The English Manor

I loved the English Manor. From the moment we sat with Lisa we knew we were going to book. The food, the service and the attention to every detail makes this them stand out. We were so impressed with everything. Lisa helped us find local vendors and had great suggestions. The food was amazing and they give you the leftovers after they offer guests seconds. During the cocktail hour there was so much food! It was beautiful and private, only one wedding at a time, which I wanted. The price included a lot, like centerpieces,cake and more.

I LOVE this place. From day 1 they have been amazing to work with. Every little question I ever had was always answered immediately. I once asked how tall the gazebo was, and within an hour they went out with a ladder to measure it for me. Who else who do that? I never had an anxiety with them. In fact the day of, I just let them take charge. The food is amazing and it came non-stop all night! Definately go to the tasting, we were a pain at ours, but because of a food allergy of mine, they were so quick to accomodate sauces, variations, etc. My father ended up in the hospital days before my wedding and had to miss it. Lisa the owner, took digital pictures from beginning to end and at the end of the night, she had blown up pictures and made a collage to give to my dad the same day. They really do care about you the bride and they make you feel as if you are the only one in the world.

All I can say is Wonderful..This place is beautiful and has all the bells and whistles. They add little touches that just sent us over the edge and I knew I would not be Happy unless my Recption was there. They only do one wedding at a time, so you are the only ones they are paying attention to. Everytime I go there I feel like a princess.

The minute my husband and I walked into the English Manor I knew that would be the place we would get married. Liz was excellent to work with and made the process easy. The reception room is beautiful with all the windows looking over the deck and garden. The food was excellent and since there is one wedding at a time it was great to be there with family and friends all by ourselves. Everyone is so helpful with the details to the wedding. My cake came out exactly how I wanted it to from the pictures we gave to Liz. I would highly recommend this reception hall.

I got married at the English Manor in September...let me start with the grounds. The grounds are spectacular! I had all of my pictures done at the English Manor and could not have asked for a nicer backdrop! The service from the first appointment to the time I pulled away the night of my wedding was amazing. They went above and beyond for me making all of my little requests as well as the large ones come true. I had a outdoor cocktail hour that was just the start of our fairytale wedding. I can't say enough about the English Manor except to make an appointment and be ready to fall in love with the place and the staff!

We got married in December 2009 and couldn't have picked a better venue! They make everything so easy you feel completely relaxed knowing everything will be taken care of. The food was amazing and there was TONS of it! From the cocktail hour to the main dinner everything was excellent. We have gotten so many compliments from our guests about everything. We mostly worked with Debbie and she was absolutely wonderful to us!! Getting married during the holidays was extra special because of all the beautiful Christmas trees and decorations everywhere. It was such a wonderful day and never once did we have any cares or worries. The English Manor is definitely the place for your dream wedding!!

The English Manor did an amazing job with our reception! We had the ceremony elsewhere but starting with the cocktail hour, they pulled off the perfect wedding. Joanne was a great Maitre'D and the entire staff pulled the wedding off flawlessly. All our guests continue to rave about the quality and amount of the food, and multiple people have told us it was the nicest wedding they have ever been too. Now I just wish I could be a guest at an English Manor wedding so I can enjoy the food as much as everyone else!

The English Manor is the most amazing place to have a wedding. I just got married on 5/18/12 and it was a night that I will never forget. From the moment I walked into the English Manor and met the owner, Lisa, I knew that I didn't need to look any further for venues.

The entire night was spectacular from the beautiful grounds to the delicious food, to our super attentive Maitre D Joanne. My guests have been raving about the food... all of the food... some were even too full to eat the Chateubriand that can be cut with a fork.

From the very beginning, it was all about the attention to detail that I loved at The English Manor. The fruit kabobs at the welcome station, the mashed potato bar at cocktail hour ( my favorite), the signature drink, the dessert plate trio, and the goodbye station that included cookies, coffee, tea and water as our guests left. Lisa and her staff really know how to make their clients happy.

I am one happy bride after choosing The English Manor, and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful wedding...

The English Manor was the perfect place for our wedding! I read many reviews that said how guests raved about the food and service- these brides were not lying! Everyone must have told me how beautiful and unique our wedding was. From the beautiful outdoor ceremony, to the unreal cocktail hour, and the stunning reception- every detail was perfect! My guests gushed over the food and LOVED the mini-ice cream cones passed out at the end of the night. Everything about our wedding was special and we have the English Manor to thank for that! They even gave us a thoughtful gift. Seriously, if you're planning a wedding in Monmouth/Ocean counties, the English Manor is the way to go!

I knew I wanted my wedding reception at The English Manor the first time we visited. The staff is all so nice and accomodating. The grounds are perfect for pictures. The site is unique because they only do one wedding at a time. We had the entire place to ourselves. I love that the cocktail hour and reception were in separate rooms. Also, people were easily able to go outside on the deck. Debbie was our maitre'd and she was great. Everything went so smoothly and my wedding was the best day of my life!

The best! They are detail-oriented and thorough... as well as very helpful with anything that one might need throughout the entire wedding planning process! Debbie, our maitre'd, in particular was INCREDIBLE! :)

Also, if you don't choose the English Manor for the setting- which is unbelievably beautiful- you will choose it for the food! Talk about amazing! Our guests were in food comas! So awesome!

