I am reviewing Jan because she gave us the John Winntet for our wedding and they were absolutely amazing. Such a perfect sound - amazing Horah, and great ability to read the crowd. book them!

We worked with DJ Aaron. He was fantastic! He met with us two weeks before the big day, and we mapped it all out. We felt like he struck a perfect balance: he never sacrificed music for info or announcements during the reception, but he still managed to get everyone in a room when we were cutting cake, making intros, etc. Would absolutely work with him again. Thank you, Aaron!

DJ Steve from the Davis Event Group provided DJ services for our wedding at the Hotel Monaco Alexandria. Our experiences from selecting our DJ through the event itself was easy and professional. Their website was informative and we were able to make our choice of DJ from a personal recommendation. The information questionnaire was simple to complete and Steve Thomas and his team were very responsive to special requests and questions. The day of, DJ Steve met every expectation and executed our ceremony music just as I had imagined it. He took the time to talk to us and made recommendations for ensuring our evening went as smooth as possible. He even accommodated a last minute request of ours! I will recommend Davis Event Group and especially DJ Steve to anyone for their professionalism and quality of service.

I cannot say enough about Jan. She is the best! She cares so much about her clients and the brides she works with. The rest of her team are a pleasure to work with as well. Jan used to be a band leader so knows exactly what to look for and how to help you a pick a band that is right for you. We ended up booking BroadSound for our wedding band. Jan referred them to us after our original band fell though. They were the BEST! It was meant to be the whole time. They played top 40, ballads, latin, you name it! Aaron the band leader was perfect, and felt the crowd to adjust the music accordingly. I told Aaron what the type of music I did not want to play but told him I trusted his judgement on what to play other than my small "do not play list". He executed the music perfectly. My guests commented it was one of the best wedding bands they have ever heard. A plus is the band was willing to learn our first dance song MORE for us which was not on their playlist. I could not have asked for a better wedding band. I barely left the dance floor all night....we partied until 1 am.

We also booked our ceremony music and videographer through David Event. I am embarrassed to say that I did not even meet Sue, from the string trio, the night of the wedding. She was however very helpful via email prior to the wedding helping me to pic music for the ceremony and the cocktail hour. David Harris, our videographer was great too. I will have to amend this review once I receive the final video but the demo's look very professional and well done. He was punctual, friendly and stayed a little late to get the shot of the cake cutting. He worked with our Rabbi to get right shots of our ceremony and stayed in the background through out the event. We cannot wait to get the final product.

We were extremely satisfied with working with Jan Davis. I had never booked a band before and did not really know what to consider. Jan led us through the process and helped in narrowing down our choices, based on our desires, so that the decision was much easier. I liked dealing with the owner of the agency and she was super responsive in getting back to us.

The band that we booked, Encore, was more than terrific, they transfomed our celebration into an amzing party. It was so much fun and we got so many comments that it was the best reception that they had been and it is large extent due to Encore. Everyone was on the dance floor. Before the wedding, I was not 100% sure that we had a partying crowd that would appreciate Encore, but they erased all doubts! They played great music, engaged the crowd and showed great judgement throughout the evening. This was one of our splurge items for the wedding, but in terms of value, it was the best decision that we made. It made my daughter's evening magical and I know that the dancing at the wedding is something that will be very memorable to all the attendees.

I thought she served as a fair intemeidary between us and the band and gave us much helpful advice in the negotioation. We definitely made the right choice in putting our trust in Jan.

Aaron was the best dj!! I was worried that a dj would not get people dancing as much as a band would but I was wrong. Aaron put together the best play list and I was asked by a bunch of the guests for a copy of the list. He was fun and relaxed to work with and even cut some of the songs to fit our dances. Ask for Aaron!

We had DJ Steve (Steve Hershberger) DJ for our wedding this past weekend and he was great. Everyone at the Davis Event Group was extremely professional and helpful. DJ Steve kept the party lively and guests entertained.

