The Country Abbey

This is a very pretty facility. We felt that the staff was difficult to get along with and that we were nickle and dimed through the whole process. Even though we paid a clean up fee, we still cleaned the reception hall on our own, yet were still billed for minor details. The staff came by to check on the reception, and then proceeded to help themselves to the food we had set out!

I was a little disappointed with the professionalism displayed during the rehearsal, ceremony, and preperatin for the reception. I had decided a couple of weeks beore the wedding not to use Country Abbey's wedding cooridinator. When we arrived for rehearsal, the Country Abbey wedding cooridator had been moved to the position of Music/ Sound Sysem person. There were many people at the rehearsal from out of town, and everyone was excited, so it took a while for thigs to calm down, and organization to kick in. When the wedding cooridator/music person was asked her opinion of something, she would answer in a very rude, condescending tone. When it came time to rehearse with music, she told me " We do not play music during the rehearsal practice." and walked off. It was cleared later to practice with the music, which I was very grateful for because one of my cd's did not work on their sound system. During th actual wedding, the sound system employee was distracted on her cell phone, and my party made a mistake. The wedding cooridinator could not get her attention to start the song over and had to walk to the back of the church, climb up the stairs, to get her attention. My catorer did not have the proper insurance that the Country Abbey requires. She truly thought she did after talking to her company. She was dealt with in a rude and condescending way the day of the wedding. On a poitive not for the Country Abbey, the city shut off the main water line during the rehearsal, and the Country Abbey owner hauled in water for toilet use and kitchen use. I was told later she really did the best she could to accomodate the situation. Everyone wants this special day to be perfect, and there is no such thing, I am sure it is a hard standard to live up to. Overall, the wedding was great, and you would just have to decide if the things mentioned in this review were a deal breaker for you are not. They probably would not be for me.

This is a wonderful place to have a wedding the people here nice, kind and friendly. We really enjoyed having a wedding here it was amazing thanks to the staff. I highly recommendt this place for a wedding.

This place was wonderful! I could not have asked for a better venue to have a wedding. I had the ceremony and reception back to back during the day time on a Saturday afternoon. Naomi N. (the owner) and our day of coordinator - Elaine were an excellent team. Naomi was flexible and always in a good mood! She was easy to work with and helped me decide on ceremony and reception decor. Elaine was very professional, prompt, and available with anything that I needed. She was amazing on the day of the wedding and made sure everybody was where they needed to be! We also used their recommended DJ services - Chris and Carrie (North Texas DJ's). Chris provided us all the music and MORE that we wanted. (I even got compliments on the music that was played). Carrie acted as a reception coordinator that helped my husband and I be where we needed to be and talk to who we needed to talk to. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

The Country Abbey was an AMAZING place to have a wedding with an old fashioned, historical and elegant feel! Naomi was wonderful to work with. She was very flexible and extremely accommodating. The church was beautiful and the reception area was a nice size as was the kitchen. The bridal suites and groom's suite were beautifully furnished and fit our bridal party well. They even let us use their iron! The wedding was beautiful and all the guests were so impressed by the facilities.

Everything was perfect. I wish I could do my wedding all over again.

WOW! The best word to describe the country abbey. Naomi and her staff were wonderful each step of the way. There are so many small things the country abbey did to make my wedding extra special. We used our own vendors and decorated ourselves and there were NEVER any issues. The country abbey was quick to respond and they even mailed me back a headband the flower girl had left behind. It's all in the small details and they definetly made my wedding less stressful.

My son and his future wife said cleanliness, flexibility and Naomi's welcoming attitude were major factors in choosing the Country Abbey. Long distance planning was done, but no problems pulling it all together in the last few days. We had a lunch reception and the hall was perfect. I suggest bringing in extra people to do any extra decoration during & after rehearsal, so only final touches have to be done on wedding day. Extremely experienced and helpful staff were a pleasure to work with. We used Black Eyed Pea Restaurant, who was familiar with the venue and set up a delicious buffet. The Country Abbey was a perfect choice for Neil and Beth.

The Country Abbey made everything so easy. The ladies were very flexible, available to help out with anything we needed or to step back and let us do our own thing. We could bring our own decorations, or hire their professional decorator. We could do our own catering, or hire a vendor on our own, or we could utilize their services. They offered comprehensive lists of vendors they've worked with in the past, including a few "Never hire this group!" (always appreciated when you don't know any name on the list!)

