The Flowerman

Stephanie, the wedding coordinator, sat down with us and helped us decide which flowers to use. She was very knowledgeable about which flowers would look best together, how many we will need, etc. We had no trouble scheduling convenient appointment times. To save money, we opted to use the DIY program instead of having a designer put the bouquets together. My bridesmaids and I had no idea what we were doing, but the assistant showed us step-by-step how to assemble the bouquets and how to make them look their best. The price for the DIY program was great. I didn't have to cut any corners or skimp on any of my favorite flowers- I got my dream bouquet, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, and about 30 attendant boutonierres/corsages for about $250. They turned out more beautiful than I could have imagined!

We only had flower bouquets and the Flowerman in Dayton did them. We called them up and told them what we were looking for and they put them together for us. We liked the simplicity of the design. They were beautiful and very inexpensive for 2 bouquets for bridemaids made out of hygrangeas and 1 bridal bouquet made out of a dozen ivory roses. I believe we paid under $100 for all three made by them.

Stephanie (the DIY coordinator) was very helpful and friendly. They have a million weddings going on a time so when calling to check up or having a follow-up meeting you really do not get “personal” attention. They are difficult to get a hold of, but prices and services are unbeatable.

Since my wedding was on a Sunday, we had to pick up out flowers on Saturday night and store them in my basement. Otherwise they were going to charge us $50 to pick them up on Sunday. I thought this was a bit unreasonable since part of my fee included all storage and supplies, but it may just be my opinion.

On Friday, we entered to begin our DIY, and there were bunches of freesia waiting on our table. All of the freesia I had ordered was for my bouquet. They brought my bouquet to show me and it was wrong. It was not a huge deal, but they had replaced my freesia with lisianthis, and tied it with a yellow ribbon (colors for wedding were B&W with red accents). After expressing my concerns they fixed it immediately. Otherwise the flowers were fresh and beautiful and the staff was helpful when we needed it. Really though the 5 stars here will go to my Grandma and Aunt who did all of the corsages and bouts.

For our centerpieces we made our own bouquets at The Flower Man. We chose our flowers and came the day before and put them together ourselves. It saved us money and put my personal touch on them.

I live about an hour from this vendor and using them was well worth it. I went to a typical florist and told them what I wanted for my centerpiece. It was $50. I got the flowers from here and it was $10 per table. Granted on the day of the wedding me and my bridesmaids were putting flowers in vases but it was fun and some good quality girl time!! One of my fondest wedding memories. I got bouquets with hydrangea and a dozen roses each for $20 a piece. They looked like they should be bridal bouquets and they would have been $100 a piece at a regular florist. They will meet with you and discuss you wedding colors, etc... You can make your own bouquets or have them do it which is what I did. I got greenery to tie on candles and flowers for my cake... My entire wdg. and reception floral bill with 6 bridesmaids and groomsmen was $1,000. You can see my flowers on facebook. All I have to say to any new bride is that anything you buy that has the word wdg tacked onto it is going to cost 10x as much. Watch out and check this place out. My brother and friend picked up the flowers that morning even though it was an hour away and it was well worth it. Please consider this service. This was a great way to save money and create the flowers I wanted for my wedding. They offer DIY parties to help bridal parties learn and create beautiful and classic bouquets. Price was economical too.

The Flowerman is great for people who like to do-it-yourself or know someone who does! My mother worked in a flower shop so she did all the flowers. The flowerman lets you use their workroom and supplies free of charge and also has great deals on the flowers. Would definatley recommend!
