The Comus Inn was the perfect venue for us and our budget. The management there was incredibly flexible and very professional. The location is breath taking and I recommend it to anyone with a limited budget. Oh, and the food is delicious!

I recently had my wedding at The Comus Inn and would very highly recommend it to any future couple looking for a venue that serves as an excellent ceremony and reception spot! We were hoping to have our ceremony on the lawn in front of the picturesque Sugarloaf Mountain but we ended up having bad weather (a snowstorm in late October!!). Even though the weather was not what we had pictured in our minds, the staff of the Comus Inn made our entire day as special as we imagined. Cheryl made the entire planning process go very smoothly and was very responsive to all our questions. All of the staff was very attentive, especially Lisa, who ensured that everything went flawlessly and kept us calm and stress-free so we could enjoy our special day to the fullest extent possible. We absolutely LOVED the Comus Inn and our guests couldn't say enough about how beautiful everything was...not to mention the AMAZING food!! The price was very reasonable, especially considering the quality of service. Definitely consider the Comus Inn when searching for your venue choice!!

Our wedding took place mid-October and we had a beautiful, sunny day. We chose The Comus Inn because of the outdoor setting and having Sugarloaf Mountain in the background. From the beginning, Cheryl was nothing but helpful - she answered all questions and communicated promptly with us. When we went for the tasting, my parents and fiance and I were very impressed with the quality of the food! Our guests still rave about the duck spring rolls we had as an appetizer. The day before, we dropped off some decorations for the ceremony and Cheryl went over all the details with us. On that Saturday, Cheryl and Lisa made sure that everyone enjoyed the day and helped us whenever we needed it. Lisa is excellent at her job and helped pin on corsages, made sure my husband and I got to eat some appetizers, and had a smile on her face the entire time. We have had so many guests tell us that the site was beautiful, the food was excellent, and that they had a wonderful time!

The wonderful staff at the Comus Inn made our wedding day spectacular! The venue was gorgeous; decorated and set up JUST the way I wanted. We got SO MANY compliments on how delicious the food was - it was delectable! If I could do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing - I would recommend The Comus Inn for any couple looking for a charming, elegant, & unforgettable wedding.

I cannot express how perfect this place was for our wedding. Firstly, my guests could not stop telling me how beautiful the scenery is and how AWESOME the food is; of course I couldn't agree more. However, what really made my day special and PERFECT was the staff. Cheryl, the even manager, takes care of everything you can imagine and she's got a great calming demeanor, which is good for any stressed bride to deal with. She also assigned a personal server to the bride and groom for our "day of" needs. Lisa, our server, was simply FABULOUS! She was kind, patient, thoughtful, attentive, sweet, and went above and BEYOND her call of duty for us and for our guests. My husband and I whole-heartedly recommend The Comus Inn for any event, especially the wedding of your dreams. :-)

I cannot say enough good things about The Comus Inn and Cheryl! The Comus Inn itself is absolutely gorgeous and overlooks Sugarloaf Mountain, which is the perfect setting for a wedding. Although it rained, we still had an amazing time. Cheryl was very professional, easy to work with and super friendly. She was able to answer all of our questions and keep us in budget. From the first meeting, to the food tasting, to the reception everything was easy and professional. And speaking of food, it is amazing, all of guest kept commenting on how wonderful the food was! And the serving staff was professional and wonderful to work with the day of the wedding. I would highly recommend The Comus Inn to anyone!

The Comus Inn is the most beautiful place to have a wedding. I wanted something that felt country and classy which is why I chose to have my reception here. It's beautiful!

Cheryl was awesome to work with. She was always sensitive to my needs. Working with Cheryl made this whole experience unforgettable.

We had to pay for our entire wedding and were looking for a venue that had a rustic, eco-outdoorsy feel, yet was still elegant. We definitely found that at The Comus Inn and it was very very affordable compared to other D.C. area venues. We had the wedding of our dreams and it turned out to be a beautiful day with perfect weather. The guests raved about the food! The pictures are to die for and we captured the natural beauty of the day. The staff left me nothing to worry about, as they took care of everything completely. Even if I'd have had more money, I would not go back in time and choose any other venue.