While we did not do it, they offer a comprehensive package that includes the venue, flowers, catering, photographer, cakes, the whole deal for a very reasonable rate. We ended up spending slightly less than the advertised rate, but I think it would have saved quite a bit of frustration and stress to go that route. I highly recommend at least checking it out and crunching some numbers before deciding.

The only issue we had was the day-of food. The Abbey offers a day-of snack service for the dressing rooms, and ours got overlooked the day of. However Naomi apologized and took care of it immediately, so the "issue" was a total nonissue. Everything else was spot-on.

Overall, I'd highly recommend working with The Country Abbey. I can't praise them highly enough. If you decide to book with them, be sure you look at the race schedule for the Speedway. We scheduled our wedding on a non-race weekend, so traffic wasn't bad, but on a race weekend? Oof! So be...

The Country Abbey was the first venue that we looked at and we chose it almost immediately. You get a great value for your money and they include a lot of the basic decorations in your package. They also give you a sound system to use and allow outside catering which was an advantage for us since we were on a budget. Naomi always responded to my emails quickly and let me make as many appointments as I needed to look at the venue and decide on decorations. I would highly recommend them. Even though we were on a budget the wedding was beautiful!

The country abbey was everything we could have asked for and more...friendly staff who is ready to handle any crisis, great set up, everything. When my husband and I finally had some time to ourselves we couldnt stop talking about how the wedding was more than we could have ever dreamed of. The staff at the abbey really took the image in my head and made it a reality.

What a GREAT place to have a wedding!! Clean, spacious, just overall enjoyed the day and so did all of our guest! :)

The country abbey was amazing! The staff was super friendly and always got back to phone calls or emails as soon as they could! They worked around your schedule as much as possible too! There was no wedding the Friday before mine...so they let some of my family decorate during the rehearsal! They made the whole wedding process easier! We recommend then to anyone and everyone!

I highly recommend the country Abbey to anyone who is need of a venue. The staff is wonderful and is there to help you with whatever needs to be done. It only took 1 look at the abbey after looking at several other venues to determine that this was the place. Everything went as planned. It was wonderful and we couldn't have asked for more!!

The Country Abby was excellent for our wedding! We had a lot of changes from the origional plan when my husband's army shipment date changed and the Abby made the wedding of our dreams possible and beautiful! Great Venue and beautiful reception! Highly recommended!!!!!!

Choosing The Country Abbey as our wedding venue was by far the best decision we could make with our wedding. The staff was always available and very helpfull throughout the process. They were also very flexible, we used our decorations and well as theirs for the ceremony and reception. They had worked with our caterer (The Blackeyed Pea) before and knew how to accomodate them. Our ceremony cordinator was able to guide us step by step during the rehearsal since we were a little unsure of how the ceremony would flow the best. During the day of our wedding, everything went by smoothly and Im sure Naomi and her crew were hard at work with that! The venue itself is simply lovely, it was large enough for our 200 guest yet felt cozy and intimate.

I had the Ultimate Package, and Molly did a wonderful job. I told her my vision, and she made it come true. They were very accommodating, and the rest of the staff was pleasant to work with. I would recommend them friends.

What an incredible experience. As soon as we visited The Country Abbey, we knew that this was the place we wanted to be married at! From the beginning, the whole staff was exceptional. We got married here in November 2010. Still everytime we see any of our guests, they comment on how great the wedding was. My goal for our wedding was to keep it as stress free as possible. Working with them was just that, stress free! Things could not have gone smoother! The staff was always willing to help. We had a few things come up throught the process and they were always willing to help us figure things out!! I cannot express enough how blessed we felt the entire time we were there. Thank you Naomi, Amy, and the rest of the staff for making it a perfect start to the rest of our lives!

Wonderful! The Country Abbey has wonderful charm and was perfect for mine and my husband’s unique wedding. Naomi was very personable and wonderful to work with. As time grew close to our wedding the staff was very much on top of everything. (We catered with The Glory House, the food was great but the Glory Houses staff lack just a little. They seemed confused on how the food was to be served).
Talking about The Country Abbey more: Sarah Parr was our coordinator for the day and she was worth the money. She was very much on top of everything and was always one step ahead of me. I loved that and felt very comfortable with her. Amy Rutledge and Kathryn N. (Kathryn left to go travel) were very commutative and answered my emails in a timely manner. Molly Mason was my decorator and let me just say LOVE HER! From the second we met we were insyc on all aspects of the decorations. She was very observant of my likes and dislikes and I felt she really listened to what I wanted. (In general I recommend ordering a decorating package. They have a variety of linens, candle holders, centerpieces, and finishings that added a wonderful element to mine and my husband’s wedding day). Don’t worry the venue was very open to me bringing in my own decorations for a personal touch.

