Okay, so we did not use a planner at all because expenses were getting up there. My friend who is a decorator helped me get things started. (which I am eternally grateful) But let me tell you about April Dorsey from The D-Tales. Amazing! So easy to work with, professional and flexible. She has a lot of great ideas and a beautiful attitude. She seemed excited to work on the wedding and I would have been more than happy to work with her. You definitely get what you pay for with her. She is not expensive by any means. My total budget was a max of $6,000. Sadly, that did not leave room for this lovely lady. I can't wait to show her pictures of what we were able to accomplish. It was amazing and breathtaking and could have only been overwhelmingly had she the opportunity to help out. Best of luck April. It was wonderful meeting you.

April did a fabulous job with coordinator our day-of-events. She was extremely on point with every detail. Things absolutely ran smoothly because of her punctuality and ability to control the utter chaos that goes along with a wedding. April also took the time to meet with myself and my husband face-to-face before the big day so that we could make sure she knew all the necessary details. If you are looking for someone who will be able to take care of your event planning so that you can actually enjoy the event yourself, definitely go with the D-Tales!

I have to say that working with April was a pleasure! The wedding coordinator at the Hilton of Daytona and April both made our wedding possible because we received some very unexpected news- a baby!! My husband and I are thrilled, but this pushed our wedding up by 4.5 months or so and April and her team made it possible!! She was always available when I needed her and I had her do everything for me!! She had most of the stress on her shoulders and I really wasn't stressed at all. April was the only vender for our wedding that we can honestly say we were sorry we used. She was awful! everything from beginning to end about her was completely scattered. She did not listen to anything we said. Everyone complained about her even the groomsmen. During the rehearsal she insisted that the groomsmen stand on the left (if you are facing the alter) and the bridesmaids on the right. We argued about this..... even the photographer told her that she was wrong. She never handed out the wedding coloring books for the little children at the wedding like she was supposed to. Everything she did was half way.... there was no professionalism at all. I would save my money and never use this person.

Bonny was an excellent wedding coordinator! Bonny and her team at D-Tales handled every situation with grace, enthusiam and great professionalism. She kept me calm in the most stressful of situations. You cannot have a wedding without amazing help, and Bonny was just what I needed. I recommend her services for any event.

Bonny Bailey was my coordinator for my wedding. I liked planning my wedding and even with all the planning I did I was not able to execute my ideas. That is where Bonny came into place. I had some trouble with the previous owner of my venue and Bonny assured me everything would be okay. She even had a backup plan just in case! Bonny was always there for me whenever I needed it. She came to whatever meetings I asked her to attend. She knew all the other vendors that were at my wedding which was very helpful for communication weeks before the wedding. Bonny would do anything I would ask and always with a smile on her face. She even went above all my requests – like making a rehearsal and a day of timeline for my bridal party and vendors. When it came to the day of my wedding Bonny was on top of everything. She was there before I arrived and had everything set up for me. I know most people tell Brides to enjoy every moment because it flies by and as much as I agree with that statement there is one more suggestion I would tell all Brides….Hire a coordinator, and hire Bonny at that! Your wedding day only comes once and all the planning leads up to that moment and having someone like Bonny to execute your plan flawlessly is ideal. You want to be a beautiful bride, not a bridezilla. Bonny is a caring, understanding coordinator who will accomplish everything with such an ease. I never give perfect scores on everything but I just couldn't help it with April at The D-Tales. I hired her for the Day Of service, but she has been a part of my plans since the beginning. She answered any questions and suggested vendors to me when I was stumped. I had a very unusual wedding with a Klingon Theme that involved costuming, prosthetics and a makeup crew. On the day of, April took charge of an unwieldy group of costumers and actors and marshalled us into a good semblance of an excellent production. She kept me sane and fed and overall enjioyed being a part of the process and a friend. I highly recommend The D-Tales for any wedding planning!

Wedding planning philosophy: If your wedding planner is as excited about your wedding as you are -- you are in luck!

This is exactly the energy that April brings to wedding planning.

My husband and I had a somewhat unique situation given that he lives in Victoria, B.C., Canada and I live in Seattle and the wedding was in Cocoa Beach, FL. I initially contacted April about our pending simple (25 people, low-key) beach wedding.

Here is part of her reply:

"I think your needs are quaint and I feel that my planning and prices would be way more that i would ever suggest to a bride. I am more than happy to give you wonderful suggestions and ideas but i am going to refer you to a better option...."

"Like I said, I dont think you need my services for what you are looking for (who on earth turns away business??? I do!!!!!! But only because I want your day to be exactly what you want it to be!!!!)

OK....that speaks volumes.