Our day was perfect! We got married on September 18, 2010 at 11:30am. The weather was perfect, not too windy and not too hot which totally helped when wearing my gown. The Comus Inn staff really made sure that we were happy.
I recommed The Comus Inn to anyone that wants to have a beautiful country wedding.
Thank you Cheryl & Staff

Cheryl and the Comus Inn were wonderful! I wanted to do a brunch but not too early and she was very flexible. It was also important to me to have a separate drink station that served non-alcoholic drinks away from the bar and she also made that happen. The room upstairs was perfectly set up for my ketubah signing.

Cheryl with the Comus Inn made the process of planning this wedding so amazing. She is very knowledgable and offers great ideas. She was always very responsive and professional. The BIG day went off with out a hitch and I know that Cheryl helped in large part to ensure that everything ran smoothly.
The views at the Comus are stunning and I have already had a ton of comments on my non-pro pictures about how lovely the venue was. Everyone enjoyed the food and the wait staff were pleasant and professional.
I would highly recommend this venue if your dream is to have a beautiful outdoor wedding.
GUEST

We chose The Comus Inn for our wedding because of the spectacular view and their reputation for great food in an elegant setting, and we were not disappointed! The wedding coordinator Cheryl was a breeze to work with, very accommodating and flexible. The staff was wonderful, and the food certainly lived up to its reputation! I would recommend The Comus Inn to another bride without hesitation.

Cheryl Cox and The Comus Inn were a dream come true for our wedding. I always wanted an outdoor wedding and with Sugerloaf Mountain sitting behind the restaurant, it was the perfect choice for me and my husband, Andrew. I immediately fell in love with the restaurant, the scenery and the food! Cheryl was great from the very first time we met her and she was very accomodating every step of the way. When we receieved a wrong meal choice during our tasting, she invited us back again for another full tasting with free dessert! It was fantastic! The weather was horrible on the day of our wedding, but inside The Comus Inn was warm and inviting. Everything looked gorgeous! We and our guests had a great time (especially inside at the bar)! Cheryl and the rest of the staff did a fantastic job making sure that everything we needed was taken care of, which really means a lot to me. I would definitely recommend The Comus Inn to anyone for a wedding, a party or even dinner! We will be back every October 24 for our anniversary!
GUEST

The Comus Inn is unparalleled in the DC area in terms of an affordable, elegant wedding venue. The food is delectable, the setting is glorious, and the staff--especially Cheryl Cox--couldn't be more helpful and accommodating. I give the Comus Inn two enthusiastic thumbs up and recommend it highly to all current and future brides!
GUEST

It was perfect for our wedding and takes great pictures. It rained and the tent worked well and once the rain stopped the quickly took down the 'walls" and we all enjoyed the sun. Cheryl was easy and quick to work. I would absolutely recommend it to everyone. Way better than getting married at a hotel!
GUEST

After looking at quite a few "country-side" locations in the DC area we ended up choosing The Comus Inn because it had the best view, and I am so glad we did! Comus was the perfect setting for our wedding. Cheryl was so easy to work with, and on our wedding day she made sure everything went smoothly and happened on time so I didn't have to worry about a thing! We are planning to return for dinner for our 1st anniversary next month.

Working with the Comus Inn (and Cheryl Cox) was an absolute pleasure. Planning a wedding can be very stressful but Cheryl made the entire experience very easy for us and the whole day was just perfect. She was very flexible with all of our requests and worked diligently to ensure that our day was smooth and flawless. We rented the tent for an outdoor ceremony and reception and the staff was very professional and courteous. The banquet manager was extremely helpful in organizing the guests and transitioning from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception. They worked with the DJ to create a seamless flow for the evening and everyone of our guests was very impressed. The location is fantastic with beautiful views, delicious food and a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere.
GUEST

My husband and I absolutely LOVED having our wedding here and would recommend it to anyone! Cheryl, the event coordinator was very helpful and provided excellent service. The place itself was beautiful and set up just perfectly for our special day. The staff was great and there were no issues at all. We both feel as though The Comus Inn was a great value for its cost and would absolutely recommend it to anyone. If I could do it over again I would 100% do it here again. Wonderful experience!
GUEST

I honestly couldn't have expected a better setting for my wedding day. Cheryl and staff were amazing with taking care of every detail. Five stars for flexibility doesn't even begin to describe how great it was working with the Comus Inn. They were able to work with my dreams of a French inspired menu including my idea for a Crepe Bar at dessert. Everything went off without a hitch and it was my absolute dream come true. Thank you!
GUEST

