The Astor is a gorgeous, old hotel and it made our reception absolutely beautiful. We were able to decorate the tables days in advance so we had nothing to worry about by the time our day came around. Without question it is a fabulous value for downtown Milwaukee. The food was also incredibly delicious!

We got married in the grand ballroom at The Astor and it was a beautiful, elegant location. The staff is wonderful. Rebecca was great as was our bartender TJ who we went back to the Astor and partied with after we left our reception. Also spent 2 nights in the hotel and plan on returning every year for our anniversary. For us, it was the perfect place for a wedding, wish we would have had our reception there also.

The Astor Hotel in Milwaukee is AMAZING for ceremonies and/or receptions. It looks like the Pfister, with ivory and gold trim and elegant chandeliers, but is much less expensive. I was married on a Sunday and saved SO much money. It was not only the most beautiful place in Milwaukee, but there were three rooms total I could use. It is a convenient location with ample parking for free and just minutes from the lake. The biggest upside were the windows. Most banquet halls are ugly with no outside light. The Astor has big beautiful windows and mirrors, making the sunlight hit every angle of the room.
I would recommend this location for anyone getting married in Milwaukee on a budget but still wants something amazing. The food was outstanding. All we got from our guests were compliments about the food and service. The Astor Hotel really outdid themselves and I was so thankful to have found them.

The Astor Hotel was a wonderful venue for the reception. The Grand Ballroom was gorgeous and all of the guests told me how beautiful the room was. The whole building fit well with our classic Milwaukee style wedding. Cecilia, our contact at the Astor, was great to work with. She was always available to answer our questions, and we had a lot of them. She made everything very easy for us, especially since we were also planning the wedding from a different state. She was able to work with us to make sure everything went off without a hitch.
The food choices were great as well. We were able to offer our guests two options for dinner, both of which were delicious. The wait staff was very attentive and were great to work with.
There was also plenty of room for all of the guests to stay at the hotel, which was very convenient since a majority of our guests were from out of town. It made for such a nice weekend to have all of our family and friends at the same place.
Overall, it was a wonderful location and they definitely made the reception the best part of the day!

The Astor Hotel is very charming from the outside, but I highly recommend checking out the rooms before you book for your wedding. The prices were great and parking was extremely inexpensive. But the rooms and very outdated and all of my guests made mention about the hotel looking like it is haunted because of the old décor. The staff was friendly and there was a continental breakfast included.
