The Barnacle Historic State Park

We had a lot of out of town guests and even a lot of guests staying in Coconut Grove since they were from Broward and Palm Beach. We wanted to include everyone in our rehearsal dinner, but needed it to be affordable. We found the Barnacle State Park, which is a historic home on the bay with a great lawn area and pavillion. The Barnacle is in walking distance from just about every hotel in the Grove. We did a day time rental which was under $200! We brough in sandwhiches and other picnic type food and drinks for the 50 guests we had. We also brought picnic blankets so guests could sit on the lawn overlooking the bay rather then just under the pavillion. The whole event cost about $600. They also do evening rentals, which is more expensive, but for us an afternoon welcome party was perfect, especially having it on a Saturday since our wedding was on a Sunday.