Cheryl, the even coordinator at the Comus Inn, was extremely flexible and accomodating. The entire staff the night of our reception was friendly, and anticipated our every need. The setting is absolutely stunning!
GUEST

The Comus Inn far exceeded our expectations. Cheryl the coordinator was very professional and took a special interest in making our wedding both perfect and possible within our budget. The ceremony was beautiful and exactly what we wanted in an outdoor wedding. Sugarloaf mountain as a background was perfect for us as it was also the site of our first date. Also, they were flexible with our rehearsal time though it was a busy wedding season and we were told by many guest that it was the best wedding food that they had ever had. Not to mention they made a custom menu just to fit the theme of our wedding. I recommend going there for dinner and checking the place out to see if its the fit for you! Its a gorgeous little get away either way!
GUEST

The Comus Inn was perfect for our outdoor wedding and ceremony. The setting was beautiful and the food was delicious. A great value and a wonderful staff. Thanks Cheryl.
GUEST

I am happy to report that this was BARNONE the easiest wedding I ever planned!!! Not to be tacky, this was wedding #2, and we really were completely focused on the bond we share, and didn't want to be bothered with linens, food selection or any other detail. Cheryl at the Comus was so accomodating and such a great sport about the whole thing. If you want a carefree wedding experience, you can certainly rely on the staff at the Comus Inn to handle every detail. They also provide MANY choices for the 1st time bride who wants every detail to be exact. The venue is very kid friendly with a great "field" for running around in the back and food choices that even the pickiest kid couldn't resist. We were on a very small budget and their flexibility and willingness to "make it work" was priceless!! It's a beautiful drive to The Comus Inn and the view from the back patio is amazing. It is such a warm and intimate setting, and sunset is probably the best time of day to hold your event/ceremony. I will NOT be getting married again, but look forward to better economic times so we can celebrate one of our anniversaries with all our loved ones back at the Comus Inn. :)
GUEST

The Comus Inn is set at a BEAUTIFUl location and the staff (especially Cheryl, the director there) are all wonderful and sincere about making sure your wedding day turns out to be everything you want! I HIGHLY recommend this location especially if you are looking to have your wedding outdoors.
GUEST

We LOVED the Comus Inn. It was such a beautiful venue to have both our ceremony and reception. Cheryl, the event planner, was a pleasure to work with. She was flexible, laid back, and gave good insight. She only gave advice when asked which as a bride I truly appreciated. The night was perfect and we couldn't ask for a better venue. The only reason why I put 4.5 stars for the quality of service was because the waiters were talking very loudly to our guests when it was time to servie the meals and people were giving their speeches during this time. To their credit they were asking the meal choices of some guests but it was during the speeches so we had to tell the wait staff to speak softer. Overall it was the perfect place to have a wedding. I would reccommend it to anyone.
GUEST

We had such an amazing wedding at the Comus Inn. I dare say that it was PERFECT thanks to the help of Cheryl, their wonderful event coordinator, and their staff.
We picked the site based on it's beautiful setting at the foot of Sugarloaf Mountain and their ability to hold the wedding and ceremony on the same site. After eating at the their restaurant a few times we were also convinced that the price for their food was well worth it too.
Cheryl was great to work with! We met with her over a year before we planned to get married and coordinated most of the details via e-mail since we live in Arizona. There were a few times it would like several days to get a response, but as our wedding approached her responses were much quicker. Some of the e-mails were involving coordinating decorations and even getting samples of several different green linens so that we could plan our centerpieces. For our rehearsal our officiant was late, but Cheryl was calm and collected as she helped explain the wedding events and conducted most of the rehearsal. On the day of the wedding there were thunderstorms threatening our outdoor ceremony, but she calmly explained our options and when we needed to make a decision if the ceremony would remain outside. You will be thankful for her professional and calm manner when you are nervous about walking down the isle and balling with tears during your vows - I know I was.
On another note, the tent, dance floor and fans for the tent are all shared with other events that happen that same weekend. So it was great to get a price break and help other brides out by adding these items to our reception. Initially we thought we didn't need a dance floor and would dance on the concrete patio any ways, but we are really glad Cheryl offered a discount for sharing the floor that didn't tear up our dancing shoes!
Last but not least, the food was amazing! I could list all the wonderful things we had on our buffet, but from what I could tell anything you order there will be great! I would definitely recommend the Comus Inn for your wedding ceremony and/or reception.
Have fun at your wedding and a wonderful marriage!
GUEST

