The Bride's Room
Some friends referred me to this store and although I'm down in the city I wanted to drive out to Wheeling to check it out. It was incredible...I loved the individualized attention, both in my gown shopping experience and then upstairs with my bridesmaids while looking for their dresses. I didn't think customer service like this existed anymore - they were so good at helping me determine what I wanted in some custom alterations and then so helpful with determining what to do about a possibly pregnant bridesmaid I may have. They rocked!
This is the only place I went to. They were having a moving sale so I got my Pronovias dress for just $500. They were very kind and accommodating. I just wished they had their own seamstress on site. My dress looked great for my wedding!
I bought my dress from The Bride's Room in August. Yes when you walk in they are all smiles and great customer service to help you find the dress of your dreams. But once they swipe your card they don't care about you. I also bought a veil from there off the rack which they were giving me at a discount rather than buying a brand new one. A word to the wise, CHECK EVERY INCH OF ANYTHING YOU BUY! Better yet, don't buy from here because you can find it cheaper!
When I got the veil home to my horror I found a rip. They told me it was in perfect condition and I believed them. And of course I'm kicking myself for not checking it all over but I was so excited about finding my dress I just wasn't thinking clearly. I tried to return the veil and even offered to pay the difference of a new veil from the sample, and they refused and told me it was my fault. When I told them I didn't want to have to charge back my card the owner laughed at me and said, "you won't win." She then said she would try to order a new one but the company they got their veils from they had closed their account with, but would if they could.
My dress I also bought has a snag in it which we did not see in the store. Also they say you are getting such a great deal on sample dresses, but I found my dress BRAND NEW online for less! My girlfriend also found a dress there but bought it from another salon for less!
And my veil, I had to replace it and got it for $130 less at House of Brides.
Bottom line, this place is a rip off and they have no hearts. All I wanted to have was this great experience with getting my gown and now I am sick to my stomach when I think about it.
The Bride's Room was the second place I tried on dresses. My sister and neighbor had both had success there and I was very hopeful. I liked that they only took one appointment at a time to devote their full attention and space to you and did not try to upsell you out of your budget. I narrowed it down to one dress that I really liked but couldn't commit for some reason. I planned to return another day or look elsewhere. I then heard from another neighbor that the Bride's Room was moving and having a cash and carry sale with all remaining inventory priced at $500 (a good price for their dresses' quality, design, and details). The only negative in my mind was this business not following up with brides who did not walk away with a dress to let them know about the sale. In any case, luckily I found out about it and got an appointment while there was still a large selection left. I narrowed it down to two dresses (my first favorite had already been purchased), and when I couldn't decide, they let me bring both dresses to a room upstairs to take my time making a decision. Ultimately the dress I chose was perfect for me. It fit my body shape well and it was the right amount of detail to feel special, elegant, and beautiful without it being overdone and taking the spotlight away from me. I consider the dress and price to be just right and couldn't have been happier with the Bride's Room's service or selection.
My friend sent me an email from theknot about this place. They were having a sample sale; $500 cash and carry. I figured I'd go and check it out. I wasn't expecting to buy my dress...well, I did! It was exactly what I had in mind. One of the owners was helping me and she KNEW exactly what I was looking for. She had me try on a bunch of dresses first to see how I felt, but she knew I would LOVE the last one. They are very sweet there and so helpful. I'd highly recommend!
THE BRIDE'S ROOM is "practically perfect" * sorry for the reference but I just saw Mary Poppins. I had a great experience. Easy parking; friendly service; terrific selection and the personal service/attention without a "hard sell" was refreshing. I bought a stunning gown and have been back w/my bridal attendants for their gowns.
I had a wonderful experience with The Bride's Room. They were my third (and last) stop on my quest for the dress. The ladies helping were extremely nice and professional. The shop is so cute, and best of all the prices are great! I bought a dress for under $1000.
This place was unbelievable! Five weeks before my wedding, I walked into this place because I decided I might want a "real" wedding gown (I was going to wear a simple white evening dress.)
An hour later I walked out with "the dress". Only, it was about 10 sizes too big! (I had to buy the sample size because it was only 5 weeks before my wedding!) I was pretty nervous about the situation but the owner of the store assured me she would help me find someone who could do the alterations or she would take the dress back.
I was in such a hurry, that I called the store again for the tailor recommendation a few hours later, and a sales girl gave me the name of a tailor downtown that would do it. I will not mention the name of this place because I feel too bad, but long story short they obviously were used to a certain clientele that could afford $$$$ for tailoring, and after they had pinned the entire dress, they gave me an unbelievably high price! Shocked, I figured that I had no other choice, and left my dress with the gouging tailor shop.
Well, when I called the Bride's Room, the owner was aghast! She told me she would handle the entire matter herself. She personally drove downtown, picked up the dress, got my money back from this tailor, and brought it to the tailor I ended up using, for 1/2 the price.
Now that's customer service! Oh, and my dress was unbelievably beautiful, couldn't have turned out better!
