Fontenot Grand Mansion

This venue is absolutley gorgeous. They have many different options of where to get married, inside and outside. They are very helpful with planning the wedding and are very talented at what they do. They are a bit pricey, but i wouldnt have had my wedding anywhere else and it was definetly worth it!

Not really my style... too formal looking. They have a nice outdoor area in the back for ceremonies, but I was not impressed with the other houses located on the property. I think it takes away from the ambiance & feel. They actually live in the house so it kind of feels like you're invading someone's personal space.

It's nice, but I agree it feels a bit strange with the other houses on the property. You can rent rooms that have been turned into a "bed & breakfast" but I wasn't really convinced.

The home is lovely, but I think the other houses really take away from the elegant feel.

You will need a wedding coordinator on the big day if you use
this vendor. They are not staffed to tend to all the bride's needs.
At points during the wedding, I could find no one directing the timeline.
There are extra charges for DJ and bar if you have ceremony in gazebo
because your guests will be gathered to the front of mansion while
great hall is prepared for reception. The flower vendor Fontenot Mansion
highly recommended was not professional at all and huge disappointment.
They are pricey and you don't get what you pay for. Food was OK,
music - horrible accoustics. Don't judge by music you hear playing when
you are there for meetings to plan wedding. Your guests will be required to
go outside while great hall is prepared, even if it is raining. Then you will need
a tent ($$$$$). This venue is private home and doesn't meet expectations.

The owner, the coordinator all went above and beyond in assisting me in every step of the planning process. I could not have done it alone! They had samples for me to follow whiel allowing me to design the menu, layout of tables, and event time line. It was truley MY reception! The vendors they recommened were very nice, professioanl and worth the cost. I had to plan my budget well, but in the end I spent less than I would have at other places because of hidden costs that come up at the end. This was not the case here! Everything they said the first day of my tour when I first met them was true the day of my wedding! The guests talked about the food more than anything else! The chef let us plan out menu, which was unique, a southamerican-thai fusion! It was delicious!!!!!

They were wonderful! They handled all the details for me and were OPEN the weekend after hurricane Ike. We were so fortunate to have them on our side throughout the whole process--they made everything so easy.

The food was amazing-we had so many compliments!! The chef even baked us a cake when he realized our cake had not shown up yet at 9:00!!

I'd have to agree with the other reviewers, it's an ok place, but the fact that they live on-site is a bit uncomfortable. Just not our style, but it could be yours.

Open House and Fashion show had a lot of different wedding exhibitors displaying some of the finest lines from dresses to invitations to wedding favors everything was at the Open House and Fashion show. The friendly staff working the event helped give us some helpful information and so did all of the wedding vendors. We had a good time and the show was free and it was on the same level of bridal shows as the paid ones. The bridal show was very busy and also everyone seemed to be having a good time browsing and also talking with each vendor. It is a good bridal show to go to for some wedding ideas.

This place was amazingly gorgeous! The staff there was fun and energetic. They helped us with whatever we needed and they helped make our wedding a beautiful memory. It was not that bad price wise, and I loved every part of this place. Would definitly recommend them.

This was a beautiful location for our reception. Reina, the owner, is a sweetheart and really worked with us on every detail. However, there was an issue with the parking attendants (we were previously quoted a price, then it went up dramatically), and the owner's mother (or mother-in-law, I forget) went through our buffet line at the reception. This upset my Grandmother more than anything, but was obviously not a case to ruin the day. I know they've had a few years since my wedding to work out the kinks. All in all, I would definitely recommend this vendor for other brides, as it is a beautiful and unique location.

I love working at The Fontenot Grand Mansion because the staff is very professional and helpful, and the location is gorgeous!