The Comus Inn is a beautiful wedding venue! We had the most perfect weather for an outdoor ceremony on the lawn and reception under the tent (with heaters). The staff at the Comus were accommodating and the day-of banquet staff were very helpful. Our banquet leader was always making sure that we were doing okay throughout the evening. One of the benefits of having a wedding at the Comus Inn is that they are a restaurant, so they already know how to make good food! Many of our guests commented on how delicious the food was at our wedding, and one guest was impressed that the food came out hot, even with almost 100 entrees being served! Overall, the Comus is a great place to get married. We highly recommend it. Just pray for good weather!
GUEST

We had the perfect wedding at The Comus Inn! Beautiful location, tasty food, and super professional staff about sum it up. Some highlights:
- our rehearsal lunch place wasn't going to work out, and The Comus accommodated us having our rehearsal lunch there with no problem
- on the day of, some wasps wandered into the tent (probably looking for warmth; it was chilly outside!) and Lisa, one of the servers, captured the wasps and released them outside the tent
- one of the kids present didn't want her kid's meal and they made chicken fingers for her in record time
- Lisa (again, awesome!) noticed me getting coffee near the end and brewed a new pot just for me
- Cheryl was a pleasure to work with, as were all the staff
- the staff set up all our decorations for us and the whole effect was just beautiful
- Did I mention tasty food?! It was great!
I would recommend them to anyone who wants an outdoor, low-stress wedding (and the reception tent is quite elegant and even has transparent walls so you can keep enjoying the view!).
GUEST

We had such a great experience at the Comus Inn. Cheryl and the staff made sure everything was taken care of. The food was delicious, the price was reasonable, and we were well cared for. However, the most amazing thing happened on our wedding day. It was quite possibly the worst rain storm in years with high winds. To make sure the tent didn't blow apart, two men from the staff stood at each corner and held the tent flaps together. They got soaked. I was so touched by that. That shows they really cared enough to make sure our day wasn't ruined!
GUEST

My husband and I had a beautiful ceremony and reception at The Comus Inn in May. Cheryl was great to work with and everything turned out wonderful. The location is gorgeous, the staff is very helpful, and the food is delicious. Highly recommend this venue to future brides.
GUEST

We had an absolutely beautiful reception there and everyone had a wonderful time, even though it was raining. The food was great and the setting was lovely. They were great to work with, and the only thing I marked them down for was that they were occasionally a little difficult to get a hold of during the planning process, but never to the point of creating any issues.
GUEST

We were very happy with the excellent food and service at The Comus Inn. Our wedding ceremony and reception went perfectly and the Comus staff were thoughtful and responsive. Cheryl was especially helpful guiding us through the entire planning process, and was always quick to respond to questions and concerns we had. We had a lovely wedding and the Comus did a wonderful job!
GUEST

My wedding took place at the Comus Inn on 10/22/11. I found the Comus Inn while searching for a wedding venue online and the second my husband and I arrived we knew it was the perfect place for our wedding! And after we did a tasting we were very impressed with the food as well. Cheryl does a great job, she is very laid back which is exactly what I needed. She answered all of my questions and responded quickly to emails. We shared the venue with another wedding on our wedding day but everyone at the Comus must have worked very hard to turn things over because I never even saw evidence of another wedding! And we split the tent cost with the other wedding so I considered it well worth it! Our wedding day was amazing and ended up being so perfect! We loved the Comus and so did our wedding guests! We will be back for our anniversary next year!
GUEST

The Comus Inn is a great place to get married and/or have a reception. Depending on the size of the wedding, there is indoor/outdoor flexibility. The outdoor views are fantastic, and the interior is very nice with good views of the outdoors. If it's raining there may not be a great place for wedding photos, but if it isn't there are tremendous outdoor photo ops there. I thought the servers were great and the food is quite good. They also had a variety of food options which was very helpful to us. Cheryl was very responsive and easy to work with. No major complaints. I highly recommend the Comus Inn.
GUEST

