Atrium at Treetops

From the moment I walked in and met with the staff at the Atrium at Treetops-I knew this was were we should host our wedding reception! it was a smart idea because my wedding reception was amazing! The floor plan, design, professional staff, and other services that were provided at the Atrium made my day so memorable; my husband and I will never forget it! Not to mention, the venue was so much more cost effective than other venues in this area. You'll definitely get so much more for your money!

I really want to say what a wonderful time my guest and myself had at the Atrium at Treetops for my 40th birthday party. The venue was beyond amazing and my guest raved at what a beautiful venue it was. I’m sure you will be receiving several inquiries from guest about future events.

Jessica Powell went above and beyond the call of duty. She was extremely pleasant and helpful in making sure every detail of my party was met. Even replying to emails during her time off and I know because of her dedication my party was a success.

I will definitely recommend the Atrium at Treeptops to anyone looking to have an event.

The Atrium is one of the best "hidden jewel" venues in the DC area in my opinion. It's not the largest space, but the unique features it offers like a naturally-lit atrium, glass elevator, and beautiful marble floor make it really shine.

Gary and Jessica, the site coordinators, accommodated our every request, and it showed during our wedding. Everything went wonderfully. All of the vendors they recommended for us (DJ, flowers, decor, CATERING) were fantastic!

People have been giving us TONS of compliments on the venue, asking us how we found this place. DH and I were VERY pleased with everything, from the moment we came to visit (and booked on the spot), to the customer service over the course of our engagement, to the actual event. My daughter, who is a wedding/event/conference planner had her wedding/reception scheduled at another prominent restaurant. For the first time in 30 years somehow they double booked. She called me distraught. I contacted Gary @ the Atrium at 7:30 in the morning the next day trying to figure out what we would do. Thankfully there was an opening and within one hour we were already booked at the Atrium at Treetops. This venue not only met her expectations but it also exceeded everything she wanted and dreamed of. Our event manager, Jessica provided EXCELLENT SERVICE. The staff was PHENOMENAL. Everyone in attendance was blown away at how beautiful the venue was. This was a first experience at the venue for all of them. The food was delicious. Amil with Showtime Events provided the lighting. First class service. They continuosly checked to make sure we were pleased with everything provided. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would definitely rate it as a TEN!!!!! We would definitely use the facility again.

My husband and I watched our dream come alive at the Atrium! It was the perfect setting for our wedding day.
The staff answered every question and concern without complaint. And even went as far as giving me their cell phone numbers just in case I had any questions and could not reach them in the office. All of them were understanding and helped us move smoothly through the process.

I was more than pleased by the professionalism and expertise of Gary and Jessica. Jessica was great! Her quick response and upbeat personality made planning a breeze. She was so receptive to the changes we made along the way. Jessica was such a joy to work with!

Our guests are still commenting about the venue. Many spoke of how wonderful the “hidden gem” was. Also, a few have inquired about using the venue for some of their future needs.

I choose The Atrium at Treetops for a surprise 60th birthday for my wife based on the quality of the events I have attended there in the past.

Since I have an extremely busy schedule I challenged the staff at Treetops to assist me in developing a cruise themed surprise birthday party that my wife would be proud of. Namely the ambience of the venue had to be classy, the food had to be good and plentiful and it had to be an event her friends, family and co-workers would talk about for days. The cruise theme to the Orient, Carribean and Hawaii met and exceeded all of my expectations. It was a resounding success. I am now considered the greatest husband in the world by all.

I want to again thank Mr. Murray, Events Director, with special kudos to his able assistant Jessica for her energy, enthusiasm, and creativity. I could not have pulled this off without you.

I just wanted to say my wedding turned out better than I could have imagined. My guests are still talking about it. Gary and Amil did such a great job! On April 23, 2011, my now husband and I had both our ceremony and reception at Atrium at the Treetops and the experience was absolutely wonderful. From first meeting Gary we knew that this was the place where we wanted to get married. Gary was extremely professional and throughout the planning process was always available. No matter what time of day I e-mailed him with questions regarding anything he would respond within a few hours. On the day of our wedding, there were a few minor hiccups (no fault of the Atrium) and Amil, another Atrium employee, came through and saved the day. Amil even stayed during the ceremony and reception to ensure that the day went smoothly.
Not only was the staff incredible, but the venue is absolutely beautiful. My guest are still raving about my glass elevator entrance. To any bride looking for a great venue, at a great price, with an incredible staff please choose the Atrium.