Working with Davis Event Group was one of the best decisions my fiance and I made during our wedding planning. They were so helpful with all of our planning, very responsive and worth every penny. Jan picked the perfect DJ and ceremony musician for our event! Our ceremony guitarist, Eric, was great! Our DJ, DJ Aaron, was great! He kept everyone dancing (and we had a wide range of demographics). DJ Aaron and Jan were very patient with us while we were dealing with a photographer emergency, instead of giving them the critical reception information they needed. Jan is professional and really makes you feel like you are the most important wedding on her busy schedule. Thank you Jan, Aaron and Eric for everything!!

Steve was extremely professional, affable and flexible. We had a few unexpected things pop up during the reception and Steve handled them wonderfully. He even nailed the pronunciation of some of the harder names in our wedding party the first time around! We would recommend him as highly as possible!

I went through Davis Event Group and chose DJ Aaron as our DJ. He was very nice, accommodating and friendly. He was as outgoing or as laid back as I needed him to be and if he didn't have a particular song I wanted to hear, he made sure he had it by the wedding date. Easy to work with.

We had a rockin' good time with DJ Kathy from Davis Event Group. From the planning stage through the execution, our experience was outstanding. Jan was very responsive to our initial inquiry and helped us set up a meeting with DJ Kathy about 6 months before the wedding. It was also easy to work with Jan on the business side of things and focus on the music with the DJ. Kathy came down and met us near our apartment, and we immedietly felt a good connection. Her low-key personality was just the right note for our event. It was particularly helpful that Kathy had previously worked our venue (Hollin Hall) and had built a good rapport with the venue staff. She provided music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception. We had a wide range of musical styles (classical/opera, showtunes, and 1970s dance music), and she handled it all well. There was a small hiccup as the bride walked down the aisle, but she handled it well and kept the ceremony moving. She even purchased our favorite recordings so that we had just the right music. At the reception, she was very flexible with our rather silly requests and random announcements, and she kept the party going with her song sequencing. The father of the bride recorded a custom song for the father/bride dance, which Kathy easily incorporated into the events. Overall, it was a pitch-perfect event!

We booked the band Spectrum and a string quartet (for the ceremony and the cocktail hour) for our daughter's wedding. I cannot say enough about how fabulous both groups were. Spectrum was absolutely amazing -- they are gifted musicians who were, prior to and during our event, responsive to every nuance of our needs. The string quartet was also outstanding. Of course we had done our research ahead of time and knew of Spectrum's reputation, but we were beyond pleased. Thank you, Jan!

DJ Kathy was a fantastic DJ, and made our wedding special and so much fun. She was exactly the type of DJ we were looking for--in the background, yet there to direct things. She was the ultimate professional, played great songs, kept the party going, and no one wanted to leave at the end of the night. We got many compliments on how great the DJ was, how people could hear each other during dinner, and the music was just the right volume. She played the perfect mix of songs. Thanks again for being such a huge part of the day!! I would highly recommend The Davis Event Group and especially DJ Kathy to DJ your next event.

We were highly pleased with the Davis Event Group. They were super easy to reach over email and were very flexible. Our DJ was Steve Hershberger, he was fantastic! Just the right DJ for our wedding reception. He is highly qualified and loves what he does! We couldn't of asked for a better DJ!

We went with Davis Event Groups and they were fine. DJ Kathy was a good one to have because she is familiar with River Farm. She played all the music that we asked and steered clear of the "do not plays". Our main complaint was that she was in the house and while we were in the tent we were unable to hear any of the announcements she made. (Not her fault, but once we realized the problem she could have been more proactive in making herself heard more easily.) Kathy was happy to work with us on suggestions for our "key songs" and even shortened our first dance song to a more manageable length. She hooked up a mic for our officiant without any trouble, which was greatly appreciated. She was a very nice, normal person to have in charge of the entertainment portion of your evening!

Wow! I didn't bash this vendor at all. I said DJ Kathy was great and recommended them on this website. I guess not giving 5 stars warrants a catty, condescending response from the owner? I simply thought since it was a smaller wedding, the DJ could have walked out into the tent (without the mic) to make the one or two important announcements. I do, in fact, understand how a wireless mic works! :) I still think DJ Kathy would be a great addition to any wedding reception, but Davis Events' response leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth.

