Bekah and Jen were absolutely amazing. The food was unreal. I have been married for 3 weeks and my guests keep telling me how great the food was. The Balcony staff worked hard the entire night to make sure my guests were happy. Absolutely recommend to every bride in Wilmington, NC. Beautiful, beautiful space, great bartenders, and incredible food. Wait, I already said that! Thanks for everything Balcony.

The Balcony on Dock exceeded all of my expectations. Working with Jenn was my favorite part of the wedding planning process. She is organized, professional, accommodating and worked so hard to make our day perfect! The space is beautiful on it's own as well as a perfect pallet to add your individual touch. Our guests raved about the food and excellent service. I highly recommend!

I have nothing but rave reviews for the Balcony on Dock, especially Jenn, who was a wedding savior. We had a small wedding (35 people) and I was worried about the space seeming too large, but Jenn was able to make the space feel comfortable and cozy without a problem. Every question that my husband I had during the planning process was answered right away from start to finish, they were flexible with us on menu planning (we had a few vegitarians to accomodate), and on the day of it was like we had hired personal wedding coordinators with the way everything was handled for us (working with other vendors, set-up, rehearsals, etc). We planned the wedding entirely from out of town and Jenn was able to help me with other vendors (including prodding some that hadn't been responsive) and even helped put us in contact with other locations nearby that could accomodate an after party-she even helped me figure out how to get our wedding license-seriously above and beyond service. I only had to explain once to Jenn how I wanted everything set up, and it was done perfectly. The food and service were all great, and our guests had nothing but wonderful things to say about everything. If you are planning a wedding or event in Wilmington, do yourself a favor and book the Balcony on Dock as soon as possible!

My husband and I looked everywhere for the perfect venue for our cocktail hour and reception. All of the other places we went to did not have the charm and welcoming feeling that we were looking for. Until we stopped at the Balcony for an open house it turned out to be the perfect place that we were looking for.

Jenn and Bekah were very friendly and professional from beginning to end. There skills and attention in the entire process was wonderful. Communication was great and they always offered to help where ever needed. The day before the wedding Jenn was helping me find sparklers, she knew how important it was for us for our exit, this shows you how dedicated they are to making there clients wishes come true. They take pride in helping and ensuring a fabulous event all around. Jenn always kept a pleasant attitude even with last minute changes. She was a pleasure to work with. The day of the wedding she took care of everything and made sure that everything ran smoothly, I did not have to worry about a thing, which made our day even more memorable!!!!


The food was amazing, the staff was friendly. The entire evening felt like a dream out of a fairytale story. My guest cannot stop talking about the wedding. They were wowed by the Balcony’s elegant appeal and the view of Downtown Wilmington, which was spectacular.

We got exactly what we wanted and more. The balcony is a great and unique venue that really set the stage for a wonderful night and memories that we will hold on to forever!!!!

I cannot say enough how wonderful Jenn is, I am so grateful for all her help in making my wedding a calm, organized and wonderful experience, thank you Jenn for all your hard work and dedication.

We held our wedding reception at the Balcony and we must say that we could not be happier that we chose them. Jenn was with us every step of the way, helping us with final preparations and quickly responding to phone calls or emails. She was also there for the entire reception, making sure things went smoothly. We couldnt have done it without her! The space itself is breathtaking. Our guests loved the exposed brick walls and the view. The food was also delicious!! They have a huge selection to choose from. We highly recommend the Balcony on Dock!!!!

We used the Balcony for our reception site at our November wedding. The one word that keeps coming to mind is magical! Everything was perfect. The space is full of charm and character, unmatched by any of the other venues we viewed. We had around 120 guests and used the courtyard for a cocktail hour. The space was so warm and inviting and we got so many compliments from our guests. The food was some of the best I have ever tasted and Bekah and Jenn made menu planning so easy and stress free! The hardest part was picking what to serve from all of the fabulous options! I would highly recommend the Balcony for any event, especially a wedding and especially if you want your day to be magical!

I do not even know where to start; words cannot express how much we appreciate EVERYTHING Bekah, Jenn and the rest of the Balcony staff did for us. I fell in love with the Balcony from the beginning: the exposed brick walls, the gorgeous chandeliers, the large windows that allow an amazing view of downtown Wilmington and the Cape Fear, the cute balconies you can actually step out on and the courtyard below that provided a place for guests to enjoy cocktail hour while the space was flipped from ceremony to reception. The fact that the Balcony offers in house catering allowed us to focus on the many other details. But it is just not the convenience of that service that sold us, the food was AMAZING! Chef Woo exceeded our expectations! I can't stop thinking about the beef tenderloin and the mashed sweet potatoes. Our guests cannot stop talking about the firecracker shrimp and redneck eggrolls. But what, or rather who, made a lasting impression and helped make our wedding unforgettable and perfect was Bekah! She put me at ease with an quick answer or resolution to every question or concern I had. She went above and beyond to make sure our big day went smoothly and without any worry. I seriously cannot thank her enough for all that she did!!!