I also recommend Love Notes for a wedding minister. They have a comprehensive and useful book on how to plan your ceremony. The minister was very personable yet professional. I actually remember a lot from the ceremony. I think that speaks well of Love Notes.

My husband and I were very happy with The Country Abbey. As far as value for your money, you absolutely cannot beat it! They did our decorations for us, ceremony and reception, and we were blown away! We got so many compliments on how beautiful everything looked! The staff is so friendly, and very flexible. They worked with us every step of the way, and made us feel like we weren't just another number, but that we were a very special couple and they were going to work hard making our day special. The only thing I would have liked to seen done differently, is the coordinator stay throughout more of the reception. Our DJ didn't do a very good job at coordinating timing of the reception events, and so it was a little stressful. I did feel a little rushed by the coordinator before and after the ceremony, and I wasn't too happy with that. But, I don't think that reflects on the Abbey because that's just one person.

Overall, we were very happy and would recommend them to anyone looking to have a quaint country wedding, on a budget.

The facility was beautiful and extremely well priced. We had the intimate wedding we dreamed of, and the staff were very helpful. We even had my bridal shower at their separate facility, the adorable Seely House. The entire experience was amazing! We loved every minute of it!

The Country Abbey was PERFECT for my wedding. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The planning was actually fun! We purchased the Ultimate Package and had absolutely nothing to worry about from start to finish. The vendors they suggest and the service they provide are extraordinary. Wanting to be married close to Scott's home, we found The Country Abbey in an online search. Boy did we ever luck out! Who knew there was such a fabulous chapel tucked away in the middle of small town, Justin, TX! We wanted immediate family members only, so ours was a small affair, but from the look of the wonderful photos you'd think we had a huge event! They handled everything - with very short notice and on a holiday weekend at that! We are extremely pleased and happy and think that you will be as well! Scott & Karen married at the Abbey 12/26/09!

The Country Abbey was absolutely wonderful! I had to give them a 5.0 on everything. Flexibility is definitely a plus. Originally, when we placed our deposit, we were getting married in August of 2010 and then some things changed and we moved the date up to December of 2009. They replied very quickly to let me know what dates were available and the deposit still applied. Every time I needed anything they were very professional and they were one of the most economical venues I found while being much prettier and friendly than the others I had met with. The chapel is absolutely beautiful. I loved the ceiling and the stained glass windows. They offer decorating packages which took a huge load off my plate. One hour-and-a-half or so long meeting a month before the wedding to discuss decor and that was it. I walked in on my wedding day and it was perfect.

All of the OTHER vendors I worked with (stylist, cake, officiant) all kept trying to add little changes to what I wanted, to make the event more their style than mine. This was absolutely not true of The Country Abbey. They handled the decorations and catering for me, in addition to providing the beautiful ceremony and reception venue. I told them exactly what I wanted in terms of decor and catering, and they delivered exactly what I wanted with no argument. Considering that I'm not likely to be a repeat customer (as much as I would like to be), I have to admit I was surprised at the very high level of service and how I felt like they were truly listening to my wishes, but at the same time did not constantly bother me to approve every little detail. I highly recommend this venue.

I could not have found a more perfect place for my wedding. All of the ladies were wonderful in helping out. Everyone who came to the wedding was equally impressed by the staff and the capel itself. Anyone that is looking to have a smaller wedding, and in a location where traffic and parking is not a problem it is perfect.

The Country Abbey was wonderful! My daughter's wedding went off with out a hitch. Katherine was great to work with and any question that I had was promptly answered. I would highly recommend The Country Abbey for anyone planning a wedding. The reception staff was awesome they even made a to go box for the bride and groom to be able to enjoy their food later that night or the next day along with some cake before they left on their honeymoon!