The Comus Inn was the location for our wedding and reception. It offers a stunning view of Sugarloaf Mountain and the fields leading up to its base. The Inn itself is a restaurant with a generous private floor for weddings, which includes an indoor area that opens to a huge outdoor patio and lawn. I was very happy with this venue and so were our guests. The food was good, service was fantastic, and view was incredible. Cheryl, the special event manager, followed through with all of my requests and was always responsive. My guests seemed just as romanced by the setting as we were and we were very happy to have selected this location for our ceremony and reception-we will be dining at the Comus for many anniversaries to come.
GUEST

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Comus Inn in early June and for the most part, everything went great. We were lucky and had gorgeous weather, so during the reception the many kids that attended my wedding were able to run around on the grass and roll down the hill without bothering other guests that were eating and dancing. The food was good, and the staff was very nice.
GUEST

We were able to book The Comus Inn on fairly short notice, which was great. Our wedding and reception were beautiful. The food was fantastic....people still comment on it (especially the mac and cheese bar). The people who serviced our wedding/reception were very professional, courteous and accomodating. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we would highly recommend The Comus Inn!!
GUEST

Spectacular venue. Service was excellent. Food was delicious and beautifully presented
GUEST

We visited the Comus Inn for dining several times before we made our decision for wedding venue. We liked their quality of food and wonderful view of Sugarloaf and those were main reason of our decision making. However, it was surprising that the venue provided a event manager on the day, which was not noticed. And the manager conducted everything perfectly for us. Before the ceremony started, she checked bridal parlor to see if I need help, cheered me up. She seemed always observing what's going on among guests during the reception. Because of the perfect management, we got many compliments for our choice of venue. Everybody impressed food quality, service quality on top of its beautiful nature. My husband and I were so busy that we could not pay attention though, she solved most issues before we noticed. I would say that their service level is extremely high which we cannot experience from modern American service industry.
Anyway, we could have perfect wedding day and we would recommend this place for wedding venue. They will listen to you until you're satisfied and make your dream true.
GUEST

We chose The Comus Inn for our August 2009 wedding based on the setting - the stunning views and quiet country atmosphere were exactly what we were looking for! When we ate at The Comus Inn for the first time we realized that with such an incredible menu it would be the perfect location to entertain our guests. It was always a pleasure to work with The Comus Inn. The staff was incredibly conscientious and helpful - always willing to do what they could to help make our day just the way we wanted. We could not have asked for a more perfect setting! The views, food, service, and accommodating staff were above and beyond our expectations!
GUEST

I had my reception at the Comus Inn on the outdoor patio. It was absolutely gorgeous. The wait staff were amazing especially the head waitress who personally tended to myself and my groom. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the Prime Rib, which I would highly recommend. Our guests LOVED having sugarloaf mountain as a backdrop and took tons of pictures of themselves and their families during the cocktail hour. There were a few wedding crashers from the restaurant upstairs and I think a few locals living within walking distance. We didn't have an open bar so it wasn't a big deal. I did have some trouble with the events manager who was very unorganized. She could be difficult to get a hold of and unreliable. She didn't always get my emails so I had to pursue her constantly and check several times to see if she had gotten my emails or acted on the ones she did read. My mother in law hosted the rehearsal dinner at the Comus Inn as well and had just as much trouble with her. She also wasn't very good at giving suggestions on food or drink options or pairings. I found her very frustrating and I had to aggressively pursue her during a time when I had a lot on my plate planning a wedding and moving. But the reception turned out to be amazing and the rest of the staff really knew how to pull off an event. I would recommend the Comus Inn to anyone with the caveat that you need to be on top of things.
GUEST

Everything was amazing. Cheryl helped us organize so much of our wedding. She had a time line set for us, floor setting, and food. We even suggested fried chicken as an entree and she let us add that to the menu and it was a huge hit! Everyone loved it! She was rapid to respond to all my questions and emails! We has a slight problem with the manager not reviewing our contract and cutting our open bar off an half an hour early, Cheryl got in touch with us to discuss solutions after the event. That was the only problem we had. Cheryl is amazing and takes off a lot of the wedding day stress and provided much needed comfort for stressful brides!
GUEST