The Balcony on Dock was a great venue for our wedding reception. Bekah and Jenn were wonderful to work with. One of the aspects that made working with them so easy is their relationship with other vendors in the area - supply rentals, DJ, florist, etc. Almost everyone had worked with the Balcony so often that everything was coordinated for me. The room and courtyard were set up beautifully and our evening went so smoothly! Also, the food was delicious and everybody enjoyed it. They have so many menu options and are also willing to work with any special requests you make. Having our reception at the Balcony was definitely one of the best decisions we made!

The Balcony on Dock provides the most unique and incredible venue in all of downtown Wilmington. Bekah Smith went above and beyond in catering to our needs. From the menu selection, to creating a signature wedding drink for our reception, everything felt like it had a personal touch. She even provided an exquisite environment for cocktail hour for our guests to evade the inclement weather outside! The food is outstanding- from appetizers to stations, four months later our guests are still raving about all of the delicious choices! Our party went off without a hitch, everything was absolutely perfect thanks to the wonderful staff.

Jill is the most exceptional event planner one could ever hope to work with! She and Leah are on the ball and execute every last detail to complete perfection! We had our reception there and it was like a fairy tale! The exposed brick walls, wooden floors and old chandeliers made for the perfect backdrop for the evening! Not only were my husband and I ecstatic, everyone else loved it, too! We happened to get married on the Saturday of Riverfest - so the fireworks were amazing and visible from the windows upstairs. The food was excellent, the service was above par and as they say "location, location, location" - it was all perfect!! If you're looking for someone who knows what they're doing and will focus on you and your needs, look no further than Jill at The Balcony. We loved it!!!!!

Bekah and Jenn were phenomenal to work with and very accommodating!! Everything was about what the bride wanted!! They were very flexible with designing an event according to budget & with all the decor we added!! I could not have asked for a better venue!! The only thing I wished I could have done was freeze time to enjoy it longer - because time FLEW by!

The Balcony on Dock: My ceremony site got rained out so we had to resort to Plan B. Although we were super bummed about that, Bekah and Jen at The Balcony made sure that our Plan B ceremony in their venue was beautiful and intimate! Although it was far from how we planned it, it was still perfect! The reception was great as well, food was delicious and the site was beautiful. Bekah and Jen and the rest of the staff at The Balcony are amazing! Definitely recommend!

The Balcony on Dock staff were an absolute joy to work with on the planning of our daughter's wedding. We met with them regularly prior to the wedding and exchanged e-mails in between meetings. They were very helpful in helping us determine milestone dates and with all aspects of reception planning. It was easy to select the menu items for the reception. We were provided with a variety of room lay-outs to consider and they helped us reach a final decision on our preferred set-up plan. They helped with the finest of details in the months leading up to the reception. They even helped us create a timeline for the reception. I would not change anything if I had it to do again. The venue, food, and service were exceptional. I give the Balcony on Dock and its staff the highest recommendation possible and would work with them again if the opportunity exists in the future. They helped to make our daughter's wedding day truly magnificent.

We loved this facility for our daughter's reception and Jenn and Bekah were very helpful to us both in the planning stages and the day of the reception. The place looked beautiful and we received many compliments on the food. We were told it was the best reception food they ever had. All the details were taken care of for us.

Balcony on Dock was an incredible venue for our wedding and reception, I would definitely recommend this space for weddings and other events. It was an absolutely beautiful space with naturally appealing features. The space allows for a wide range of set up and decorating options. The event coordinators were a pleasure to work with. They were extremely flexible and responsive in working with us to accommodate our original and probably sometimes hard to deal with needs.

We had our reception only at the balcony on dock, 3rd floor and courtyard. The space is rented as an empty rooms, no linens, tables/chairs are included in the price. I was slightly dissapointed with this at first, however, now looking back, I realized that this was not that bad. The rental price of the facililty was really low, and having to rent your own linens allows you to really choose what you want for the room. The professionalism at the balcony is 100% above and beyond. They will take care of everything for you, all you have to do is let them know what you want. For instance, we wanted to use the courtyard for the cock tail hour, however it was really hot the day of our wedding. We instructed Jill, the event coordinator, that if the weather was nice we wanted cocktails outside, if it was too hot, they would be inside. The day of the wedding she moved our cocktails inside for us, it was nice not to have to worry about calling her to let her know what we wanted. The staff has weddings almost every weekend, so they know what to expect and work with any and all issues. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone getting married. Excellent catering, excellent atmosphere, excellent staff.

I planned my wedding in eight weeks from 400 miles away and the staff (Jenn in particular) at The Balcony on Dock Street made it the most enjoyable experience. They were accomodating to our small, intimate gathering and didn't make us forfeit any of the grandeur. The space was exceptional and came together wonderfully. Jenn also recommend all the other vendors that we used and I would never change a single thing. Working with Jenn and The Balcony was hands down the best decision we made for our wedding.
