The City Florist

We worked with Mallory at The City Florist and she couldn't have had a beter "consultant". She was able to look at all the pictures my daughter had and provide a cohesive plan and proposal for us. They were very flexible in terms of any changes we needed or wanted to make. Mallory made some wonderful suggestions about lighting and types of flowers that just proved stunning in the venue. Even the venue was impressed! Don't be foled by their "store front" which is older.....they are in the business of event planning and do a fantastic job!

This review is easy Mallory and her staff did a beautiful job. The flowers were breathtaking. I can't imagine using anyone else. If you want tropical or fresh flowers DO NOT go anyplace but city florist.

I absolutely loved my flowers. I had multiple people tell me that my flowers were the most beautiful arrangements as well as colors and varieties as they had seen. I am so happy with how they turned out.

The flowers for our wedding were absolutely gorgeous. I never met them in person but they took my emailed pictures and recreated exactly what I wanted. They got lots of compliments, very pretty!

Our flowers turned out absolutely beautiful and were exactly what we wanted. Our initial meeting Jim was fantastic, he special ordered in the flowers I was looking for just to show me a few ideas.

The time in between that initial meeting and the wedding was sometimes a rocky road though. There were multiple times I emailed Jim (this is how we had been communicating and I was in a different time zone) three times over a few week span about the same issue with no response. I finally had to call the shop, but then they couldn't do anything for me because Jim had my proposal on his personal computer so I had to wait again for him to get back to me.

Also I called to confirm our delivery time a few weeks away from the wedding and we decided on 12:00pm, however the flowers weren't delivered until an hour late the day of the wedding.

Overall I thought our flowers were fantastic, but be prepared for a little bit of stress associated with not being able to get in touch.

As soon as I met with Jim I knew I wanted him to be my florist. He is more than that. He helped me envision ceremony & table decor and made the vision come true. He provides way more than just flowers! We have worked with Jim and his team at many other events as well and his work is always superb! I would never pick any other florist for an event other than Jim!

Jim and Mallory created a beautiful scene for my wedding at Lighthouse Sound. I planned my wedding from afar and so only got to meet with them a few times, but the final product came out better than I had imagined. Jim worked with my budget and actually made the less expensive centerpiece more beautiful than the more expensive option would have looked. Everyone at the wedding commented on how striking the flowers and decor were.

I did struggle a bit with communication -- it took a few weeks to get an initial proposal and it sometimes took a few days (or even weeks on one occasion) to hear back from Jim, which was frustrating. I am not sure if this is normal though -- perhaps florists only focus on the details a few weeks out, and it certainly didn't help that I lived 250 miles away. Still, if there's one thing I'd improve upon, it's the speed of response from City Florist, even if it's just a "got your email, working on it". I also wasn't entirely clear on his vision because I never got some pictures that were promised of our centerpiece (again, living far away didn't help) and so I basically had to wait until our wedding day to see what the table arrangement looked like. Again, it was simply stunning -- no one on the Eastern Shore could have done a better job. It just required me to have a lot of faith in his vision!

The City Florsit (Jim Gray) is by far the best florist that we were fortunate enough to have meet and used. He had been to Hertiage Shores and knew what type of look we were looking for. We had already bought glass cylinders and lights. He knew how to make them look beyond words can say. We had lighted drapery behind the head tables and it looked stunning. He even did lighted drapery over top the dance floor as well! He has a creativity that is unbelievable. People at our daughter's wedding we just blown away. The exact words used was "This Is Something You See In A New York Wedding). People at the Hertiage Shores said it was the prettiest wedding that they had ever seen. We are just so happy that we meet and had The City Florist! His staff is just wonderful to work with as well. The are all super nice to work with and treat you as though this is their daughter's wedding as well. They are the best anywhere!

Jim totally got my vision and took it to the next level. He was in charge of all of our decor- ceremony, cocktail hour, chairs, linens, centerpieces, cake table, lighting, etc. and everything was amazing. I cried when I saw our reception room!

Jim Gray with City Florist was AMAZING! I was completely satisfied with his designs and vision for my Hawaiian wedding day. He also agreed to work along side with a florist I found in Hawaii that handmade all my leis for that special day. I want to thank Jim from the bottom of my heart for making my wedding day the most beautiful day of my life. Aloha Jim from Charlie and Beth Kistler!

I've always known that City Florist is an amazing florist and I was so excited when Jim said he would travel to NC for our special day! They are so much more than just a florist. They are the complete event design team. When I met with Jim, I walked in with 3 strips of ribbons and he created every detail just based on that. City Florist is great, you will not be disappointed!!!

Jim at City Florist did a fantastic job. He made the most gorgeous chuppah and stuck with my ideas and budget. Some aspects were not finalized until days before the wedding due to lack of communication, but it all worked out beautifully! Everyone loved the centerpieces and bouquets.

Jim at The City Florist was a great guy to work with. He and my mom hit it off immediately. Because I don't know my way around a flower shop, my mom mostly worked with him. However, I was able to tell him what I liked or did not like from the samples and he came up with beautiful bouquets. The most amazing being mine (obviously) but also my hair piece. I did not know exactly what I wanted but he took my thoughts and made it stunning.

There were one or two points where it took a few days for him to respond but when he did it was always with my interest in mind.

He was also very good about working within our budget and reusing flowers where we could. I would definitely recommend him for Eastern Shore brides.

Jim Gray at City Florist was so great! Our first meeting with him, I brought a purse full of magazine clippings and ideas. He immediately picked up on what I was going for and elaborated to include things I never would have dreamed of. He is experienced with many of the local vendors (ceremony/reception site, baker) and so was able to work effectively with them to figure out timing, quantity, etc. Very professional and an amazing artist...way beyond just flowers!

Beautiful, beautiful flowers and decorations! Jim did a fabulous job with everything, taking my ideas and creating a DREAM set-up. People still talk about how beautiful everything was 3 years later!