The Comus Inn was the perfect location for our wedding. We really wanted something outdoors and that wasn't too stuffy, and The Comus Inn really fit the bill. We had the ceremony outside and the reception on the tented terrace. The food was very important to my husband and I, and The Comus Inn didn't let us down. We loved the many options that fit any budget. Only caution is that although the staff is truly helpful and nice, the on-site wedding coordinator lacked enthusiasm at times.
GUEST

My overall experience with the Comus Inn was amazing. Cheryl was a fantastic event coordinator. Lisa was our head waitress for the evening and she was extremely attentive to all my needs.
The scenery can't be beat, the food was amazing. I had so many guests ask us how we even found this place and agree that it fit our personalities perfectly.
I highly recommend the Comus Inn to any future bride and groom!
GUEST

Comus Inn is a gorgeous venue for any event. The wedding was held outside under a tent facing a beautiful fountain. We had hors d'ouvres and cocktails inside while the tent area was turned over and set for the meal. I only wish we had more time to enjoy everything. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable.
GUEST

The Comus Inn was exactly what we were looking for - a picturesque place for an outdoor wedding ceremony but with a great indoor space for an intimate reception. The service was professional, the food was good, and they were able to accommodate our relatively modest budget. They took care of the chair rental for us, and even had a cute private bridal suite to use when getting ready. All in all I would highly recommend it! It would make a good place for a rehearsal dinner, too.
GUEST

My fiancé and I choose the Comus Inn for our reception location. It was close to the church we were married in and the setting was unique. Since most of our guests were from out of town, we wanted to treat them to something special instead of a cold, ordinary hotel banquet room. The setting and view at Comus Inn is spectacular! We were married in August and down here that time of year you don’t know what the weather will bring. Fortunately Comus Inn was prepared. We had a tent with sides in case of rain and we also had fans, in case of extreme heat. Thankfully we were blessed with the most perfect day! We had the fans running, but as the sun was setting, we had a great breeze and it was actually cool!
The food at the Comus Inn is exceptional. We had a fairly extensive cocktail hour with a raw bar, which was the hit of the reception. We went for a food tasting to decide on the entrees and we gave our guests a choice of chicken, beef or salmon. The food at the tasting was incredible. My only complaint was the chicken we tasted at the tasting was NOT the chicken that was served at the wedding. That was extremely disappointing since I raved about the chicken and it was what I choose to eat that night. I donÂ’t know how that got screwed up but I wasn't happy.
Other than the problem with the one dish we choose, everything at the Comus Inn was perfect. They did a fantastic job setting everything up. The tent and view were breath-taking. Cheryl was very easy to work with and she was very responsive to me and my many questions and concerns.
The staff did a great job tending to all my guests. They were courteous and professional.
All of our guests said our wedding was the best wedding they had ever been to. I believe a lot of that was the location we choose. The Comus Inn is a wonderful place to have your reception. ItÂ’s classy with great food and a spectacular view. I would highly recommend them.
GUEST

Good food -- friendly staff -- great location, beautiful scenery/view of Sugarloaf Mountain -- very expensive, especially the tent rental -- isn't as equipped as other wedding venues (no arch provided, no outdoor speakers for wedding ceremony, everything is essentially extra fee-wise)
GUEST

Comus Inn is a beautiful venue! Our pictures are amazing! Cheryl (the coordinator) is very helpful and responds to emails/calls right away..

Beautiful setting for a reception in terms of the outdoor patio and backdrop for photos. They could have used an awning or more umbrellas to shield people from sun. Wedding coordinator was pleasant and listened to our needs. Seating was a little tight but we had the outside as well. The food was good, not great, and the timing of the meal service was a little off- but it did not create any problems. They worked well with all of the other vendors we hired. We were due some credits for some things that were charged to us, but that was resolved quickly.
GUEST

Our wedding and reception was held at the Comus Inn. It was absolutely gorgeous! It is the perfect location for a fall wedding. The food for the reception was wonderful and the staff really helped us to pull all the details together. People are still telling me what an amazing site the Comus was for our wedding!
GUEST

The quality of service, responsiveness and cost was above average. Professionalism and flexibility was average. At times I felt that I had to follow-up or felt like I was asking for something special. Nice outdoor area and view is excellent.
GUEST