I could not have been more pleased with the level of service, the professionalism, the kindness, and the quality of this facility and staff. I had the pleasure to work with Katherine, Amber (decorator), and Sarah (coordinator). They took care of everything, the minor details, the big stuff, all the while making sure that I was doing ok and that I didn't need anything along the way. I almost wish I could get married again just to work with them again! (haha just kidding, I'm so happy!) They made what could have been a very stressful day a very fun one, for me and for my guests. I can't recommend them highly enough!!! The location is a little out of the way if you hate driving, but it's just beautiful. Huge props to the Country Abbey!

I fell in love from the first time we had the tour, It was decorated perfect everything i wanted and Naomi and Katherine, Amber and Sara are wonderful. It made a very special day perfect!!! These ladies are wonderful and I recommend this venue to everyone.

The Country Abbey staff was extremely helpful throughout our wedding planning process. Their decorating design for both the chapel and the reception area absolutely captured what we had invisioned. This venue has a quaint, welcoming atmosphere and I would recommend their services to anyone.

The Country Abbey was the perfect place to have a nice wedding. Katherine, Naomi, and Amber were very kind, and listened to our needs and wants and gave it to us without a problem. We had them do just about everything from decorating to setting up the tables, and even cleaning up afterwards so my hard working parents didn't have to stay any longer. You guys are great, I would recommend the Abbey to anyone having a wedding up to 200 guests. Also Katherine always got back to me when I had any questions over e-mail for her. I am very thankful for finding the Abbey, because I would not have wanted me wedding any other way. Thanks.

The Country Abbey was perfect for us. It was intimate without being too small and the included decorations in the chapel were beautiful. Naomi and Katherine were wonderful to work with. My only complaint was that we had to be out by midnight. We would have gone longer if they would have let us.

The Country Abbey is a beautiful chapel. It reminds me of the country church I grew up in with modern amenities. The staff were knowledgeable and wonderful to work with. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding experience.

I used The Country Abbey for my ceremony and reception and they were absolutely amazing. Kathryn and Naomi are quite a team and were wonderful and very helpful. Kathryn had great ideas as far as decorating and worked great with my colors. A month before the wedding, my caterer had bailed on me and her and Naomi got me all set up with their catering services immediately (which were reasonably priced). They made my wedding day absolutely worry free. I didn't have a rehearsal and Kathryn helped to make sure that everyone understood where to go and that things ran smoothly. I was just amazed at their overwillingness to step up and help fill in the gaps. My wedding day was perfect in my mind and I feel as though The Country Abbey played a huge role in making this happen.

Everything went according to plan. The chapel is beautiful and the staff was very helpful. We had no real snags or problems throughout the process.

We were pleased with the abbey. The only complaint I have is that the person we meet with to discuss decorations with did not coordinate our wedding. The alter was not decorated like we had discussed. I feel that the decorations were not done b/c of communication problems. I bought the supplies for the alter and brought them to the abbey on rehearsal night but they were not used and I was given them back at the end of the day.

Loved The Country Abbey! As a matter of fact, a close friend of mine got married there a year before I did and I knew that was the place I wanted to get married! It was so beautiful!

Up until the day of my wedding, I would have agreed with the other reviews posted here. However, now that it has passed, I beg to differ. Sure, every time I emailed with a question, it was answered, and yes the staff was willing enough to let us come to the Abbey for things before the big day, as long as it was convenient for them. Did I like getting stood up for an appointment at the Abbey the one day I was in town and having to reschedule and make another 6 hour round trip to get things done? NO. Did I like being told three different policies from the three different staff members? NO. Was I happy the night of my rehearsal when I was told rather rudely not to worry about the decorations because they had all my preferences written down? NO. Especially not when I was asked less than ten minutes later what those preferences were that they supposedly had on file. And definitely not the day of my wedding when I discovered things were still wrong. We spent at least 45 minutes the morning of my wedding, while getting ready, trying to track down at least one of the staff members, since none of them were on the property, to fix the mistakes they had made setting up. When a staff member finally did make it back, she only corrected part of the problem, meaning I was left to walk down the aisle only to discover the altar decorated wrong and knowing that all of my pictures would have that in them to remind me for the rest of my life that she didn't listen. Money was taken out of the deposit for damages that were present before our ceremony, and we were charged for an extra half hour of set-up that was not stated at the time. When we stated these complaints in an email, we received an extremely rude and condescending reply in return. Customer service was completely lacking from the majority of the staff at the Abbey. Professionalism was basically non-existent. Staff members were not consistent with policies or appointments and didn't follow through on promises. I would not recommend the Abbey to anyone after the way my family and I have been treated after the wedding. It was completely inappropriate and uncalled for. I don't care who you are, you do not talk to people the way the staff at the Abbey has talked to us.