Our wedding reception was incredible. The entire staff at English Manor is very friendly and helpful. They made our wedding so special and we are so happy that we decided to book there. The food is excellent, which is so important when you are hosting 100+ people for dinner. Debbie, the maitre'd, did an incredible job making sure that everything ran smoothly on our special day. Kelly was very helpful throughout our booking process and beyond. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone who wants a nice atmosphere, a fantastic cocktail hour, great service, and tasty food!

WONDERFUL WONDERFUL WONDERFUL!! I cant say enough great things about Debbie and the rest of the staff at the EM. everything from the moment we signed the contract was great-- they were always available to answer questions and help us plan our wedding, and the venue looked gorgeous! we got lucky with a sunny warm day, and the outdoor gardens were spotless and the flowers fantastic-- our photographs look amazing! the ballroom was wonderful, the food AMAZING, and the staff very attentive. Our friends and family have been raving about our wedding since then, and we know why!! thanks a million!

The English Manor was the first ceremony/reception venue we visited, and after looking at several more, nothing could top what we'd already seen there. Everyone that we dealt with was beyond amazing & we knew we were in good hands right from the very beginning. We ended up with a daytime wedding using one of their discounted packages, but we certainly never felt like "bargain" or "discount" clients--every single person we dealt with treated us like we were their most important client--who doesn't want that feeling for their wedding day?!

Debbie ran the show for or ceremony and reception & if anything went wrong, we certainly had no clue. She made sure that the entire day ran smoothly & she literally thought of every detail before we could ask about it. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous all throughout the year, and the colors for our fall wedding were perfect for us. Plus, the new ceremony site they finished fairly recently with the second gazebo is just beautiful!

The food was outstanding as well & the service truly impeccable (even with our large Irish families, somehow, the bartenders made sure there was never a big line at the bar). My husband and I felt catered to all afternoon--our server and Debbie made sure that our plates and drinks were always full and that we had everything we needed before we even realized we needed it. We could honestly go on and on about all of the details of the wedding, but the fact is that there isn't a single thing about our ceremony and reception at the English Manor that we would change if we had to do it all over again. Our friends and family are still commenting that it was one of the best weddings they'd ever been too & their compliments always include the beautiful setting and outstanding service at the English Manor. We would recommend this venue to anyone and everyone looking for a gorgeous setting for their mid-size to larger wedding. The reception room seats 200, so that would be your only limitation (if you had more guests than that), but even with large families on both sides, we were able to get our number well below this limit to fit comfortably in the room. This really is a perfect place for your special day!

The English Manor made our dream wedding come true. We had both our ceremony and reception there on 9/24 of this year. It was truly perfect - and I do not use that word lightly. Even my husband, who had never been overly enthused about a formal/traditional wedding, had tears in his eyes the next day, when he was telling me how truly perfect the day had been. Although there may be other venues out there that are just as beautiful, I honestly do not think you will find one whose service compares to that of The English Manor. We visited numerous other venues throughout our planning process, even putting a deposit down on a different venue, and I cannot express how glad I am that we ended up at The English Manor. Every detail was expertly coordinated by the staff, and it seemed that everything just effortlessly came together on the big day. Our maitre'd, Debbie, was a true professional. In fact, just before the ceremony was set to begin, the string trio we had hired informed her that they couldn't play at the outside ceremony, because of the threat of drizzle. Debbie personally erected a tent over the musicians, so that the outdoor ceremony would be saved. What's more, is that I didn't even know of the situation, until it had already been solved. That, I believe is one of The English Manor's greatest assets - they think of and take care of so many details and potential problems, without the bride or groom having had to give a moment of worry to them. I would unequivocally recommend The English Manor to anyone in search of a fabulous wedding venue.

Wonderful place ever. Everyone was nice and friendly. Debbie our Maitre'D was excellent. She made sure everything went smoothly and even though it rained on my wedding she made sure everything was in order and went according to plan. The food was excellent along with the service. Beautiful place to get married. You'll fall in love with just like we did. A must see.

I cannot say enough good things about the English Manor. From day one, they were so helpful and accommodating. In addition to having beautiful grounds and reception facilities, the staff are amazing. Any question I had they would respond to quickly. If I was hoping to do something unique, they were also really accommodating. I really felt like I was a princess in charge of the whole wedding day.

I also had a unique experience with the English Manor regarding my shower. I do not live in NJ, so I did all the wedding planning from out-of-state. I was planning to be in NJ visiting my family with my husband and his family one weekend in Feb so I booked the food tasting for that weekend, I also booked a meeting with our officiant at the English Manor at the same time. I mixed up the days - I thought the tasting was Sunday when in fact it was Saturday. Little did I know, my mom had planned a surprise shower for me that Saturday. So she called the English Manor for help. The English Manor called me and pretended they had to cancel because of a wedding that day. I was upset and gave them a hard time about it. They went out of their way to help my mom surprise me and to please me. How many venues would be that helpful and involved??