We were just so happy with how DJ Steve read our crowd and played a perfect mix of music. He had everyone dancing the entire evening. There were just enough slow songs to take a breathe. He ws also the perfect speaker, announcing all that needed to be said in a fun and entailing manner without being too much of a presence. I guess I could say he had a perfect balance. Everyone commented on how much fun they had at our reception and I think DJ Steve had a lot to do with that!

We were thrilled with the performance by Encore. The dance floor was never empty and our guests sang every song with the band. Encore was talented, professional, and overall, fun! Jan Davis was very helpful in booking them

The Davis Event Group was a preferred music vendor for our wedding at Top of the Town. They did an excellent job and Jan, our contact, was very helpful. Steve was assigned as our DJ. He did a very good job. He was on time, professional and played really fun music for the reception.

My only tiny complaint is that he was a bit delayed making the introductions for our reception toasts. However, overall, he did an excellent job.

We used the Davis Event group for our wedding DJ, and they sent us DJ Kathy. She was perfect--a total pro, ready to roll with the punches and great and judging the mood of the room. Ask for Kathy!

We worked with DJ Aaron Hahn. He was great! We gave him very little direction about musical choices hoping that he would be able to read the crowd better than us and make good decisions about what music would get people up and dancing. We said we liked motown and sinatra. Our party was hopping! We told him we wanted the dancefloor full and he kept it that way. It was a great party!

We booked DC Fusion through the Davis Event Group for our wedding - they were an absolutely stellar band. Great mix of music and we got tons of compliments from the musicians in my family about how amazing they were. Our only regret is that we can't get married again, and book DC Fusion once more!

The Davis Event Group provided us with a great DJ on the second try. The first DJ we had issues with, but Jan and Rob made up for that DJ big time by giving me a discount and providing me with a new and awesome DJ. They were very responsive and got back to me right away with questions I had. They were great!

the band was fantastic, had everyone up on their feet, great cocktail music as well. only glitch was that bridal party was not announced in sequencial order even though a list was given to him, but it became a joke and all ended fine. i would highly recommend them. most communication went through jan . the band was easy to work with when it came to special songs. thanks again

Jan Davis and our band Full Circle were amazing! We've gotten a million raving reviews about how awesome Full Circle was. Jan was great throughout the entire process. She gave candid opinions on the different bands based on my preferences. I would highly recommend getting in contact with Jan for your upcoming wedding.

Our DJ was Aaron Hahn. All I wanted for our wedding was for people to be on the dance floor having a great time, and Aaron made that possible. He met with us and gave us much needed guidance on our schedule and potential music selections, putting us at ease about the day. The day-of, he helped us with our processional, kept us on schedule, and he played the best music that kept the dance floor jumping throughout the night. We felt so fortunate to have him as our DJ and received a ton of compliments. Aaron was great!

After contacting a few other companies, and not finding what I wanted, I turned to Jan who suggested the perfect band for us on the first try! Jan made our decision really easy...she was quick to respond, easy to work with and flexible. The band we selected was fantastic! Through Jan Davis Entertainment, we booked Black Tie (a band) for my wedding this past winter and it was the BEST decision we made throughout the entire wedding planning process! The band was amazing, guests are still talking about how great they were!

They had the dance floor packed the entire night and used good judgment as to which songs the crowd was responding to and would adjust their set list as needed. They had great energy and truly made our wedding reception what it was - fabulous!

At the end of the night, they asked me and my husband to stand on stage with them as the crowd sang along with them a song about saying goodnight not goodbye, it was the perfect end to our evening and is something that I will always remember about our wedding day.

I recommend Black Tie to ANYONE looking for a band that will impress guests for years to come! They are worth EVERY penny, and more!

The wedding was ver a month ago and people are still raving about the band. I hire Jan Davis any time I needed a band!

Jan Davis worked with me to find the perfect entertainment for my wedding reception. The band was professional and their music was amazing. Jan helped me understand all that goes into picking the right entertainment. My father wrote a song and performed it with the band and it was fabulous!