Wow - I notice that everyone gave the Atrium at the Treetops 5 Stars. There should be a place for 10 Stars. I was so satisfied from start to finsih. Working with the staff was truly enlightening and a blessing. My husband and I looked all over for months trying to find a place to host our wedding reception and would you believe how we found the Treetops..my husband googled "inexpensive elegant place for wedding reception" (no joke) and somehow, The Atrium at the Treetops came up. Where can you go to get all of your ceremony/reception needs all rolled up into one. Even though we had our ceremony at the church, The Treetops had us covered from start to finish. Thanks for a job well done, left with nothing but happy memories to share...

The staff and venue of the Atrium at Treetops were fantastic. They assisted in every way to make our wedding reception a memorable occasion. The flexibility of the staff, the advice and assistance at every turn is unmeasurable. This venue and their relationship with other vendors such as Eventions Event Planning Services, who provided decorating services for our wedding and Honesty Gourmet Catering, who provided catering services for our wedding, assisted in transforming our wedding into the dream experience that every bride wants for their wedding reception.

Wow! The Atrium was a beautiful, elegant venue and a true gem for any DC-area bride. Gary was wonderful to work with -- incredibly flexible and full of advice and suggestions. My husband and I got the Platinum Package (which we could afford on our graduate student budgets). Even though I was planning my wedding from 600 miles away, the whole day turned out perfectly. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the atmosphere, the food, the cake, the bartender, the DJ, our unique entrance on the glass elevator, and just how smoothly everything went. I visited many places in Maryland before choosing the Atrium, and my husband and I know friends who are kicking themselves in the pants because they literally paid twice as much for a wedding that was nowhere near as elegant or fun!

We just wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Atrium at Treetops. Our wedding was everything we dreamed of and more. Johann out did herself with creating our vision and my guest are still complimenting us on my event, facility and location, it was PERFECT. The elevator entrance and the sky lighted ceiling was a huge, huge hit. Amil, in Gary's absence was/is a true professional. From the rehearsal to the reception, he was right there to fulfill our requests and needs. Again, thank you and your staff for helping to create our DREAM COME TRUE!!!!!

I am writing to let other brides know that we had the most amazing night at the Treetops and the elevator was a smash. I always dreamed of an evening wedding with romance and it was true to form. Initially, the wedding started off rocky but I must tell you it ALL turned around because Treetops staff member, Mr. Mendez was there to save the day. I mean, I cannot put into words how grateful I was to Mr. Mendez. The staff from our initial meeting in Feb was professional and insightful. What I admire most about the staff is the willingness to assist the wedding party to ensure that everything goes well. I visited the facility at least 5 times prior to the wedding and each time you greeted me as though it was my first visit. Because we did most of the planning, Treetops stepped in and gave excellent advice on setup, timing and offered additional assistance. Overall, I would use the facility again for another event.

We would highly recommend The Treetops for any occasion. They did a fantastic job on our wedding day. Almost all of our 175 guests have either called or written telling us how beautiful our wedding day was and how elegant the reception was. The food was top notch and our guests thought so as well.

Many did not even know The that Treetops even existed until our wedding day. One of our guests said they were going to recommend it for their daughters wedding because it was such a nice and classy place with such good food .

It was such an emotional day for my fiancée and I. The entire staff at The Treetops Director G. Murray and our coordinator, Tynetta Ali, were right there for us. They were totally understanding of our situation and worked with as we prepared for our day in any areas that where necessary . It was truly the best day of our lives everything worked out perfectly. We were very fortunate and blessed to be able have our wedding at such a elegant and classy venue.