The day of the wedding went flawlessly. Our maitre d' was Debbie and she was amazing! My dress got a little dirty during pictures before the ceremony so when we arrived at the English Manor, she saw the dress and got out cleaning materials to fix the dress! My bustle broke during the night (while I was getting down) and Debbie fixed it for me! She was there to make sure my husband and I had our every need met. I love the English Manor and all the staff members. I am so lucky to have found this venue.

Absolutely, 100% beyond satisfied. We threw a surprise bridal shower and from the day we booked the venue to the minute the bride was walking into the hallway, it was exactly how we pictured. We were very happy with the professionalism, the beauty of the garden, the attention to detail, the opulent amount of options, and most importantly, the flexibility of the staff. Debbie was a pleasure to work with and the entire experience was one that I would highly recommend. The food was delicious, the cake was fresh, and the space was perfect. The English Manor exceeded our expectations greatly and I look forward to booking more events!

My husband and I went to a total of 14 venues before we found the English Manor....There are not enough words to describe how amazing the English Manor is....and believe me I am noted for being a person of many words. My husband and I were married at the English Manor on May 15, 2011 and EVERYONE and I mean everyone at the EM is professional, courtesy, attentative..and on and on... The food is so phenomenal that I wish they had a restuarant that we could just go eat at every night... These things are only complimented by the enormous menu options and the calm serene setting. It was like getting married in my own home with the staff being my extended family. From the beginning to the end it was an amazing experience. They truly took away all the stress I may have felt about anything not being right the day of the wedding. If I had a request it was accommodated, it I had a question it was answered timely and honestly. I simply cannot say enough except that my husband and I agree that if it were reasonable we would get married every year just to have our event at the English Manor. I cannot recommend them enough.

We could not have picked a more perfect venue for our wedding! Everything from start to finish was amazingly and professionally done! All our guests were blown away by the quality and amount of food there was to choose from! They raved about cocktail hour and loved that at dinner they had they were offered seconds, allowing them to try the second entree option that they did not select. They were also extremely impressed by the quality of service and professionalism. The grounds construction that The English Manor was having done was finished 3 days before our wedding (as promised by Lisa who was a sweetheart and did everything in her power to put me at ease when I didn't think the renovations to the beautiful grounds would be done in time for our wedding- sorry Lisa for the annoyances and pestering) and the upgrades looked incredible! Everything ran like a well oiled machine, and our wedding day was truly impeccable. You can tell that the staff at The English Manor really cares about and loves what they do and put their heart into making every bride and groom's wedding day a vision of elegance and perfection. Debbie especially was an absolute joy to work with and has found the perfect job to highlight her incredible assets. She put me at complete ease from the moment I met her 5 weeks before our big day until we walked out the door after our wedding as husband and wife. She is easy going, funny, and caring and is there to help with anything you need done! She kept everything running smoothly and fixed any issues before I even had the opportunity to notice them. She even cleaned my dress twice because I got pollen, grass, and dirt all over my train! She is just an incredible maitre d and is that little something extra that sets The English Manor apart from other wedding venues. We can only hope that one day friends of ours choose The English Manor as their wedding venue so we can go as guests and enjoy all they offer!

Every bride has a fantasy about what her wedding is going to be like. If you want it to be even better than your fantasy, have it at The English Manor. I just got married on April 23, 2011 and EVERYTHING was perfect! Debbie & Lisa were just incredible and went WAY above & beyond when it came to anything we wanted or needed. I enjoyed every moment of my wedding because Debbie made sure I had NOTHING to worry about and I could just relax and have fun.

As parents of the Bride we could not say enough about how Kelly and Debbie ensured the successful transition of our daughter into married life. The planning, suggestions, attention to detail, food, and oversight of all facets of the wedding led to a magnificent affair. Not one thing could be said to have marred this event. The entire staff were attentive, considerate and Debbie's special touches, like the coffee cart for the guests before and after the chilly ceremony at 4pm Nov 20th, was typical of the care Debbie gives her clients at The English Manor.

We had the most amazing wedding on 10/09/10 at the English Manor! The venue was exactly what we were looking for ..an intimate and casual yet elegant atmosphere! Patty, our Maitre D was super nice! and kept everything under control. Although many of my guests arrived VERY EARLY, and I was running late in getting ready, she still was able to coordinate our private meet and greet, which was extremely special! The food is delicious and abundant! The English Manor knows what they are doing and provide exceptional service. Anyone getting married here will have a special day!

The English Manor staff was amazing. Debbie, our Maitre'D took care of everything and tried to keep everyone calm, coordinate, and aware of what was going on. The food was great and the ambiance at this hall was the best thing we could have asked for. In addition, we got married on a Sunday and they gave us the Sunday discount even for Labor Day weekend. Everyone had a great time. Our ceremony was there too and people commented that they saw butterflies! It was perfect here.

The English Manor is the most beautiful place for a wedding one could ever hope for. The day was perfect and my husband and I were married surrounded by beautiful gardens under a white gazebo. We has a gorgeous cocktail hour outside on the deck with more food than I could imagine, all of it being unbelievable. And the was just the beginning! I was amazed and impressed as the wedding continued and everything came together beautifully. It was a dream wedding. On top of that the entire staff was unbelievable from the beginning of planning through the next day when I stopped by to pick up a few things. It was truly a magical day. I would highly recommend the English Manor to anyone and everyone!