Black Tie was fantastic. We had a very wide age range of people at our wedding including children, twenty somethings, and a few from the Greatest Generation. Black Tie provided three hours of non stop music and the dance floor was never empty. We had only one problem that evening: the bar bill exceed my budget many time over...BUT IT WAS WORTH IT. My daughter called her evening the "Magical Perfect Night"

Juleen from Jan Davis responded directly (called me, actually) to a post I put up on Wedding Wire looking for some musicians and a DJ within a very strict budget. I'm so happy she did!

I had no idea what I was doing when I was trying to sort out the music situation for our wedding, and we needed to pull things together in about 4 months. I was worried about getting an obnoxious DJ who wanted to be the star of the show, or only play the music they wanted to play, and had no clue how to find a good string trio that didn't sound like a middle school ensemble. Juleen hooked us up with DJ Kathy and she was really, really awesome! We sent her a long list of songs we liked, and she provided the music for the dinner hour and of course the dancing. She kept to what we liked (and didn't try to convince us to do any "participation dances" which we hate), with a few requests from beloved family members worked into the mix, and also did a great job of keeping us on time. She managed to do this all with a classy demeanor and was never once obnoxious or over the top. She also met with us in person a few weeks before the wedding, and had a whole binder of info about our wedding all ready to go. Very professional, very punctual, very classy.

Juleen also helped us hire a string trio for our ceremony and cocktail hour. Although we were getting photos done during the cocktail hour, and so didn't get to hear much of that, the music for the ceremony was exactly as we requested (and I was a bit nervous since I wanted a cello solo for the music I walked down the aisle to; that, too, was perfect). I was a bit worried since we had little contact with the string trio before the wedding (I spoke with the leader about three days before), but they were excellent.

My only reason for the 4 stars for responsiveness is that on a couple occasions, I sent emails that must've gotten lost in the shuffle. Phone calls seemed to be more effective, but in the big scheme of things, everyone was quite responsive and easy to communicate with.

If you want a classy event, let Jan Davis help you with your entertainment! We had a hassle-free, worry-free experience, and would gladly recommend them to anyone. They save you time by do the screening for you (and already having a cadre of talented DJs and musicians at their disposal), so all you have to do is tell them what you want, and they'll make sure the DJ and musicians are high-quality professionals suitable for your big day.

Jan Davis was a PLEASURE to work with from start to finish! I reached out to Jan while searching for a band for my wedding, and she helped me find and secure the perfect band/DJ combination (Prime Time) -- they were amazing, and all of my guests are still raving about them! She also coordinated a fabulous pianist for my cocktail hour.

I can't emphasize enough how great Jan was to work with. She was so helpful, always responsive, and quick to address and answer any question I had! I would recommend her to anyone!

DJ Mike Blaufield was fantastic! We were extremely pleased with his professionalism and willingness to give us exactly what we wanted for both our ceremony and reception music. He was very patient, responsive and had a great personality. Mike made my husband and I feel at ease and confident that all would go smoothly on our big day and it did!! We debated a band versus DJ for a while and we're so happy we went with Mike! We highly recommend him!

Excellent resource for quality wedding entertainment.

We hired Jan Davis Entertainment to provide the ceremony music, cocktail music and DJ music for our daughter's wedding held at GW River Farm. They were wonderful to deal with from start to finish.

We first hired DJ Mike Blaufeld. Mike is classy, responsive, and very professional and really knows his music. We contacted some other DJs and you just got the sense they were not very professional. You had the feeling you might hire them, maybe they would show, maybe not, or maybe they would send someone else the day of the wedding. We wanted to know who would be there on the day of the wedding.

From the minute we talked with Mike we knew he was the real deal. My daughter and her fiancé met with him and other DJs and there was no question who they wanted – DJ Mike. My daughter’s husband is himself an amateur DJ and knew immediately DJ Mike was who he wanted for the reception.

Mike made them feel comfortable right away and helped them with the overall planning – the dance sequence, who was to be introduced, when etc. Mike served as the MC for the evening and was wonderful. There was not one slip the entire evening. It is hard to get everything to run so smoothly and this is totally thanks to all of the preparations DJ Mike did before the wedding with my daughter and her now husband. We could not have asked for more.