I recently had my wedding here and want to share my post-wedding perspective.
Pros: The location is beautiful and rustic, with wonderful views of the Sugarloaf mountain. It was one of the nicest rustic, outdoor locations in the DC area I found, and they will work with your budget. Food is decent when individually served, but in bulk for a wedding, our meals were fine but guests mentioned that the fish dish was bland and dry.
Cons: I would pay extreme attention to detail as the wedding manager on hand does not respond fully to questions. She would often respond to emails, but fail to answer several questions. This caused more stress than necessary. I ended up paying for a separate wedding planner for the day of and it was the best decision I ever made-partly because the wedding manager, who would have served as the day of manager, doesn't stay till the end of your event.
Bartender and Food Service was good, but servers at the wedding did not circulate to refill water glasses or check on guests.
The venue failed to tell me about music ordinances in the area which required the music to be turned down in volume significantly midway through my event, which was very disruptive (they did tell me that music had to be shut off at 10pm, but no information about lowering the volume was mentioned).
I would also look over your bill/contract very carefully to catch mistakes on what was previously agreed to. A several hundred dollar mistake was made on my bill and I did not find out until the DAY OF THE WEDDING (the last thing any bride wants to deal with on her wedding day).
At the end of the day I had a beautiful wedding, mostly because I am super organized and had other vendors who advocated on my behalf. I would not recommend a friend to get married here without explaining the caveats and insisting on a separate wedding planner.
GUEST

It is an absolutely beautiful venue, but the dinner took over an hour to serve and the food that was provided at the wedding was completely different than the entrees on our contract and given to us at the tasting. The event coordinator was not very helpful and messed up several of the details. I recommend this venue only if you are willing to be very direct or have your our wedding planner/coordinator. My wedding was beautiful and the venue played a big part in that, but it was made extremely stressful and frustrating due to inconsistencies of the venue.
Working with the Comus Inn (and Cheryl Cox) was an absolute pleasure. Planning a wedding can be very stressful but Cheryl made the entire experience very easy for us and the whole day was just perfect.
Thank you!
Cheryl Cox and The Comus Inn were a dream come true for our wedding. I always wanted an outdoor wedding and with Sugarloaf Mountain sitting behind the restaurant, it was the perfect choice for me and my husband, Andrew. I immediately fell in love with the restaurant, the scenery and the food! Cheryl was great from the very first time we met her and she was very accommodating every step of the way. When we received a wrong meal choice during our tasting, she invited us back again for another full tasting with free dessert!
I've been priviledged to be a prefered vendor for photography at Comus Inn. Anytime a bride emails be with this as her venue she automatically gets priority booking with me. The venue is romantic, rustic, and charming. It's a total gem and Cheryl does a great job caring for all her brides. I love to shoot here.
I have been working with Cheryl at The Comus Inn for about 6 years. She is lovely, warm, calm, and very knowledgeable about wedding planning. The view is spectacular!

I had the extreme pleasure of providing on site makeup services for a Bride at the Comus Inn and I have to say, I was so IMPRESSED ! the minute I stepped foot inside, I was promptly greeted and lead the lovely area set aside for brides as they are getting ready, wonderful and accomodating set up that any makeup or hair artist would love!
Not to mention, they really cater to the bride and her bridal party bringing champagne and appetizers while they are gettting ready and make sure you are taken care of every step of the way!
I really love the layout of the venue, the staff, the grounds are gorgeous, I would book this venue in a HEARTBEAT! Awesome! Can't wait to visit again!

I am a local Wedding Coordinator who recently met with Cheryl from The Comus Inn to take a look at what the venue has to offer its wedding clients. It is a beautiful property, with gorgeous views of Sugarloaf Mountain and provices an excellent setting for your Wedding Reception. It is extremely accessible for your guests and Cheryl is very easy to work with.
Peaceful and breath taking! Please take a trip out at sunset for dinner to experience Sugar loaf Mountain at the Comus Inn. Get out of the draby, same old downtown seen. This venue is gorgeous, and the food is out of this world! When you're there ask them for one of their demos which is wonderful for pitching it to your folks. I give it a perfect 10!!
The Comus Inn offers an elegant country setting with an extraordinary mountain view and excellent food and service. Some of the most beautiful weddings we've worked on have been at The Comus Inn!