The staff at The English Manor are top-notch! Debbie, our Maitre D, was exceptional. At our first meeting, she answered all my questions before I even got to my list of questions, and she went above and beyond for me, my family & guests on the day of my wedding. All my guests tell me they've never seen such attention to detail, complete from the time they arrived for the ceremony with the fresh fruit welcome station, throughout the cocktail hour, the entire reception and even as they were leaving, they enjoyed the good-bye station of cookies & coffee. Many guests have told me that it was the best wedding reception venue they've been to, ever.

If you have a choice, choose the English Manor! I made my choice even before I got engaged. My then boyfriend was appearing more and more smitten with each passing day, so I took some initiative (and a leap of faith), and investigated several potential wedding venues in my area. I tried several places, but after seeing the gorgeous ballroom and the beautiful grounds of The English Manor, I remember thinking, “This is it.” My search was over.

A few months later (when I got engaged for real), my husband and I were lucky enough to secure a summer date at The English Manor. My family’s first appointment at the English Manor was with Nancy, who was incredibly knowledgeable. She answered all of our questions with ease, patience, and consideration. In fact, we wound up using several of her suggestions and recommendations on our big day. For instance, she introduced us to Josh Lynn, our amazing wedding photographer, and Chris Garrow, our talented entertainer/DJ. During our meeting, Nancy mentioned an English Manor bride utlizing a steel drum band during her cocktail hour and another bride incorporating a photo booth area throughout her reception. Nancy gave me invaluable ideas, both of which were huge hits at my wedding! Perhaps most incredible, Nancy made sure to accommodate each and every one of our “special requests.” And believe me, the loving Father of the Bride had quite a few throughout the wedding year!

During our food tasting, my family, husband, and I met Debbie, our maître d. This woman is incredible! Debbie not only listened intently to every one of our requests, she helped my husband and I sneak in a surprise Elvis impersonator (the fantastic Robert MacArthur) during the reception. No one suspected a thing thanks to Debbie’s “covert skills.” She executed my itinerary flawlessly. But the best thing about Debbie is unquestionably her demeanor. She has this refreshingly kind, compassionate way of dealing people that is truly rare nowadays. She was a tremendous blessing to my family and I during both the wedding process and the big day.

The ladies of the English Manor, especially Debbie, Nancy, Lisa, and Kelly are in a league of their own. So yes, the English Manor is breathtaking and gorgeous, making it worthy to book based on aesthetics alone. And yes, its food is absolutely delicious. But the venue’s true strength lies in its staff, which makes everything personal and intimate, and made me feel at home every time I set foot on the premises. So, thank you ladies! My family, husband and I will be forever grateful.

The English Manor is the best in NJ, we had our wedding in June 19, 2010 and everything was just like we want it to be, Lisa T. is GREAT and very helpfull ans well as Kelly... We are just so happy with The English Manor, and we highly recommended to all couples planning to dream wedding.

There are not enough positive things I can say about The English Manor. My wedding was everything I ever wanted because of the people at The English Manor, the beautiful location, and the delicious food. They worked with us when our ceremony started late and made sure everything went smoothly. They went above and beyond what I thought they even should have, and I couldn't be more thankful. I received so many compliments on the beautiful gardens, the gorgeous ballroom, and the huge amount of great food! I can't wait to be a guest at a wedding there!

I'm not just boosting the rating by picking 5 out of 5 stars for everything. I want to start by saying that I'm not the bride, I'm the groom. We booked the English Manor back in July of 2008 for our May 2010 wedding. Right from the start we were impressed with one employee, Debbie. At the time she was not a maitre de but we felt so comfortable with her during our tour and explanation of costs, etc. that we requested her to be our maitre de. Everything that we asked them for, they did for us. They were extremely helpful with every aspect of the wedding planning. I myself am a graphic designer and decided to do all of the design work for our wedding; programs, invites, menus, place cards, etc.. Debbie and her staff made sure that everything worked well with the atmosphere of the English Manor. My wife and I are ecstatic beyond words with our choice in the having our outdoor ceremony and reception at the English Manor. Hopefully my feedback helps in your search for that special place for your once in a lifetime special day, because the English Manor is everything that you could dream of for your wedding day.

I cannot say enough good about this venue. Everyone I spoke to was SO helpful. The facility was gorgeous and the food was amazing. 8 months later people are still talking about how great our wedding was. Debbie was such a help and made everything so easy. (Thank You!) My wedding day was flawless. Don't even look at another facility, The English Manor is the best out there.