The next day at the Sunday Wedding Brunch that was all anyone could talk about – what a great time they had dancing and how great the music was. Mike had a lot of competition with a gorgeous outdoor setting with a full moon overlooking the Potomac, But his music kept pulling everyone inside to the ballroom and they ended up “literally dancing in the windows,” behind shades, in front of shades. It was hilarious for all to see. Best entertainment of the night. Without a doubt some of the best photos and the video will be of the girls and guys up in the 5 huge windows dancing to DJ Mike’s music.

They also said how they liked that he did not talk and monopolize the time. He just played great music continuously, seamlessly having developed the music selections earlier with the bride and groom. Quite a wonderful, fun a night thanks to Mike!

Late in the wedding planning process, we again contacted Jan Davis as my daughter decided they did want ceremony music. We really did not know what to even ask for at that point. I dealt with Juleen Stacy who was wonderful. Through asking us a serious of questions she figured out what we wanted/needed & booked a fantastic group for us – Bruce Middle Group.

My daughter and her fiancé gave the final approval and worked with Bruce Middle and Juleen on the music selections. The group played before the ceremony, processional music and even sang. It was simply wonderful. The day was extremely hot and we had many guests commenting on how they were enjoying the music so much while waiting for the ceremony to begin that the heat was not a big issue. They also played afterwards during cocktail hour and again were wonderful. We feel very fortunate to have booked them thanks to Juleen’s help.

We are so glad we went with Jan Davis Entertainment. They are extremely nice to work with and we can recommend them highly.

We are SO happy we hired Jan Davis Entertainment for our wedding. We left finding a DJ to the last minute, as I was not sure I wanted one...having been to several weddings where the DJ totally ruined the vibe and did not listen to the bride/groom/wedding party regarding what music they wanted to hear. However, my fiance finally convinced me....and after interviewing a few companies around town, we settled on JDE (mostly based on their much more competitive price, and our discussion with Juleen, who was so much more laid-back than many of the other DJs/companies I talked to who were very "in-your-face" and even arrogant). Juleen at Jan Davis was extremely accommodating and helpful - recommending DJ Steve, after talking to us about what we wanted for our wedding.

DJ Steve was FABULOUS! Despite the short timeline before our wedding (we hired him 3 weeks before the date!) - he met with us on a Saturday at our house, talking through the kind of music we wanted, the vibe, etc. He was very professional, extremely cool, and we felt 100% confident that he would deliver what we wanted - and he absolutely did! There was never a lag on the dance floor - it was pumping all night, because he gauged the mood of our guests perfectly - switching between genres of music seemlessly (from Motown and oldies for the parents, to some fun cheesy 80s, to Top 40 dance tunes, to salsa/merengue, and even blending in some international music that I had provided him on a CD). Steve's Serato Scratch Live technology is also super-cool....I had fun guessing what song he was transitioning to, and it provided for an almost performance-like atmosphere. Everyone commented on how amazing the DJ was - and he did an extra encore set of songs at the very end of the night as people just did not want to leave the dance floor. Steve also provided the music for our ceremony, which was perfect.

I definitely recommend Jan Davis Entertainment. As I said above, I talked to several other companies who were charging more than 300% of what JDE charged me. So between JDE's value for cost, Juleen's professionalism and accommodating treatment of us, and the unbelievable party that DJ Steve provided for us - you would be hard-pressed to find better people to work with for your wedding.

Jan Davis was wonderful. We had DJ Steve who provided us with exactly the vibe we wanted to have at our wedding. People were on the dance floor all night long. We got several compliments on what an amazing DJ we had. He was not cheesy or showy, but spoke when he needed to, was super cool and seemed into his job, which was great to see.

Jan Davis was absolutely fantastic. We had a limited budget and they worked with us and found exactly the type of band we had wanted, at the budget we requested. So professional, so easy for us to plan, and I can only but reccomend them to all who wish to have a great band for a special event. The band was so professional also. We booked a wonderful harpist with Jan Davis for our ceremony. Even though there was a minor issue (on their end) with the first harpist scheduled to play at our wedding, they were quick in letting us know the problem and already had another harpist lined up for us. Very professional and great communication!

We worked with Juleen Stacy of Jan Davis. She was wonderful to work with. We were looking for a truly unique wedding band and she found us the Jangling Reinharts from Jan's sister agency, Sam Hill. Juleen was great at listening to what we wanted and finding a great band. She also booked us a string trio that was lovely and advised us on the schedule for the wedding day.

