Butcher Shop Steakhouse

We love the Butcher Shop! The first thing that drew my attention was the atmosphere, its an old school Chicago style steakhouse...my, now husband, is from Chicago, so it was perfect for us.

The second, and most important, aspect that drew us in was the customer service. From the moment we first walked in, we felt as if we were special. Mike McCampbell, the Director of Sales, was incredible. He was so helpful and accommodating, it was an absolute pleasure to work with him and in fact, my husband and I now value him as a new friend.

The banquet room was the pefect size for our wedding, we had between 65-70 people in attendance, although, I believe the room can hold many more. We had the dance floor available all night, with tables seated around it, it was perfect.

The food was delicious and the best value around. We have had numerous compliments since our wedding, some saying that it was the best wedding they had attended in a long time. It was relaxed, yet formal, fun yet, serious. It was simply beautiful!

There is a built in bar, so there are not "bar setup fees"...and you don't pay separately for staffing, either the bar or the dining area. There are bathrooms within the room, so your guest have easy access without having to go outside of the "party" room. Mike and his staff were great in helping set up...again, no extra fees for "napkin" color...and no need for chair covers. We had a dj (a family friend) who was given total access to set up whatever needed. We were able to have our cake delivered the night before and were given complete access to set up the room as we desired.

Overall the experience was incredible and given the option...we would definitely do it all over again at the Butcher Shop!! In fact, we are contemplating hosting an annual event on our anniversary at the Butcher Shop!!! For certain, it is our favorite place to spend a lovely dining experience!!!

The food was great. We had so many compliments. One guest said his prime rib was "cooked perfectly. The best wedding food" he had from any other weddings he's been to. He was amazed by how juicy the prime rib was knowing that the restaurant had to prepare over a 100 in advance for our wedding. Another guest said she would like to have her wedding reception there when she gets married. A lot of people who have eaten there before were surprised to find out that they have a separate back room.

Mike McCampbell, the Senior manager, is wonderful. He goes the extra mile to help you with anything, even staying until midnight to help with the decorations & set up. He also offered to put all our centerpieces in the fridge until the next day to keep the flowers fresh, which didn't even cross my mind. He & his staff provided excellent service, asked me several times if I needed anything & making sure I eat.

The restaurant is centrally located in Kearny Mesa. Complimentary valet parking is also provided.