The Brides Room was great! I looked for dresses downtown and they were all so expensive and just weren't what I was picturing in my mind. At the Brides Room they only see one bride at a time so you have their undivided attention. I described the dress I was looking for and what my budget was (pretty low for a typical wedding dress, they told me downtown there was nothing they had at my budget) and they brought out about 5-10 dresses that were exactly what I was picturing and that were UNDER my budget. I also purchased my veil and my bridesmaids dresses from them as well. I have nothing but great things to say about them from start to finish!
Overall, I had a very mixed experience at The Bride's Room. I tried on about 12 dresses and loved 3. She helped me narrow it down and when I tried "the one" on for a second time, I knew it was "the one". Then, she told me it was on sale!!! They made me feel like I was the only person in the world getting married and they let us take pictures too. However, she said I would have to make another appointment to try on veils, which I thought was very weird because I easily would have bought a veil that day. Also, they do not do in house alterations and the four recommended vendors for alterations were not close at all. I didn't find this out until I picked-up the dress, which came in 3 weeks late. They blamed the designer for the delay, which could be true, but a heads-up call would have been nice. Instead, I had to keep calling. When we paid the balance in cash, the girl did not know how to give us a receipt. In summary, my shopping experience was great, but after the purchase they made me feel like I was just another number. I would recommend the Bride's Room for a good price on a great dress, but don't expect much in terms of service after you walk out the door.
I only dealt with The Bride’s Room over the phone and online. I had chosen my bridesmaids dress and color but was disappointed by the service at David’s and refused to buy there. I contacted the store and was able to set up an account. My BMs all submitted their measurements and sizes and the dresses were shipped to them (3 weeks early!). My phone calls or emails were promptly answered—great customer service.
I was pressured into buying a dress that I didn't like very much.
I wound up changing my mind, and they would not take the dress back. I wound up going elsewhere to buy my wedding dress. Now i have two.
If they have what you're looking for, you can purchase samples here for somewhat reasonable prices, or you can custom order.
After shopping at Bridesmart and other bridal "superstores," I was getting a little discouraged. Then we went to the Brides' Room and were just blown away! We were the only clients there at the time and got amazing undivided attention. Jamie, the owner, and her assistant worked so hard to help me find the perfect dress. The fitting rooms were so comfortable and homey- it was a perfect place to find a dress. Their prices were very reasonable and the service unbeatable. We also got our bridesmaid dresses there and, with 5 of our 7 girls being "out of towners," this could have been disastrous! Our girls were able to order their dresses online, though, and got them with no issues.
We had such a great experience at the Bride's Room. They were so attentive and personable. We had no problems getting our out of town bridesmaids' dresses ordered and they helped me find my dream dress at a very reasonable price. A wonderful place- you won't be disappointed!
I bought my wedding dress here. They were very nice and I had the whole store to myself including a huge dressing room. All the attention was on me. I had two of the employees just to help me get dresses on and off. The service was 1000% better than David's Bridal. The dresses were beautiful and I had many to choose from. I highly recommend.
The staff at The Bride's Room are so wonderful. Their wedding dresses are sourced from trunk shows, so no two are alike. The owners are two women and they each are very involved - they only schedule one bride at a time, so the focus is entirely on you. I told them what I thought I wanted, but they also had me try on a couple that I would not have selected looking at them on the hanger. I thought I wanted a strapless dress, and fell in love with a dress that has thin straps - and it looks like it was made for me. Very customer service oriented.
They also helped us with the bridesmaids dresses. Because we had pretty much waited until the last minute to order (spent too much time looking at other places), they were able to narrow down our choices based on what they knew could be in on time. We ended ordering beautiful dresses that my sisters have actually worn to other events after the wedding.
I got my wedding dress here and my bridesmaids ordered their dresses here as well.
This was my third store to look at dresses and it was the most fun. I had the most personalized service and the sales people were the most attentive. I found the most unique dress and it wasn't full price! The issue I had was asking to take the shawl with after we paid for the dress, they weren't very enthusiastic about that. But we got it anyways!
The bridesmaid dresses were exactly the color I wanted. The girls got to pick from any of the available styles by one particular designer and just had to get them in the right color. The dresses were ordered and came in in plenty of time.
I fell in love with the dress right away, even though it was a style I hadn't planned on. They really know how to pamper you and make you feel special. I had a lovely time the first visit and subsequently after trying some lower cost alternatives, decided to stick with my dream dress. The quality and style of their sample designer dresses is unparalleled for the price ranges they have.
Loved working with the gals at the Brides' Room. The facility is so quaint and they meet with you 1-1 so you feel like you have the whole store to yourself.
In Any Event
Occasionally I go with clients to a dress fitting, and recently went here to learn how to work with a complex veil situation. They were so helpful and lovely to deal with - I want all my clients to go there! The store itself is really cute, staff is super knowledgeable and provided a fun atmosphere for my client. I give them 5 stars!
They see one bride at a time, so you can be sure that you have their undivided attention. Their large inventory of designer samples means you can chose from a great selection of styles without having to pay top designer prices. Your wedding day is special. At The Bride's Room, they feel your bridal gown shopping experience should be special too.
They feature designer sample wedding gowns and exquisite bridesmaids dresses.