I also feel bad for the bride that had to deal with that. However, my experiences were different. The only thing was that I also had kind of a hard time finding a staff member on the wedding day. Worse things can happen, overall I would definetly recommend this place. They are so nice and flexible. They even kept things I left for like a month so I could pick them up. That is just nice.

I got the decorating package and was lucky to work with Elaine. She did such a great job and I had so many people tell me just how great everything turned out! Everyone that works at the Country Abbey is so nice! It is such a small town and a perfect place for a perfect occasion. I would not have changed anything!

I was recently married at the country Abbey on May 5, 2008. I would highly reccomend this location for the place to share in your special day. Everyone at the Abbey was so helpful and full of knowledge. Elaine and naomi were wounderful and took care of our every concern and need. It was a beautiful day and we recieved so many positive comments about the beauty of our wedding. It was nice to not have to worry about our decorating, which was done for us by the Abbey and turned out gorgeous. I have beautiful pictures for a lifetime to come, and a special day at the Country Abbey that I will never forget. This is def a place to check out, if you want old country charm in a laid back setting at a reasonable price that wont brake your bank account. Thank you to everyone at the Coutnry Abbey for a day I will never forget.

Our wedding at the Country Abbey was everything we had imagined our wedding day would be! Elaine did an outstanding job with our deocrating package! She was full of great ideas, very detailed oriented, and did everything that way we wanted. We could not have been happier with the outcome. We hired the reception staff and they were very professional and always one step ahead. We would highly recommend using the reception staff here, it's very affordable and worth every cent! From our very first meeting, until the day of our wedding the Country Abbey made us feel special and our wedding day went so smoothly!! The chapel is so charming and romantic-you need to check this place out!

The Country Abbey was perfect for us. It was beautiful, in our budget, and just perfect. The staff is amazing. I did the decoration package. Well worth the money. Elain did a beautiful job. I still cant believe I had such a beautiful wedding. Everything worked out perfect and smoothly.

The Country Abbey was amazing-Naomi, Elaine and Jennifer were awesome. It was 12 weeks before our wedding when we found that our destination wedding plans were not going to be honored by the hotel due to Mardi Gras. My, then fiance John knew that I was going to panic-he called Naomi, she met with us the next morning. She worked with our schedule and things that had already been planned. She was in touch and helped me by reminding me of the little things that I probably would have forgotten. Elaine was awesome-she knew exactly what I was talking about each time I mentioned an idea. She put it all together-the first time I saw the alter, it was breath taking. She is awesome. And, Jennifer made sure our wedding day was about us. I would recommend The Country Abbey to anyone. It is a very intimate setting for a wedding. They personalize your wedding as if they have known your for years. My pictures turned out awesome. The Country Abbey is a wonderful place to have a wedding. The service was outstanding. It is a beautiful place. My wedding was perfect. It ran so smoothly. I would recommend The Country Abbey to all my friends.

We enjoyed very much having our wedding here! We had 125 guests approx. and this venue was homey, and provided exactly what we needed. It had a changing room for the bride and a separate room for the bridesmaids. There were 2 rooms for the groom and his attendants. The hall had beautiful stained glass window panels and a nice stage area so that the wedding party was raised up at the ceremony commenced.
Another part of this facility that we enjoyed also renting the small house next to the Country Abbey. It was a cozy little place to have the rehearsal dinner and convenient since it was within walking distance. We had an amazing time here!

My husband and I fell in love with The Country Abbey the moment we walked in for our tour. Naomi was very flexible, she was even willing to meet us very late in the evening. Naomi, Elaine and our reception staff did an amazing job. Elaine was our wedding coordinator and solved problems before I even knew they exsisted and anticipated our needs. It is all the small things that they do that makes everything so wonderful, they take care of everything down to the smallest detail. Our ceremony went beautifully, everything was perfect! We had our rehearsal dinner at the Seely house, which was very cute and cozy and very reasonably priced. We reccommend The Country Abbey to any couple that is looking for a romantic, stress free place to get married. Although we did not use their decorating package and catering services, I have attended weddings there that have and it was amazing, wish I had chosen to use those services as well!

Everything was neat and tidy, and we had no problems whatsoever.