I found Treetops on TheKnot.com and I am truly thankful that I did. Treetops was the perfect space for my wedding reception of 150 guests. The atrium provided a beautiful space for our reception. The skylight provided beautiful lighting for our afternoon event and the beautiful plants and trees added to the decor. Since the space is already beautiful, we only needed to add a few special touches such as table runners of our wedding colors, two colorful banners that hung over the 2nd floor railing and beautiful floral centerpieces for the tables. The employees at Treetops are very helpful, responsive and flexible. They responded to all of my inquiries no matter how early or late I sent them via e-mail. They were also flexible in the payment of the space. We paid monthly up until the day of our wedding reception which greatly helped us manage our budget. Overall, my husband and I were extremely pleased with Treetops. The size, decor and staff served our 150 guests well! We are already thinking about the next party we can throw at Treetops! We would highly recommend the Atrium at Treetops!

When we first went to this venture it was pretty scary, but the people at the Treetop Atrium, really helped us through it , especially Gary Murray, we have been through so much, he is like part of my family and I will forever be grateful, for his time and services. His Venue is fabulous, the caterer's where excellent and myself and guest where very satisfied. All I can say at this point is WELL DONE TREETOP ATRIUM, see you in the near future

Atrium and the staff were awesome!! We are without a doubt, positively, impressed with atrium as a whole! Everything was gorgeous! I'm smiling ear from ear just thinking about it :-). Atrium gets an A+++ from us and all that attended the reception! The ladies that I worked with on the day of took very good care of us and our guest! They were on point the entire night! The venue and service was well worth the price! I will without a doubt recommend Atrium with the highest recommendation! All in all, The staff made our night one to remember!

Everyone loved the venue and so did my husband and I. It was very beautiful and the wait staff did an excellent job. As always since I've met her, Jessica was accommodating in every way and we really apreciated her positivity and enthusiasm throughout the entire process. She is definitely a great asset to the business! Nancy too, was right there making sure I was calm and that everything was going the way I wanted them to go. Just to pay dues where dues are deserved; Jessica was beyond what words could ever describe. The entire staff was awesome but Jessica is that something "special" that ALL companies and businesses that serve the public should have! She was extremely delightful.....very helpful in giving wedding tips and you can tell that she is in the business because this is what she absolutely loves to do; not because of revenue! All of my worries were subsided once I met her. She is a very likeable individual and the sincerity in her definitely reflects each and every time you see or hear from her. Kudos go out to Jessica Powell!

Treetops was lovely. The staff were very professional and very helpful. They made our day memorable for myself, the groom , and all my guests. There was ample space provided for my 150 guests. I first thought there wasnt going to be enough dance floor space for my guest count. BUT there was more than enough. Gary does a wonderful job with the floorplan and alllllllll the other details of the venue.
The food was superb!!!! Especially those loaded mashed potatoes!!

Absolutely loved Atrium at Treetops! Had a gorgeous wedding there on August 6, 2011 and everyone loved the venue. My husband and I are still hearing how great everyone enjoyed it and is wanting to plan future events there. The food was great. The staff was very cooperative, understanding, flexible, and just overall Awesome! Gary Murry (Director of Hospitality) and Jessica, were amazing in making our day very special. The glass elevator, which I came down in, made everyone cry! Loved everything about this place! Absolutely amazing!!! For future weddings or events, you have to consider Atrium at Treetops!

I loved the Atrium for our wedding venue. We had both our ceremony and reception here and it was absolutely wonderful. It was beautiful and things went very smoothly. It was also a fantastic deal for everything that was provided. And we didn't have to clean up anything other than what we brought with us and wanted to take back home.

We used the catering company provided with one of the package deals - I docked one star for quality of service because there were some minor catering issues the day of. I would suggest that you request to meet with the caterer before the day of if possible (we didn't) because I think it would help to iron out any minor details. The Atrium was able to correct these details in a very timely and appropriate manner and we really appreciated that! Don't let one minor issue deter you - our guests didn't even notice so it truly was a minor thing!

I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone and everyone I know.

The Atrium was great more than what I exspected. They were very professional, willing to work with you to make you happy, Willing to go above and beyond and they followed through with everything they offered and told us they would do. they were great I highly recommand them and you get much more for your money!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Atrium at Treetops on Saturday, Aug 13th (2011) and we had a GREAT overall experience. What really sold us on the Atrium is their great variety of wedding packages that includes almost everything at a great value! Gary and Jessica were also wonderful to work with...They were very open minded, flexible and easy to talk to and they were a tremdous help in making our day perfect. We really liked how they were willing to work with us in pick and choose the services and vendors that we did or did not want in our package to fit our tastes and our budget. We ended up getting the Platinum package which included the Venue, Caterer, Photographer, DJ and florist (however, we went with our own DJ and florist) and we added a few "Al Carte" items/services such as additional lighting, and Bartenders. With that said, I will now try to give you an objective review of our experience to help you with your decision in choosing the Atrium.