I got married at the English Manor on January 8th and everything was perfect. The staff is exceptional and there was not a guest at the wedding that was not raving about the service and the food. All of my guests were blown away with the cocktail hour as well as the special extra goodies that the English Manor will provide your guests. Some of these complimentary 'extra's' are: welcome station for your guests, ice cream cones, roaming fondue station, cordial station and the cutest good bye station with cookies, coffee and water for your guests to take as they are leaving. Debbie was our maitre'd and she was so wonderful, sweet, and accomadating to work with. Every single one of our requests were met. We had our ceremony at the venue and they made the room look beautiful and then quickly transformed it during the cocktail hour and it wowed all of my guests. I can not say enough great things about my experience working with the English Manor and Debbie. All of my calls were always answered and they were just so flexible. They are true professionals and you can rest assured that you will have a totally stress free event here. I knew from the moment I signed my contract with them that I would be taken care of and I can honestly say they surpassed my expectations. I was treated like a princess the entire night as was my family with servers constantly making sure you had everything you needed from a drink to the delicious food and goodies. It was such a fantastic experience and if I could do it all over again I would not change a single thing. My night and the entire experience was truly magical.

WOW! That is what people keep saying over and over again to us. Exceptional service, value, and quality of EVERYTHING. My daughter got married there and had the reception there too. People thought the cocktail hour was the dinner because of ALL the wonderful food! I still have people telling us that it was the best wedding and food they ever went to! I am not exaggerating one bit! Thanks Debbie for making Jenny's day so special and effortless. I think that was the part that was the best for us....IT WAS EFFORTLESS because they did all the work and we had NO worry at any point! We went into the wedding feeling no stress, just nerves. We enjoyed the whole day and our guests did too. People think we spent tons more than we actually did!!!!!! If I had another daughter, this is where she would get married too. We traveled from Delaware for this magnificent fairy-tale wedding that The English Manor created for us. I never imagined my daughter could have such a wedding! Run, don't walk to the English Manor and book it! They were fabulous! These are people who cannot do enough for you. They cater only one wedding at a time and you and your family are their main concern. It was like having Guardian Angels watching over us! The grounds are beautiful, the building is elegant and the food is wonderful. It was like having a wedding in a relative's house. The feeling of warmth was not just felt by ourselves. Guests raved about the entire affair!

Debbie was our personal maitre'd and she saw to every detail both before, during and after our daughter's wedding. She made sure everything ran smoothly and guided us every step of the way. On the day of the wedding, we were able to totally enjoy ourselves knowing that anything that needed attention was getting it!
As the parents of the bride, we were truly stress free and enjoyed every minute of the affair. The bride and groom felt the same way!

From a parent's perspective, The English Manor is everything I could possibly have dreamed of for our daughter's wedding. I cannot think of one single negative thing to say about it! There truly aren't adequate words to describe my love for The English Manor. They were helpful and attentive from our first tour down to the final minutes of our wedding day when they helped us carry our gifts out to the car. They made everything simple, fun, and stress free. The grounds and building are gorgeous and the staff is unbelievable.

I was recently married at the English Manor, and our wedding went off without a hitch! Having toured other venues in the area, the E.M. was by far the best value for the money. Our guests could not stop talking about the delicious food (of which you get more than anyone could eat!) and the beautiful grounds and interior.

The owner and staff truly care about you and about making your day as special as they can, and continually go out of their way to do so. I was lucky enough to have Lisa herself as my maitre d and she is amazing! But every person I came in contact with was professional yet extremely friendly and helpful. I felt completely at ease with the details of my wedding in the hands of this staff, and could not be happier that we chose this as our venue. I would absolutely recommend it to ANYONE without any reservations.

If I had to sum it up in one word. Wonderful! From the moment I walked though the doors on my wedding day on Oct 3, 2009, until I walked out, it was a 100% positive experience, The professionalism of the Maitre De and the staff made my day even more special. I had my guests tell me afterwards how much they loved the venue, the food and the friendliness of the staff. I know that most brides complain about their day, that it went by to fast to enjoy, well, I loved every minute of mine. The venue is so accomodating that you feel as if you are home in a mini palace. In my opinion "One wedding at a time" is the best route you want to go, and at The English Manor you are Queen for all five hours of your reception. I would definitely recommend this venue to any bride and groom!

We were greeted at the door by our personal host who took exceptional care of us the entire evening. The staff was beyond professional. They were extremely polite to our guests. Two of the servers spoke fluent Italian which was a HUGE benefit since we had several dozen couples from Italy at the wedding. Our guests, who all know excellent food, commented all night how wonderful it tasted and how generous the portions were. The dessert room was impressive as guests entered a separate room to find an array of delicious sweets. Overall we found the English Manor to be an extremely elegant, classy, an personal venue. We decorated the fire place den with pictures of both of our family's so guests could view them during the cocktail hour. The benefit of having only one wedding at a time also is a plus as the staff pays 100% of their attention to YOUR wedding. You never bump into or see anyone else from another function. You truly feel you are in your own mini Colonial Castle. If we had to do it all over again we would have it at the English Manor once again, it was a perfect evening. We highly recommend The English Manor.

The English Manor is absolutely amazing. I chose The English Manor after going to look at practically every wedding hall in Monmouth County. From our first meeting with Lisa, the owner, until the the time we walked out the door after our wedding, everything was perfect. The staff at The English Manor is very attentive and accommodating. They ensured both sets of parents were taken care of all night and even brought my dad a plate of mini franks in a blanket during the cocktail hour. (They remembered these were his favorite from the meeting when we picked our food choices!!). My husband and I did not have to worry about a thing all night. Everyone loved the food and we were told by a coworker from NY that it was the best cocktail hour she had ever been to. Lisa even left my mom's flat shoes under her table so she could change after being introduced and dance the night away!! I honestly cannot say enough good things about this place. I wish I could relive the night a million times over. You will not be disappointed with this venue. Great food, superb service, and a beautiful venue!