As for the band, The Jangling Reinharts... They are the most awesome wedding band ever! We wanted a band that played cool cover songs, classic rock and got the crowd moving and they more than exceeded our expectations. They played everything from The Beatles to Journey to Guns N'Roses. Everyone was up on the dance floor the whole night and I would say the band (along with our excellent venue) was the key to our completely awesome wedding. I can't recommend them enough-- and their prices were much more reasonable than most of the stuffy, "wedding bands" in DC. We haven't stopped getting complements on the band.

We were fortunate to find DJ Mike to mc our beach wedding ceremony and reception at Rehoboth Beach this past July. His extreme professionalism, flexibility and overall quality of service was outstanding. He took care of everything including setting up music and mics on the beach for our ceremony. DJ Mike welcomed the daunting task of melding our varied musical tastes, ranging from country to hiphop, to satisfy our family and friends from age 2 to age 90. He worked with us to include our taste in music, suggested perfect selections for us when needed, and also kept the party going and guests dancing at the reception. We were most impressed by his thorough preparation and communication with us prior to the big day. We highly recommend DJ Mike for his outstanding DJ service. He was a pleasure to work with and certainly provided a memory that exceeded our expectations. Thanks again Mike!

One of our biggest concerns for our wedding was finding not only a good DJ but a great DJ. A DJ who would be able to handle the coordination of all reception activities, from cocktail hour to last song. However, most of my worry was about the time in between first dance and last song. We wanted to have everyone on the dance floor having a great time. And DJ Mike provided all of that and more!
We spoke to DJ Mike on the phone ~4 times prior to the event and email him periodically. He was very professional throughout the entire process, from our first conversation to thank you / congratulations card we had waiting for us when we returned from our honeymoon. DJ Mike provided us with a great rate especially considering he had to set up 2 systems. We were also quite pleased with his musical tastes. We had a bunch of people say to us that Mike was great, that night and when we returned. As we wrote to Mike, you know people are having a good time when there's break dancing on the dance floor!

The Rock String Quartet, booked by Jan Davis Entertainment, was spectacular. JD Entertainment found exactly what we were looking for for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. The Quartet was a classy, contemporary touch to our wedding.

Jan was great to work with... her recommendations, her enthusiasm... and the band was a great selection!

Wonderful experience-Jan provided great talent and made booking and our wedding band easy and stress free!

Jan was super responsive and provided us with many great DJ's to choose from. All of her staff were wonderful to work with through the contracting process and her DJ was very accommodating of all of our wishes. We would use Jan and her DJ's again in a heartbeat.

I have nothing but huge accolades for DJ Mike! Our wedding was a cold, rainy November evening, and DJ Mike helped make it the party of the year. You name it (age, background, musical taste), they were dancing. The dance floor was packed all night, and not because of cheesy songs (YMCA, Macarena, etc, which I placed on my "do not play" list and which DJ Mike completely respected), but because DJ Mike has an amazing ability to read a crowd and figure out what will get people out on the dance floor. The dinner hour music was awesome (sort of Sinatra "plus") and then the dancing was fantastic.... a mix of just great dance music plus some stuff he really tailored for our preferences and for our guests. DJ Mike is fabulous and will make your wedding (or whatever event) fantastic!!

DJ Mike was fantastic! He was extremely professional and responsive from start to finish! It was a pleasure working with him, the initial consultation was great. We exchanged creative ideas. We benefited from his guidance and working knowledge. He kept communication open at all times by sending a friendly email or phone call. At the reception, our entire group of 150 guest were on the dance floor, thanks to DJ Mike. With over 25 introductions of a diverse group, DJ Mike was committed to the correct pronunciations of everyones names. This ensured each of our attendants was given the proper recognition and thanks for celebrating our special days with us! The selection of music was well suited for a wedding. He catered to all our needs. The quality he offers was well worth the affordable price! THANK YOU SOO MUCH DJ MIKE!!!