So, I took her advice and found someone who could both help plan and perform the wedding ceremony. After about two weeks of working with another Orlando-based wedding planner I started gettting this feeling -- this feeling that something just wasn't right. It's not that the planner did anything wrong, rahter, my intuiting was speaking volumes to me. What to do?

I called April.

She said, "Girl, listen to that inside voice, it's never wrong."

And so, I fired my wedding planner.

April then stepped in and offered her services for our wedding that was to be far from the stunning and elaborate weddings she has created and perfected for other clients. As simple as our wedding was, it was stunning. It was elaborate. It was simple.

She arranged the most gorgeous bouquet for myself and maid of honor and a cake which complemented the flowers along with arranging for catering, paper goods, orange juice, plenty of chamagne and transportation from Cocoa Beach back to the EO Inn and Spa in Orlando.

I can't say enough. I met up with her the evening before for delivery of all the wedding goodies and accents. I wish I had had more time to spend with her.

Our wedding was PERFECT. I mean PERFECT. Because my husband and I live so far away from Florida I was worried and didn't want to be the frantic bride trying to get everything together and thus neglecting time with our families Even when I did feel a bit frantic, April reminded me to breathe. And so I would stop and breathe. And then I'd feel better.

April really stepped out of the bounds of her norm to help with our wedding plans. I could carry on with accolades for Ms April but I think you get it. Oh, one last thing. She is SO personable and genuine. She felt like a sister or best friend who simply wanted everything to be perfect for me. And it was.

And so, without reservation, I highly suggest April Dorsey and her D-Tales team.

Bonny was such a stress reliver through out the whole process. You think that you can handle it and I tell you what I thought I had everything done. My siblings and I hosted a vow renewal ceremony for my parents in Orlando, Florida. And Bonny of The D-Tales was our event planner. She was amazing. She had everything under control and was wonderful at the ceremony. You really don't know how much you need an event planner until you hire one. Bonny was an invaluable resource for us during the finishing process. The ceremony was perfect. And all our family and friends were very impressed with how smoothly everything went. All in all hiring The D-Tales was the single best choice we made in planning our parents vow renewal ceremony. I learned about the D-tales at a bridal show. I walked by and just asked them a question concerning my colors and what type of venue would work for me. I gave them my two colors and was given a venue that was to the T of what I wanted, later on that week I went to the Rix lounge at Disney and booked my red and black initmate wedding. My wedding planner (Bonnie) was awesome. I was the bride who hated talking on the phone, plus I was taking law classes and being a full time mom, it just wasn't possible. But Bonnie stayed right there with me. I swear we both were night owls because I could be finishing up my homework at 1Am and email her and 5 min later she would be replying. I even had a break down at the try on for the guys tux and I texted her and she replied without hesitation. The day of my wedding was flawless, she had things ready and stuff that I couldn't even think of like red ribbons on my huge favor boxes tied with a bow. She knew all the line dance songs to request for the DJ and made sure I Ate lol. Her one thing was that I was to leave the stressing up to her and I did just that, if I needed her I would look up and she was right there. That Night she was there for me and it felt like it. I texted her the day after the wedding because no one was sending me pics of the tables and the way the reception looked and I couldn't wait till the actual photos came in and again at 1am she replied with some pics. She is outstanding and I highly recommend her and the D-tales.

Words can not express our gratitude and appreciation towards April and her amazing team. Our wedding was perfect and we owe that to April. I knew from our initial meeting that she was exactly what we needed in a day of coordinator. Not only was she fantastic on the day of but she was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. We were hesitant to hire a wedding coordinator because our daughter had done such a wonderful job planning and organizing. However, as the wedding drew near we found there were minor details that would be distracting and might take away from our ability to enjoy the big day. Through out the night she was there when needed & let us do our thing to make the party happen & the clients happy. She delegates well & is always there when you need her to be. Couldn't ask for more! I'll work with her any chance I get & you should too.

April is one of the most fun and professional coordinators in the industry. She is a down to earth person with awesome ideas.

I have always enjoyed working with April (The D-Tales). She really did an amazing job this past weekend so I wanted to take the time to write about her amazing attention to details (Irony? I don't think so!) The work she did for the event Saturday night was nothing short of incredible, and everyone was able to enjoy themselves, knowing she was 100% aware of what the clients needed as the night progressed. If you want it done right, call April, and listen to her as well- she thinks beyond the usual! Also, as the plans were set, and as party plans change unexpectedly, as they usually do, she adjusted as necessary without stress which is BIG! A+++++ to The D-Tales!

April is amazing. She worked all day until the early morning the next day and never complained. She was extremely organized and got the job done. She made the event an incredible success. She's fun, energetic, and great at her job. Chris and I can't wait to do another event with her :)

April Dorsey is everything you could ask for out of a wedding coordinator. She is organized, creative, attentive, and completely on top of everything.