Venue:
Like I said above, the staff (Gary, Jessica, Amil) were all amazing to work with - they were super responsive, professional, easy to work with, and flexible. They were all there the day of the wedding to make sure everything ran smoothly and Jessica stayed all the way to the end!

Thing(s) to consider: As far as the venue itself, it was super beautiful (I highly recommend the option to include the floor to ceiling white drapes and lighting)....however, I'd just like to point a couple of things when your considering choosing the atrium: (1) The space - the venue accomodates upto 150 ppl (and we had approx 135), we didn't have a problem fitting everyone in, however I found that the seating of the dinner tables were a bit tight for my liking, it was tough for people to walk between some of the tables and it was actually impossible for me and my bride to walk to each table...I think the ideal # is probably around 100 (in my personal opinion), the Dance space wasn't a problem at all and (2) I'd also like to point out that this venue isn't ideal for pretty outdoor scenic wedding pictures like you'd get at a garden or at a mansion, this venue is located in the middle of a business district so there really isn't alot of places to take pictures outside. There are a couple of parks a few miles away - but if your wedding is on a tight schedule or if you have a big wedding party, it maybe be tough to cordinate the logistics of taking photos off site (during the cocktail hour).

Caterer (Delicious Gourmet) - EXCELLENT!! They caterred our cocktail hour, dinner and made the Wedding Cake. I'm asian and my bride is brazilian and she had some GREAT ideas in helping us choose/create/customize our menu with a asian/brazillian theme. Everything was top notch!!...and the cake looked simply beautiful. One thing I do want to mention though, the Atrium offered "food tasting" events (at a nominal cost), but we didn't find it very valuable in helping us choose our dishes for our wedding...the "food tasting" event is more like a Dinner that gave you 1 or 2 samples of what they offered. We actually made a seperate 1 on 1 food tasting appointment with the caterer (we sent her a list of foods that we were considering and she charged us the cost of the food, which was super reasonable). So unless you just wanted a very high level sampling of the caterer, I recommend skipping the Atrium Tasting event and booking a 1 on 1 tasting.

Photographer (Jeff Martin Photography) - Jeff is the photography vendor that comes with the Atrium wedding packages, the package that we got came with 4 or 5 hours of shooting, a 2nd shooter, a engagment photo shoot, and several photo albums. This package is an incredible value (with everything that you get)...we compared this package with other Wedding photographers and it was significantly cheaper then most. Jeff is good photographer and he produced clear high quality pictures...however, the only thing I'd say is - I thought our pictures lacked a creative quality to them (i.e. - like some of the wedding photos that you'd find in a wedding magazine) I only point this out because we had a few guests at our wedding that are photographers and they snapped a few pics with their SLR cameras (and those pictures turned out significantly more fun/creative/unique then Jeffs). Like I said, Jeff was good and he captured all the major moments and produced a good number of quality photos....but if you're looking someone with a artistic/fun/creative eye for photography you may want to consider someone else.

Another thing I would like to point out is the "engagement photoshoot" and what to expect - when we initially read the bullet point that our photography package came with an "engagement photoshoot"...we were expecting an elaborate photoshoot where he'd shoot us in different various places and creatively shooting us being cheezy and lovey dovey (you know what I mean)....but instead, it's really just a 15-20 minute short photo session to capture 1 shot of us for a (16x20) picture frame (as stated in the fine print of the contract). We did take several pictures in his studio apt and outside near the baltimore harbor, but he charged a fee for additional pics.

Bartender - They were good. One of the great things about the Atrium is that they don't have a liqour licience so you have to provide your own drinks. I would recommend that you get more then less...