My new husband and I recently got married at The English Manor on July 2, 2009. Liz was in complete charge of our wedding from the start. She was reliable, dependable, and flexible. My wedding was more than I could have possibly dreamed of. Liz relaxed me in every way and made me feel like her top priority. She adjusted well to all of our requests and did everything possible to make my families' dreams come true. The wedding was intimate and beautiful. Both sides of the families commented on how tasteful the decor was and intimate the night was. The food was delicious and Liz made it important to satisfy everybody's request. From the time we first entered The English Manor we were impressed by the professionalism and the friendliness of the staff and the extreme beauty of the setting. It had been highly recommended by several friends. My fiance and I appreciated the guidance we got in planning our wedding. The landscaping of The English Manor is exquisite. Many of our guests were gardeners and loved the wonderful plants and flowers. The food was wonderful and the service was efficient and very friendly. We were able to get married in the gazebo outside which added a wonderful dimension to the whole day. I honestly can not put into words how wonderful this establishment is. The English Manor, Debbie, Lisa, and the entire staff at The English Manor is nothing but professional. All of our guests as well as myself, and my wife were amazed with the attention to detail that was given to us. We received calls almost everyday up to the wedding to verify everything, which was amazing. From the moment we left the venue my wife knew she had to have our wedding here, they made you feel like you are at home.
The food was amazing and every request that we asked for was handle without a problem. The bar tenders, and the entire serving staff was just wonderful, as my parents and my in-laws stated and us as well, I don't think we had an empty glass the entire night, if it was put down then it was refreshed or replaced instantly.
The entire day would not have been possible with out the help and expertise of this staff, from the ceremony to the reception there was not a single flaw or minor hiccup.

From the moment we went to see the English Manor, we knew that was the place we wanted our reception. They were so nice and made everything so perfect. They only have one wedding there a day so we weren't being rushed... everything was awesome. The grounds there are perfect for photos.. the gardens are amazing.

We LOVED everything about the English Manor. They were so flexible and caring to our needs and thoughts!!! Our matre'd checked in with us all throughout the evening and made sure we were completely comfortable! We highly recommend the English Manor!!!

I would highly recommend the English Manor and all of its amenities. We used the English Manor as our ceremony site, our reception site, and our photography site -- the grounds are just beautiful.

The value can't be beat (our guests thought that our cocktail hour was the main reception, if that's any indicator of how lavish their spreads are) and the customer service is phenomenal. They do one wedding at a time so you don't have to compete for attention and services. They don't nickel and dime you for extra services. For example, our groom's cake was a special request that they honored without charging extra, as well as special requests for certain liquors at the bar (which they will gladly run out and get more of should they need it mid-way through the reception!). The English Manor is highly personalized and very attentive to all your details. We had the best day ever with them!

Patty from The English Manor was wonderful. She was so patient with my husand and I when it came down to the final decision making of everything. The English Manor was beautiful and everything we wanted. We had our ceremony take place in their gardens and it was breath taking!! The food was amazing and all of guests left satisfied at the end of the night. Each staff member was kind and a joy to work with. Once the day came, my husband and I had nothing to worry about - Patty and her staff took care of everything. There was no task to big that they did not take care of. Everything from getting ready, to the ceremony, to pictures, to our grand entrance, to the food, and finally the big good bye was wonderful. Not only is The English Manor beautiful inside, but the grounds are outstanding!! Our wedding was truly a dream come true and we thank everyone who was there with us that day for all that they did.

I was blessed to have my wedding at the English Manor. Blessed so, that as a director and decision maker for my corporation , I had decided to entrust Lisa Truesdale and her family to host 2 other very large corporate functions for us. The Corp Parties consisted of 150 + people. All, may I say, we the most perfect functions that I could have wished for...I must tell you, If you are looking for a 5 STAR Amazing, detail oriented and worry free event, Lisa and the English Manor, Crystal or Rosewood are one of the places that you should seriously consider.

From Entry to Exit.....Every Guest, Need, Whim, were catered to. I have the most amazing memories as well do our guests... We were married in 1999 and people are still talking about how GREAT our wedding was, and the Corporate Functions- Onxy and Capital One employees are still discussing how beautiful the parties were and how Lisa and her crew were attentive to all our needs.

I have since moved on from that company and have come to Lisa for a monumental birthday for my Mom. This birthday is so significant as she is ill and I do not see another milestone birthday for her in the future...I pray I am wrong. All I can say is I would not entrust anyone except Lisa and her family and crew to handle this special event and I know that it will be beautiful and amazing as all of the functions were that I have had with their team.

I read a review from a "Bridezilla" .....I cannot believe that you wrote what you wrote about Lisa...After all of the experience that I have had with this place and people, ...BTW...If anyone has watched the show "Bridezilla" her picture should be a dictionary photo for this. What she actually complained about was her own ignorance about understanding a contract.