The service is fantastic and you have a wide variety of DJ's to choose from based on price, etc. We used DJ Rob and he was amazing. I was very nervous that any DJ we booked would be on the mic too much and make it super cheesy. This was not the case at all. He was very good about slipping in to the background. I gave him some guidance but for the most part it was he who selected the music based on what people were dancing to and not dancing to. Jan herself is extremely professional and is always on top of everything. I highly recommend this vendor.

We hired Doctor's Orders through Jan Davis Entertainment and I can't say enough about how exceptional they were!!! Very talented, high energy, really able to read the crowd and very gracious in accomodating some special requests. They were so much fun!

Jan Davis Entertainment helped set us up with someone who fit our needs, DJ Mike. We are so grateful because DJ Mike was AMAZING. He was a totally friendly guy and very professional. He took our requests very seriously and also made good recommendations to us about how to structure our reception, how much music could be played, and how to get people dancing, all of which made the reception flow very smoothly. Our friends and family told us that the reception was one if not the best that they had ever attended, and DJ Mike was a great reason for this! The dance floor was packed the whole night and after we left, my dad had to pay DJ Mike to stay another hour or so above and beyond our contract because people were having so much fun! He has a great personality, very tactful, enthusiastic and optimistic. He also worked directly with our reception venue to work out the technical set-up details which made it easy for us. His style is to be the unobtrusive backbone of the happiness and fun of your special night. All in all he is awesome and I would highly recommend him and Jan Davis Entertainment!

Jan was easy to communicate with via email. We booked a string trio for the ceremony, a pianist for a cocktail hour, and a DJ for the reception dancing.

We were extremely happy with Jan Davis Entertainment and DJ Mike. Jan made everything so easy and pleasant, it had to be the easiest decision of the wedding. Mike was fantastic, kept people entertained and was very responsive and sensitive to request by the bride. We even had him do the announcing which was a day of change, and he no problem and did a great job.

We found Encore at a bridal showcase at the Patriot Center and were instantly impressed. We decided to go through Jan Davis instead of Washington Talent because on the whole she just seemed to be more responsive, and thought that the price was very reasonable given that we got a seven-piece band for four hours of dancing. Jan was friendly and very helpful at getting everything set up with the band.

As for Encore, they were fantastic. As a musician I was pretty picky about the band choice (finding a good female vocalist is particularly tricky) but they did not disappoint! Everyone loved their energy (the singers all mingled with the guests while performing) and their renditions of all the songs were great. They even learned our first dance song and accompanied me while I performed for my new husband :)

After searching for multiple vendors to provide music for my ceremony and reception, I came to the conclusion that there was no one out there that could provide me with exactly what I wanted for my wedding until I stumbled upon Jan Davis Entertainment. Being in the Military and stationed oversees the time window for planning a wedding in the United States was very small. I explained my difficult sitiuation to Jan and told her exactly what I envisioned for my wedding. Needless to say Jan flawlessly accomodated all my needs within minutes. Not only did Jan provide me with one of the best DJs in the Washington D.C. area (Mike), but she also provided me with an exceptional Trio for my wedding ceremony. I worked with Juleen Stacy and she was terrific and was able to give us live music at my wedding AND kept it within our tight budget. Juleen was also easy to get a hold of whenever I had any questions.

We had a lovely harpist and flautist for the ceremony and then had Barry Gurley at our reception.
They were all just wonderful -Barry kept it going and everyone loved how they sounded! A class act all the way! They even accommodated my request for me to sing a special song right before our first dance - I was even able to rehearse with Barry at his local gig on a couple of nights.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Jan Davis!! Jan is amazingly upbeat & sweet & really cares about making you feel like your wedding is the only one that matters. Kevin was an amazing DJ- he made our night perfect!! We had people from ages 10 to 70 dancing and singing all night long!! When we were looking for a DJ Kevin came out to our local coffee shop at the best time for us (9PM but he was completely flexible and had no problem coming out!) & we liked him right off the bat. He wasn't pushy or obnoxious like some other DJs we spoke with; he made us comfortable & really took the time to get to know us & the kind of wedding we both hoped for. He only does one wedding a day which turned out to be very important as we had some serious last-minute reshuffling of timing & he came out an hour early with additional outdoor equipment with no problem! He wasn’t one of those obnoxious Djs who turns the whole night into a lame comedy routine or one of those guys that’s really stuffy or bored. His upbeat attitude & amazing song selection really made our night. We still have people telling us that we threw a great party-not just a nice wedding, but a great party, which is exactly what we wanted.