Overall Rating: Great! We were very pleased and happy with our wedding experience at the Atrium with the staff and vendors - We had a few hiccups during our wedding, but nothing that our guests noticed or was at the fault of the atrium. I would highly recommend this venue if your looking for great value and service. Hope this helps!

I had the best experience with the Treetops from start to finish. I always felt as if I were the only client. I was planning for about a year and booked the Treetops about 10 months away from the date. Our wedding was beautiful! During the planning stages there were some changes and upgrades that took place within the company and they kept us abreast of all that was going on. I couldn't have ask for a more smooth and effortless process that made our day so amazing. Treetops is fresh, modern, and unique! I would recommend them to anyone.

To keep it simple the Atrium offers top notch professional service; not just on the day of your wedding but before and after. They work with couples on any budget and you will never hear a 'no" or "we can't " from the staff at the Atrium. Whether your a BRIDEZILLA or calm the staff is patient, courteous and they will make you feel like you are NUMBER 1, top priority. As far as the facility, you cannot beat it for the price. The skylight and glass elevator is breathtaking. I have literally had my guest say that my wedding was the best they have EVER attended. Needless to say the ATRIUM had a part in that compliment!!

Atrium Treetops was a great place for a wedding if you are looking for something different. You can really transform an office park into a beautiful event. It's one of the most affordable venues in the DMV and the folks are easy to work with. Ask for Gary when you call. People are still talking about our wedding.

The venue was absolutely beautiful. The tropical plants and skylights provided the elegance of an garden event without any of the worries about weather and insects. Our guests loved the elevator entrance- it was fun and made the event that much more unique. We took advantage of the wedding package the Atrium offered, and found it to be a great value. It eliminated the stress of finding individual vendors, and everyone we worked with were helpful and professional. The Atrium really made our wedding a dream event.

Amil, the director, was great! He responded to my emails very quickly and was very easy to work with because he made me feel like my wedding was about me and not about Tree Tops. Our wedding day was amazing and I am happy we ended up going with them. However, if I were to do things differently I would not have gone with any of their vendors because they are a headache to deal with.


CATERERS:
I had my wedding reception at Tree Tops Friday May 20, 2011 and it was great! Although I will have to say I have been through a lot with their vendors since March 2010 when I signed my contract. Since then they have had three different caterers that I had to find out about on my own. That was very frustrating because I did a tasting with the first caterer (she was very unorganized and her food was not that good) weeks later I found out they hired another caterer. After doing another tasting with this caterer and deciding on the food we wanted, I wrote Gary a email to ask a few questions since I couldn't get a hold of the caterer. That was when I was told by Gary that they are no longer working with that caterer and they hired a new company. At this point I was very frustrated because my wedding was right around the corner and I did not have time to sit and meet with another company since I had just had a baby and I had very little free. Luckily Gary told me I could stick with the same caterer since I didn't want to use the new one. I was a little worried about doing that because I wasn’t sure she would be committed since she no longer had a contract with Tree Tops but everything worked out and I am very happy I decided to stick with her.

Another thing about Tree Tops is they change their packages almost every month. It’s nice because they upgrade them but annoying because you have no idea that they are doing it unless you ask. When I started out with Tree Tops, I had a pretty basic package with just white and black linen because that was all they were offering. However, as time passed and they upgraded their packages and I was able to get beautiful chivari chairs chocolate linen, ivory cushions and ivory napkins.

LINEN:
I was not happy with the services provided by their linen company, Tri-State Rental because I felt like they were not professional. I sent Deicy pictures of exactly what I wanted the linen to look like and it took hard work to actually get what I wanted. When I went to Tri-State for the first time to see a sample, it was FAR from what I wanted! I tried meeting with Deicy several times after but she would not stay late even though she knew I got off work at 5pm and was coming from Rockville (they are located in Beltsville) One Friday evening I got off work an hour early just to go and meet with Deicy to see the cushions that were supposed to be made for my reception. I called her about 2 hours before I left just to get the address and she completely forgot all about me. She told me the cushions were not made because the guy who was supposed to make it called out sick and asked if I could come the following week. Well, the next week came and I was supposed to meet with her so once again I called a few hours before I left and she told me she may or may not be there because her son was getting married but someone else would be there to help me. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! When I got to Tri State I met with some guy who showed me the tables that looked exactly how I wanted them to look. Right before I left he told me they would have to use another type of fabric for the cushion because they could not find any more of the material that was on the sample cushion. I was highly annoyed because they knew for months that I wanted the ivory cushion, it was on the contract!!! I was also annoyed and confused as to why would you have me drive all the way here and you don't even have the fabric I am actually using on the cushion!! My sister who was with me was able to calm me down and told me it would be fine and that the other fabric still matched the napkins (because that was my biggest concern) so I decided to go with it. Days later I got a phone call from Deicy saying I would have to pay extra for the fabric because it was expensive material. I told her I was not paying extra because it wasn’t even what I asked for. I ended up not having to pay and after going back and forth with this company for months, my linen turned out perfectly for my wedding day!