Absolutely wonderful!!! I cannot say enough good things about The English Manor. They genuinely cared so much about you and your day. They love to help with planning the details of your wedding. They helped time my wedding in accordance with the sunset so we can get the most out of the day. They have so many great recommendations. They had so many upgrades and they keep improving! The grounds are picturesque and provide you with so many photo ops! The ballroom is beautiful with a marble dancing floor. It is truly an elegant venue! My family is very picky when it comes to food and they all had wonderful things to say about it and my guests talked about the food for months after the wedding. My day was absolutely perfect!!! It is a great place and if I ever consider renewing my vows, I would do it at the English Manor! Since then 2 of my friends have booked their weddings there!

Where do I begin?! I could not have asked for a more flawless reception! The food was incredible. The hall was beautiful. They even surprised us a few extras. All of our guests received second servings of their main course, were able to take dessert and coffee to go, and even surprised us with a bride and groom carved jack-o-lantern. My husband and I never once had to go to the bar to get a drink. Someone with always with us every step of the way with a refill. My guests RAVED about how wonderful our wedding was! I highly recommend The English Manor to anyone.

LOVE this place. From day 1 they have been amazing to work with. Every little question I ever had was always answered immediately. I once asked how tall the gazebo was, and within an hour they went out with a ladder to measure it for me. Who else who do that? I never had an anxiety with them. In fact the day of, I just let them take charge. The food is amazing and it came non-stop all night! Definately go to the tasting, we were a pain at ours, but because of a food allergy of mine, they were so quick to accomodate sauces, variations, etc. My father ended up in the hospital days before my wedding and had to miss it. Lisa the owner, took digital pictures from beginning to end and at the end of the night, she had blown up pictures and made a collage to give to my dad the same day. They really do care about you the bride and they make you feel as if you are the only one in the world.

Patty was a pleasure to work with. She followed every detail of our wedding (and they were very extensive) to a tee. Our guests are still raving about the English Manor a year later. Food was excellent and atmosphere was perfect for a garden wedding theme. Can't say enough great things about this venue!

Our wedding at the English Manor in October was such a wonderful experience. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Our outdoor cocktail hour was amazing, all our quests are still raving about it. We tried food at many other reception halls and the English Manors food was above and beyond better than any other venue. We are so excited to recommend the venue to many of our friends.

All of my guests raved about how great the food was and how beautiful the estate and the grounds were. My husband and I got married in their gardens and it was breathtaking. They have gone into so much detail with their landscaping and flowers throughout that you really don't need to purchase your own decorations. Their gazebo is even decorated with beautiful silk flowers and tulle bows! The only thing I would caution others on is that you MUST use their seating arrangement. I went ahead and arranged the tables and seats before my finalization appointment and it was different from the way they typically arrange the tables. I didn't think it would be a problem since I gave them a copy of my seating arrangements, but they still set the tables up in their normal manner. Needless to say, the tables were off. No one seemed to care except my husband's grandmother. To this day, she still won't talk to us about the wedding because she thinks we did not place her at the appropriate table on purpose, even though my parents weren't at the head table. Other than that, the place was perfect!

The staff at the English Manor was truly amazing. They were always honest and really showed that they cared about MY needs for my wedding despite how many weddings/parties they always have going on. They made me feel important and really heard me. The grounds were gorgeous and we were married on site. The food was amazing and they made my day just amazing.

I had my wedding at The English Manor on 9/25/10. It was a fantastic day! Everyone raved about the beauty of the grounds and building, as well as the wonderful staff and excellent food! We had a Saturday afternoon wedding, and the value we received was incredible. Considering the issues we had with our wedding, the English Manor was very flexible in almost every way, and helped as we transitioned from what was supposed to be a post-destination wedding brunch (destination wedding had to be canceled for personal reasons) to a full-on wedding with ceremony on the grounds with a cocktail hour and dinner. Debbie was our maitre-d and was amazing, especially in the face of a some highly sensitive family issues and a wardrobe malfunction with my dress the day of that she was able to fix in minutes.

Every last detail there was beautiful, and I didn't have to worry about a single detail the day of because I knew it would be taken care of or handled by the staff. It was a fantastic day. I would highly recommend the English Manor. :)

The English Manor was wonderful! When we met with Debbie two weeks before the wedding, she helped put our mind at ease about everything. The wedding day ran smoothly, and we are still getting compliments about how great the day was! The number one response I get from people is how much food there was and how good it tasted (especially the mini-ruben as a cocktail hour appetizer). The next day when we went to pick up our stuff at The English Manor, we were so happy that they gave us not only the top of the cake, but also slices of it that we could eat that night (since we did not have a chance to eat it on our wedding day). All around great experience!

We couldn't have asked for a better place for our reception - in fact we even tried to have our son's Christening party there (the date was not available). Lisa and the staff at this venue are BEYOND fabulous.

The english Manor was amazing!! Everyone was nice, organized, professional and totally on top of everything. Their buildings and grounds aer beautiful. They took care of everything and had me covered there was no way I could have forgotten anything. They handled every minor crisis with care and my wedding is a day I will never forget because of them!!

