handled all the details beautifully and made the day stress free. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, and we loved that we could get married outside right by the lake. Everything was just as we had dreamed of and more. We can't thank them enough.

We seriously picked the most beautiful place to get married in South Carolina! Not only that, but God blessed us with amazing weather. Jim and Angie are so professional and really offer you that southern hospitality. They were great to work with!

We were married April 17, 2011 at The Acanthus. Our Wedding Day can be described in one word: beautiful! Because of Jimmy and Angie and their incredible venue, we had the wedding of our dreams. It was perfect! There is not one thing I would change about the entire day. Jimmy and Angie were organized, generous, and very helpful! We were treated like a Prince and Princess! I would definitely recommend this wedding venue to any Bride and Groom, because I wish everyone could have the Wedding Day experience we had!

My husband and I had our reception at the Acanthus on 6-26-10. Everything was amazing. The venue is beautiful, the owners and very helpful and took care of many things we would have never thought of. I recommend this venue to any bride.

The Acanthus is an amazing venue! The owners Jim and Angie reflect their wonderful hospitality and kindness through their home and every event held there. My husband and I held our wedding reception there on May 29, 2010, and the experience was amazing. Jim and Angie allowed our bridal party and us to come early and get ready in their beautiful rooms designated for the bride and groom. While we were away for our ceremony, Jim and Angie put together last minutes details and decorations for the reception in the pavilion. When we arrived to our reception, the decor was absolutely spectacular and beautiful! Jim, Angie, and the catering staff of Kathy & Co. did an amazing job of making our day perfect! The grounds of the Acanthus were absolutely wonderful and breathtaking, with the lake and lawn in the backdrop. Feedback from all of our guests have been wonderful, with many of them saying that the Acanthus was the most beautiful wedding venue they have ever been to. If you are looking for the perfect place to hold a wedding or reception, Jim and Angie at the Acanthus are perfect for the perfect day!

This is a gorgeous outdoor venue and the owners, Jim and Angie, make you feel at home from the very beginning. After visiting the Acanthus, we immediately knew that this was the place we wanted to have our wedding. Their home is the perfect place to get ready before your ceremony. The well manicured front and back lawns, including a covered pavilion, are great areas for both ceremony and reception. This is a relatively new home with a low county, plantation feel, situated on the shore of Lake Lyman. The property exudes Southern charm...we highly recommend it!

I would highly recommend The Acanthus to any bride. I was married there in May 2010, and had a fantastic experience. The owners, Jim and Angie Craig, are laid back, resourceful, helpful, and willing to do anything to make your day special. The wedding and reception was perfect, and all of the guests had a great time! If you go with The Acanthus, you wont be disappointed!

They had alot of information and was willing to step in and help when you needed them the most! I was SO happy they were into it just as much as I was!

This event venue is gorgeous, and the owners are very nice. The outdoor setting is beautiful, but it is ONLY an outdoor venue. The owners live in the house, and they do have some stringent rules. We signed a contract and were later told of some "new" rules which were in direct opposition to what we were told when we chose this venue. All in all, it worked out and we were happy, but read your contract carefully, and be sure to get ALL details in writing in case they change their mind later. Rental items such as tables, chairs, and basic linens were included, which added value.

The Acanthus on Lyman Lake, there is no other place like it, a one of a kind venue! This venue has it all!! I had my wedding at The Acanthus September 12, 2009. I had the ceremony, reception, and rehersal dinner there! Jim and Angie Craig, who own The Acanthus are WONDERFUL people to do business with. They are SO professional, and EASY to get a long with! We love Jim and Angie! They took care of my WHOLE wedding, and not ONE thing went wrong! I had a perfect, FUN, and happy wedding! Not many brides can say that their wedding went perfect. This wedding was my dream come true, all because of Jim and Angie! To ALL the brides and grooms in the Greenville upstate area, you need to consider this venue! Check it out- I promise you'll LOVE the venue!

The Acanthus is a beautiful venue. Jim & Angie Craig were extremely professional and both gave great attention to detail. They treated us, our families and our wedding party and even our guests like Kings and Queens the entire weekend of my wedding. The Southern Hospitality is "PRICELESS". I have a semi-handicapped Grandfather, and with the assistance of the Craig's family friend and their valet vehicle, he was able to sit on the front row of my ceremony and was then transported as all of my Grandparents and elderly guest to the Pavillion for the Reception. All of my guests called me after the wedding commenting on how beautiful it was, how nice the owners are, and how they greatly appreciated being transported to their vehicles as they were ready to leave. It added a nice touch to the wedding/reception overall. The online pictures are a great start if you are interested in possibly booking The Acanthus, but to receive a full dose of the Craig's Southern Hospitality, book an appointment and take a look at the place in person. IT'S TRULY AWESOME!

The owners of the venue are amazing and will work with you in any way possible! There is not a prettier place in upstate, SC to get married! It is absolutely gorgeous!! I would recommend this venue to anyone!

I had my bridal portrait taken at the Acanthus in May. The Craigs were very friendly and flexible. The property is very beautiful and is great for indoor and outdoor shots. I highly recommend this venue for portraits!

We went to the Acanthus for our engagement photo shoot. It was autumn, and the trees were beautiful. The house and the lake are gorgeous backdrops. The owners were very gracious, and we really enjoyed our time there. It would be a perfect spot for an intimate outdoor wedding... but we got married in February, so it wasn't really an option!!

This place is beautiful, Jim and Angie are amazing people, and would do anything to make sure your event is everything you dreamed it would be. The property is very well kept, they have access to anything and everything you need, I only have excellent things to say about Jim and Angie, they make you feel like family!