DÉCOR:
I wouldn’t recommend going with their décor person !!!! She was very bad at responding to my emails at a reasonable time. I had been working with her for months trying to decide on the perfect linen and centerpieces for my wedding and she would not give me any advice! When she typed up a contract for me she added herself as my coordinator and charged me for it, I told her that I had already hired a coordinator and only needed her to help with linen and centerpieces. She told me that she would not be able to do my wedding because something else came up. Not the type of person you want to do business with!


All of the preparation for my wedding day was very frustrating but I have to say that I am very happy with how everything turned out at Tree Tops. Our wedding was BEAUTIFUL and I couldn’t of been happier with the day!!!

This venue was great. The staff was very helpful and accommodating, and tailored things to what we were looking for. The day-of staff were also very helpful. Great price as well. I loved the fact that they have preferred vendors for catering, flowers, music, etc. I would recommend the Atrium to brides looking for a good, well-priced venue.

My wedding was amazing! I went with Treetops because my husband loved the place. My only reservation was the recommendation of a caterer from them. Please make sure that you sample the food from their recommended vendors.

We started out super excited to find such a nice place with pratically everything included. Gary was awesome and had everything together. However the day of the wedding things didn't go as planned and while problems are expected to arise on our wedding day, we got more than a handful. This is in no means a bad review I just think a few things should be changed to make sure the same hiccups we had don't happen to another bride and groom. But bottom line we got married everybody had fun and my friend who caught the bouquet is now getting married and wants to use Atrium!

The venue is beautiful. Gary and Nancy were great to work with. Amil and I had a lot of issues with set up communications. After over a dozen emails and driving an hour to meet with him to set up a floor plan and talk with him specifically about it, I still had to go to Gary to get things sorted out. I only did the blank canvas package because of the financial aspect, and was going to buy my own tablecloths, but needed the table measurements. After asking Amil 3 times, with only an "I don't know" response, I had to go to Gary to get the measurements, even though Amil is specifically in charge of set up. Then the MORNING OF MY WEDDING Amil called me to ask about what tables I wanted!!!!!! My husband told him AGAIN which tables I wanted where, and when we got to the venue to set up, two tables were STILL WRONG!! Also, during my wedding ceremony and reception, the cleaning crew was vacuuming, cleaning and mopping where guests were located!!! After Nancy told me they would be finished before my wedding started at 6. They still weren't finished after my wedding was over at midnight. That was very unprofessional. And now I have to call them because my security deposit of $500 should have been returned to me yesterday, and wasn't. Bottom line, although the venue was absolutely perfect, the extra troubles I had to go through barely made it worth the cost.

Our staff from Occasional Cakes recently setup a wedding cake 9/30/11 and had a very good experience with Jessica Powell the Special Events coordinator with assisting us with the location of the cake. I'm sure she gives the clients the same courteous treatment. I would recommend this location for a reception or any special event.

As a caterer working with the Atrium at Treetops it was a charm. The setup was creatively and elegantly designed. The event manager, Amil Mendez, was professional, courteous and on top of everything. I wish I had one like him at every venue. The Atrium is truly a unique venue offering venue services unparalled in the metro DC area.

I really enjoy decorating The Atrium! It is a unique venue with fabulous high ceilings and a skylight that provides beautiful natural light for your event. Where else can the bride get a grand entrance down a glass elevator! It's a great location to be able to add your own unique touches to transform the space for your wedding. And to top it off Gary is great to work with!
