The Barclay

Sue at the Barclay makes the whole process so easy and stess free!! All of our guests loved the ambiance, food and the service staff. Steve the bartender is now famous amongst our friends. The room was beautiful and attention was paid to every detail of our night. I am so happy we choose The Barclay!

The Barclay was the most wonderful place for my wedding reception! First of all, the location cannot be beat. The beach is right on the block and it is directly across from a lake with a gazebo, flowers, benches, etc.... All your photos can be taken right there! Our wedding reception was at the Barclay in August 2010 and we cannot say enough about how fabulous everything was. Sue was so flexible and helpful... for the entire year leading up to my wedding, she made me feel like the only bride that she was dealing with. She was easy to get in touch with, and did not mind that I went on 4 tours of the facility, in order to show my husband, MOHs, parents, and in-laws! When we were concerned about not being able to taste the food that would go on the buffet, she offered a personal taste test for us. By the way... the 'Cocktail Reception' was amazing... people could not believe how much food there was, and how good the food was! The Barclay has a great second floor where myself and my bridesmaids got ready. My photographer was extremely impressed with how perfect the lighting was to take the pre-pictures. Sue even brought us crackers/cheese, and fruit platters while we were waiting for the ceremony.

I was blown away by how beautiful the reception was. The Barclay is very unique in that it almost has a 'victorian' feel to it. It is the opposite of the new, modern places, but my guests loved the charm and elegance that brought! The bar area is huge, so there is room for people to hang out there without getting in the way of each other or of the dancing. The way that the seating plans work, there are no 'bad' tables. Sue and her team set up our decorations beautifully... it was perfect. I cannot wait to get pictures back to see what it looked like from the guests perspective when they walked in.

The entire staff was extremely flexible when my father decided to extend the wedding for an hour. Sue helped me to make arrangements with the shuttle service, etc.

The Barclay was nothing but wonderful to my family and I. They respected our budget and helped us pull off a beautiful reception, without breaking our bank accounts! Sue and Courtney really worked hard the day of the wedding to make sure that we, and our guests, were taken care of. Even when there was a mix up with the seating, everything was handled quickly, without anyone even noticing. Thanks Barclay for a beautiful event!