I got married at The English Manor in June 2010. I chose the EM because I was looking for a one-wedding at a time venue that was more intimate and unique then the traditional large banquet hall. I also wanted to have an outdoor ceremony at the venue and the EM has BEAUTIFUL gardens! (which actually saved me LOTs of money on floral decor for my ceremony). I was very happy with my decision! The staff is extremely professional and the food was excellent. I also felt it was a good value for the money. At both my tasting and meetings with the staff, I had an excellent experience. I highly recommend this venue site!

A great place to have a wedding reception! They only have one wedding at a time, so everything is personal to your wedding. Great food, lots of nice places for pictures, great cocktail hour room and food. Loved it!

Kelly was such a nice person to work with. She did make her available any time. I have to say my guest made a point of calling after the wedding to comment on what a great location with amazing food.

The sales staff (Debbie) was wonderful, friendly, and fantastic. When we were assigned our wedding coordinator, however, we hit a few bumps in the road, mostly due to miscommunications that could have been avoided had the coordinator asked us some key questions about our expectations. However, on the actual day of the wedding, things came back together and the coordinator took care of our every need expertly, efficiently, and professionally.

The few minor mishaps that occurred included thinking we were going for a food tasting when we were not (apparently picking the food does not automatically indicate that you will be tasting it before picking it; if you want to taste it you have to specifically ask to do so, and your coordinator may not tell you this!), the top layer of the cake having the wrong filling (the sheet I faxed back with our choices was admittedly a bit confusing since each layer we chose was different, but I was told the coordinator would call me to clarify, which was never done. Not a huge deal to us, but it may be to some, so make sure that you don't get too flustered before the wedding to follow up on things that are important to you that are supposed to be followed up on by the coordinator), and my groom not getting the salad that he specifically requested upfront when we booked (again, very minor detail, but I'm including everything since as a bride myself, I know I'd want to know everything possible before making my vendor decisions!)

There were, however, a ton of things I didn't think of to do, that they had covered before I even realized it needed doing! As the bride, crises were averted without me even knowing so as not to stress me out, little extras were done last minute with nothing but friendliness and efficiency, and at the end of the day, my final assesment of my wedding coordinator is that she did a fabulous job.

HOWEVER, please be advised that if you have to deal with the manager Lisa, don't expect that you'll be dealing with a professional. There was a minor misunderstanding concerning a gratuity fee attached to the ceremony fee. When we booked the Manor, I specifically asked if gratuity was attached to the ceremony fee, and was advised that it was not. Now, as a professional myself, when a client says this to me about a policy that's been in place for a very long time and hasn't changed (like the fact that gratuity is always tacked on to the ceremony fee at the English Manor), I too tend to believe that the client is mistaken and that my sales associates would not have misinformed them. I do, however, admit that miscommunications can indeed happen, and that if one such miscommunication did happen, I apologize profusely, even if funds cannot be returned. Respecting the client enough to admit that mistakes are possible and apologizing for any miscommunication is a very basic component of management. However, instead of apologizing, Lisa raised her voice over the phone with me to a near yell, spoke over me numerous times, accused me of not knowing what I was talking about, and even had the gaul to say to me that if I didn't know what the symbol "++" in their contract meant, (even though there was no key and for all I knew it could have been an indication of the end of the sentence), then I shouldn't have signed it and that in general, I shouldn't be signing contracts if I didn't know what I was doing. Nice, right? I responded by admitting my naivitee in trusting the honesty of her establishment to not have hidden items in the contract. It was actually almost comical how pulled together I was and how insanely unprofessional and emotional she was throughout teh conversation.

So basically, if you book with The English Manor, watch your own back, make sure that you don't forget in all your wedding frenzy to follow up on things that THEY are supposed to follow up on with you, and pray that you don't have an issue that escalates to a management level. It will be more like fighting with a child that dealing with a manager, and that is the last thing a bride needs to deal with three days before the most important day of her life to date.

I have photographed weddings at many venues, however, The English Manor is BY FAR my favorite!
They aren't a 'wedding factory'. They only do one wedding/event at a time. This way their whole staff caters to you and your guests. Your day is their ONLY priority. The grounds are beautiful as well. And as a photographer, what I appreciate most, is the ability to use the entire property for your photographs. Many other venues have pretty surroundings, however at these other venues, brides are limited to one area only, and not allowed to enter into other parts of the building and/or garden areas.
Please call them today to discuss your day. I assure you, they will go above and beyond meeting your expectations.

I played guitar here recently for a wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. The facility and grounds are very beautiful. There's a lovely outdoor ceremony site and huge deck nearby for the cocktail hour. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. I would highly recommend this venue.

As a wedding photographer I have been in the business for 25 years. I have worked at many banquet facilties: some good,some not so good. The English Manor is one of the best banquet facilties in New Jersey. They are easily #1 in Monmouth County.

I have had the pleasure of regularly working at the English Manor for ten years. This is truly one of the few places that has it all. One very overlooked aspect of a banquet facility is the staff. The staff at the English Manor is so incredibly professional. Many of the members of the staff have been there as long as I can remember, which goes to show you that they are seasoned and experienced enough to handle anything. One wedding at a time, a newly renovated ballroom, lush gardens, excellent food... all beyond one's expectations.