Jan did a great job of helping us find the right band for our wedding based on our crowd, venue and tastes. The band Second Nature was incredible and the trio that played during the wedding and reception was great as well. Jan was proactive and responsive and asked the right questions to gauge our needs. It was a joy to work with Jan and very highly recommend her services.

Jan Davis did a great job of helping me find the perfect band. We were very pleased witht the professionalism and service we received. There was a miscommunication in getting our requested songs and break times to the band, so the communication and flexibility could have been better after we signed the contract. We have nothing but WONDERFUL things to say about Jan Davis Entertainment and the band Encore. They were amazing and we had a wonderful wedding because of them....I truly believe that. The band members took the time to understand what we wanted for our basic song list and then they just went off the audience's reaction to the songs for the rest of the night. They knew what our guests were enjoying and just kept it coming. It was perfect....and EVERYONE commented on the band. I would absolutely use them again, and again, and again.

Dealing with Jan (and her musicians and DJ) was a pleasure. She was quick to respond to calls and emails, and made the process very easy for us. If we were to do this again, we'd hire them again in a heartbeat. Our DJ, Kevin, was fabulous. The string trio played beautifully. We received many compliments about the music. Full Circle provided the music for our wedding reception. A really versatile band. We wanted everything from big band sound to rock, and they provided it all. They were truly professional, a no-hassle experience. You do have to book early, and the cost isn't cheap. But for an event as special as a wedding, they are terrific. They got everyone dancing! Many of our guests have told us how much fun the reception was, and they all mention the band as as a real highlight. Highly recommend.

I wanted to say thank you. All the musicians were fantastic. The quartet was elegant and the heralder added just the right touch. When Jen & I heard him we both melted and knew that the moment had arrived. We enjoyed the strings during the cocktail hour. They complemented perfectly with Oatland’s gardens.

Galaxy was great!! I cannot say enough about them. They had everyone on the dance floor. The night would have not been the party it was without them, They coordinated everything and so obliging with requests.

Jan Davis worked with me to secure the band Doctor's Orders - and they were fabulous. Everyone keeps talking about how wonderful our reception was and how fun the band made it. Juleen made sure we found a band that was exactly what we were looking for. We went with Doctors Orders and they were phenomenal. They had our entire party dancing all night long. The band leader worked with us the week before to ensure the schedule for our event went smoothly and that all of our personal requests were met. They even learned a new song for our first dance. The flute trio we had or our ceremony and cocktail hour was also wonderful.

Jan Davis is very professional and knows exactly how to make a reception flow. The music and mood was exactly what I was looking for and he really knows how to get people out on the dance floor.

I would give Jan Davis and her team the highest ratings in all areas!! I absolutely love them! I had worked with her for years doing corporate events so when my big day came, I knew where to call. She helped me screen through all the options for the music, the DJ, the venue, the food, etc. so I knew I would have the big day "team" I needed. Our photographers were SO phenomenal! I cannot tell you how many compliments we still get (two years after the wedding!) on our engagement photos and the rest of the wedding album. They were always where they needed to be to get some perfect shots. The DJ helped us ensure we were on task (first dance, father-daughter dance, cutting the cake, etc.) and as on time as possible. He was funny, entertaining, and kept the party going. The cake turned out so beautifully we didn't want to eat it. They are reasonably priced, are in constant contact with you, and are always willing to work in your little "unique" ideas (like Haitian-themed favors -- where can we find those?!) The entire Jan Davis team has such years of experience, they always know where to get what you are looking for or at least how to point you in the right direction. I cannot say enough great things about them and would recommend them to everyone without hesitation. If you give them the ball, they can run with it!

Jan Davis booked us Nightlife and people are still talking about them 2 years later. they were incredible and the place rocked. they ran a great program. Only complain is that they did not learn our first dance and missed a few requested songs.

The ceremony music was perfect and the small jazz group we had for the reception was terrific.
